Title: Inclusion of pupils with physical disabilities into physical education in schools in Prague and Central Bohemian region. Objectives: The Thesis analyses the current state of inclusion of pupils with physical disabilities into physical education classes and the experience with this process in schools in Prague and the Central Bohemian region. Methods: The procedure of public inquiry, created by adapted physical activity experts from UP in Olomouc, was applied to fullfill the objectives of the Thesis. The structured as well as unstructured questions made it possible to describe the structure of the group of physically handicapped pupils and found out especially the reasons for releasing these pupils from physical education classes, preparedness of schools for including pupils with physical disabilities into these classes and the forms of support, which are from the perspective of schools indispensable for the inclusion into physical education. Results: Inclusion of the pupils with physical disabilities into the physical education classes in schools in Prague and the Central Bohemian region does take place. However, the conditions are not entirely satisfactory and it is applied in particular to pupils with a lighter type of physical disability. The results of the Thesis indicate a shortage of...

The purpose of this study has been to explore and problematize how rules affect the superiority educators have in relation to pupils, based on the generation power structure. As a basis for the result are qualitative observations from three recreation centers and qualitative interviews with four educators from these. The empirical material is analyzed with the help of social constructivism and a childish perspective. These theories are based on the assumption that we socially construct our reality as well as to see injustices and subordination based on an age and power perspective. The results show that the recreation centre is a complex arena where pupils are expected to navigate between rules that are visible, invisible, changeable and difficult to interpret. It also shows that rules are made visible through reprimands that take place in different situations and in different ways. During the interviews, pupils resistance to rules is described, but is not entirely unproblematic because of the way educators interpret the resistance and value it. One conclusion is that rules, how they are created and how they are maintained reinforce the superiority educators have in a partially unjustified manner. But that this is something that can be challenged and renegotiated.

The research problem in this thesis concerns mathematical difficulties in pupils with specific language impairment (SLI) in upper secondary school. A large amount of research shows that there is a connection between specific language impairment and mathematical difficulties and a report from SPSM (2018) states that routines concerning pupils with SLI in upper secondary school are deficient. The purpose of the thesis is to make this group more visible by examining how some pupils with SLI in upper secondary school experience, and have experienced, their mathematical difficulties. Since the study is based on the student perspective, semi-structured interviews were chosen as a method. The five participants have all been diagnosed with SLI and attend upper secondary school. The students' stories and experiences are discussed based on the model of attribution theory, which describe how we attribute our adversities and successes. It appears that all the students have been struggling with mathematics throughout their schooling. Students explain their difficulties predominantly with stable, i.e. unchanging, factors, external as well as internal. Neither the students themselves nor the teachers they encountered have linked the mathematical difficulties with the diagnosis SLI. Based on the results, the importance of more knowledge among mathematics teachers about the relationship between SLI and mathematical difficulties is discussed, as well as the importance of collaboration between mathematics teachers and special education teachers. Furthermore, organizational changes that could facilitate this student group are discussed and moreover that one should consider how repeated failures result in reduced motivation. This is particularly relevant for students, who explain their setbacks with stable, unchanging factors, as it reduces the ability to take advantage of their capacity.

Vzájemná spolupráce učitele 1. ročníku ZŠ a asistenta pedagoga / Teacher and the teacher's assistant's mutual cooperation in the first year of studies at primary schoolJinochová, Iva January 2018 (has links)
The topic of this dissertation is the case study which is concerned with the cooperation of the teacher and the teacher's assistant in the process of education of the first class' pupils at primary school. Theoretic part is collected knowledge from the professional literature. There are described possibilities of pupils' support at the beginning of the compulsory education and the role of the teacher's assistant under the terms of this support. The text also includes the position of the teacher's assistant in legislation and the work of personal assistant. I paid attention to ethical and other problems which are connected with the work of teacher's assistant. In empirical part is processed the case study of the first class at quite common elementary school. It was caught the progress and the changes of teacher and teacher's assistant's cooperation in the term of one year. Collecting of the information was made by the form of observation, field research, dialogues and questionnaires. The cooperation between teacher and the teacher's assistant was not under way I expected. I think that on the basis of acquired experience the teacher's assistant did not pay attention to pupils enough time. It probably contributed to the fact that the work with children was not always in harmony. At the end of the...

Nadaný žák na základní škole - možnosti rozvíjení v předmětu český jazyk / Intelectually gifted pupil in the basic school - development in Czech language classesChejnovská, Lenka January 2018 (has links)
This diploma thesis deals with intellectually talented individuals and from the narrower point of view, gifted pupils in the subject of Czech language at the second level of elementary school. In the theoretical part, the author deals with the talents, definitions and concepts of this issue, existing models from various authors, characteristics of gifted children, approaches of Czech schools to the education of these children and extra-curricular possibilities for the development of their talent. This thesis also deals with linguistic intelligence and personality of the teacher. The main objective is to give a realistic picture of how teachers of the Czech language view gifted pupils and what differences they find between gifted individuals and ordinary students. Furthermore, the author of the thesis searches for the differences between the capabilities of pupils gifted at the Czech language and other pupils in fulfilling the assigned tasks. Last but not least, what is the point of view on education of the pupils themselves. In the practical part, using the structured interview method, information and opinions from teachers of talented pupils and pupils themselves to the teaching of the Czech language are collected. In addition to that, on the basis of the theoretical data gathered, practical tasks...

Can PRUs work? : a search for an answer from within a lived experienceDodman, Hilary Frances January 2016 (has links)
This study draws on theories of punishment (Cavadino and Dignan 2007), leadership (West-Burnham 2013), social rules, (Burns and Machado 2014) and resilience (Fredrikson and Branigan 2005) to develop an understanding of Pupil Referral Units (PRUs). PRUs came into being through statute in 1993. They were set up to provide formal educational settings for young people who had been excluded from school. LEAs have responsibility for the education and welfare of all children in their catchment areas, irrespective of which school they attend. If an exclusion occurs, the LEA is obliged to assume responsibility, under section 19(1) of the 1996 Education Act, for the child's education by whatever means seems appropriate to its designated officers. Placement in a Pupil Referral Unit is a course of action they may pursue. This study sets out to discover through a series of narrative interviews conducted within a Key Stage 4 PRU, whether the multiple purposes of the PRU can be achieved, given the issues that present themselves in the isolated setting of the Unit, the resources available and the complex needs of the young people concerned. Fifteen interviews were conducted within a PRU in the academic year 2011-2012. Four were held with the Head; 11 further interviews involved 12 people; 8 members of staff and 4 pupils. A study of the evidence they provided led to a qualified positive response to the research question; i.e. that PRUs can' work' given a number of factors that are listed in the conclusion.
