Service Quality in the Eyes of Sporadic Spectators : A Quantitative Study for HV71 with a Modified Sportscape Framework

Karlsson, Zimon, Carlsson, Gustav January 2020 (has links)
Introduction: Sports consumption is a unique human experience in which consumers invest both money and emotions where the game becomes the main focus of the event and constitutes what is known to be a sporting event. Sports organizations are required to track how their service quality is perceived during these events in order to understand the values of their spectators and to evaluate levels of satisfaction. As prior seasons in the SHL has shown an average decreasing number of attendances at the arenas, a possible issue may exist, suggesting that further understanding about how the service is perceived becomes useful.  Purpose: The purpose of this master thesis is to examine how sporadic spectators experience the service quality offered by HV71 at Kinnarps Arena. Moreover, five dimensions within service quality are implemented to distinguish the perceived service quality among sporadic spectators in various areas, and how it relates to the intention to attend more games. Based on that, two research questions and six hypotheses were formulated for this thesis. Method: To fulfill the purpose of the study, a quantitative method was conducted. The data was collected through a survey distributed by HV71 to spectators attending at Kinnarps Arena during the 2019/2020 SHL season. Due to the quantitative method, a deductive approach became useful as hypotheses with a modified framework were developed based on an existing theory. The theoretical anchoring includes prior research in the field of service quality and how it is associated with sporting events, which has been incorporated when analyzing the empirical findings.  Conclusion: The empirical findings in this study presents how the sporadic spectator perceives the service offered at Kinnarps Arena, whereas some differences between the dimensions exist. Moreover, the findings showed that each dimension are positively related with the perceived service quality, while identifying that there is not a strong relationship between the perceived service quality and intention to attend more games. Some findings suggested that other factors contribute to the intention to attend more, and not solely the perceived service quality.

Nouveaux défis du système de mesure de la performance : cas des tableaux de bord / New Challenges of the Performance Measurement System : A Balanced Scorecards Case

Bouamama, Mohamed 15 December 2015 (has links)
This thesis aims to determine the influence of contingency factors on the utility of balanced scorecards in the performance management of ISEs. To achieve this objective, the literature review has allowed, on the one hand, to understand the main theoretical concepts used in this work and, on the other hand, to present a research framework which is the cornerstone of our theoretical model. From a hypothetical-deductive methodology and a positivist position, an explanatory model of the utility of balanced scorecards in the performance management of ISEs is developed. The latter incorporates one dependent variable which explains the "utility of balanced scorecards in the performance management", ten explanatory variables and one mediating variable "diversity of use of BSC indicators".Then, this model is tested on 156 ISEs established in France. The data collected is examined using the principal components analysis and the multiple linear regression method. The results of this quantitative study expose contingency factors explaining the utility of BSC in the performance management. Thus, this thesis enriches the previous theoretical works on the challenges of measuring performance, and practically, provides CFOs and management controllers with an explanatory framework of the new practices of ISEs’ performance management.

Individuals’ perceptions of their cancers’ risks stemming from environmental factors : overview, relationships with adoption of health-related behaviors and determinants / Perceptions individuelles des risques de cancer liés aux facteurs environnementaux : état des lieux, liens avec l'adoption de comportements en santé et déterminants

Genton, Marine 15 September 2017 (has links)
To explore and analyze individuals’ perceptions of their own cancers’ risks in general and stemming from environmental factors. (2) To investigate their relationships with individuals’ adoption of health-related behaviors. (3) To identify and analyze the determinants of these perceptions. Methods: A theoretical and an empirical literature reviews, an exploratory qualitative study among individuals with and without personal cancer history and a confirmatory quantitative study among a representative sample of the French population have been conducted. Results: (1) Cancers’ risks stemming from environmental factors are a subject of concern among French people. In particular, more than half of our sample perceived themselves at risk to develop cancers stemming from outdoor air pollution, pesticides and stress. (2) Individuals’ adoptions of health-related behaviors can be associated with their risk perceptions, but are more associated with their endorsement of prevention-related beliefs, and their time and risk preferences. Endogeneity strongly impacts the significance of associations between perceptions and behaviors. (3) Endorsement of cancers-related beliefs and salience of cancers’ risks stemming from environmental factors determine more strongly individuals’ risk perceptions than availability and affect heuristics, knowledge, perceived control and voluntariness of risk exposures, personal health history and socio-demographic characteristics. Discussion: Our results, consistent with the literature, bring new outcomes helpful to better understand individuals’ risk perceptions and to design targeted public health policies

Perceived risk of cannabis use and cannabis use among Swedish youth : A quantitative study from a public health perspective

Ali Mohamed, Kaltum January 2021 (has links)
Background: Risk perception has been studied concerning the use of marijuana and it impacts the intention to use that specific substance. Aim: The aim was to study the association between the perceived risk of cannabis use and cannabis use among Swedish youth after controlling for gender, age, and education. The aim was also to study whether the association between the perceived risk of cannabis use and cannabis use was different according to gender. Method: The thesis project was based on data from the Flash Eurobarometer 330 - Youth Attitudes on Drugs. Results: When age and education were controlled for, both among Swedish youth and among male participants, the perceived risk had an association with cannabis use - higher risk perception entailed a lower use. Discussion: The association between the perceived risk of cannabis use and cannabis use appears to be due to the impact of risk perception on behaviour. Conclusion: By preserving the risk perception that Swedish youth have of cannabis, it may be possible to protect them from the potential harm that cannabis use cause.

Towards Understanding and Securing the OSS Supply Chain

Vu Duc, Ly 14 March 2022 (has links)
Free and Open-Source Software (FOSS) has become an integral part of the software supply chain in the past decade. Various entities (automated tools and humans) are involved at different stages of the software supply chain. Some actions that occur in the chain may result in vulnerabilities or malicious code injected in a published artifact distributed in a package repository. At the end of the software supply chain, developers or end-users may consume the resulting artifacts altered in transit, including benign and malicious injection. This dissertation starts from the first link in the software supply chain, ‘developers’. Since many developers do not update their vulnerable software libraries, thus exposing the user of their code to security risks. To understand how they choose, manage and update the libraries, packages, and other Open-Source Software (OSS) that become the building blocks of companies’ completed products consumed by end-users, twenty-five semi-structured interviews were conducted with developers of both large and small-medium enterprises in nine countries. All interviews were transcribed, coded, and analyzed according to applied thematic analysis. Although there are many observations about developers’ attitudes on selecting dependencies for their projects, additional quantitative work is needed to validate whether behavior matches or whether there is a gap. Therefore, we provide an extensive empirical analysis of twelve quality and popularity factors that should explain the corresponding popularity (adoption) of PyPI packages was conducted using our tool called py2src. At the end of the software supply chain, software libraries (or packages) are usually downloaded directly from the package registries via package dependency management systems under the comfortable assumption that no discrepancies are introduced in the last mile between the source code and their respective packages. However, such discrepancies might be introduced by manual or automated build tools (e.g., metadata, Python bytecode files) or for evil purposes (malicious code injects). To identify differences between the published Python packages in PyPI and the source code stored on Github, we developed a new approach called LastPyMile . Our approach has been shown to be promising to integrate within the current package dependency management systems or company workflow for vetting packages at a minimal cost. With the ever-increasing numbers of software bugs and security vulnerabilities, the burden of secure software supply chain management on developers and project owners increases. Although automated program repair approaches promise to reduce the burden of bug-fixing tasks by suggesting likely correct patches for software bugs, little is known about the practical aspects of using APR tools, such as how long one should wait for a tool to generate a bug fix. To provide a realistic evaluation of five state-of-the-art APR tools, 221 bugs from 44 open-source Java projects were run within a reasonable developers’ time and effort.
