No. of bitstreams: 1 Tomas Moraes Abreu Bonomi.pdf: 828021 bytes, checksum: 232f76283f8526bbf7cdd8c07714021f (MD5) Previous issue date: 2015-09-11 / Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior / The present work, inserted in the fundamental psychopathology field of study, is based on a clinical situation. The patient demands analysis because all her love relationships failed which caused intense suffering. After a few sessions the patient says she knows why her relationships come to an end: She stinks. The stench becomes a recurring theme during her analysis both in her speech as in her dreams, memories, fantasies, hallucinations and also in the transfer with the analyst. A clinical hypothesis is formulated in the terms of the stench being a defense mechanism. As theoretical foundation the following psychoanalytical concepts will be used: symptom, narcissism, defense mechanism, hallucinations, anxiety, femininity among others. Finally, are mapped different functions of the stench in the psychic dynamism and therefore discusses his role as psychic support base / O presente trabalho, inserido no campo de estudo da Psicopatologia Fundamental, tem como base a narrativa de um atendimento clínico.

"A presença das proteínas hMLH1 e hMSH6 do sistema de reparo do mau pareamento do DNA em queilites actínicas e carcinomas epidermóides de lábio" / The presence of proteins hMLH1 and hMSH6 of DNA mismatch repair system in actinic cheilitis and squamous cell carcinoma of the lip

Michelly Marin Peruzetto 05 May 2006 (has links)
Actinic cheilitis (AC) results from chronic and excessive exposure of the lips to the ultraviolet radiation in sunlight. AC is recognized as a potentially malignant condition and it is estimated that 10% to 20% will become lip squamous cell carcinoma (LSCC). It has been suggested that virtually every LSCC was initially AC. It is well known that solar radiation causes DNA damage and, in this context, the DNA repair systems play an extremely important role in restoring the injuries. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the participation of the mismatch repair (MMR) system in AC with all grades of dysplasia, as well as, LSCC related to AC. The protein expression and distribution of two of these genes, hMLH1 and hMSH6 were analyzed by means of immunohistochemistry. The results have shown an association between decreased expression of hMLH1 and hMSH6 proteins and the progression of the dysplasia in AC and, therefore, LSCC carcinogenesis. In addition, the hMSH6 protein does not seem to have a primary role in DNA repair of the normal lip epithelium.

[en] THE CHAMELEON BEFORE THE RAIBOW THE DEGENATION OF TOSTE IN NELSON RODRIGUES / [pt] O CAMALEÃO DIANTE DO ARCO-ÍRIS A DENEGAÇÃO DO MAU GOSTO EM NELSON RODRIGUES

JOSE CARVALHO DE AZEVEDO 26 February 2003 (has links)
[en] Nelson Rodrigues, in many ocasions, pronounced himself favorable to the restoration of bad taste in the work of art, leading critics, journalists and, consequently, the public opinion in general, to seing himself as partaking in the Kitsch movement. Nevertheless, as we invade his work, in which highlight the reading of the romance - O casamento -, we notice that Nelson apropriates the qualities of Kitsch in a very particular fashion, not to say it special. To expose the principles that rule such - kitsching - operation is our subjective.

Travessias e labirintos em Mau tempo no canal: romance de formação (Bildungsroman) açoriano / Crossings and labyrinths in Bad weather in the channel: bildungsroman azorean

Ramos, Rita de Cassia 16 September 2016 (has links)
Bildungsroman relates to a novel form of Germanic origin. It is a literary form that expresses the conflict between the individual and the world of a character during his training period (Bildung). In the twentieth century, this genre has established itself as a productive concept in almost all national literatures of European or American origin. In this paper, we analyze relevant moments of the trajectory of formation of the protagonist, Margaret Clark Dulmo where it conflicts with the provincial mentality of the Azorean patriarchal society of the early twentieth century, in order to investigate the hypothesis that Bad Weather in Canal Vitorino Nemesio, can be considered as a \"formation romance\" (Bildungsroman) Azores.

Psicoterapia breve operacionalizada em gestantes diabéticas 1 com mau controle glicêmico / Operationalized Brief Psychotherapy in diabetic 1 pregnant women with deficient glycemic control

Livia Maria Ramos Batista 10 December 2015 (has links)
Cecília e Beatriz obtiveram melhora no diagnóstico adaptativo. The health ministry adverts that Diabetes Mellitus is a public health concern due to its high prevalence rate. Studies demonstrate the existing relation between the psychodynamic functioning of patients with type 1 diabetes mellitus and the glycemic control. Considering that the adequate glycemic control minimizes risks for the mother, fetus and the future baby, it reinforces the importance of psychotherapeutic treatment during the pregnancy. However, there arent any researches on Operationalized Brief Psychotherapy (OBP) as a therapeutic technique for this kind of population. The aim of the research was to investigate the possibilities and the limits of OBP in the treating of pregnant women with type 1 diabetes mellitus with deficient glycemic control. The methodology used for the research was the clinical-qualitative method. The study involved four pregnant women with DM1 with deficient glycemic control. The women were appointed by the Obstetric Clinic of the Hospital das Clínicas da Faculdade de Medicina from the University of São Paulo, place where they were already being treated. The instruments employed were Psychological Interviews, the Operationalized Adaptive Diagnosis Scale and Operationalized Brief Psychotherapy. The women who agreed to take part in the research signed a consent form that, after read and explained, was then signed by the research agent and the subjects. Two or three initial interviews took place for the Operationalized Adaptive Diagnosis and the planning of the. The number of sessions employed for the OPB was defined in accordance to the adaptive diagnosis of the subject and their problem-situation. The interviews and the psychotherapeutic sessions lasted 45 minutes with the frequency of once a week. The analysis of the results was made through the comparison between the operationalized adaptive diagnosis done before and after the OPB. During these periods, it was verified if there were any adaptive changes in the subjects and, moreover, the analysis of any alterations in the glycemic control before and after the OPB. The research showed that there were changes in the adaptive group to which the subjects belonged. Cecília and Beatriz had an improvement in the adaptive diagnosis. Through the analysis of the evolution of the glycemic control, it was possible to verify alterations during the OPB: the percentage of both hypoglycemia and severe hypoglycemia showed improvement; however, the percentage of altered rates and of hyperglycemia showed a downturn throughout the pregnancy and, even with the OPB, a strict diet control and insulin therapy, including during admissions, were hardly controlled. From the four pregnant women in the study, two of them had an adaptive crisis and the solution found by them was satisfactory. What can restrict the therapeutic process is the persisting negative transference, however, it can be minimized. The possibilities of the OPB in the treatment of pregnant women with DM1 found with the research were: improving the efficiency of the adaptation, assisting patients in crisis to resolve them without losses in adaptation efficiency and, make patients more able to find more adequate solutions to their problem-situations

The pursuit of the 'good forest' in Kenya, c.1890-1963 : the history of the contested development of state forestry within a colonial settler state

Fanstone, Ben Paul January 2016 (has links)
This is a study of the creation and evolution of state forestry within colonial Kenya in social, economic, and political terms. Spanning Kenya’s entire colonial period, it offers a chronological account of how forestry came to Kenya and grew to the extent of controlling almost two million hectares of land in the country, approximately 20 per cent of the most fertile and most populated upland (above 1,500 metres) region of central Kenya . The position of forestry within a colonial state apparatus that paradoxically sought to both ‘protect’ Africans from modernisation while exploiting them to establish Kenya as a ‘white man’s country’ is underexplored in the country’s historiography. This thesis therefore clarifies this role through an examination of the relationship between the Forest Department and its African workers, Kenya’s white settlers, and the colonial government. In essence, how each of these was engaged in a pursuit for their own idealised ‘good forest’. Kenya was the site of a strong conservationist argument for the establishment of forestry that typecast the country’s indigenous population as rapidly destroying the forests. This argument was bolstered against critics of the financial extravagance of forestry by the need to maintain and develop the forests of Kenya for the express purpose of supporting the Uganda railway. It was this argument that led the colony’s Forest Department along a path through the contradictions of colonial rule. The European settlers of Kenya are shown as being more than just a mere thorn in the side of the Forest Department, as their political power represented a very real threat to the department’s hegemony over the forests. Moreover, Kenya’s Forest Department deeply mistrusted private enterprise and constantly sought to control and limit the unsustainable exploitation of the forests. The department was seriously underfunded and understaffed until the second colonial occupation of the 1950s, a situation that resulted in a general ad hoc approach to forest policy. The department espoused the rhetoric of sustainable exploitation, but had no way of knowing whether the felling it authorised was actually sustainable, which was reflected in the underdevelopment of the sawmilling industry in Kenya. The agroforestry system, shamba, (previously unexplored in Kenya’s colonial historiography) is shown as being at the heart of forestry in Kenya and extremely significant as perhaps the most successful deployment of agroforestry by the British in colonial Africa. Shamba provided numerous opportunities to farm and receive education to landless Kikuyu in the colony, but also displayed very strong paternalistic aspects of control, with consequential African protest, as the Forest Department sought to create for itself a loyal and permanent forest workforce. Shamba was the keystone of forestry development in the 1950s, and its expansion cemented the position of forestry in Kenya as a top-down, state-centric agent of economic and social development.

Intimidation as a factor in the liberation struggle in South Africa with special reference to Bela Bela (Warmbaths) : an anthropological perspective

INTIMIDATION AS A FACTOR IN THE LIBERATION STRUGGLE OF SOUTH AFRICA WITH SPECIAL REFERENCE TO BELA BELA (WARMBATHS): AN ANTHROPOLOGICAL PERSPECTIVE The cultural revitalisation or adjustment model of Anthony Wallace provides a basis for interpreting religious, political and other revitalisation movements. This study focuses on political revitalisation movements. Participation in the activities of revitalisation movements does not always occur voluntarily. Leaders of such movements apply techniques and methods of intimidation enforcing change and participation. In South Africa, political revitalisation was inter alia brought about by the ANC as political liberation movement who used methods of violent and non-violent intimidation to force people, regardless of their ethnic affiliation, to support the movement and enforce political change. The ANC inter alia used charactersitic cultural phenomena and components of Bantu-speakers as resources for intimidation to ensure unanimity, participation and ultimately to achieve political liberation. Cultural components that were exploited included communality, group solidarity, administration of justice, songs and dances. / INTIMIDASIE AS 'N FAKTOR IN DIE VRYHEIDSTRYD IN SUID-AFRIKA MET SPESIALE VERWYSING NA BELA BELA (WARMBAD): 'N ANTROPOLOGIESE PERSPEK.TIEF Kulturele vernuwmg ts 'n universele verskynsel.
