The present thesis examines the affectations of the tensions between social fields on the practice of journalism on the WEB, permeated by logics developed in the mediatization environment. It investigates how these tensions result in conflicts and ruptures, where new forms of control and censorship become visible and utturable on the mediatized web journalism. A complex study that examines the connection between the mechanisms and scope of these tensions and their impact on news production, which emerge from power and resistance relations experienced on the Internet and society. This way, we develop a theoretical reflection based on concepts that guided our investigation, among those concepts we highlight mediatization, circulation, tension between social fields, resistance and power. We also conducted empirical description and analysis, with hybrid methodology, of three news events, mediated in the WEB, and so named, Pleas for free Internet, Double contention and Duel between a politician and a blogger. After watching them and study them in their processes; we inferred that the Brazilian web journalism is wrapped in tensions and confrontations between social fields - in which actions of control, censorship and resistance are perceived -, in relationships that become more and more complex in the face of the increasing society mediatization and the arrival of the technology of power to the Net.

ENTRE A CRISE E A NOTÍCIA: AS ESTRATÉGIAS ORGANIZACIONAIS DA AIR FRANCE E A CONSTRUÇÃO DO ACONTECIMENTO VOO 447 PELA MÍDIA IMPRESSA BRASILEIRA E FRANCESA / BETWEEN THE CRISIS AND THE NEWS: AIR FRANCE S ORGANIZATIONAL STRATEGIES AND THE CONSTRUCTION OF AF 447 OCCURRENCE BY BRAZILIAN AND FRENCH PRESS MEDIA

Pérsigo, Patrícia Milano 18 March 2011 (has links)
Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior / This dissertation studies the strategies of an organization under a crisis situation in the construction of a journalistic occurrence in a mediatized society. There are constant challenges to be overcome by organizations, visibility processes are constantly being changed by new technologies advent, changes in the media s role and the appropriation of their approaches by various social fields on their daily practices. This are just some changes which require reflection about crisis management strategies adopted until nowadays. The organizational crises present themselves as very explored occurrences by the media. These events are characterized by the disruption of everyday s life, mainly by its unpredictability, that's the fact that arouses wide interest in the media field. With the method of content analysis (Bardin, 1977) we adopted as our empirical object the crisis faced by Air France with the tragedy of Flight 447, analyzing news in Folha de São Paulo and Le Monde s newspapers. Thus, we persue to study the impact of this crisis in French and Brazilian media, to verify the sources used by the media in the occurrence construction, as well as the position given to the organization in the news published, identifying the organization's strategies to mitigate the incident, and understanding the strategic nature of the interface press -company in crisis situations in news production. So, as a result of this research, we concluded that in this crisis the organization has adopted and maintained a concise and objective position in addition to technical measures taken to circumvent the situation. This triggered another kind of relationship with the media, where what was witnessed was not an Air France's image crisis, but on the other hand, the occurrence "447" was explored as a tragedy. So, what stands out in this scenario is that between the crisis and the news, the news prevailed.

The Lebanese citizenship grappling with the new and traditional media in the face of religious and community conflicts ; amplification or reduction of fractures ?

Bou Dagher, Edmond 08 March 2018 (has links)
The title of our thesis is: “The Lebanese citizenship grappling with the new and traditional Medias, facing religious and community conflicts; amplifications or reductions of fractures?” Our thesis in the first place is a question asked about multiculturalism which constitutes the Lebanese society, specifies it, and represents sociocultural and sociopolitical wealth which interests the Information and Communication Sciences. The Audiovisual and Electronic Media (Web Sites, Electronic Newspapers, Internet Blogs, etc.) will be the source likely to feed all these cultural, political, economic, ethnic and religious faces.Since a long time, the Lebanese politically confessional reality is more or less impregnated by the traditional Media, and recently the new Media or Web Sites. The Lebanese structure of citizenship would be based in priority on four fundamental conditions: Community, Media, Citizen and State. The Lebanese Citizen belongs by nature to a community in which he is bound to others by bonds of religion which gives the Lebanese a particular feeling of identity. Thereby, the religious community, always seeks to defend itself and to express itself in order to preserve its existence and its continuity, and this is done by the Media: each community has its own media, which is its spokesperson. Thus, the community mediatized with all its rites and political-community convictions occupy the forefront of Lebanese concerns. While the principles of citizenships and state for a large number of Lebanese occupy the secondary rank.It is in this area that we will analyze during our research the contemporary face of public opinion possibly enlightened by the new technology of communication, the opinion mediatized as well as the politico-social vision presented by the daily newspapers.

Rejecting the Page, Inciting Visuality: Staging 'Woyzeck' in a Mediatized Culture

Conway, Elisha 14 January 2013 (has links)
The influence of new media on theatrical practice over the past fifty years has spurred a movement towards theatrical forms which are increasingly organized around the sensory elements of performance. This change is most noticeable in the visual approaches to theatre, and it has produced what I have labeled a theatre of visuality. This thesis argues that the tendencies for visualization found in visual media have extensively marked the performance strategies of contemporary theatre practice, resulting in a shift away from the logocentric dramatic text and towards theatre performance organized around the visual. Looking at four contemporary productions of Georg Buchner’s Woyzeck –Thomas Ostermeier’s Woyzeck (2005), Vesturport’s Woyzeck (2005), Robert Wilson’s Woyzeck (2000), and Josef Nadj’s Woyzeck ou l’Ébauche du Vertige (1994)– this thesis produces a preliminary typology of four distinct visualities/theatrical forms which make up the theatre of visuality: hyperrealism, synesthesia, superficiality, and visual narration. This thesis contributes to the conceptualization and understanding of postdramatic theatre by linking the theatre’s rejection of the text to the increased centrality of the visual in performance, and by tracing these shifts to the influence of visual media.

Unstable acts : a practitioner's case study of the poetics of postdramatic theatre and intermediality

Fenton, David Raymond January 2007 (has links)
This practice-led research enquiry examines the form and experience of postdramatic theatre and intermediality. Through three practice-led enquiry cycles, the performance, Unstable Acts, was created. The study was designed to introduce the practitioner to a new process of practice within a postmodern aesthetic and to investigate the theory and practice of intermedial performance. Accordingly, Unstable Acts generated moments of praxis concerning postdramatic theatre and intermediality. By analysing this praxis an increasingly complex understanding of de-representational performance, the liminal experience, percipience, reflection and intermediality in postdramatic theatre was developed. In responding to Unstable Acts, the study proposes a working model for the poetics of postdramatic theatre which places intermediality as a formal recurrence of the postdramatic form. The model also proposes that the postdramaturgical strategy of de-representational performance is a central stylistic quality of postdramatic form, and that the liminal experience is central to the postdramatic theatre experience. Connecting de-representation and liminality through queer theory, the model contends that reflection is an important aspect of both the form and experience of postdramatic theatre. In so doing, the study provides a clearer understanding for theorists and practitioners of the poetics of postdramatic theatre and the position of intermediality in postdramatic practice.

In Paulo Freire we find a concept of dialogue which expresses itself, fundamentally, in two dimension: on one hand, in the confluence of subjectivities; on the other, in action. Dialogue would not be, therefore, a thinking for , but a thinking with . On the other hand, the media, here understood as synonym of technical media of information and expression is spread all over society as synonym of communication media. In this direction, this paper intends to check if the media allows the dialogue, in the heart of the Freirean concept of communication. We start from the premise that it is not possible to come to an answer if we continue to accept the theoretical approach which polarizes the process of communication between emitter and receptor. By using elements of the ethnomethodology such as the analysis of the conversation and the reflexivity, we dived in the school everyday life of educators and students of an elementary level public school in the city of Natal, capital of Rio Grande do Norte, in order to, through some experiences with the media, corroborate Paulo Freire's ideas, stating the mediation made by the world and seeking a bias for the use of the media to enable a more dialogic education / O di?logo figura como condi??o essencial para a plena efetiva??o da Comunica??o.
