Denna uppsats analyserar Selma Lagerlöfs debutroman Gösta Berlings saga utifrån teorierna zookritik och ekokritik. Analysen ämnar visa hur naturen framställs och hur den påverkar romanens karaktärer samt analysera hur det hierarkiska förhållandet mellan människa och natur artar sig i romanen. Analysen utgår även ifrån de filosofiska och teologiska tankegångar som ligger till grund för tudelningen mellan kultur och natur i det moderna samhället. Uppsatsens analys bygger på ett närläsningsstudium av tre kapitel i romanen. De kapitel som analyseras är första kapitlet ”Landskapet”, nittonde kapitlet ”Dovres häxa” och tjugotredje kapitlet ”Patron Julius”. Resultatet av studien visar på att naturbeskrivningarna i Gösta Berlings saga är mångfacetterade och att denna mångfald av naturbeskrivningar leder till att romankaraktärerna påverkas olika av naturen beroende på naturens skiftande framtoning samt att den hierarkiska ordningen mellan människa och natur ter sig mer jämbördigt i romanen än vad som åberopas i den första Moseboken och av cartesianismen. Analysen visar också på att beroendeförhållandet mellan människa och djur är mer problematiskt att fastslå i romanen eftersom tamdjur och vilddjur porträtteras olika och där de senare beskrivs som mer jämbördiga gentemot människan än vad de tidigare gör.

The purpose of this thesis is to analyse the function and the modulations of the figure of Rimbaud in the works of Rene Char, from 1927 to 1988 approximately. / This analysis, which traces the passage---from the latent to the manifest---of the figure of Rimbaud through Char's works, is situated at the junction of two series of texts, one "interior" (Char's writings on Rimbaud), the other "exterior" (twentieth-century interpretations of Rimbaud). Intertexuality, understood to mean the influence of Rimbaud on Rene Char, emerges as a reading, that is a "critique" of Rimbaud, the elaboration of a "Rimbaldian" text of which Char himself is the legatee. / What is designated in this thesis as the "metaphore Rimbaud" in the work of Rene Char refers to a process of aesthetic conceptualization rooted in the figure of Rimbaud. The "conceptual metaphor" (a notion borrowed from the works of Judith Schlanger) constructs rather than describes an interpretation. The metaphor is thus a means of intellectual invention, a heuristic act and an instrument of investigation. For Char, the metaphorical Rimbaud is the space into which he projects and imagines the work to be created. Thus, the figure of Rimbaud, through a working and reworking of discrepancies and margins, is gradually transformed by the poet and becomes, finally, a true metaphor, that is, a conceptual hypothesis which is supple and ample enough to accommodate all of Char's poetry.

The Conversation with Burman, a comprehensive and densely packed philosophical interview, is a work of extraordinary interest. In it, Descartes is closely questioned about some of the most central problems in his philosophy and expresses himself with a directness and informality which is not to be found in the published works or correspondence. Isolated references to the Conversation sprinkled through articles on Descartes, particularly in recent years, show that its importance is being increasingly recognised; but it has never been translated into English, and the work as a whole has received no systematic attention by philosophers. It is the aim of this thesis to fill both these gaps, by presenting and English version of the work and by providing a detailed philosophical commentary on the text. The main purpose of the Commentary is to show how the Conversation throws a fresh light on some of the most vexed and crucial issues in Descartes' philosophy.

¿Cómo llegar a la realidad de las cosas desde la existencia de mi yo? El paso de la subjetividad a la objetividad es acaso el mayor trabajo para modernos como Descartes, y es el paso necesario para fundamentar la estructura de las ciencias. El paso sistemático, es el único camino que considera Descartes, esta sistematicidad la llamará “método”, aquél método estará en sus obras “Reglas para la dirección del entendimiento” y “Discurso del Método”. Con tal método tratará nuestro filósofo fundamentar el paso de la necesidad para el yo a la necesidad de la realidad en las “Meditaciones Metafísicas”.

El objetivo principal de esta obra es mostrar que, en contra de lo que nos ha enseñado la tradición, no se puede cali car de dualismo a la doctrina cartesiana. Siendo esto así, se pretende formular las bases para una losofía plenamente idealista en Descartes, que tiene como modelos la indubitabilidad del cogito y las verdades matemáticas, mediante las cuales es posible explicar el mundo. Los argumentos que respaldan nuestra tesis son, en primer lugar, la imposibilidad de llevar a la duda por sobre las verdades de razón. Esto debido a que la duda se basa en la concebibilidad, la cual supone las leyes de no contradicción y de identidad. En segundo lugar, la reducción de los cuerpos a la extensión, y de ésta a ecuaciones mediante la geometría, lo que permite establecer la desaparición de la res extensa . Para el desarrollo de nuestra investigación, se han seguido los tres últimos preceptos del método empleado por Descartes, es decir, el de reducir todo a partes tan simples como sea posible para ir ascendiendo desde ellas a lo más complejo de forma ordenada. Por último, repasar constantemente lo dicho con el n de asegurar que no se ha omitido nada. Respecto del primero, es decir, no admitir como verdadero nada que no sea evidente, no me queda más que esperar el haberlo cumplido. Los resultados obtenidos mediante este método son claros: por una parte, Descartes no es un dualista, y el peso de la prueba recae sobre quien a rme lo contrario; por otra, el argumento conduce a un idealismo radical que, teniendo como base la matemática, pretende formar una concepción racional del mundo, siendo esta la única vía posible de explicación.
