Les derniers jours de l'enseignement ? / The last days of teaching ?

Meskel-Cresta, Martine 24 November 2015 (has links)
Summary. The last days of Teaching?Analysis of the role of Teaching, this philosophy thesis asks the question on the necessary conditions in order, for education, to keep a meaning and a future. It describes the evolution, the mutation of methods, as well as the deconstruction and disintegration of an « academic form », threatened because too burdensome, and therefore the necessary transformation of education.Basing itself on the example of the philosophy workshop, on the movements of the teacher from the transmission to the animation and the support, and on the theory that our time has not (yet) taken into account what modernity has brought to the world, overshadowed by the prior representations or past interpretations, it examines what haunts the conceptions of education or pedagogic thought in order to draw consequences as to the future of this function in its new conditions. To this end, this work questions Teaching in its definitions as well as in its recent transformations, with regard to childhood or adolescence new status and the unease of transmission until the representation crisis, to put it in perspective with worldwide conflicts and to what they « say » of the evolution of the occidental way of thinking, which seems necessary to integrate to the critical perception of school. Thus it replaces teaching in its relation to the end of metaphysics: what are the effects of this change of era on the teaching condition ? And it relates the disorders in the scholar and university institution to its origin and history : under what conditions can the teachers functions persist in the world after nazism and world conflicts, after the foundation crisis ?By recognizing the interruption between the continuum of tradition and the evergoing progress, thus the gap, the cracks, marks always already left which cause the desorientation, can we and by what means, reinvent the « teaching »/the profiteor, and its institutionalizing capacity, at least detect the « signs » of a renewal with, in prospect, the deconstruction of the outdated, second-rated, structure of teaching? The evolution and teaching crisis are symptoms of a deeper change that we must face, with a vision which includes philosophy but also its thought beyond, act for the ongoing mutation will require another writing of the teaching gesture.Maybe the teacher isn't teaching yet…

Recherches sur le vocabulaire de la droiture et de l'innocence dans la Septante des Psaumes, Proverbes et Job / Research on the vocabulary of uprighteousness and innocence in the Septuagint of the Psalms, Proverbs and Job

Longonga Ngumbu, Stanislas 12 July 2019 (has links)
This thesis is dedicated to the Septuagint and is part of the current of research that studies its vocabulary and style. While studies have been conducted on different themes, there is no systematic study of the vocabulary of uprighteousness and innocence, which has had however an impact on later Christian religious language. This thesis which is intended as a contribution to this current of research by addressing a lexical field neglected by previous research limits the investigation to three sapiential books, namely, the books of Psalms, Proverbs and Job. The approach consists in establishing the equivalence between the LXX and the Masoretic Text, the LXX and the Greek literature, the LXX and the Hellenistic Jewish literature by examining the background of the terms, the similarities and the differences due to the cultural environment, in order to understand the meaning and the choice of the Greek terms mobilized.

Van Schalkwyk, C. H. J., 1971- 12 1900 (has links)
Thesis (DPhil)--University of Stellenbosch, 2004. / ENGLISH ABSTRACT: Philo is a writer who lived in Alexandria in 30 BC – 50 AD. Traditionally scholars classified Philo as philosopher, exegete and apologist. With these classifications in mind, Philo’s works is read and interpreted. In this study a methodology of postmodernism (which is inherently a cultural historical understanding of reality) will be used, and it will become clear that this classification of the scholars is not satisfactory. The question that arises, is: How must Philo be read and understood in the context of a postmodern methodology? By means of a study of the logos-concept it is suggested that Philo must be understood as a threshold person, who stands on the cutting edges of the cultures in Alexandria; he therefore creates a new universe of symbols. In this new universe of symbols it is possible for the different cultures to communicate effectively, because they now have a joint vocabulary. Philo is not a postmodernist, but he makes use of techniques which occurs in post modern philosophy to create this new universe of symbols. Through the use of these techniques it becomes possible for the reader to take into account the different philosophical dimensions that are part of Philo’s thoughts. This helps the reader to understand the contradiction in Philo’s thought in connection with the logos-concept. It also helps the reader to place the logos-concept of Philo in its proper cultural historical background.

Fé, razão e o discurso comunicativo: é possível a filosofia auxiliar o agir religioso?

The first matter of analysis is the relation between reason and faith, and how can philosophy serve to some religious dispositions. The limits of the religious person?s doings and the minimal conditions for his/her civil role are outlined, that is, the defense of faith as an element of reasonability within ethical relations. First, an investigation is made regarding the openness of philosophy to a common knowledge which reaches an elevated systematization in Aristotle, which allows a dialogue as a communicative discourse under strictly human aspects, considering possible worlds. In this part, the maximum potence of the intellect is established, enabling the interpretation of myth and religion as objects. Next, a study is developed on the matter of the first thinker to establish the link between the Greek and the religious lines of thought: Philo of Alexandria; and the cultural experience of such view: Christian helenism. But for Philo, it would not be possible to theoretically conceive the union between the views of reason and faith; and, within Christian helenism, the experience of the Philonian conception applied at the start of Christianism can be found. Then, an attempt is made to highlight the element of faith under a rational point of view, considering non-contradictory propositions, stressing a particular aspect of Thomas Aquinas view. Here, Thomas is taken up as a thinker of synthesis between reason and faith, which sets up the rational basis for a reasonable adhesion to religion. Lastly, two case studies are presented: the rational appeal of Justin to Emperor Titus; and a comparison between Abraham and Ajax, from Sophocles play. Both are examples of cases in which philosophy can be of help to the relation of the religious person to politics. In the first one, due to Justins platonic discourse, in defense of the Christians. And in the second, in order to a certain skepticism in some religious dispositions to exist. The conclusion is reached by infering that the actions of the religions individual must be justified in the logic of discourse, so that the matter does not extends itself to stances beyond good and evil. Instead, it must take into account the ethical principles without denying its religion; as a complement of assistance and reciprocity.

Boiché, Anne 10 November 2018 (has links)
The present work does not only focus on the question of dreams, but analyses the treatise as a whole and investigates the way Philo writes his commentary and builds up his exegesis. Philo indeed transposes the vocabulary of philosophy and renews it in order to produce an appropriate discourse on monotheism; on the other hand, he rewrites the Bible to make it fit his argumentation. To better understand how Philo composes his commentary, I study first the structure of the treatise: I ask myself how Philo manages to bind together his interpretations into a literary whole. Then, the study of biblical quotations reveals that, although Philo explains carefully every biblical word, he often rewrites and rephrases the Bible. Finally, I investigate the way Philo uses the Greek language: puns and verbal creations reveal that the Greek language supports his thought. For Philo, the words of the Bible are reminiscent of Greek literature and philosophy.

Roger Braun s.j. (1910-1981) : philo-semitism and relief to foreigners

Lunel, Frédéric 13 December 2013 (has links)
Roger Braun (1910-1981) was a French Jesuit priest who early took an interest in the Jews, coming from France or Palestine, Judaism and Jewish culture. In 1942, he was appointed chaplain assistant to the camps and groups of foreign workers in the “Free France” area (in the south of the country). Responding to persecutions, he tried to save the lives of interned Jews from the Nazi occupiers by releasing them or organizing escapes and hiding children. He did his utmost to bring together members of families dispersed owing to the war and he placed the elderly in the care of hospices. He was involved in the policy change of the Chaplaincy allowing it to provide, in addition to a spiritual help, a material help without any distinction of “race”, religion or nationality. In so doing, he established the basis of an international Catholic Relief Service (Secours Catholique International – SCI). In 1946, the SCI merged with Catholic Relief Committee (Comité Catholique de Secours) belonging to the Canon Rodhain’s Chaplaincy of prisoners of war. The new confessional charity thus created adopted the name of Secours Catholique. In 1957, after leaving this institution, he returned to his apostolate in the form of a dialogue to the Jews and Israel, being involved in the editorial team of the Cahiers Sioniens, and then, creating his own periodical: Rencontre chrétiens et juifs (Meeting/Encounter Christians and Jews). As a parallel creation to the Amitié judéo-chrétienne de France (Judeo-Christian Friendship of France), this periodical aims at improving a mutual understanding between the faithful of both religions and bringing them together. As a fervent opponent to anti-semitism of any kind, he joined the International League Against Anti-semitism (LICA: Ligue Internationale Contre l’Antisémitisme). He became president of its federation in Paris and member of the steering committee.Roger Braun was made a Knight (Chevalier) of the Order of Public Health, the first French to be honored by the State of Israel as “Righteous Among the Nations” for his involvement in favor of the Jews during World War II, Officer of the Order of the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States, Chevalier of the Legion of Honor, recipient of the Narcisse Leven Award against anti-semitism and of the Médaille Vermeil of the City of Paris. And yet, the work of this religious had never been studied from an historical point of view. This thesis aims at making the most detailed possible biography of Father Roger Braun, to establish his work as a significant part of the philo-semitism trend and the rediscovery of the Jewish roots of Christianity. It also seeks to analyze and understand the birth of this catholic charity and to clarify his action and involvement in favor of the foreigners and the refugees of post-war Europe.
