RSE : La contribution des ONG à la Performance globale des entreprises responsables / CSR : The contribution of NGOs to the overall performance of responsible companies

Zerigui, Mehdi 20 November 2017 (has links)
This doctoral thesis in management sciences questions the impacts of collaborations between companies and the non-governmental sphere. It takes into consideration the extent to which the NGOs contribute to the overall performance of firms through their social responsibility. The state-of-the-art of the key words with regards to our topic has highlighted a threefold expansion within companies: first, an openness of their governance which translates into the introduction of new stakeholders in the core of the society; secondly, a deepening of performance that is no longer observed solely from an economic and financial perspective but also from its social and environmental aspects; and finally, the development of performance measurement tools. As a matter of fact, economic reporting is now complemented by sustainable development reports. This expansion of measurement tools is sometimes characterized as an integrated reporting that systematizes the link between the financial and the extra-financial.The challenges of this qualitative research with an exploratory aim are threefold: firstly, it addresses understanding the involvement of the actors by characterizing their posture within partnerships but also by shedding light on their motivations to collaborate. Secondly, it is necessary to determine the modalities of the partnerships that exist between the firms and the NGOs, specifying the notion of "dialogue" and the characteristics of strategic partnerships. Finally, this research addresses measuring the contribution of NGOs to the overall performance by analyzing its impacts under the prism of a four-axial performance and more specifically using the methodology of Integrated Reporting. Our research has been materialized through a documentary and a statistical study of 301 companies and NGOs that revolved around their socio-economic sphere. Based on this sample, we further conducted 44 semi-structured interviews with companies and NGOs and completed our research with a case study on the strategic partnership between Michelin and WWF. In this case study we have on one hand interviewed internal stakeholders, such as those in charge of cooperation, and on the other hand, external stakeholders, such as the Deputy Managing Director of the International Integrated Reporting Council (IIRC) ) and the General Manager of the Union of Professionals for Tires (Syndicat des Professionnels du Pneu - SPP).

Le don en situation de communication : la communication d'une ONG ou comment les donateurs sont amenés à agir par leurs dons d'argent / Giving in communication situation : communication of an NGO or how donors are required to act through their gifts of money

Laurent, Coralie 06 March 2017 (has links)
This thesis is devoted to the issue of donation in the humanitarian sector, from the perspective of individual donors who are rarely questioned about this subject. NGOs are increasingly present in the public eye and use, among other strategies, emotions to incite people to donate. However, since the theme of the gift has been studied (for example, by the anthropologist Marcel Mauss, mainly), we should be based on the analysis related to this theme and also focus on a French NGO ("Aide et Action") whose main sphere of action relates to education and has established the sponsorship. The organization operates in different countries in order to help vulnerable people, including children, through various actions based on long-term development. In this work, it is mainly to understand why do individual donors of this NGO, both weekly and quarterly and those referred to as "sponsors", give money. The fieldwork has been carried out through two questionnaires, one for each type of donors, in which questions were asked, in particular, about how the NGO communicates with donors, prompting thereby to continue their investment. Subsequently, interviews have strengthened data provided by the questionnaires.

Voluntariado e participação política: o caso da ONG Teto / Volunteering and political participation: the case of NGO Teto

Kawata, Ligia Chicareli 26 February 2016 (has links)
As a contemporary society product, volunteering is now immersed in a complex institutionalization process. It has been redefined and gathered new values, related to social change and political participation while gets increasingly distant from charity speech and assistentialism. In this study, we seek to understand how taking part in this new formal volunteering, as a colective action, can contribute to a more participative political culture, from volunteers\' political awareness. NGO Teto is our case study. It is based in Latin America and the Caribbean and best represents the new volunteering as a social phenomenon. Aiming at habitation issues and at overcoming poverty, the NGO has attracted millions of university students. We take as reference the theoretical thoughts of political psychology authors, especially Salvador A. M. Sandoval\'s Analytical Model of Political Consciousness. This way, we have tried to comprehend the social and psycological dimensions that form the volunteers\' political consciousness, their willingness to act in accordance to it and its bonds to the social activities they develop at the NGO. In the analysis, we have found a model of volunteering that is still very close to charity, but with great potential of critical formation, especially as a result of volunteers\' experiences in poor communities. On the other hand, we have found out issues that are obstacles to a more critical political sonsciousness, which consequently turns this potential inexplored efficiently. The obstacles are mostly related to the NGO\'s lack of guidance and political positioning, the absence of deeper questioning about the problems the NGO and volunteers work to solve, as well as the clash between the discourse of poverty eradication and the proposed actions

Theological medical ethics: A virtue based approach

Dinh, Hoa Trung January 2013 (has links)
Thesis advisor: LISA S. CAHILL / The Nuremberg trials ushered in a new era in which the four principles approach has become progressively the norm in Euro-American biomedical ethics, while the concepts of virtue and character become marginalized. In recent decades, the AIDS pandemic has highlighted the social aspects of health and illness, and the individualistic nature of the four principles approach proves inadequate in addressing the social causes of illness and poor health. At the global level, the promotion of the four principles approach as the universal norm can lead to the displacement of local values and customs, and the alienation of people from their cultural heritage. In this dissertation, I argue that although principles are indispensable, the virtue-based approach is more adequate in addressing these needs. The dissertation demonstrates that a virtue-based medical ethics informed by the gospel vision of healing would support models of health care that take seriously the social determinants of illness, and advocate action on behalf of the poor and the marginalized. At the global level, virtue-based medical ethics also allows the coexistence of the universal values and the local norms, and encourages cross-cultural dialogue. This dissertation develops a virtue-based medical ethics grounded in the Aristotelian teleological structure, and integrating insights obtained from the historical critical study of the healing narratives in Luke-Acts. It also provides a correlative study of the love command in Luke and the virtue of humaneness in the medical ethics of eighteenth century Vietnamese physician Hai Thuong Lan Ong. The concluding chapter brings these elements together in a discussion of the work of the Vietnamese Catholic AIDS care network. / Thesis (PhD) — Boston College, 2013. / Submitted to: Boston College.

Stefani, Maria Teresa 08 May 2013 (has links)
Made available in DSpace on 2016-04-25T16:44:32Z (GMT). No. of bitstreams: 1 Maria Teresa Stefani.pdf: 2382425 bytes, checksum: e5b2e8a1daf2694a80b3b5031c8c67c9 (MD5) Previous issue date: 2013-05-08 / Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior / Partnerships are instruments used by government entities and non-governmental organizations to expand the supply of services of public interest in the areas of health, education and social work, among others. In addition to those agreements, nonprofit-organizations develop other partnerships with different sectors of society, individuals and institutions that support improving the social reality of poor communities. Thus, this paper aims to discuss the partnerships that a nongovernmental organization establishes with governmental entities, where financial transfers are involved, with other governmental and private entities, where exchange of services or financial transfers is sporadic and limited to specific projects. The set of partnerships ultimately generates a network of relationships that changes with time. Therefore, the author developed a quantitative and qualitative case study of ARCO Associação Beneficente, a nongovernmental organization, whose service is intended for children and adolescents in the areas of education and social assistance. Three major perspectives of ARCO are evaluated: (i) its financial strength over the past 10 years, the partnership with the city government through agreements and projects sponsored by the Municipal Fund for Children and Adolescents, (ii) its relationship with the surrounding community where it is based, one of the poorest areas of the city of São Paulo, and (iii) the network of partnerships formed by ARCO along its 22 years of activity in the neighborhood. It was identified a jump in quality and quantity in services offered to the public attended, which has been held without interruption, although it generated to the entity a high level of financial dependence on resources provided by the City of São Paulo. Regarding the community, there is a high degree of social exclusion and most of the residents live in squalid conditions, with little prospects of a promising change in their current situation. There also is a great interaction with ARCO, who became a channel to their claims for seeking human rights and improve their conditions. It was also found that the established network is flexible and dynamic. Although not yet fully consolidated, it yet brings positive results in the supply of services for the community, which ultimately go beyond partnerships with governments. Finally, it was also found that the relationship with government officials is not as mutual as it could be, and that communication s noise hinders trust creation / Parcerias são instrumentos utilizados por entidades governamentais e não governamentais para ampliar a oferta de serviços de interesse público, nas áreas de saúde, educação e assistência social, dentre outras.

Sodré, Marina de Lima 31 March 2017 (has links)
The lack of studies on NGOs, sport and Organizational Culture in the country aroused the interest of this work, whose objective was to identify and describe the Organizational Culture (OC) of an NGO that carries out a socio-educational and sports program. The adoption of a pedagogical line based on Olympic Education manifests itself in aspects of the organization\'s OC. The research is characterized as exploratory and case study, with qualitative approach. The data were collected from documentary sources and through semi-structured interviews with the leadership of the entity and applied content analysis. The results pointed out that it is possible that the Organizational Culture of a sports entity is influenced by the cultural values and pedagogical aspects of the sport. The work has been limited to researching only one NGO and leaves as a suggestion for future studies and comparative studies

Les partenariats entre organisations économiques et associatives : des espaces communicationnels hybrides entre divergences et convergences / Partnerships between economic and associative organizations : hybrid communication spaces between divergences and convergences

Errecart, Amaia 04 December 2009 (has links)
Focused on partnerships between economic and associative organizations, our research aims to qualify the communicational nature of these interaction spaces according to Habermas theory of discussion ethics. This thesis examines partnerships from three different points of view, corresponding to three different definitions of the notion : partnerships as hybrid forms of “together doing”, as language interaction spaces, and as singular forms of social mediation. The discourse analysis of the three partnerships corpus – the international partnership between Lafarge and WWF International, the national partnership between Monoprix and Max Havelaar and the local partnership between Aéroports de Paris and local resident associations – enables to lay stress on the articulation of ethos and praxis, dialogue forms between actors, and the presence of a third party inside each partnership relation.
