In Rio de Janeiro?s state, 48% of the territory is constituted by Atlantic slope, where were registered 16 air basins with specific environmental features, distributed in 20% of the area. Based on the conformation of morphometrics parameters the air basins were grouped, by Multivariate Analysis - Cluster, with Euclidean distance of 48%, significance level of 95% and correlation coefficient of 0.7132, in 5 groups with similar forms. To evaluate the hydrologic effects within the air basins, it was used as a study case, the air basin of Angra dos Reis, where the magnitude of the interception of clouds was measured in the escape zone from the topographic divide of the Pirai river basin (leeward), in different distance away, with and without natural barriers, during the winter and summer. It was used vertical intercept sampling area equivalent to 0.45% of the forests in the region. The variation of the removal of the topographic divide occurred until 500 m of altitude, this limit may be the end of the escape zone and the beginning of the air basin distribution zone. The effect of air basin represented additional of 44% of the volume of rain in topographic divide (point 1), 39% at 4.5 km (point 2) and 42% at 7.5 km (point 3) of the point 1, in concordant direction of the flow. The effect of the orography in the trajectory of the winds, varied in an irregular way in winter and in summer, maintaining differential of 23% and 77% in point A (obstruction of 85% of the cross section) and 32% and 68% in point B (obstruction of 80% of the cross section). In areas under the influence of air basins, the variables and environmental processes can be crucial to offer environmental services in drainage basins. / A Bacia A?rea ? um espa?o tridimensional que conduz e distribui os ventos sobre as bacias hidrogr?ficas. No Estado do Rio de Janeiro, 48% do territ?rio ? composto pela vertente Atl?ntica, onde foram registradas 16 bacias a?reas com caracter?sticas ambientais espec?ficas, distribu?das em 20% da ?rea. Baseado na conforma??o de par?metros morfom?tricos as bacias a?reas foram agrupadas, atrav?s de An?lise Multivariada ? Cluster, com dist?ncia Euclidiana de 48%, n?vel de signific?ncia de 95% e coeficiente de correla??o de 0,7132 em 5 grupos com formas similares. Utilizou-se ?rea amostral de intercepta??o vertical equivalente a 0,45% das florestas da regi?o. A varia??o do afastamento do interfl?vio ocorreu at? desn?vel de 500 m em altitude, podendo ser este limite o fim da zona de escape e in?cio da zona de distribui??o da bacia a?rea. O efeito da bacia a?rea representou adicional de 44% em volume de chuva no interfl?vio (ponto 1), 39% a 4,5 km (ponto 2) e 42% a 7,5 km (ponto 3) do ponto 1 em dire??o concordante ao sentido do fluxo. O efeito da orografia no corredor variou de forma irregular no inverno e no ver?o, mantendo diferencial de 23% e 77% no ponto A (obstru??o de 85% da se??o transversal) e 32% e 68% , no ponto B (obstru??o de 80% da se??o transversal). Campus Barreiros. To guide the development work, we used the qualitative and quantitative approaches, the qualitative was important in times of discussions, seminars and bibliographic surveys, but also provided a flexible relationship between teacher and student, while the quantitative was used in the preparation spreadsheets, charts, tables and systematization of data feed intake, feed conversion and weight gain. The research was carried out during the class period of the group of husbandry 1 in agricultural technical course in the discipline poultry cut and the practice experiment was accomplished in a period of 42 (forty two) days. We adopted an interactive approach in order to develop in students an awareness of innovative and make them able to use the science produced within the production process and the parameters of competitiveness. At the beginning of the study, was applied the initial questionnaire to diagnose the knowledge about the subject, the project proceeded with discussion and demonstration of the importance of different types of food that are part of the diets and the development of the broiler. In the second moment, was a questionnaire of final diagnosis to verify the construction of knowledge through the proposed methodology, where realized that research was instrumental in developing cognitive. This paper based on the research as a method of teaching aroused the curiosity of the student in the teaching /learning through practices carried out as a choice of local area boundaries, distribution of chicks. In addition to the questionnaires, we used the following elements: seminars, lectures and practices, technical visits, videos, library, internet and laboratories, which contributed to the formation of knowledge learned. In general, this research aimed to improve the quality of our students of professional Education Agricultural they contribute a large part in the development of family farming in our country, our state and region. This integration of teaching and research contributed to the teaching/learning process through the operationalization of curriculum connect in an integrated way, providing opportunities for students to practice the acquired knowledge to find a better opportunity to work and develop entrepreneurial activities. / Este trabalho ? resultado de uma pesquisa realizada com alunos da disciplina de Avicultura Corte, teve como objetivo analisar o processo de ensino/aprendizagem, permeado pela pesquisa atrav?s de experimentos pr?ticos desenvolvidos no laborat?rio de pequenos animais do Instituto Federal de Educa??o, Ci?ncia e Tecnologia - Campus Barreiros ? PE. Para orientar o desenvolvimento do trabalho utilizou-se as abordagens qualitativa e quantitativa, a qualitativa foi importante nos momentos de discuss?es, de levantamentos bibliogr?ficos e semin?rios, como tamb?m proporcionou um relacionamento flex?vel entre o professor pesquisador e alunos, enquanto que a quantitativa foi utilizada na elabora??o de planilhas, gr?ficos, tabelas e sistematiza??o de dados do consumo de ra??o, convers?o alimentar e ganho de peso. No segundo momento, foi aplicado um question?rio de diagn?stico final para verifica??o da constru??o do conhecimento atrav?s da proposta metodol?gica, onde se percebeu que a pesquisa serviu de instrumento para o desenvolvimento cognitivo. They contribute, furthermore, to maintaining or increasing soil organic matter level, since they draw carbon and fix atmospheric Nitrogen, so mobilize and recycle nutrients, increasing microbiological soil activity. Considering the useful potential of these forage plants the seed dispersal of five legume species (Pueraria phaseoloides, Neonotonia wightii, Calopogonium mucunoides, Macrotyloma axillare and Stylosanthes cv. Mineir?o) through bovine feces in an established pasture of B. decumbens was studied in two trials. In the first one seeds mixed with concentrate were offered in the late afternoon to five crossbred (Holsten-Zebu) heifers weighing 250 kg. This experiment was carried out in a crop-pasture rotation system with five paddocks occupied for 4 days. Field evaluation were made from 12 to 30 hrs after seed ingestion, consisting in marking with sticks of different colors the sites of animal droppings in order to discriminate legume species. After 73 days of pasture vacancy was made the first evaluation in order to set the number of sprouts in the research field and Pueraria phaseoloides (puero) showed the best results, followed by Macrotyloma axillare (archer) and Calopogonium mucunoides (calopo). We accessed, in addition, the drought resistance after 266 days of pasture closure counting the survival legume plants in the pasture. The best performance for plant survival after dry season was observed in archer, followed by calopo. Concerning germination after the dry season of seeding made at the beginning of the experiment, best results were found by perennial soybean, despite its low results during the dry season. A second experiment was conducted using only archer seeds as they showed the best results concerning drought persistence. Five heifers were fed with 40 g of archer seeds; the animals were kept grazing for four days at the paddock in the crop-pasture system. At the first evaluation of this experiment we observed 215 archer plants in the research field. At the second evaluation the botanical composition analysis was made revealing the presence of 6,4% of the research area covered by archer plants (global mean of 380 plants). / As leguminosas possuem algumas caracter?sticas que contribuem para a produtividade do pasto, assim como a aduba??o verde, protegendo o solo dos agentes clim?ticos. Al?m disso, as leguminosas seq?estram o carbono e fixam o nitrog?nio atmosf?rico e, assim, apresentam potencial para manter ou elevar o teor de mat?ria org?nica, mobilizar e reciclar nutrientes e favorecer a atividade biol?gica do solo. Levando em considera??o o potencial ben?fico destas planta forrageiras objetivou-se avaliar a dispers?o de sementes de cinco leguminosas forrageiras tropicais (Pueraria phaseoloides, Neonotonia wightii, Calopogonium mucunoides, Macrotyloma axillare e Stylosanthes cv. Mineir?o) atrav?s das fezes de bovinos em pastagem j? estabelecida de Brachiaria decumbens. O primeiro experimento foi realizado em sistema de lota??o rotacionada, com 5 piquetes e 2 dias de ocupa??o. As sementes das cinco leguminosas foram oferecidas a cinco novilhas mesti?as (holand?s x zebu), pesando m?dia de 250 kg, misturadas ao concentrado no fim da tarde. Entre 12 e 30 horas ap?s a ingest?o das sementes era feita uma avalia??o a campo que consistia na marca??o com bambus de diversas cores do local das deje??es dos animais, diferenciando as esp?cies. Ap?s 73 dias de descanso foi realizada a primeira avalia??o quanto ao n?mero de plantas germinadas na ?rea experimental, sendo o Pueraria phaseoloides (kudzu tropical) a esp?cie que apresentou o melhor resultado, seguido pelo Macrotiloma axillare (macrotiloma) e Calopogonium mucunoides (calopog?nio). Ainda foi avaliada a persist?ncia ? seca, ap?s 266 dias de veda??o da pastagem, contabilizando o n?mero de plantas presentes no pasto. O melhor desempenho quanto ao n?mero m?dio de plantas ap?s a seca foi alcan?ado pelo macrotiloma, sendo seguida pelo calopog?nio. Quanto ? germina??o ap?s o per?odo de seca, das sementes implantadas no in?cio do experimento, o melhor resultado foi obtido pela soja perene, apesar da sua baixa contribui??o no per?odo de seca. O segundo experimento foi realizado apenas com sementes de macrotiloma devido ao bom resultado desta esp?cie quanto ? persist?ncia ? seca. Foram oferecidos a cinco novilhas 40g de sementes de macrotiloma; os animais permaneceram no piquete por 4 dias pastejando em sistema de lota??o rotacionada. Na primeira avalia??o deste experimento obteve-se uma m?dia de 215 plantas de macrotiloma na ?rea experimental. Na segunda avalia??o foi realizado o levantamento da composi??o bot?nica da pastagem, no qual o macrotiloma teve participa??o em 6,4% da ?rea experimental, com uma m?dia total de aproximadamente 380 plantas.

This work was carried out with the overall objective of producing information on alternative forms to control N. elegantalis, involving genetic resistance of tomato (Chapter I) and botanical extracts from weeds (Chapter II), as well as evaluating the selectivity of these botanical extracts on adults of a predator, Coleomegilla maculata (Chapter III). In Chapter I, the objective was to evaluate eight tomato varieties (Viradoro, Nemadoro, Tospodoro, HEI36, LAI148, LAI144, LAI132 and UC82) in the field under organic management, and in laboratory conditions, to identify non- preference (antixenosis) oviposition of N. elegantalis. The assay at the field was conducted at Serop?dica, RJ, Brazil, in randomized complete block design, with eight varieties, three replications and two sampling times. The laboratory assay was conducted in a cage, in a randomized complete blocks design, with eight varieties as treatments and eight replicates (days). It was noted that N. elegantalis, at the Field, had lower preference for oviposition in the fruit variety HEI36, unlike the variety LAI148, which in laboratory conditions showed a tendency to present fewer eggs and hatched larvae. In Chapter II, the objective was to evaluate the effect of deterrence of alcoholic extracts of species of weeds Cyperus rotundus, Commelina benghalensis, Richardia brasiliensis and Euphorbia heterophylla on oviposition of N. elegantalis, at different concentrations. The assay was conducted in a laboratory with an randomized complete blocks design, whose treatments were extracts of four species at concentrations 5%, 10% and 15% (4X3 factorial) with two additional treatments: control 0% (alcohol diluted in distilled water to 15%) and absolute control (distilled water), with 8 replicates (days). Green fruits of tomato cultivar Marmande (susceptible) were sprayed with the extracts and placed in a cage containing 150 pairs of N. elegantalis. Four cages were used for concentration of all extracts. The alcoholic extract of Euphorbia heterophylla at different concentrations (5%, 10% and 15%), presented effect of deterrence on oviposition of N. elegantalis differing from the other extracts. In chapter III aimed to evaluate the selectivity of alcoholic extracts of weeds Cyperus rotundus, Commelina benghalensis, Richardia brasiliensis, Euphorbia heterophylla, in three different concentrations applied to 10 adult individuals of C. maculate, by replication. The effects of extracts on insect biological parameters were evaluated along 30 days after spraying. The trial was conducted in laboratory with a complete randomized design. Treatments was alcoholic extracts of four plant species diluted in distilled water at three concentrations (5, 10 and 15%) (4x3 factorial) with two controls, 15% alcohol and distilled water. In general, the extracts showed selectivity for the adult C. maculata treated topically, although Euphorbia heterophylla has affected the number of hatched larvae and reduced egg viability when compared with other treatments. / Neoleucinodes elegantalis (Guen?e, 1854) (Lepidoptera: Crambidae), uma das principais pragas da tomaticultura no Brasil, ? controlada basicamente com inseticidas qu?micos. O presente trabalho foi realizado com o objetivo geral de produzir informa??es sobre medidas alternativas de controle de N. elegantalis envolvendo a resist?ncia gen?tica do tomateiro (Cap?tulo I) e os extratos bot?nicos provenientes de plantas espont?neas (Cap?tulo II), bem como avaliar a seletividade desses extratos bot?nicos aos adultos de um predador, Coleomegilla maculata (Cap?tulo III). No cap?tulo I, o objetivo foi o de avaliar oito variedades de tomateiro (Viradoro, Nemadoro, Tospodoro, HEI36, LAI148, LAI144, LAI132 e UC82), em campo, sob manejo org?nico, e em condi??es de laborat?rio, para identificar a n?o-prefer?ncia (antixenose) para oviposi??o de N. elegantalis. O ensaio de campo foi conduzido na Fazendinha Agroecol?gica km 47 (Serop?dica, RJ), em delineamento em bloco ao acaso, com oito variedades, tr?s repeti??es e duas ?pocas de avalia??o. O ensaio de laborat?rio foi conduzido em gaiola, com delineamento em blocos ao acaso, tendo como tratamentos as oito variedades e oito repeti??es (dias). Observou-se em campo que N. elegantalis teve menor prefer?ncia para oviposi??o em frutos da variedade HEI36 e, em condi??es de laborat?rio, houve uma tend?ncia da variedade LAI148 em apresentar menor n?mero de ovos e de larvas eclodidas. No cap?tulo II, o objetivo foi o de avaliar o efeito de deterr?ncia dos extratos alco?licos das esp?cies de plantas espont?neas Cyperus rotundus, Commelina benghalensis, Richardia brasiliensis e Euphorbia heterophylla na oviposi??o de N. elegantalis, quando aplicados em diferentes concentra??es. O ensaio foi conduzido em laborat?rio, com delineamento experimental em blocos casualizados, tendo como tratamentos os extratos das quatro esp?cies nas concentra??es 5%, 10% e 15% (fatorial 4X3), com dois tratamentos adicionais: testemunha 0% (?lcool dilu?do em ?gua destilada a 15%) e testemunha absoluta (?gua destilada), com 8 repeti??es (dias). Frutos verdes de tomate cv. Marmande (suscept?vel) foram pulverizados com os extratos e acondicionados em gaiola contendo 150 casais de N. elegantalis. Foram utilizadas quatro gaiolas por concentra??o de todos os extratos. O extrato alco?lico de Euphorbia heterophylla nas diferentes concentra??es (5%, 10% e 15%), apresentou efeito de deterr?ncia sobre a oviposi??o de N. elegantalis diferindo dos demais extratos. No cap?tulo III, objetivou-se avaliar a seletividade dos extratos alco?licos das esp?cies de plantas espont?neas Cyperus rotundus, Commelina benghalensis, Richardia brasiliensis e Euphorbia heterophylla, em tr?s diferentes concentra??es, aplicados sobre 10 indiv?duos adultos de C. maculata, por repeti??o. Os efeitos dos extratos sobre par?metros biol?gicos dos insetos foram avaliados durante 30 dias ap?s a pulveriza??o. O ensaio foi conduzido em laborat?rio, com o delineamento inteiramente casualizado. Os tratamentos consistiram dos extratos alco?licos das quatro esp?cies bot?nicas dilu?dos em ?gua destilada em tr?s concentra??es (5, 10 e 15%) (fatorial 4x3), com duas testemunhas, ?lcool a 15% e ?gua destilada. No geral, os extratos apresentaram seletividade para os adultos de C. maculata tratados topicamente, embora a Euphorbia heterophylla (leiteiro) tenha xi afetado o n?mero de larvas eclodidas e reduzido a viabilidade dos ovos quando comparada com os demais tratamentos.

The aim of this study was to evaluate aspects of embryo transfer, embryo morphology and gender identification of hybrid (horses x donkeys) embryos, checking either their similarity or divergence with the characteristics already known of equine embryos. Attempts of embryo collection on Day 6 -9 after OV were performed in mares previously bred with a P?ga donkey. The embryo recovery rates, the characteristics related to age, morphology and embryonic diameter were evaluated. After these assessments, a group of embryos was cut using an adapted technique, where, the cutting process was carried out with the aid of an ophthalmic scalpel blade. The resulting biggest cut portion was used for embryo transfer, and the smallest parts and the others whole embryos to determination of the embryo gender. Data were analyzed using Fisher's exact test, with 5% significance, except the daily growth of embryos, which was analyzed by linear regression. The overall embryo recovery rate was 55,9% (71/127), and for each group D6, D7, D8 and D9, was 57,1% (28/49), 51% (25/49), 63% (15/24) 60% (3/5), respectively. The developmental stage of the collected embryos were, morula: 18.3% (13/71); early blastocysts: 26,8% (19/71); blastocyst: 29,6% (21/71); and expanded blastocysts: 25,3% (18/71). The measured diameter revealed that the size of the embryos ranged from 147 to 1688?m, the mean diameter of all collected embryos was 438,04?m, and according to different groups, the average size (smallest and largest diameter) of embryos were D6 (n = 29) - 183,4?m (147 - 253?m), D7 (n = 24) - 463,2?m (168 - 886?m), D8 (n = 15) - 727,2?m (422 - 1224?m ) and D9 (n = 3) - 1350,6?m (844 - 1688?m), and daily growth rate was 312,7?m. After the section, the 23 embryos were transfered, only one recipient mare was diagnosed as pregnant at 15 days after ovulation, however after 30 days the embryo was lost. The efficiency of the sex identification by PCR using the primers SRY and ZFX / ZFY was 85,9% (61/71), being 55,7% (34/61) determined as female: and 39,3% (27/61) as male. Embryo transfer has shown to be favorable to aid mule reproduction, whereas the recovery rate and the characteristics of the embryos are similar to equine embryos. Altough, the methodology used to section of embryos had unable the gestational development, the most part of the biopsy derived cutting allowed sexing of the embryos / A transfer?ncia de embri?es e outras biotecnologias reprodutivas s?o cada vez mais utilizadas para a produ??o de equinos e de outros animais, entretanto, mesmo com a expans?o do mercado de muares e com crescimento do n?mero de animais, as pesquisas relacionadas com a produ??o desses animais ainda s?o raras. O presente estudo avaliou as caracter?sticas relacionadas ? transfer?ncia de embri?es, a morfologia e a identifica??o do sexo de embri?es h?bridos (muares), verificando sua semelhan?a ou diverg?ncia com as caracter?sticas j? conhecidas em equinos. Foram realizadas colheitas de embri?es provenientes do cruzamento de ?guas com um jumento P?ga, nos dias 6, 7, 8 e 9 ap?s a ovula??o, a taxa de recupera??o embrion?ria, e as caracter?sticas relacionadas com a idade, morfologia e di?metro embrion?rio foram avaliadas para os diferentes dias. Ap?s essas avalia??es, uma parte dos embri?es coletados foi seccionada, com uma t?cnica adaptada onde o corte foi realizado com o aux?lio de uma l?mina de bisturi oftalmol?gico. A maior por??o resultante do corte foi destinada para transfer?ncia de embri?es e a menor parte, juntamente com os embri?es inteiros, foram utilizados para verificar a efici?ncia dos primers SRY e ZFX/ZFY, na an?lise molecular para a determina??o do sexo dos embri?es. Os dados foram analisados pelo teste Exato de Fisher, com 5% de signific?ncia, exceto o crescimento di?rio dos embri?es que foi analisado atrav?s da regress?o linear. A taxa de recupera??o embrion?ria total foi de 55,9% (71/127), e para os diferentes dias de colheita D6, D7, D8 e D9, foi 57,1% (28/49), 51% (25/49), 63% (15/24), 60% (3/5), respectivamente. Os embri?es coletados apresentavam-se nos seguintes est?gios de desenvolvimento, m?rulas: 18,3% (13/71); blastocistos iniciais: 26,8% (19/71); blastocistos: 29,6% (21/71); e blastocistos expandidos: 25,3% (18/71). O di?metro mensurado revelou que o tamanho dos embri?es variou entre 147 - 1688?m, a m?dia do di?metro de todos os embri?es recolhidos foi de 438,04?m, e de acordo com os diferentes dias de colheita, o tamanho m?dio (maior e menor di?metro) dos embri?es foi de: D6 (n = 29) ? 183,4?m (147 - 253?m), D7 (n = 24) ? 463,2?m (168 - 886?m), D8 (n = 15) ? 727,2?m (422 - 1224?m) e D9 (n = 3) ? 1350,6?m (844 ? 1688?m), e a taxa de crescimento di?ria foi de 312,7?m. A identifica??o do sexo atrav?s da t?cnica de PCR, utilizando os primers SRY e ZFx/ZFy foi de 85,9% (61/71), sendo determinado f?meas: 55,7% (34/61) e machos: 39,3% (27/61). A transfer?ncia de embri?es ? favor?vel para auxiliar na produ??o de muares, a taxa de recupera??o e as caracter?sticas dos embri?es s?o semelhantes aos embri?es equinos. A metodologia de sec??o dos embri?es, inviabilizou o desenvolvimento gestacional, entretanto a biopsia oriunda do corte permitiu a sexagem da maioria dos embri?es coletados.

This work was carried out with the overall objective of producing information on alternative forms to control N. elegantalis, involving genetic resistance of tomato (Chapter I) and botanical extracts from weeds (Chapter II), as well as evaluating the selectivity of these botanical extracts on adults of a predator, Coleomegilla maculata (Chapter III). In Chapter I, the objective was to evaluate eight tomato varieties (Viradoro, Nemadoro, Tospodoro, HEI36, LAI148, LAI144, LAI132 and UC82) in the field under organic management, and in laboratory conditions, to identify non- preference (antixenosis) oviposition of N. elegantalis. The assay at the field was conducted at Serop?dica, RJ, Brazil, in randomized complete block design, with eight varieties, three replications and two sampling times. The laboratory assay was conducted in a cage, in a randomized complete blocks design, with eight varieties as treatments and eight replicates (days). It was noted that N. elegantalis, at the Field, had lower preference for oviposition in the fruit variety HEI36, unlike the variety LAI148, which in laboratory conditions showed a tendency to present fewer eggs and hatched larvae. In Chapter II, the objective was to evaluate the effect of deterrence of alcoholic extracts of species of weeds Cyperus rotundus, Commelina benghalensis, Richardia brasiliensis and Euphorbia heterophylla on oviposition of N. elegantalis, at different concentrations. The assay was conducted in a laboratory with an randomized complete blocks design, whose treatments were extracts of four species at concentrations 5%, 10% and 15% (4X3 factorial) with two additional treatments: control 0% (alcohol diluted in distilled water to 15%) and absolute control (distilled water), with 8 replicates (days). Green fruits of tomato cultivar Marmande (susceptible) were sprayed with the extracts and placed in a cage containing 150 pairs of N. elegantalis. Four cages were used for concentration of all extracts. The alcoholic extract of Euphorbia heterophylla at different concentrations (5%, 10% and 15%), presented effect of deterrence on oviposition of N. elegantalis differing from the other extracts. In chapter III aimed to evaluate the selectivity of alcoholic extracts of weeds Cyperus rotundus, Commelina benghalensis, Richardia brasiliensis, Euphorbia heterophylla, in three different concentrations applied to 10 adult individuals of C. maculate, by replication. The effects of extracts on insect biological parameters were evaluated along 30 days after spraying. The trial was conducted in laboratory with a complete randomized design. Treatments was alcoholic extracts of four plant species diluted in distilled water at three concentrations (5, 10 and 15%) (4x3 factorial) with two controls, 15% alcohol and distilled water. In general, the extracts showed selectivity for the adult C. maculata treated topically, although Euphorbia heterophylla has affected the number of hatched larvae and reduced egg viability when compared with other treatments. / Neoleucinodes elegantalis (Guen?e, 1854) (Lepidoptera: Crambidae), uma das principais pragas da tomaticultura no Brasil, ? controlada basicamente com inseticidas qu?micos. O presente trabalho foi realizado com o objetivo geral de produzir informa??es sobre medidas alternativas de controle de N. elegantalis envolvendo a resist?ncia gen?tica do tomateiro (Cap?tulo I) e os extratos bot?nicos provenientes de plantas espont?neas (Cap?tulo II), bem como avaliar a seletividade desses extratos bot?nicos aos adultos de um predador, Coleomegilla maculata (Cap?tulo III). The objective of this study was to determine the most efficient form of control for the rapid formation of afforestation, with lower maintenance costs. five different strategies were compared to control brachiaria populations in forest restoration area in the city of Bom Jardim, RJ: T1 (weeding in bands along the lines of planting and mowing between the lines); T2 (weeding in ranges in plant rows and glyphosate applications between the lines); T3 (weeding in ranges in plant rows, mowing the supplementary cover lines and fertilization for forest species); T4 (weeding in total area and consortium with herbaceous legume nitrogen fixing) and T5 (weeding in ranges in plant rows, mowing and consortium with eucalyptus between the lines). Evaluated the growth in height, diameter at ground level and length of crown ten native species of the Atlantic, as well as all costs involved in the implementation and maintenance of each treatment up to 30 months after planting. In every age assessment, forest plants showed significantly higher growth in treatments intercropped with legumes and glyphosate application. When compared to the conventional management (T1), the group formed by the ten native species grew in height, diameter at ground level and in the pantry units that received the T4 (Legumes) and T2 (Glyphosate). Both the consortium with legumes (T4) and the application of glyphosate (T2) were effective strategies in training time reductions of deployed settlement, resulting in growth gain of 78% and 58% respectively compared to the conventional management (T1 ). However, the maintenance cost of the treatment consortium with legumes (T4) was almost six times greater than the treatment of glyphosate application (T2), indicating that the latter was also the most efficient strategy for promoting growth of indigenous species at lower cost maintenance. Supplementary fertilization increased maintenance costs and growth gain was not different from the conventional treatment (T1). The cultivation of eucalyptus in the planting lines not harmed the growth of native species up to 30 months after planting. The future use of eucalyptus wood has as predicate revenue generation in the areas intended for forest restoration. Once all forest species assessed, increased in gain when intercropped with legumes, and you can anticipate the formation of the population, this strategy should be enhanced to achieve gains in efficiency. The control strategy by applying glyphosate was the most efficient, so that with only two application of this herbicide was possible to form stands to catalyze forest restoration in state of Rio de Janeiro / A restaura??o florestal em ?reas de pastagens, dominadas por Urochloa spp. (braqui?rias) apresenta custo relativamente elevado, principalmente pela dificuldade de controle das popula??es destas esp?cies. O objetivo deste trabalho foi determinar a forma de controle mais eficaz para a r?pida forma??o do povoamento florestal, com menor custo de manuten??o. Foram comparadas cinco diferentes estrat?gias para controle de popula??es de braqui?ria em ?rea de restaura??o florestal no munic?pio de Bom Jardim, RJ: T1 (capina em faixas nas linhas de plantio e ro?adas nas entrelinhas); T2 (capina em faixas nas linhas de plantio e aplica??es do herbicida glyphosate nas entrelinhas); T3 (capina em faixas nas linhas de plantio, ro?ada nas entrelinhas e aduba??es de cobertura complementar para as esp?cies florestais); T4 (capina em ?rea total e cons?rcio com leguminosas herb?ceas fixadoras de nitrog?nio) e T5 (capina em faixas nas linhas de plantio, ro?adas e cons?rcio com eucalipto nas entrelinhas). Avaliou-se o crescimento em altura, di?metro ao n?vel do solo e comprimento de copa de dez esp?cies arb?reas nativas da Mata Atl?ntica, bem como todos os custos envolvidos na aplica??o e manuten??o de cada tratamento at? 30 meses ap?s o plantio. Em todas as ?pocas de avalia??o, as plantas florestais apresentaram crescimento significativamente superior nos tratamentos cons?rcio com leguminosas e de aplica??o de glyphosate. Quando comparadas com o manejo convencional (T1), o grupo formado pelas dez esp?cies florestais nativas cresceram mais em altura, di?metro ao n?vel do solo e de copa nas unidades que receberam o T4 (Leguminosas) e o T2 (Glyphosate). Tanto o cons?rcio com leguminosas (T4) quanto a aplica??o de glyphosate (T2) foram estrat?gias eficazes na redu??o de tempo de forma??o do povoamento implantado, resultando em ganho de crescimento de 78% e 58%, respectivamente, quando comparadas com o manejo convencional (T1). Entretanto, o custo de manuten??o no tratamento cons?rcio com leguminosas (T4) foi quase seis vezes maior que o tratamento de aplica??o de glyphosate (T2), indicando que esta ?ltima foi tamb?m a estrat?gia mais eficiente, uma vez que o r?pido crescimento das esp?cies nativas foi alcan?ado com menor custo de manuten??o. Aduba??es complementares aumentaram os custos de manuten??o e o ganho de crescimento n?o diferiu do tratamento convencional (T1). O cultivo do eucalipto nas entrelinhas de plantio n?o prejudicou o crescimento das esp?cies nativas at? os 30 meses ap?s o plantio. O uso futuro da madeira de eucalipto tem como predicativo a gera??o de receita nas ?reas destinadas ? restaura??o florestal. Uma vez que todas as esp?cies florestais avaliadas, apresentaram ganho em crescimento quando em cons?rcio com leguminosas, sendo poss?vel antecipar a forma??o do povoamento, esta estrat?gia deve ser aprimorada, visando ganhos em efici?ncia. A estrat?gia de controle por aplica??o de glyphosate foi a mais eficiente, de tal forma que com apenas duas aplica??o deste herbicida foi poss?vel formar povoamentos para catalisar a restaura??o florestal no estado do Rio de Janeiro.

Many authors state that this relationship is always disharmonious, while others claim it is the only possible way to save not only biodiversity, but the culture to which it belongs. Biological diversity and its resources are of fundamental importance for the economic and cultural development of different social groups, whether traditional or not. One way to understand man's relationship with nature is to study the vegetal world, the primary source of energy that has always been present in our daily lives. In order to understand this relationship, a discipline has been developed over the years, ethnobotany, which deals with studying this interaction with plants. This work?s main objective is to identify how the man - nature relationship occurs, based on the knowledge and use of plant resources, analyzing the influence on the conservation of local biodiversity, particularly in regions that have Protected Areas Units, in the Atlantic Forest, considering the historical, cultural and socio-economic reality of rural groups living in a town in the southern state of Rio de Janeiro, Southeast Region. Divided into three chapters, the first one consists of a literature review on rural southeastern Brazil in a 10-year period (2004-2014). In the second and third chapters, four rural localities within the same municipality, which have occupancy stories and different lifestyles, being located close to protected areas, were studied, in the period between August / 2012 and August / 2014. Secondary and primary data were used in data collection. Interviews were conducted with 180 residents, mostly over 40, women, married, proprietors and over 30 years of residence. Non-agricultural employment increased, compared to the past, almost entirely devoted to agriculture and / or livestock. Customs and landscape have changed in the last 30 years with the abandonment of certain economic activities and increased public services. 294 plants, of which residents had some kind of knowledge and use, were identified. In what has been observed and analyzed, environmental planning should consider the local culture of those who know and / or use local vegetation, because they interfere with the diversity of plants and help control local environments conservation. Alternatives to reconcile the use of resources with actions of environmental bodies should include the participation of localresidents in plans and actions of Protected Areas, analyzing what is actually used and also assisting in the creation of living and working alternatives. / A rela??o homem-natureza ? um tema complexo e com muitos pontos que devem ser discutidos, principalmente em rela??o ? conserva??o e prote??o de recursos naturais usados pela sociedade. A ocupa??o n?o-agr?cola aumentou, relativamente ao passado quase totalmente dedicado ? agricultura e/ou pecu?ria. Os costumes e a paisagem se modificaram nos ?ltimos 30 anos, com o abandono de algumas atividades econ?micas e aumento dos servi?os p?blicos. Foram identificadas 294 plantas com algum tipo de conhecimento e uso pelos residentes. Em tudo que foi observado e analisado, o planejamento ambiental deveria considerar a cultura local daqueles que conhecem e/ou usam a vegeta??o local, pois eles interferem na diversidade de plantas e auxiliam no controle da conserva??o dos ambientes locais. Alternativas visando a conciliar o uso dos recursos e a??es dos org?os ambientais devem incluir a participa??o dos grupos locais em planos e a??es das Unidades de Conserva??o, analisando o que ? realmente usado, auxiliando tamb?m na cria??o de alternativas de vida e trabalho.

Given the scarcity of regular spatial information and long time series for the study area, it was initially carried out a validation between air temperature and precipitation data in Global Grid Precipitation Climatology Centre (GPCC), University of Delaware (UDEL) and Global Historical Climatology Network (GHCN) with data from five Weather Stations Mainstream (EMC) to Acre and region, through an analysis of precision and accuracy of the data. Regarding precipitation, it was found that both the GPCC UDEL represented as the average variability significantly throughout the series. In relation to the air temperature standards, although the accuracy of GHCN and UDEL was low, it was satisfactory accuracy according to statistical methods. Assuming that the extreme weather events increase susceptibility to forest fires, then it was carried out an analysis of the influence of climate variability modes in generating categorized scenarios dry or wet years, based on the Standardized Precipitation Index (SPI) and Harmonic and Spectral (AHE). It was found that the AHE is not able to identify the intensity of the events, but was satisfactory in the signal cycles identifying the anomaly, i.e., whether the abnormality SPI was positive or negative. It was found that the Atlantic signal had greater influence on the precipitation of the Pacific. For the regions that correspond to Groups 1, 2 and 3 there was an inverse pattern for precipitation in relation to ENSO compared to the North and East Amazon. Thus, it identified negative precipitation anomalies during La Ni?a and El Ni?o events during positive events for the dry and rainy seasons. For the area corresponding to the effect Group 4 was otherwise. The natural climate variability patterns identified in this study may contribute to the establishment of strategies for prevention and adaptation to extreme events. Finally, in Chapter 3 was carried out an analysis of the spatial and temporal patterns of the fire in Acre, through a discussion of various climatic, environmental and anthropogenic variables that contribute to its occurrence. Thus, through the Random Forest algorithm were generated susceptibility maps that estimated the probability of fires and burned in the state. . It was found that although drought triggers an increase in the number of hot spots, its spatial pattern is more related to human factors such as the proximity areas already cleared. / A presente pesquisa analisa as vari?veis temporais e espaciais que podem afetar a distribui??o e frequ?ncia dos focos de calor no estado do Acre. Diante da escassez de dados regularmente espacializados e com longa s?rie temporal para a ?rea de estudo, inicialmente foi realizada uma valida??o entre os dados de temperatura do ar e precipita??o em grade do Global Precipitation Climatology Centre (GPCC), Universidade de Delaware (UDEL) e Global Historical Climatology Network (GHCN) com dados de cinco Esta??es Meteorol?gicas Convencionais (EMC) para o Acre e regi?o, atrav?s de uma an?lise da precis?o e exatid?o dos dados. Em rela??o ? precipita??o, verificou-se que tanto o GPCC quanto da UDEL representaram significativamente as variabilidades m?dias ao longo da s?rie. Em rela??o aos padr?es da temperatura do ar, embora a precis?o do GHCN e da UDEL tenha sido baixa, a exatid?o foi satisfat?ria segundo os m?todos estat?sticos. Partindo do pressuposto que os eventos clim?ticos extremos aumentam a suscetibilidade a inc?ndios florestais, em seguida foi realizada uma an?lise da influ?ncia dos modos de variabilidade clim?tica na gera??o de cen?rios categorizados de anos secos ou ?midos, baseado no ?ndice de Precipita??o Padronizado (SPI) e na An?lise Harm?nica e Espectral (AHE). Verificou-se que a AHE n?o foi capaz de identificar a intensidade dos eventos, mas mostrou-se satisfat?ria na identifica??o dos ciclos de sinal da anomalia, ou seja, se anomalia do SPI foi positiva ou negativa. Verificou-se que o sinal do Atl?ntico teve maior influ?ncia sobre a precipita??o do que o Pac?fico. Para as regi?es que correspondem os Grupos 1, 2 e 3 observou-se um padr?o inverso para a precipita??o em rela??o ao ENOS, quando comparado com a Amaz?nia Norte e Oriental. Assim, foram identificadas anomalias negativas de precipita??o durante eventos de La Ni?a e positivas durante eventos de El Ni?o para as esta??es seca e chuvosa. Para a regi?o que corresponde ao Grupo 4 o efeito foi contr?rio. Os padr?es de variabilidade natural do clima identificados nesse trabalho podem contribuir para o estabelecimento de estrat?gias de preven??o e adapta??o aos eventos extremos. Finalmente, no Cap?tulo 3 foi realizada uma an?lise sobre o padr?o espacial e temporal do fogo no Acre, atrav?s de uma discuss?o sobre diversas vari?veis clim?ticas, ambientais e antr?picas que contribuem para a sua ocorr?ncia. Assim, por meio do algoritmo Random Forest foram gerados mapas de suscetibilidade que estimaram a probabilidade de ocorr?ncia de inc?ndios e queimadas no estado. Verificou-se que, embora a estiagem propicie um aumento do n?mero de focos de calor, o seu padr?o espacial est? mais relacionado a fatores antr?picos, tais como a proximidade de ?reas j? desmatadas.

Also to obtain a corn response pattern to green manure and equivalence to N added as ammonium sulphate fertilizer. The study was conducted in 2005 and 2006, under field conditions, in the experimental area of Embrapa Agrobiologia, Serop?dica, RJ. The soil in the experimental area was identified as a Fragiudult. In the first experiment, a randomized block with four replicates design was used to test four planting densities of crotalaria (50, 100, 150 e 200 plants m-2). In the second experiment, it was used a randomized block, and it was evaluated the corn crop response pattern to doses of 0, 75, 150, 225 and 300 kg N ha-1, applied in the form of crotalaria biomass, without incorporation in the soil. For comparing N corn response it was used as reference the N fertilizer ammonium sulphate, at 0, 38, 75, 113 and 150 kg N ha-1 dosages. In the first experiment, the height of crotalaria plants was affected by the plant densities per linear meter (15, 30, 45 and 60 pl/m), starting at 48 days after the planting. The density treatment of 15 plants presented the tallest height. The variation of crotalaria plants population did not favor differences in N accumulation, biological nitrogen fixation, ratio shoot/leaf and dry aerial biomass production of crotalaria. On average, crotalaria produced an amount of dry mass of 9.0 Mg ha-1 and accumulated 164.36 kg N ha-1, with an average height of 2.6 m. From the total of N accumulated by crotalaria, 59% derived from BNF and the remaining from the soil. This leguminous was able to add to soil, through BNF, about 97 kg N ha-1, consisting in an excellent strategy of supplying N to soil. The different crotalaria population arrangements resulted in a production of aerial dry matter and N accumulation in corn, in the milky grain stage, higher than the reference plot without N. In the second experiment, crotalaria produced an amount of dry matter of 11.5 Mg ha-1 and accumulated 328 kg N ha-1 in 112 days. Each unit of mineral-N and green manure-N resulted in an increment of 22.27 and 11.98 kg ha-1, respectively. A linear model was also adjusted for total N accumulation in corn as function of green manure-N doses (R2 = 0.64) and with Nammonium sulphate (R2 = 0.79) to 5% of significance level. Each unit of mineral-N and green manure-N resulted in an increment of 0.43 and 0.09 kg ha-1, respectively. It was concluded, through the angular coefficients of the linear regression equations, which green manure and mineral fertilizer did not presented same efficiency, neither in crotalaria dry biomass production nor in total N accumulation. Therefore, it takes twice and five times more green manure to reach the same production of dry matter and total N accumulation, respectively. / O estudo teve como objetivos avaliar a altura e a densidade de plantio de crotal?ria (Crotalaria juncea L.) como indicadores da produ??o de biomassa, acumula??o de N e potencial de fixa??o biol?gica de nitrog?nio na planta, e sua influ?ncia na cultura do milho (Zea mays L.), assim como se obter uma curva de resposta da cultura do milho ? aduba??o verde, em equival?ncia ao N na forma de sulfato de am?nio. Foram conduzidos trabalhos experimentais nos anos de 2005 e 2006, sob condi??es de campo na ?rea experimental da Embrapa Agrobiologia, Serop?dica, RJ. Os experimentos foram instalados em um Planossolo H?plico, sendo que, no primeiro experimento, utilizou-se um delineamento em blocos ao acaso, com quatro repeti??es, para testar quatro densidades de plantio de crotal?ria (50, 100, 150 e 200 plantas m-2). No segundo experimento, utilizou-se um delineamento em blocos ao acaso e avaliou-se a resposta da cultura do milho ?s doses de 0, 75, 150, 225 e 300 kg N ha-1 na forma de parte a?rea de crotal?ria, sem incorpora??o no solo, tendo como refer?ncia a resposta ? fertiliza??o com doses de 0, 38, 75, 113 e 150 kg N ha-1 na forma de N-sulfato de am?nio. No primeiro experimento, a altura da planta de crotal?ria foi afetada pelas densidades de plantas por metro linear (15, 30, 45 e 60 pl/m) a partir dos 48 dias ap?s o plantio, sendo a densidade de 15 plantas a que apresentou a maior altura. A varia??o da popula??o de plantas de crotal?ria n?o favoreceu diferen?as na acumula??o de N, fixa??o biol?gica de nitrog?nio, rela??o caule/folha e produ??o de biomassa seca a?rea pela crotal?ria. Em m?dia, a crotal?ria produziu uma quantidade de mat?ria seca de 9,0 Mg ha-1 e acumulou 164,36 kg N ha-1, com uma altura m?dia de (2,6 m). Do total de N acumulado pela crotal?ria, 59% foram derivados da FBN, sendo o restante proveniente do solo. Sendo assim, essa leguminosa foi capaz de aportar ao solo, via FBN, cerca de 97 kg N ha-1, constituindo-se em uma excelente estrat?gia de fornecimento de N ao solo. Os diferentes arranjos populacionais da crotal?ria resultaram em uma produ??o de mat?ria seca a?rea e ac?mulo de nitrog?nio no milho no est?dio de gr?o leitoso superior a testemunha n?o nitrogenada. No segundo experimento, a crotal?ria produziu uma quantidade de mat?ria seca de 11,5 Mg ha-1, acumulou 328 kg N ha-1 em 112 dias. Um no milho em fun??o das doses de N como adubo verde (R2 = 0,64) e com N-Sulfato de am?nio (R2 = 0,79) ao n?vel de 5% de signific?ncia. Para cada unidade de N mineral e Nadubo verde resultou em um incremento de (0,43 e 0,09 kg ha-1), respectivamente. Concluiuse atrav?s dos coeficientes angulares das equa??es de regress?o linear que o adubo verde e o adubo mineral n?o apresentaram a mesma efici?ncia quanto a produ??o de biomassa a?rea seca da crotal?ria nem quanto ao ac?mulo de N-total, sendo portanto necess?rio duas e cinco vezes a mais adubo verde para alcan?ar a mesma produ??o de mat?ria seca e ac?mulo de Ntotal, respectivamente.
