Quality Requirement Abstraction Model (QRAM)Mahmood, Farrukh, Rasheed, Waqas January 2014 (has links)
Requirement engineering (RE) is an important phase in any project. Both functional and non-functional requirements are required to be elicited. Quality requirements (QRs) are usually catered at the end of software development process. Along with functional requirements, non-functional (QRs) also need to be handled and implemented through a structural way. It is observed that most organizations do not have proper management for quality requirements in their project life cycles. Especially if we consider the case of market driven requirement engineering (MDRE), it is a dire need to handle those QRs along with the functional requirement using a structural way. In this study we investigate Requirements Abstraction Model (RAM), which is basically designed for MDRE and is the case of continuous RE. The purpose was to analyze RAM specifications, which could be able to provide an effective way of manage QRs. RAM also deals with the specification of QRs, so it was required to investigate that how effective RAM can handle the creation of QRs.

Effective Requirements ManagementWanganga, George January 2004 (has links)
In many smaller companies, requirements management is a daunting challenge. Smaller groups mean fewer resources, and many organizations focus their efforts on design, development and testing not on managing requirements. Some small organizations may perceive requirements management as an activity only for large organizations that have complex products and large staffs to support the effort. Poor and uncontrolled requirement engineering processes yield low quality, highly expensive software products. Obviously, customers are highly dissatisfied with such systems. One of the most critical requirement engineering processes that grossly contribute to this misnomer is lack of “effective requirements management” Information Technology Associates (ITA) has had many challenges resulting from some poor and uncontrolled requirements engineering processes. Lack of effective requirements traceability has also had its share in plaguing ITA in software development activities. ITA started small and so it handled its requirements documentation manually as it only dealt with few customer requirements. Time has seen the company expand, and manual handling of customer requirement became difficult. This master thesis therefore aims to investigate: ♦ The state-of-practice, regarding requirements engineering and requirements management within a medium-sized software development company. ♦ How to successfully implement effective requirement management process within the ITA Company. ♦ How to successfully migrate ITA Company into this RE process while ensuring minimum hassles.

The stakeholders for requirements elicitation need to be identified at an early stage and their knowledge is the basis for what is to become a requirements specification. Just because a stakeholder holds a lot of expertise and knowledge it does not mean that the stakeholder can communicate the knowledge in a clear way. Validation of knowledge means that knowledge is valued and recognized in a structured way. People and organizations can evolve by exchanging knowledge, experience and skills. The purpose of this study is to increase the understanding of knowledge management between requirement elicitation and external stakeholders. The following report is written based on requirements elicitation and stakeholders, knowledge, and validation of knowledge. This study has been carried out at one company as a case study to examine the context of the requirement elicitation, Nonakas knowledge model and validation of knowledge. The theories that support this study are about explicit and implicit knowledge, Nonakas knowledge model and validation of knowledge. What emerged from this study is that communication and understanding are perceived to be key elements in the case study. The company that participated in this case also has a willingness to develop the internal knowledge and reduce the problems of knowledge. It has also emerged that the respondents perceive that there is a correlation between skills, qualifications and Nonaka's knowledge model.

LDA přístup k modelování operačního rizika / LDA approach to operational risk modellingKaplanová, Martina January 2016 (has links)
In this thesis we will deal with the term of operational risk, as it is presented in the directives Basel 2 that are mandatory for financial institutions in the European Union. The main problem is operational risk modeling, therefore, how to measure and manage it. In the first part we will look at the possibility of calculating the capital requirements for operational risk under Basel 2, mainly the calculation with the internal model. We will describe the specific procedures for the development of the internal model and we will focus on Loss Distribution Approach. The internal model will be based on modeling of loss in each risk cell separately. In the second part we will show, how to include modeling of dependence structure between risk cells to the internal model with using copulas. Finally, we will show the illustrative example, where we will see, whether the modeling of dependence leads to a reduction of the total capital requirement. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)

Reference modeling for high value added mobile servicesZheng, X. (Xiaosong) 04 September 2007 (has links)
Abstract
The era of mobile communications and mobile services has begun. The ongoing mobile revolution has dramatically and fundamentally changed our daily lifestyles, and it will continue to do so in a foreseeable future. For the next generation, mobile service end users have more demands for such services. This thesis examines the challenging user perspectives in designing and developing high value added mobile services. The aim of this research is to develop reference models and elicit user requirements for 3G and beyond mobile services in order to improve the quality of mobile services.
This thesis first examines the existing architectures and models for high value added mobile services, followed by the contributions of the thesis. In this thesis, a Cyberworld model, which is a contribution to the WWRF reference modeling initiative and a specification of the WSI reference model, was developed and it serves as a basis for 3G and beyond mobile services design and development. A series of definitions of the Cyberworld model and a roadmap of the enabling technologies were also built up. The emphasis of this part is on how to describe and model user participation in mobile services. For this purpose, a model of the communication element to represent the components of the wireless world was created. Both static and dynamic reference modeling steps were established to better describe and understand user participation in mobile services. The validation was achieved through the CyPhone navigation mobile service. In order to enhance mobile service mobility, personalisation, and security, an ontology based model was developed to extend the Cyberworld model functionalities. The innovative ontology based mobile system will greatly increase service mobility, personalisation and security, thus improving the quality of mobile services. The ontology based model was illustrated and validated using a healthcare mobile service.
A Quality Function Deployment (QFD) approach was adopted in this research in order to elicit, weigh and prioritise actual user requirements and link them to technical design requirements of mobile services. Traditionally QFD is employed in manufacturing industry. This approach is now extended to the mobile service industry for the first time. In this thesis, a detailed step by step QFD approach was proposed for designing high value added mobile services. As a result, the developed mobile services will better meet users' wants and needs which also means that the quality of mobile services will be significantly improved. The QFD approach was validated through a mobile e-learning service and another dedicated healthcare service for senior citizens.
Through development of reference models and examination of user requirements for 3G and beyond mobile services from user perspectives, this thesis contributes to the design and development of high value added mobile services.

[en] TRANSFORMATIONS IN THE WORLD OF WORK AND THE SOCIAL WORKER INSERTION IN THE JOB MARKET OF MANAUS / [pt] MUDANÇAS NO MUNDO DO TRABALHO E A INSERÇÃO DO ASSISTENTE SOCIAL NO MERCADO DE TRABALHO EM MANAUS/AM.SILVIA BEZERRA DA SILVA 13 July 2011 (has links)
[en] This research is about the recent transformations in the world of the work and the insertion of the social worker in the job market of Manaus (State of Amazonas, Brazil). In particular, it studies the insertion of the social workers that were graduated at the Centro Universitário do Norte (Uninorte Laureate) in a job market changed by the process of accumulation of capital and productive restructuring. In Brazil, especially in the city of Manaus, the recent transformations in the job market affected different kinds of workers, including the social worker that also suffers with the precarization of working conditions. In this sense, this study points out a reflection about the changes in the world of the work and its impacts to the job market of the social worker in a context were there is a growing number of universities that provide higher education in social service and on the other hand there is a restriction of public spaces and of insertion possibilities in the job market. To such end, data were gathered with the social workers that were graduated at Uninorte Laureate on 2008. The Uninorte Laureate offers higher education in social service since 2008 and today is recognized as one of the most important universities in the city of Manaus. Utilizing the results of the field research this study also aimed to promote a discussion about the perceptions of these social workers about their professional formation process and their insertion in the local job market.

[en] THE SOCIOECONOMIC PROFILE OF WOMEN MANAUARA WHO DEVELOP INFORMAL ACTIVITY IN THE VICINITY OF UNINORTE / [pt] PERFIL SOCIOECONÔMICO DAS MULHERES MANAUARAS QUE DESENVOLVEM A ATIVIDADE INFORMAL NO ENTORNO DO UNINORTECLAUDIA NEVES MAIA CORDEIRO 09 August 2011 (has links)
[en] This study aimed to analyze the socioeconomic profile of women informal workers in the city of Manaus, in the ages between 18 to 40 years, selling a variety of foods, in the vicinity of the University Center North. For this purpose, a study on women entering the labor market and the implications that the transformations of relations of the labor market resulted in the life of working women. Points informal work as both an alternative to the survival of workers outside the formal labor market, as an option to escape from too much regulation of the state s economy, job alternatives used by large formal businesses, with part-time work and contracts for services. Informality is expanding both the service of capital, as well, not anymore, one option to work even outside the formal ball, removing the worker s labor rights and social protection. The surroundings of the University Center North - Uninorte favors the practice of informal due to the large influx of students who pass through there daily and choose to consume the food sold by street vendors because of their low prices and fast service. The survey results showed that despite the poor conditions suffered by workers who live in this practice, the vendors said they were satisfied with the work.

Některé aspekty kaklulace solventnosti pojišťoven podle principů Solvency II / Some aspects of calculating solvency of insurance companies according to the principles of Solvency IIHradecký, Ondřej January 2012 (has links)
The diploma thesis focuses on the topic of the future regulatory regime of the insurance and reinsurance market of the European Union called Solvency II. Currently the most discussed issue without a final structure is an extensive set of legislative and technical changes not only in the area of solvency treatment. Primarily, the work focuses on the standard formula calculation of capital requirements that reflect the solvency position of companies on the market. The first part deals with the theoretical description of the calculating methods of the required capital levels under current and future rules on the basis of available official documents. Further the general overview of the Solvency II is presented, a more detailed description of the valuation techniques of balance sheet items for the purposes of Solvency II, dealing with company's own funds and possible ways to optimize the asset portfolio are also included. Some theoretical descriptions of computational procedures applied on a fictitious life insurance company are presented in the second, more practical part of the diploma thesis.
