Maheu, Josiane 06 1900 (has links)

From a perspective of gender, patriarchal relationships often shape development by
influencing differential access to resources, including space and mobility. Mexico, historically
characterized by both patriarchy and endemic poverty, has been home to a wide range of
development strategies addressing gendered inequality. Most recently, microfinance
programs have become an instrument of choice for confronting female marginalization and
gender inequality.
The scientific literature reveals important gaps in the study of gendered relationships in
households which benefit from microfinance. Several studies address the impact of
microfinance on the lives of women, but few offer a holistic vision that views microfinance as
a tool of development promising to shift the spatial nature of gendered inequality. This
research is based on qualitative comparative case studies of microfinance groups in San
Miguel Tenextatiloyan and Émilio Carranza, two communities of the Sierra Norte de Puebla
(Mexico). Its primary objective is to evaluate the degree to which microfinance programs
have changed the place of the women in society. To answer this issue, a portrait of the spatial
organization of gender is presented, and then the impacts of microfinance programs on the
place of women in domestic, work and community spaces is assessed.
The results of the study indicate that microfinance programs have not changed substantially
the place of women in society. Rather the research finds that, in a context of poverty,
microfinance stabilizes households, but does not lead to a clear amelioration of the material
circumstances of women’s lives. Secondly, the findings demonstrate that the tasks associated
with social reproduction – largely assumed by women – provide a structural barrier to female
empowerment that microfinance alone cannot fully confront.

llegan totalmente a eliminar.

Fan Participation in the Age of Social Media – the Case of Kris Wu’s Fan GroupWang, Tianyi January 2019 (has links)
This thesis aims to explore how fans use social media to participate in activities relatedto the idol, and what is the level of participation of different fans in the fan group. Thisthesis used qualitative research methods – online observations and semi-structured indepth interviews to collect the empirical data, through focusing on the fan group of KrisWu. The theories of Jenkins and Carpentier are also applied to explore and describe theparticipatory practices of fans. By employing the theory of Jenkin’s participatoryculture to the first part of the analysis, the research results show that for the fans, socialmedia plays an important role in their participation, providing fans with a newenvironment to communicate and organize activities. Fan activities can be categorizedinto three major types: online consumption behaviors, fan text productions, and onlinesupporting activities. By applying the political and critical approach of participation, aswell as Carpentier’s four-level analytical model to the second part of the analysis, thisstudy finds that there are three sub-processes related to online fan communities – themanagement subprocess, the activity organization subprocess, and the subprocess oftext production and distribution. In each fan group, there are four different roles of fans– leaders, creators, supporters, and less active fans. Besides, through analyzing theidentities and decision-making moments, it can be said that although each fan isrelatively equal in the whole participatory process, there are still certain power relationsbetween each role of fans, especially in the process of fan group management.

Previous issue date: 2016-03-11 / Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior / This thesis is based on the Critical Discourse Analysis - CDA, in Textual Linguistics and Theory of Social Action, of Weber, on the theme 'the construction of the Religious Discourse of the Igreja Universal do Reino de Deus - IURD'. Justifies the survey because, although many studies have been published about the Religious Discourse, did not find any that has the theme of this research. The main hypothesis is that the Religious Discourse of the Igreja Universal is permeated with a converged messianic appeal to the person of Edir Macedo. The aim of this study is to contribute to the studies of Religious Discourse and its interdiscursivity. Specifically, the objective is to: explain the ideology contained in the Discourse of the IURD to promote the conversion of the population by manipulating the power, control and access to the public; check the discursive production of Bishop Macedo, in their interaction with the faithful; examine how the news of the Journalistic Discourse are modified in the Folha Universal and; situate, in Macedo s Religious Discourse, his messianic proposal. The research is qualitative, with a theoretical and analytical procedure, whose analysis material was collected from the journal of the Igreja Universal do Reino de Deus and from oral speech of Bishop Macedo, collected from the internet. The results highlight how the Igreja Universal do Reino de Deus is able to forge a Journalistic Discourse of Institutional Advertising, involved by a Religious Discourse, using the mass media to manipulate the use of language in building socio-cognitive, in order to provide the path <<to make-believe>> to <<to make-power>> to his faithful and build a messianic character / Esta tese está fundamentada na Análise Crítica do Discurso - ACD, na Linguística Textual e na Teoria de Ação Social, de Weber, tendo por tema a construção do Discurso Religioso da Igreja Universal do Reino de Deus - IURD .

Previous issue date: 2016-08-31 / This dissertation’s research object is the militarization of the public school in Goiás.
We made an investigation of the implantation of the Goiás’ Military Police schools in
the public teaching system. The creation process of this kind of school is the result of
the transference of the administration of basic school institutions to Goiás’ Military
Police through the Public Security Department. We intended to show how such
movement is modifying the transferred schools’ structure. They used to be
democratic spaces open for all, but became militarized and selective structures. A
historical analysis was made in order to show that the whirling rhythm of installation
of the CPMGs has as background a political project promoted by the government of
Goiás and that is resulting in social impact. Interest relations and conflictions are
involved in such a context. The government of Goiás, which dominates the political
space, imposes the military schools, and social groups that benefit from the
militarization defend such a teaching mode. On the other hand, a part of the impaired
civil society and community mobilizes itself and offers resistance. Besides that
matter, this work reflects on subjects concealed from the discussions, such as the
admission priority given to certain candidates, the choice of schools to become
administrated by the police and the monthly fee. These factors select and exclude
the students out of the school unities. The analysis made of the military teaching in
the CPMGs allows us to approximate them to the Military School of the Brazilian
Army, because they follow a common education guideline directed by the doctrine of
the Military Forces, where the hierarchy and the discipline prevail, being also
important the servile obedience to the military professionals. Despite that similarity,
the research shows there are also differences between them. Different from the
Military Schools, which prepare the young people to the military career, the CPMGs
do not form students to the Military Forces, neither to the PM career, but they insert
military values and practices into the civilians’ everyday life and formation. The
research is widened as the historical analysis deepens and reveals the complexity of
the military matter in the Brazilian society. Through the pondering about the formation
of the State of Goiás, of the Military Police and of the public school, it is possible to
clarify the deepening of a military idea of society which got into the institutions and
into our society. Hence, in the territory of the public school of Goiás there is fertile
ground for a military educational system. At the end of this study, an excursus was
inserted with the aim of showing how previous researches regarding the theories of
Michel Foucault were fundamental to inspire and guide this research. Such excursus
works as an epistemology of the research and aims to show the ways that made it
possible to build the object of study.
A pesquisa é

Previous issue date: 2015-02-04 / This research aims to investigate the Kingdom of God and the world under the bias
of the Johannine community from Jo 18:36 exegesis. The objective is to demonstrate
that, from the discourse of Jesus on his kingdom, recorded in John 18:36, the
Johannine community is a heterotopic construction both in relation to incipient
rabbinic Judaism as to the Roman Empire in first century. For thus, the study was
divided into three chapters. The first chapter is an introduction to the Fourth Gospel,
with emphasis on the Johannine community history and its Christology. The second
chapter is an exploratory journey to the cosmos and the basileia from John 18:36. In
the third chapter, the heterotopic aspects of the Johannine community are analyzed
in relation to the world, based on the theoretical framework of Foucault. In this way, it
can be shown that the Kingdom of God promotes heterotopias over time and
societies, making it clear, the achievement of a critical space in relation to its world in
the Johannine community, that is, a space of decisions and resignifications, capable
of breaking socio-religious paradigms and change existing power relations.

Tetos de vitrais: gênero e raça na contabilidade no Brasil / Stained glass ceiling: gender and race in the accounting field in Brazil.Silva, Sandra Maria Cerqueira da 20 May 2016 (has links)
Through the last two decades, our society has experienced profound social changes. According to data from the Brazilian Statistics Bureau (IBGE)\'s Pesquisa Nacional por Amostra de Domicílios (PNAD, the National Household Sampling Survey), women had an average 5,2 years of study in 1992 which grew to 7,7 years in 2009, rising 47% (IBGE apud Ipea, 2010). Data from the Ministry of Labor (MTE, 2013) shows that female participation in the formal job market rose, yet women with higher education degrees still receive only 60% of men\'s salaries as remuneration. Ipea (2011) data on income show that the per capita family income of a family headed by a white man is 997 Brazilian Reais (R$), while for a family headed by an black women is only R$ 491 - that is, less than half that of a white man\'s family, running counter to the oft-heralded Brazilian \'racial democracy\'. In spite of the increase in the number of women in the job market, according to Peggy, Dwyer and Roberts (2004) the gender agenda of the accounting profession facilitates the north-american imperialist project by enabling firms to employ competent female workers at minimal cost; this would be related to the domesticity ideology, that is, the idea that domestic life is the ideal life for women. Further studies such as that of Bebbington, Thomson and Wall (1997) conclude that accounting students tend to express their gender through masculine or androgynous identities rather than feminine, in accordance to Butler\'s (2012) theory of performativity which states that gender roles are performed as a result of social influences. This \'masculinization\' of accounting students results from the upkeep of stereotypes, such as the idea that accounting is eminently male. Based on this, Bebbington et al (1997) conclude that \"women may be winning the \'numbers game\' but at a cost--that cost being the elimination of feminine gender characteristics\". In other words, female participation in the job market has risen, but there are still many barriers - a significant part of which are subjective - established through closure processesand these barriers impose themselves on the path of women who desire to succeed in positions of prestige, regardless of those women\'s qualification level. The phenomenon known as \'glass ceiling\' represents the various symbolic barriers, imposed subtly - thus transparent, like glass - but strongly enough that they prevent women from rising to the higher positions of the organization hierarchy. Observed in market terms, the phenomenon can be found to happen in many different countries around the world. This scenario has led us to believe that in this process of social transformation, in which new roles are required, revising perspectives on gender identity is necessary, as well as reviewing the production and maintenance of the gender discourses that support these new identities. In Brazil, as per previously related data, in spite of the advances in terms of qualification, women still suffer with unequal work conditions and restrictions to professional access. There seems to exist a group of real and symbolic barriers that keep women from climbing the career ladder. In accounting, women are exposed to eminently machist discourses and practices; the former structure the latter and reify the image of women as being unable to assume positions of higher responsibility. In the face of this and of a scenario in which women are denied access to leadership positions, it is believed that black women are particularly denied by the \'accounting discourse\'; discriminated throughout their lives not only for being women, but also for being black and often poor, they are, through a process of psychological violence, denied their identity as professionals enabled to exercise their functions, especially in positions of power and prestige. Thus, the goal of this study is to investigate whether the phenomenon known as glass ceiling is present in day-to-day interactions, in the form of sexualization and racialization processes faced by black women along their academic trajectories in Brazilian accounting. The research follows a qualitative approach from a poststructuralist stance, using autoethnographic and oral history techniques; data was collected through semistructured interviews, realized in depth with PhD/Master professors and analyzed from the interpretivist perspective. The results found show that the glass ceiling phenomenon is also present in accounting, resulting in barriers specific to the field. To reach this result some limitations needed to be overcome, the main one being the lack of incentive to the development of the study given the innovative character of the proposal - especially in a field and in a locus in which interdisciplinary studies are still the exception. Studies on both gender and race have not, until now, been objects of study in Brazilian accounting. However, I hope this research may pave a way for future works in this theme. With this, accounting will be acting directly towards the promotion of equality, breaking through established closures and enabling social change.

A poética de Domingos Pellegrini: leitura de As sete pragas / The poetics of Domingos Pellegrini: reading of As sete pragasSilva, Alessandra Lacerda da 07 October 2016 (has links)
The following essay aims to present a study about the author Domingos Pellegrini and his poetics in the context of the 1970s literature in Brazil. Part of the research purpose is to raise and analyze the language construction of his work, the literary devices used and themes chosen by the author. For this, the focus is on the book As sete pragas (1979) and, through the use of literary theory based on concepts elaborated mainly by Antonio Candido to help analyze the short stories and nouvelles in the book. It thereby seeks to systematize the poetics of the author and, at the same time, present him as a literary writer of the 1970s. Besides the introduction, the research is organized into three chapters corresponding to the main themes. The book is organized by a division of genres, three short stories and three nouvelles, and this work reorganizes these narratives into two groups based on these themes: the first is about the power configuration of the female character in As sete pragas; the second, on other power relations, configured through the space occupied by men in the course of the narratives as a symbolic representation of the late capitalist system in Brazil; and finally, the third presents a comment about two moments of the author\'s work (1979 and 2007), by making reference to the interview for this thesis, which is reproduced in the Annex. The following essay aims to present a study about the author Domingos Pellegrini and his poetics in the context of the 1970s literature in Brazil. Crítica e poder? crítica social e diagnóstico de patologias em Axel Honneth / Critique and power? social critique and pathologies diagnosis in Axel HonnethBressiani, Nathalie de Almeida 11 August 2015 (has links)
In Critique of Power, Axel Honneth argues that those who seek to realize the project of critical theory today must develop a conceptual framework able to comprehend both the structures of social domination and the social resources for its practical overcoming. Starting with a reconstruction of Honneths theoretical development until Struggle for Recognition, our first aim is to show that the theory of recognition corresponds to the author\'s attempt to fulfill these tasks. Pointing out, however, that his efforts at this time are concentrated on the tasks of reconstructing the normative dynamics of intersubjective relations and the structural human interest for recognition, we argue that Honneth ends up losing sight of the fact that power permeate social relations. Resuming, at this point, the criticisms directed at Honneth by various authors, we aim to show that his recognition theory, as presented in Struggle for Recognition, depends on a reductive understanding of power. Considering that, after his debate with Nancy Fraser, Honneth acknowledges this problem and reformulates important elements of his theory, we devote part of this thesis to an analysis of the different strategies deployed by Honneth with this purpose. By doing this, our goal is to show that even thou Honneth tries to account for the relationship between recognition and power, in his most recent texts, he seems to abandon the concept of social domination. Advocating, finally, for the critical project presented by Honneth in Critique of Power, will devote the last section of the thesis to discuss the work of three different representatives of a new generation of critical theorists, whose purpose seems to be exactly to realize it.

The study presented in this thesis aimed to understand , through the speeches of the students, the processes of subjectification of students , said on condition of social vulnerability in a context of production of meanings and meanings related to student assistance policies between 2009 and 2013 ; examine whether there is a relationship between the benefits of policies to support and retain its fellows Work Initiation in schooling ; understand how these subjects are constituted through power relations that traverse ; and analyze how students experience the school environment from its place on the market condition . As a backdrop to this analysis, we chose the policy of student assistance from the Federal Institute of Piauí - Teresina Central Campus, understood based on the National Student Assistance Plan (PNAES). The empirical material was collected through questionnaires and subsequently recorded and transcribed interviews with students entered into the Scholarship Program Work Initiation, as well as the Federal Institute of servers Piauí - Teresina Central Campus, the time frame 2009/2013. Research shows approaches to the field of Cultural History, by theorists such as Jacques Le Goff and Peter Burke, and also draws on Michel Foucault. The analysis of the research material obtained showed that: a) The assistance policies relate directly to students staying in school, but are not the dominant factor; b) Fellows students experience the school environment as an extension of their homes as a place of work, study, and spend some more time in school than with their families; c) Power relations are asymmetric and based on discipline, hierarchy and separation; d) During the analysis of the narratives of the stock process , you realize that there is a tension between the official discourse and the discourse of students.
