<p>Online advertising which is a new form of communication provides interactivity between advertisers and consumers.</p><p>This dissertation is focusing on how advertising management influence the effectiveness of online advertising.The theoretical framework of this study mainly contains the advertising management and effectiveness of effects model.These two models are combined together in an analytical model where a connection between the two theories is explained that will be used as a foundation in gathering and analyzing the empirical findings. The quatitative research strategy is appliedd in this dissertation. Based on the questionnaies of white-collar workers, the empirical data was collected.</p><p>The conclusion which can be drawn from this study is that there is clear evidence that good management will improve cognitive,affective and conative degree of consumer behavior.</p>

Modellerna är amerikanska och hämtade från forskningsområdet"Classroom Management", eller CM. Observationerna är gjorda vid fyra skolor och har ligger till grund för 6 intervjuer som gjorts. Lärares ledarskap är mycket komplext och enligt min observation det går inte att peka på att lärare konsekvent använder sig av en modell.

Långsiktigt fastighetsföretagande genom personliga, hållbara och lojala kundrelationer

Syftet med studien är att skapa förståelse för hur ledningen i fastighetsföretag arbetar för att på lång sikt skapa personliga, hållbara och lojala kundrelationer. Studien antar ett aktörssynsätt och den hermeneutiska traditionen. En fallstudie på totalt fem fastighetsföretag har genomförts där sammanlagt 18 kvalitativa intervjuer fullbordats. Studien visar att företag arbetar också utanför sin kärnverksamhet för att skapa personliga, hållbara och lojala kundrelationer. Företag bör skapa ett värde som även delas av kunder. För att skapa starkare band till sina kunder kan företag styra sin verksamhet med hjälp av CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) verksamheter av olika slag för att skapa hållbara, djupa och långsiktiga kundrelationer och därigenom bidra till att infria kundernas önskemål. Genom att leverera produkter och tjänster av hög kvalitet, att tillhandahålla aktiviteter för kunder och samarbeta med nyckelpersoner kan kundernas lojalitet öka. Förslag till vidare forskning är att genomföra en ny studie med samma syfte, dock med tillägg av intervjuer med kunder. Det är också viktigt att studera frågan utifrån kundernas perspektiv, för att närmare undersöka hur kunder vill stärka relationen till de företag man arbetar med. På detta sätt kan en bild ges av hur kunder på bästa sätt kan motiveras att ställa upp och vara med och påverka företagens beslut. I flera intervjuer har det framkommit att ledningen i företagen ofta har problem att få en bred uppslutning vid kundmöten.

Comprehensive Model-Based Design and Analysis Approach for Thermal Management Systems in Hybridized Vehicles

abstract: This research effort focuses on thermal management system (TMS) design for a high-performance, Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV). The thermal performance for various components in an electrified powertrain is investigated using a 3D finite difference model for a complete vehicle system, including inherently temperature-sensitive components. The components include the electric motor (EM), power electronics, Energy Storage System (ESS), and Internal Combustion Engine (ICE). A model-based design approach is utilized, where a combination of experimental work and simulation are integrated. After defining heat sources and heat sinks within the power train system, temporal and spatial boundary conditions were extracted experimentally to facilitate the 3D simulation under different road-load scenarios. Material properties, surface conditions, and environmental factors were defined for the geometrical surface mesh representation of the system. Meanwhile the finite differencing code handles the heat transfer phenomena via conduction and radiation, all convective heat transfer mode within the powertrain are defined using fluid nodes and fluid streams within the powertrain. Conclusions are drawn through correlating experimental results to the outcome from the thermal model. The outcome from this research effort is a 3D thermal performance predictive tool that can be utilized in order to evaluate the design of advanced thermal management systems (TMSs) for alternative powertrains in early design/concept stages of the development process. For future work, it is recommended that a full validation of the 3D thermal model be completed. Subsequently, design improvements can be made to the TMS. Some possible improvements include analysis and evaluation of shielding of the catalytic converter, exhaust manifold, and power electronics, as well as substituting for material with better thermal performance in other temperature-sensitive components, where applicable. Effectiveness of the project management profession in the Ugandan oil industry : performance, benefits and challenges

Oil is one of the most valuable resources. For a country like Uganda, which is one of the least developed countries in the world with more than one third of the population still living below the poverty line; the discovery of this valuable resource has the capacity to radically alter the economy of the country. But on the other hand, oil exploration, mining and refining are complex, costly, long duration projects with many challenges that require sophisticated financial management, planning, scheduling and cost control. The project management profession is charged as a single point of responsibility for initiating, planning, executing, monitoring and controlling projects in order to meet stakeholder’s needs and expectations. The research objectives were: 1. To identify and examine the challenges and risks associated with the oil industry in Uganda. 2. To investigate the effectiveness of project management practices in the Ugandan oil industry in terms 1 above. 3. Identify how project success can be measured in the Ugandan oil industry. A case study was the research technique adopted and interviews were conducted with the major stakeholders in the Ugandan oil industry. The research findings reveal the challenges and risks that continue to plague the Ugandan oil industry and the role of project management in the exploration phase of the project. The research findings were used to evaluate the role, responsibility and service that project management professionals are expected to render and the actual role, responsibility and service that the professionals have been rendering to the stakeholders in the Ugandan oil industry. The research then concludes by proposing ways of improving the chances of project success in the Ugandan oil industry.

Linking the Canfarm Farm Record System to a linear programming farm planning model

The farm record keeping system is frequently used by the farm business manager for historical accounting, mainly to satisfy institutional requirements for information, particularly that of taxation. Little emphasis has been placed on the record system as an aid in forward planning. Farm planning aids frequently ignore the record keeping aspect of farm business management and are generally unrelated to record keeping systems used on the farm. The Canfarm Farm Record System and the various Canfarm Farm Planning Packages are likewise unrelated. This lack of a comprehensive Managerial Information and Decision System for the Canadian farm business manager may, in part, account for the slow rate of adoption of computerized record keeping systems and farm planning aids. The objective of this study was to integrate the Canfarm Farm Record System with a farm planning model, in order to suggest a format for the future development of an extension oriented Managerial Information and Decision System. The specific objectives were: 1) to identify the Canfarm Farm Record System, the statements that are generated from the Record System and the accounting items which make up these statements; 2) to construct, document and validate a linear programming farm model which incorporates the information contained in the Canfarm Farm Record System and generates output in statements that are consistent (identical) with the Record System statements; and, 3) to develop recommendations for standardization of projected financial reports that existing models could adopt, and which could be incorporated into future models. A significant cost of using any system is the investment in time required to become acquainted with that system. Consequently, the fewer the concepts to be learned, the lower would be the cost of learning for both the extension agent and the farm business manager. In addition to reducing the number of new concepts, integrating a record system with the planning function provides the control link through the comparison of planned versus actual values that is not available with fragmented packages. These considerations, in conjunction with management theory and theories of the firm formed the theoretical background to this study. Linear programming was chosen as an appropriate solution method due to its lack of conceptual complexity, the availability of a suitable algorithm and its maximizing capabilities. The Canfarm Farm Record System was described in terms of its accounting concepts. The flow of data was shown, from the farmer's journal entries, through the various detailed reports, to the summary financial statements and to the Balance Sheet. Four reports, the Farm Operating Statement, the Income Statement, the Statement of Assets, Liabilities and Owners Equity (Balance Sheet), plus the Cash Flow Statement, were chosen as the basic reports to be generated by the model. The empirical work was shown to consist of several stages, from the capturing of the historical records, the formulation of the farm plan, the generation of the LP matrix, to the solution of the projected farm plan. A report writer converts the output from the LP solution and produces the four financial statements. The final stage is the control link, in which the projected reports are compared to the actual records as they become available. The model was designed to be applicable to a variety of farm planning situations, in addition to being able to link up with other models. It was therefore subjected to several tests, including a simulation run using case farm data from the Canfarm Farm Record System to test the model structure, integration with two different farm planning models to demonstrate its flexibility and comparison with the same data fed through the Canfarm Farm Record System. Once this stage was reached, other potential applications were outlined and then a recommendation was proposed for the adoption of a standardization base for future models as well as for wider applications of this model. / Land and Food Systems, Faculty of / Graduate

In this sense, it is necessary that the organizations know the importance of quality management to monitor and maintain product quality. It is important to consider the appropriate methods to adopt and implement quality management so that MSEs may develop a better understanding of how quality management systems should be implemented and the significant, positive impact they generate. This document proposes a model based on quality management and good practices, which frames a series of activities and criteria to provide an objective diagnosis. This model was developed based on information gathered from SMEs in the district of Santiago de Ica.

Work related stress amongst nurse managers in a rural district hospital in Limpopo Province

BACKGROUND Work related stress is a globally discussed and known phenomenon in countries irrespective of their stage of economic development. The nature of work related stress is harmful and uneconomic as it hampers productivity in the provision of quality services in organisations and give rise to undesirable socio-economic effects. Work related stress is a mismatch that occurs between an individual and the work environment, wherein the higher the imbalance between the external demands and an individual’s abilities. Nursing is noted for producing relatively high levels of stress due to the pressure-full and demanding nature of the job. Within nursing, nurse managers are noted to be specifically vulnerable to experiencing higher stress levels due to the stressful situations they are constantly facing, the higher the level of stress that will be experienced. Work related stress may have negative consequences for nurse managers such as lack of concern for themselves or their work and a negative self-image AIM AND OBJECTIVE The aim of this study was to explore and describe the perceptions of nurse managers in a rural public hospital regarding work related stress. METHOD The study was explorative and descriptive qualitative in nature. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with 33 nurse managers working at the designated hospital. By using content analysis five themes were identified: 1) Causes of work related stress, 2) Signs and symptoms of work related stress, 3) Consequences of work related stress, 4) Current strategies to cope with work related stress, 5) Recommended strategies to cope with work related stress. FINDINGS Nurse managers in the rural district hospital are aware of the nature of work related stress in their work, the causes and contributory factors, and several strategies they deem important to assist in the management of work related stress were recommended. CONCLUSION Nurse managers in a rural district hospital are exposed to high levels of work related stress due to the nature of their job and poor working conditions in the hospital. Recommendations to assist in the management of work related stress were made.
