Austin is the self-proclaimed “Live Music Capital of the World,” and its commitment to the practice of musical performance has created a unique environment for musicians and audiences. In particular, this paper focuses on the history of music in public places in Austin. This creative identity has helped encourage growth that creates stress on cultural and social relations. The conflict over amplified music is one front where this opposition plays out. Currently, the Austin noise ordinance is a decibel-based, quantifiable measurement, but everyone involved must make a greater effort to communicate and compromise in the social sphere. Reduction of Simultaneous Switching Noise in Analog Signal Band on a Chip

In the era of VLSI the technological advancements have lead us to integrate not only digital circuits of high device density but both digital and analog circuits on to the same chip. In recent years the number of devices on a chip has spectacularly increased, all because of the downward scaling in sizes of the devices. But because of this dramatic scaling the devices have become more sensitive to the power-ground noise. Now in designing a mix signal system within single silicon die that has high speed digital circuits along with high performance analog circuits the digital switching noise becomes a foremost concern for the correct functioning of the system. The purpose of the thesis is to evaluate the reduction of Simultaneous Switching Noise in analog signal band with in the chip. The experiment is done by the use of DCVSL circuits combined with a novel method of implementation, instead of the common static circuits in the core design. These DCVSL circuits have the property to draw periodic currents from the power supply. So if the circuit draws equal amount of current at each clock cycle independent of the input fed to it, the generated noise’s frequency content, produced due to current spikes will then be shifted above the input clock frequency. The idea is to reduce Simultaneous Switching Noise (SSN) by half of the clock frequency in the frequency band. This frequency band often contains to the analog signal band of a digital-to-analog converter. To evaluate the method two pipelined adders have been implemented in 0.13 μm CMOS technology. The proposed method (test circuit) is implemented using DCVSL techniques and the reference circuit using static CMOS logic. For testing of the design we generated the input data on-chip. The pseudo-random data is generated by implementing two different length PRBS. We have also implemented a ROM containing specific test patterns. In the end, we have achieved a 10 dB decrease of noise level at the substrate node on the chip.

Šio darbo tikslas – nustatyti Kauno miesto transporto keliamo triukšmo lygį seniūnijose, įvertinti individualią ekspoziciją ir ištirti ekspozicijos ryšį su hipertenzijos atvejais. Siekiant nustatyti triukšmo lygį Kauno mieste, 2012 metais atliktas triukšmo matavimo tyrimas bei analizę, taip pat tyrimui naudoti Kauno miesto savivaldybės strateginiam triukšmo žemėlapiui rengti sukaupti triukšmo matavimo duomenys, atlikta jų analizę, siekiant palyginti triukšmo lygio kitimo rezultatus 2006 ir 2012 metais. Triukšmo lygiai Kauno miesto seniūnijose svyravo nuo 55,9 dBA iki 73,8 dBA. Tyliausias mikrorajonas – Panemunė, čia vidutinis triukšmo lygis siekia tik 61,6 dBA. Triukšmingiausias mikrorajonas – Eiguliai, kur triukšmo lygis siekia 70,8 dBA. Dainavos mikrorajone užfiksuotas toks pat triukšmo lygis, koks buvo išmatuotas 2006 metais rengiant strateginį triukšmo žemėlapį – 70 dBA. Koreliacinis ryšys tarp 2006 metais išmatuoto ir sumodeliuoto transporto triukšmo lygio Kauno mieste yra – 0,5159. Modeliavimo paklaida triukšmo taršai (dBA) buvo 4,2. Ryšiui tarp gyvenamosios vietovės, transporto keliamo triukšmo ir hipertenzijos paplitimo, nustatyti atliktas epidemiologinis atvejis – kontrolė tyrimas, kuris apima visą miesto teritoriją. Tyrime dalyvavo 3189 moterys, kurių amžius buvo nuo 18 iki 45 metų, iš kurių atvejų grupę sudarė 433 moterys , kurių arterinis kraujospūdis buvo 140/90 mm/Hg ar didesnis, o likusios 2756 moterys – kontrolės grupę, kurioms hipertenzinė liga nenustatyta... [toliau žr. visą tekstą] / The goal of this work is to evaluate noise levels in local neighborhoods of Kaunas city, to assess individual exposure and to investigate the connection between Kaunas city traffic noise and arterial hypertension for working age women. To determine the noise level in the city of Kaunas, in 2012 there was made the noise measurement survey and analysis, also for the investigation was used data from strategic noise map of Kaunas City, as well there was made a data analysis to compare changes in noise level results in 2006 and 2012 years. Noise levels in Kaunas city neighborhoods ranged from 55.9 dBA to 73.8 dBA. The quietest place - Panemune, where the average noise level of only 61.6 dBA. Most exposed residential neighborhood - Eiguliai where the noise level to 70.8 dB. In Dainava district there was recorded the same noise level as measured in 2006 in strategic noise map - 70 dBA. Correlation between the measured and modeled traffic noise levels in Kaunas in 2006 year is - 0.5159. Noise pollution modeling error (dBA) was 4,2. To establish the connection between the place of residence, traffic noise and hypertension prevalence was used an epidemiological case - control study which includes the entire territory of the city. The study includes 3,189 women between the ages ranged from 18 to 45 years, case group consisted of 433 women, whose blood pressure was 140/90 mm/Hg or higher, while the remaining 2,756 women - the control group with hypertensive disease have been identified... Šiame darbe nagrinėjama triukšmo ir vibracijų problema, kurią sudaro pravažiuojantys traukiniai geležinkelio linijomis. Pravažiuojančių traukinių išspinduliuojamas triukšmas ir vibracijos daro neigiamą poveikį į aplinką, ir gyventojams, kurie gyvena šalia geležinkelio. Darbe išanalizuoti Europos Sąjungos (ES) bei Lietuvos Respublikos triukšmo mažinimo politikos pagrindiniai aspektai bei teisinė bazė. Darbe pabrėžiama, kad didžiausias prioritetas, vykdant triukšmo mažinimo politiką, turi būti skiriamas toms sritims, kurios yra numatytos ES valstybių veiksmų programose. Akcentuojamas bendradarbiavimas susietas su ES šalių vietos valdžios institucijomis. Aptariamos pagrindinės triukšmo charakteristikos remiantis moksline literatūra ir atliktais savais triukšmo parametrų matavimais. Atlikto triukšmo bei virpesių poveikio tyrimai geležinkelių transporte, kuris praeina pro gyvenvietę. Praktinis triukšmo tyrimas buvo atliktas natūraliomis sąlygomis, matuojant triukšmo lygį pagal laiką ir jo spektrą. Taip pat naudojant gyventojų apklausos ir interviu metodus, ištirtas triukšmo ir vibracijų poveikis į žmonių gyvenimą. Tyrimo rezultatai analizuojami ir vertinami pagal jų parametrų dydį ir daromą poveikį gyventojams. Remiantis atliktų tyrimų rezultatais sudarytos rekomendacijos triukšmo sumažinimui. Passing trains radiate noise and vibrations which exert a negative influence on both the environment and the people residing close by the railway. Both the legal data bases and the standards towards the suppression of noise pollution, as outlined by the European Union (EU) and the Republic of Lithuania, have been analyzed by the author. The work emphasizes that the highest priority in noise elimination politics should be given to the areas regulated by the EU action plans. Collaborations between the local EU institutions should also be accentuated. The analysis of the basic characteristic of noise is based on the scientific resources / literature and the author’s measurements. The side effects of noise and vibration created by the passing of trains have been researched in settlement areas. The empirical investigation of the noise has been carried out in the natural surroundings; the level of noise has been measured according to its spectrum and time. The effects of noise and vibration on the quality of human life have also been defined using the methods of inquiry and interview. The results of the investigation have been analyzed and assessed according to the magnitude of the parameters and the produced effects on the residents. Baigiamajame magistro darbe nagrinėjamas orlaivių sukeliamas triukšmas gyvenamojoje aplinkoje. Analizuojamas triukšmo susidarymas įvairiose orlaivių judėjimo situacijose: orlaiviams kylant, leidžiantis ir judant oro uosto teritorijoje. Vertinama Tarptautinio Vilniaus oro uosto triukšmo lygių bei dažnių charakteristikų sklaida į greta oro uosto esančias gyvenamas teritorijas. Darbą sudaro 4 skyriai. Pirmajame skyriuje apžvelgiama garso fizikinė prasmė, triukšmo šaltiniai, problema bei poveikis. Antrajame skyriuje aprašomi tyrimo objektai, pateikiama matavimo vietų charakteristika bei eksperimentinė orlaivių keliamo triukšmo tyrimų metodika. Trečiajame skyriuje pateiti skirtingas funkcijas atliekančių orlaivių tyrimų rezultatai bei analizė. Ketvirtajame skyriuje pateikiama kylančių, besileidžiančių ir oro uosto teritorijoje judančių orlaivių keliamo triukšmo modeliavimo rezultatai taikant programą „IMMI“. Analyzing the generation of noise in various situations: aircraft take-off and landing and movement of the aircrafts in airport area. Treating the spread of noise levels and frequency characteristics of the International Vilnius Airport to the nearby airport located residential areas. The work consists of four chapters. The first chapter provides an overview of sound physical meaning, sources of noise, the problem and the impact. The second chapter describes the objects of research, the characteristics of measured locations (places) as well as experimental aircraft noise research methodology. The third chapter presents the different functions for aircraft research results and analysis. The fourth chapter provides modeling results caused noices due aircraft take-off, landing and movements in airport area, using the „IMMI“ program. Also contains general conclusions, bibliography, and a list of publications on this topic. Volume of the work - 92 p. text without attachments, 64 pictures (illustrations), 10 tables and 52 bibliographic sources.
