The visitor experience of a digital event : - through emotional and functional value.Ardner, Matilda, Blomqvist, Amanda, Falberg, Lovisa January 2021 (has links)
Covid-19 changed the event industry and organizers had to change and develop digital events. The great competition among events and the fact that the event industry is not sufficiently digital mature has contributed to research on the design of digital events becoming even more significant. Accordingly, it became necessary in a changed event environment to study a digital event from a consumer perspective, in order to contribute to event organizers being able to design digital events more efficiently. The experience room is the physical environment where all events take place. It is based on the experience room where different attributes form and result in quality dimensions which differ depending on the event, and affect visitors' perceived emotional and functional value. By focusing on both emotional and functional value, organizers can maximize the benefits of the event and enhance visitors' experience. The purpose of this study is thus to create an increased understanding of which dimensions are important in the design of a digital event by studying visitors' experience based on emotional- and functional value. A quantitative approach has been implemented by collecting data through a web-based survey. The study is applied to an internal digital corporate event and the survey received 103 responses that result in a 100 percent response rate. The answers have then been presented and analyzed. Based on the results of the study, it turned out that information services, program content and products were important quality dimensions in the design of the specific event. This contributed to emotional- and functional value and has thus been decisive factors in an enhanced experience. Furthermore, the results showed that there was a connection between emotional and functional statements, which means that the multidimensional approach can be applied to this specific digital event. Additionally, the study finds connections between the functional and emotional statements indicating that the value from, for example information services has a connection with program content. This signifies that the value can be strengthened by the fact that both the information introduced to the event made it possible for me to enjoy the event, and that the layout of the AW was entertaining. The following essay is written in swedish.

Adolescent Experience with Trauma and Orthopedic External Fixation: A DissertationPatterson, Michele M. Tervo 01 April 2007 (has links)
Over 13 million adolescents sustain traumatic injuries yearly, resulting in functional disability, disfigurement, psychosocial problems and fractures. These fractures are increasingly being treated with orthopedic external fixation devices (EFDs). The purpose of this study was to describe the experience of traumatically injured adolescents treated with EFDs. The 4 aims of the study focused on the circumstances leading to the traumatic event, experiences following the traumatic event, the impact of EFD treatment, and adolescents’ role in pin-care self-management, which is crucial to preventing infection.
This longitudinal, qualitative descriptive study used purposive sampling to recruit 5 male and 4 female adolescents, 13-20 years old, from a New England level-1 trauma center. Participants were injured in motor vehicle crashes (including an all-terrain vehicle), falls, by gunshot, trampoline and football trauma. Interview questions were framed by two themes from a study of adult recovery from physical injury, i.e., the event and fallout. Participants were interviewed within days of the injury, 2 weeks after returning home, and within one month of EFD removal. Data were coded from verbatim transcripts using NVIVO and organized into themes guided by the principles of qualitative analysis.
An overarching theme of “old self no more; forever changed” emerged from 26 interviews. The participants’ experience affected all tasks of adolescence: independence from parents, accepting body image, peer relations, and forming an identity. Major themes included “what risk?”, regarding circumstances leading to the traumatic event, mastering the environment, was 2 part first, processing the event, where determining fault and realizing everything has changed, they were ambivalently lucky, and not invincible. Secondly “suck it up and deal with it”, where strategies to deal with traumatic injury emerged (i.e. medication, channeling outlets, and slow caution). EFD experience revealed “Space age robot” and “they’ll do it themselves” as emergent themes. EFDs were described as painless, robotic, no big deal and necessary. One draining pin-site was noted. Findings related to use of self-administered analgesics, information technology, recall of detail, and gender differences in coping may lead to future interventions. These findings lay the groundwork for future studies that may improve care of adolescents during acute recovery from traumatic injury.

Hemarbetets påverkan på mindre lägenheter : - en konceptuell utformning med fokus på plats för hemarbete / The effect of working-from-home on small apartments : - a conceptual design with focus on space for work in homesMartinsson, Jonna January 2021 (has links)
In the year 2020, the world was hit by a pandemic. In an attempt to slow down the rapid spread of the infection the Swedish Public Health Agency has since March 2020 recommended employers to let their employees work from home. In the same time as we are recommended to work from home, housing has in recent years only become smaller and smaller. Studies show that we will want to continue working from home even after the pandemic, therefore the pandemic is believed to be a turning point for housing construction. The purpose of this study is to investigate whether the sudden demand for working from home may affect the design of residences in the future and how a workplace can be integrated in or in correlation to a residence. To answer the purpose, a literature study, case study and own conceptual design have been done. The literature study was made by examining published studies about working from home during the Covid-19-pandemic and older studies on working from home in general. The literature study also examined the Swedish building regulations that form the basis for the studies in the case study and the floor plans presented in the results. The case study examines seven different apartments divided into four categories: office space in one room in an apartment, work space in an apartment, separate office in connection with housing, and common space for office space in apartment buildings. These categories are then also used for the conceptual designing. The conceptual designing was based on the literature and the case study. In order to make the results true too real life, two of the cases studied were chosen in the case study as a template for the designing. The conceptual designing resulted in a number of different floor plans divided into the same categories as the case study. The conclusion of this study is that it is very likely that the Covid-19 pandemic and working from home will change how we build residences today. This study shows a number of different ways in which working from home can be integrated into or in correlation to a residence.

Prevention av tryckskada är ett gemensamt omvårdnadsansvar : en intervjustudie med operation- och anestesisjuksköterskor / Prevention of pressure injury is a common nursing responsibility : an interview study with operating room nurses and anesthesia nursesMolin, Camilla, Myhrman, Sofia January 2021 (has links)
Introduction: Patients undergoing surgery have an increased risk of suffering a pressure injury as the patient is immobilized for a long time. Pressure injury affects the patient's quality of life and causes increased suffering, while at the same time it increases costs for society. The operating room nurse and anesthesia nurse both have a nursing responsibility for the patient undergoing surgery. The responsibility for nursing lies in the prevention of pressure injury. Previous research is limited regarding the operating room nurse’s and anesthesia nurse’s common experiences in the prevention of pressure injury. Aim: The aim was to deskribe experiences of prevention of pressure injury pre- and intraoperatively, from the perspective of the operating room nurse and anesthesia nurse. Method: Qualitative interview study with inductive approach. Individual interviews with six operating room nurses and four anesthesia nurses. Analysis of data based on content analysis. Results: The experience of the operating room nurse and anesthesia nurse in the prevention of pressure injury is presented in five main categories: Experience in nursing responsibilities in the prevention of pressure injury, Experience of cooperation in the prevention of pressure damage, Experience in risk assessment in the prevention of pressure damage, Experience in preventing identified risks of pressure injury and Experience in the impact of positioning procedures on the patient. Conclusion: The operating room nurse and anesthesia nurse has a common understanding when preventing pressure injury that nursing responsibilities are common, however it becomes divided intraoperatively. The operating room nurse and anesthesia nurse collects information about the patient and creates a risk assessment based on which they then carry out preventive measures. The positioning procedures were seen as both support and obstacles in the prevention of pressure injury. Communication was important in the collaboration between the operating room nurse and anesthesia nurse.
