Oliveira, Fernanda Areias de January 2016 (has links)
This research is dedicated to investigates ways of the invention in art; that uses as a basis for this construction, the technical and technological materiality. We start from an action research, which aimed to develop possible methodologies for the inclusion of content related to the intermedial scene, in the formation of drama teachers. We systematized a study of case, starting from two contemporary art productions: Shary Boyle and Colecttif Lebovitz. We approached from their creative processes with the machinic, highlighting in his ways, the development of a technical mentality associated with knowledge of the stages of concretization of the device, invention cycles, and relevant creative modulations to processes in a group. In parallel, we organized extension courses for Undergraduate Drama Teachers of UFMA and UFRGS universities, to experience ways to stage and appreciate the intermedial scene, starting from an ethical/aesthetic perspective, shifting the humanist or technicalities primacy, for a correlation to the individuation process between man and machine. That change of perspective, in the context of this investigation, led to the construction of the discipline Laboratory of Art, Technology and Education. This compulsory curricular component in the UFMA degree in theater acts as an articulator of technical mentality, focused on teaching and appreciation of Intermedial scene in the formative context of undergraduate drama teachers in Brazil.

Caracterização do manejo de bezerras, da qualidade nutricional e microbiológica do colostro e da atitude do tratador de bezerras / Characterization of the dairy calves\' management, nutritional and microbiological quality of colostrum and handler attitude

Glauber dos Santos 06 February 2015 (has links)
One cause of the low dairy calves performance is related to failures during colostrum feeding process, because it may have low nutritional and microbiological quality. After this initial period of life, the dairy calves performance is under direct influence of the handler. In an attempt to identify weak points in the dairy calves raising systems the study aimed to characterize the dairy calves management, through a survey of the main husbandry adopted practices, assess the nutritional and microbiological composition of colostrum and the calves handler attitude. To characterize the dairy calves raising system an interview with 179 producers and / or field technicians, addressing issues related to creation of calves from the dry cow management until weaning, was held. To characterize colostrum quality, 66 samples were collected directly from recently calved cows or colostrum bank, for chemical and microbiological analyzes. The evaluation of the attitude of calves handlers was conducted by interviewing 100 handlers, which allowed the collection of self-reported data. The interview was conducted based on a semi-structured questionnaire applied by a single interviewer and directed to calves handler. The items of attitude were measured and ranked according to the handler\'s response on a five point scale (Likert scale). Through the survey it was possible to identify areas for improvement in the dairy calves system of production, especially with pre-partum cows and monitoring of deliveries, and better care with the colostrum feeding process as to identifying the quality of colostrum to the correct feeding time for the newborn. Management practices aimed to obtain good quality colostrum must be priorities besides, care with sanitation during the harvest and storage of the same, since only 22.6% of colostrum samples meet the recommendation of nutritional and microbiological quality. Thus, most of the calves in the studied population are likely to present failures in the transfer of passive immunity and exposed to pathogens when fed colostrum. For some variables the handler has a positive attitude, but in practice the behavior performed is not always the same. It is possible that the calves handlers have positive affective and cognitive components, in other words, have had previous experience of successful practices or even know the technical importance of the main practices in dairy calves raising. However, the behavioral component stands on some actions, leading them to a divergence between the attitude and behavior. Programs for education, training and commitment of employees are an interesting way to reduce the low performance of dairy calves.

Aline Matos de Amorim 00 July 2018 (has links)
This study intends to analyze some popular narrative poems known in Brazil as âCordeis de Metamorfoseâ in order to identify residues of medieval mentality regarding sin and punishment in the imagery portrayed by popular poets from northeast Brazil. The idea of sin was transmitted to us as a transgression of divine laws. In the Middle Ages, this conception was propagated by Catholic Church as a way of combating vices, almost always with regard to capital sins, and of disciplining the conduct of Christians. Although many centuries separate us from the Middle Ages, the Christian medieval mentality is still fairly entrenched in our culture. Therefore, in this work, we present an analysis of the notion of sin and its possible implications in the medieval context with the aim of demonstrating the residual presence of that matter in Cordel Literature, a kind of artistic popular manifestation. We show this presence from the research of those popular narrative poems that tell stories in which some characters transgress moral and/or religious principles and, for this reason, are transfigured into animals as punishment. Therefore, in the poems we analyzed, physical metamorphosis is considered a punishment, a mean of social exclusion that asserts the permanence of a medieval worldview. For a long time, this view distinguished and ignored minorities that were seen as individuals without good social practices. In order to understand how such mentality about sin and its consequences are present in the poetic work of the popular poets from northeast Brazil and, therefore, in the popular imagery, we make use of the Theory of Residuality. According to this theory, residues from the past and from an ancient culture remain in other cultures and in other times, which allow us to talk about residual heritage, in other words, there are cultural and mental sediments crystallized in the imagery portrayed by popular poets. Furthermore, we rely on studies of medievalists in order to understand better the Middle Ages, mainly the Late Middle Ages. Thus, popular literature is the starting point of a multidisciplinary and comparative study, as far as it interacts with other types of literary texts, as well as historiographic texts. It revisits important works of literature in the same way it reveals the mental subtract of the medieval social formations and of the residual culture of northeast Brazil that brings us to the imagery hybridized from the Middle Ages.

Prvky multikulturality v corporate identity firem v ČR / Elements of Multiculturalism in Corporate Identity of Companies in Czech Republic

Neuwirthová, Magda January 2010 (has links)
Dealing with the subject of multiculturalism, this dissertation thesis investigates the elements of Japanese, Korean, and American national mentalities in the management of companies located in the Czech Republic. The main goal of this thesis is to identify these elements in corporate culture, find out, which of them lead to the most conflict situations, and suggest procedures to identify and eliminate resulting problems. On a more general level, this thesis provides basic characteristics of business environment and the approaches of world philosophers, anthropologists and sociologists. This thesis further identifies specific multicultural elements in organizations, and suggests its own model of multicultural corporate identity and a model for the identification of conditions that, when fulfilled, lead to strong corporate identity. This thesis also characterizes Czech cultural environment and compares it with that of Japan, Korea and the USA, based on surveys of well recognized Czech sociologists. The main emphasis of this thesis lies on the examination of corporate identity of American, Japanese, and Korean management. Based on a questionnaire survey, four major conflict areas of investigated cultures are identified. These are different opportunities within the company, non-economic use of time, the way of managing company meetings, and the way individual work is presented. In the last section of the thesis, possible solutions to these conflicts situations are provided.

Pády jiných světů / The collapses of distant worlds

Kozina, Václav January 2015 (has links)
Diploma thesis "The collapses of distant worlds" deals with interpretations of the conquista of Mexico and Peru (i.e. the conquests of Aztec and Inca empires). The basic question, which all the works considering the conquista deal with, is: how could the arrival of small groups of Spanish conquerors disrupt great Indian empires in such a short time? My thesis has two main goals: to define the typology of interpretations of the conquista and offer my own interpretation which places emphasis on the role of mentalities and cultural complexes. I have distinguished four basic types of interpretations of the conquista: 1. the metaphysical ones; 2. the technological ones; 3. the environmental ones; 4. the mentalistic ones. I used the conception of mentalities (derived from the work of Lucien Lévy-Bruhl) and the system conception of cultur, where I worked with the term "cultural complex" especially. After my approach the conquista represented the clash between two different types of mentalities: the archaic one (which Indian societies featured) and the literary one (which was developed in European societies). Differences in mentalities and cultural complexes provided advantages to the Spaniards in their struggles with the Aztecs and the Incas. So finally the Spanish conquest of Indian empires is...

Odlišná mentalita jako původce mezinárodních konfliktů. Případ eskalace vztahů mezi Ruskem a EU v období 2008-2018 / Different Mentality as a basis of international conflicts. The case of escalation relations between Russia and the EU in 2008 - 2018.

Kruglikova, Ekaterina January 2019 (has links)
Since 2008 with the Russo-Georgian war we observe the gradual deterioration of relations between Russia and the European Union which achieves its apogee during the Ukrainian crisis and the annexation of Crimea. The cultural approach is to be applied for understanding and exploration of the conflict: its reasons and mechanism. The work is aimed to define conflicting beliefs and values, considering them on a cultural basis. The current escalation of relationships is reviewed as a cultural conflict, the author claims different mentality as one of the influential factors and possible dimensions of conflict analysis. This work also points out internal cultural mechanisms and features provoking aggressive external policy and considers cultural identity as a container of ideas which justify and originate opposition and conflict with other cultures. This work is an attempt to introduce a concept of an individual's mentality, to link personal and group mentality and find out how cultural meaning content influences on formation of a personal mindset - a system of personal beliefs and values. Research part consists of preliminary comparative questionnaire-based survey with 30 respondents, secondary analysis of World Value Survey, and 10 depth interviews based on 3 survey questions, analyzed by means of mental...

En kamouflerad tiger? -En kvantitativ studie kring ungdomars moderna svenska kulturella identitet

Rönnqvist, Frans, Hellman, Carl January 2008 (has links)
The purpose of this essay was to examine which historical events and concepts that are the unifying cement of the Swedish cultural identity for today’s youths. We have made a quantitative study on Pauliskolan, a high school in Malmoe. The poll focuses on questions about the Swedish post-war identity. Neutrality and the Swedish welfare state are examples of concepts that we have highlighted. We analyse our material by using current research about identity and Swedish mentality. The result of the study shows that the Swedish post-war identity is still strongly present among youths in our study. This can be explained through a combination of narrative identity and camouflaged swedification.
