Framework de gestion sémantique de flux d'actualités / Semantic-aware news feeds management framework

Dans le monde du Web, on retrouve les formats RSS et Atom (feeds) qui sont, sans doute, les formats XML les plus populaires et les plus utilisés. Ces formats permettent aux, entre autres, communautés Web, industriels, et services web de publier et d’échanger des documents XML. En outre, ils permettent à un utilisateur de consulter librement des données/informations sans avoir à basculer d’un site à un autre, et cela à l'aide d’applications logicielles. Dans ce cas, l'utilisateur enregistre ses fournisseurs de flux favoris, chaque fournisseur diffuse la liste des nouveaux éléments qui ont été modifiés depuis le dernier téléchargement. Cependant, l'enregistrement d'un certain nombre de sources de flux dans un agrégateur de flux engendre à la fois des problèmes d'hétérogénéité (à cause des différences structurelles et de contenu) et des problèmes de surcharges d’information. Par ailleurs, aucun des agrégateurs de flux existants n’offre une approche qui intègre (ou fusionne) les flux en tenant compte de leurs similarités, du contexte de l’utilisateur et de ses préférences. Dans cette thèse, nous proposons un framework formel qui permet de traiter l'hétérogénéité, l'intégration et l'interrogation des flux d’actualités. Ce framework est fondé sur une représentation arborescente d'un flux et possède trois éléments principaux qui sont les suivants: comparateur de flux, intégrateur de flux, et processeur de requêtes. Le comparateur de flux permet de mesurer le degré de similarité entre deux éléments/flux en utilisant une base de connaissance intégrant une approche ascendante et progressive. Nous proposons une mesure de similarité à base de concept capable de calculer la similarité entre les flux selon le nombre de leurs concepts communs (et différents) et leurs proximités sémantiques. Nous montrons également comment définir et identifier la relation exclusive entre deux textes ou éléments. L’intégrateur de flux permet de fusionner plusieurs flux provenant de différentes sources tout en tenant compte du contexte de l’utilisateur. Nous montrons dans notre étude comment représenter le contexte d’utilisateur ainsi que ses préférences. Nous fournissons un ensemble prédéfini de règles de fusion qui peuvent être enrichies et adaptées par chaque utilisateur. Quant au processeur de requêtes, il se base sur une étude formelle et plus précisément sur une algèbre dédiée à la fusion des flux continus d’actualités que nous proposons ici. Les opérateurs proposés dans cette algèbre sont aidés par des fonctions à base de similarité. Nous catégorisons les opérateurs de flux selon trois catégories: opérateurs d'extraction, opérateurs ensemblistes et opérateur de fusion. Nous montrons que l’opérateur de fusion généralise l’opération de jointure et les opérateurs ensemblistes. Nous fournissons également un ensemble de règles de réécriture et d'équivalence de requêtes pour la simplification et l’optimisation des requêtes. Enfin, nous présentons un prototype nommé «Easy RSS Manager» (EasyRSSManager). Ce prototype est un lecteur sémantique de flux et un composant sémantique pour l’interrogation des fenêtres de flux. EasyRSSManager a été utilisé pour valider, démontrer et tester la faisabilité des différentes propositions de notre étude. En particulier, nous avons testé la complexité en temps et la pertinence de nos approches en utilisant à la fois des données réelles et syntaxiques. / In the Web, RSS and Atom (feeds) are probably the most popular and highly utilized XML formats which allow web communities, publishing industries, web services, etc. to publish and exchange XML documents. In addition, they allow a user to consume data/information easily without roaming from site to site using software applications. Here, the user registers her favorite feed providers; and each provider sends the list of news items changed since the last download. However, registering a number of feed sources in feed aggregators cause both heterogeneity and information overloading problems. Besides, none of the existing RSS/feed aggregators provide an approach that integrates (merges) feeds from different sources considering similarity, user contexts and preferences. In this research, we provide a formal framework that handles the heterogeneity, integration and querying feeds. The framework is based a tree representation of a feed and has three main components: feed comparator, merger and query processor. The feed comparator addresses the issue of measuring the relatedness between news items using a Knowledge Base, a bottom-up and incremental approaches. We proposed a concept-based similarity measure based on the function of the number of shared and different concepts in their global semantic neighborhoods. Here, we use the concept similarity value and relationship as a building block for texts, simple elements and items relatedness algorithms. We show also how to define and identify the exclusive relationship between any two texts and elements. The feed merger addresses the issue of integrating news items from different sources considering a user context. We show here how to represent a user context and her preferences. Also, we provide a set of predefined set of merging rules that can be extended and adapted by a user. The query processor is based on a formal study on RSS query algebra that uses the notion of semantic similarity over dynamic content. The operators are supported by a set of similarity-based helper functions. We categorize the RSS operators into extraction, set membership and merge operators. The merge operator generalizes the join and the set membership operators. We also provide a set of query rewriting and equivalence rules that would be used during query simplification and optimization. Finally, we present a desktop prototype called Easy RSS Manager (EasyRSSManager) having a semanticaware RSS Reader, and semantic-aware and window-based RSS query components. It is designed to validate, demonstrate and test the practicability of the different proposals of this research. In particular, we test the timing complexity and the relevance of our approaches using both a real and syntactic dataset.

The most important part is devoted to creating an information system for detecting and monitoring changes. Provides a theoretical introduction, design and implementation of an application, that aims to detect changes based on user defined filters. So application gives users only the information, which really interested him. Results are presented in the form of RSS channels. The paper describes a complete design and implementation, including possible future expansion.

Effekte der Natriumchlorid- oder Ammoniumchloridsupplementierung auf das Harnsteinbildungspotential beim Kaninchen

Ziel der Arbeit war eine Steigerung der Wasseraufnahme und Harndilution durch Supplementierung von Natriumchlorid (NaCl) oder pH-Wert-Senkung durch Zugabe von Ammoniumchlorid (NH4Cl) zur Reduktion des Harnsteinbildungspotenzials. Durch die NaCl-Zulage wurde die Harnmenge signifikant gesteigert und das spezifische Gewicht des Harns gesenkt. Eine NaCl-Gabe stellt somit einen möglichen ergänzenden therapeutischen Ansatz für eine vermehrte Ausscheidung von Kristallen dar. Eine Ansäuerung des Harns durch Zulage von NH4Cl ließ sich nicht erreichen.

Pendant la dernière décennie nous avons vu une transformation incroyable du monde de la musique qui est passé des cassettes et disques compacts à la musique numérique en ligne. Avec l'explosion de la musique numérique, nous avons besoin de systèmes de recommandation de musique pour choisir les chansons susceptibles d’être appréciés à partir de ces énormes bases de données en ligne ou personnelles. Actuellement, la plupart des systèmes de recommandation de musique utilisent l’algorithme de filtrage collaboratif ou celui du filtrage à base de contenu. Dans ce mémoire, nous proposons un algorithme hybride et original qui combine le filtrage collaboratif avec le filtrage basé sur étiquetage, amélioré par la technique de filtrage basée sur le contexte d’utilisation afin de produire de meilleures recommandations. Notre approche suppose que les préférences de l'utilisateur changent selon le contexte d'utilisation. Par exemple, un utilisateur écoute un genre de musique en conduisant vers son travail, un autre type en voyageant avec la famille en vacances, un autre pendant une soirée romantique ou aux fêtes. De plus, si la sélection a été générée pour plus d'un utilisateur (voyage en famille, fête) le système proposera des chansons en fonction des préférences de tous ces utilisateurs. L'objectif principal de notre système est de recommander à l'utilisateur de la musique à partir de sa collection personnelle ou à partir de la collection du système, les nouveautés et les prochains concerts. Un autre objectif de notre système sera de collecter des données provenant de sources extérieures, en s'appuyant sur des techniques de crawling et sur les flux RSS pour offrir des informations reliées à la musique tels que: les nouveautés, les prochains concerts, les paroles et les artistes similaires. Nous essayerons d’unifier des ensembles de données disponibles gratuitement sur le Web tels que les habitudes d’écoute de Last.fm, la base de données de la musique de MusicBrainz et les étiquettes des MusicStrands afin d'obtenir des identificateurs uniques pour les chansons, les albums et les artistes. / In the last decade we have seen an incredible transformation of the world of music, from cassette tapes and compact discs to online digital music. With the explosion of the digital music we need music recommender systems to select those probably preferred songs from these huge online or personal databases. Currently, most music recommender systems use either collaborative (social) filtering or content-based algorithms. In this work we propose an original hybrid collaborative and tag-based algorithm improved by the context-of-use filtering technique in order to generate better playlists. Our approach assumes that user preferences change depending on the context of use. For example, a user listen one kind of music while driving to work, another type while traveling with the family on vacation, another one in a romantic evening or at parties. Additionally, if the playlist was generated for more than one user (family trip, party) the system will propose songs depending on the preferences of all these users. The main goal of our system is to recommend music to the user from the personal music collection or new music from system music collection, new releases and incoming concerts. Another goal of our system it will be to gather data from external sources based on crawling techniques and RSS Feeds to provide music related content like: new releases, incoming concerts, lyrics, similar artists. We’ll try to interlink some free available datasets on the web like listening habits from Last.fm, music database from MusicBrainz and tags from MusicStrands in order to obtain unique identifiers for songs, albums and artists.

Encontrar soluções para a problemática dos resíduos e, em virtude da crescente demanda por energia, diminuir a dependência dos combustíveis fósseis têm constituído grandes desafios para os pesquisadores. O setor hospitalar é um potencial gerador dos chamados Resíduos de Serviços de Saúde (RSS) que também apresenta um alto consumo de energia em decorrência do seu período de funcionamento e de equipamentos que necessitam de infraestrutura adequada. Apesar de representarem uma pequena parcela perante o montante dos Resíduos Sólidos Urbanos (RSU), no Brasil, nem todos os geradores se preocupam com seu tratamento e destinação final. O emprego de tecnologias desenvolvidas para o tratamento desses resíduos com a possibilidade de recuperação energética deve ser avaliado. O Hospital das Clínicas da Faculdade de Medicina de Ribeirão Preto (HC-FMRP-USP) gera cerca de 1,9 ton/dia de RSS. Nesse contexto, o objetivo geral desta pesquisa foi avaliar a viabilidade legal, ambiental e econômico-financeira da implantação de um sistema próprio de tratamento de RSS no HCFMRP- USP para geração de energia. A metodologia foi estruturada em pesquisa exploratória, coleta de dados por meio de entrevistas semi-estruturadas com responsáveis pelo setor dos RSS no hospital, com pesquisadores da área da saúde, de escolas de engenharia, órgãos técnicos e indústrias fabricantes dos equipamentos; levantamento bibliográfico e análise de conteúdo. Para a avaliação econômico-financeira, foi empregada a avaliação custoefetividade. Estudos comparativos sobre os tipos de tratamento disponíveis e utilizados nacionalmente foram considerados. Assim, o processo que melhor se adequou ao sistema proposto foi o da incineração com tecnologia de gaseificação e combustão combinadas (GCC). Os resultados demonstraram que o sistema proposto está sob a égide da lei contemplando, inclusive, a Política Nacional de Resíduos Sólidos (PNRS), desde que mediante anuência do Conselho Gestor do campus da USP e de sua Comissão de Meio Ambiente, além do devido processo de licenciamento ambiental junto à CETESB e pré-análise dos RSS. Contudo, sob o aspecto ambiental há questões públicas e políticas sobre a aceitação de sua implantação no complexo hospitalar. Embora haja o emprego de avançada tecnologia, o equipamento avaliado necessita de instalação, manutenção e monitoramento adequados por profissionais capacitados para operá-los, a fim de se evitar possíveis danos às pessoas e ao meio-ambiente, para isso, os envolvidos devem agir com responsabilidade. Por fim, sob o aspecto econômico-financeiro houve um empate técnico entre os custos do tratamento realizado atualmente e os da proposta do investimento. Assim, esse último aspecto avaliado incidiu sobre o benefício implícito da decisão de se implantar ou não o processo. Portanto, considera-se a viabilidade da implantação de um sistema próprio para tratamento de RSS no HCFMRP-USP para geração de energia sob os três aspectos: legal, ambiental e econômicofinanceiro. / Finding solutions to the waste problem and reducing dependence on fossil fuels due to the growing demand for energy have become big challenges for researchers to deal with. Hospitals are large producers of Medical waste (MW) and also big energy consumers due to their long running hours and the running of equipment that demands adequate infrastructure. Despite accounting for a small share of all the Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) not all producers, in Brazil, are concerned about waste treatment and its final destination. The use of technologies developed with the aim of treating such waste in order to generate energy has to be assessed. The Hospital das Clínicas da Faculdade de Medicina de Ribeirão Preto (HCFMRP-USP) generates around 1.9 tons of waste per day. In this context, the general aim of this research program was to assess the legal, environmental and economic-financial feasibility of the implementation of a private system of biomedical waste treatment at HCFMRP-USP in order to generate energy. The method was structured in exploratory research, data gathering by means of semi-structured interviews with MW department staff at the hospital, with Health researchers, with Engineering College researchers, technical organizations and equipment manufacturers, besides bibliographic referencing and content analysis. Cost-effectiveness analysis was used for the economic-financial analysis. Comparative studies of the types of treatment available and used nationwide were taken into consideration. Thus, the process which best suited the proposed system was that of incineration by means of Gasification Combined Cycle (GCC). Results showed that the proposed system is under the support of Law and it also takes into consideration the National Policy for Solid Waste (NPSW), provided that it has the approval of the Director Council of the Administration of the campus of USP and of its Environment Committee as well as appropriate environmental licenses granted by CETESB and pre-analysis of MW. However, under the environmental aspect, there are public and political issues regarding the acceptance of this implementation in the hospital premises. Although there is the use of advanced technology, the equipment which was assessed needs to be installed, maintained and monitored adequately by professionals trained to operate it so as to avoid possible damage to humans and the environment. Staff involved must be responsible. Finally, under the economic-financial aspect there was a draw between the costs of the treatment conducted at present and those of the proposed investment. Therefore, this last aspect assessed prevailed over the implicit benefit of the decision on whether to implement the process or not. However, the feasibility of the implementation of a private MW treatment system at HC-FMRP-USP in order to generate energy is to be considered under the legal, environmental and economicfinancial aspects.

Wickrpedia : Integrering av sociala tjänster

<p>The web has evolved much through the years. From being a place where author and reader were clearly distinguished, it now invites everyone to take part in the development of both content and technology. Social services are central in what is called Web 2.0. Wikis, blogs and folksonomies are all examples of how the users and their communities are key to the development of services. Collaborative writing, tags and API:s are central. Social services are given an extra dimension through integration. The purpose of this study was to investigate whether it was possible to integrate an encyclopedia with a photosharing service. The issue was whether it was possible to find relevant images to the article they were connected to. The method for examining the issue was to create a service which functions was investigated through user tests. Wickrpedia was created, which is an integration of Wikipedia and Flickr. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia in the shape of a wiki, while Flickr is used to store, organize and share photos. The result shows that the images added someting to the encyclopedia; it became more entertaining and pleasant and the users’ knowledge was increased. The relevance of the images was good. The service can and should be improved. The conclusion is still that the service worked well and was seen as an improvement by the users.</p> / <p>Webben har förändrats mycket de senaste åren. Från att tidigare haft en tydlig uppdelning mellan läsare och författare inbjuds nu alla att delta i utvecklingen av både innehåll och teknik. Sociala tjänster är det centrala i det som benämns Web 2.0. Wikis, bloggar och folksonomies är alla exempel på hur användarna och deras gemenskap är nyckeln till utveckling av tjänster. Kollaborativt skrivande, taggar och API:er är centrala. Sociala tjänster får en ytterligare dimension genom integrering. Denna studies syfte var att utreda hur det gick att integrera ett uppslagsverk med en fotodelningstjänst. Frågan är om det gick att göra på ett sådant sätt att bilderna hade relevans för de artiklar de kopplades till. Metoden för att utreda frågan var att skapa en tjänst vars funktion undersöktes med hjälp av användartester. Wickrpedia skapades, vilket är en intregrering av Wikipedia och Flickr. Wikipedia är en encyklopedi i form av en wiki, medan Flickr används för att förvara, organisera och dela med sig av bilder. Resultatet visar att bilderna tillförde något till uppslagsverket; det blev roligare och trevligare och användarna fick en ökad kunskap. Relevansen hos bilderna var god. Tjänsten har brister, och den går att vidareutveckla. Slutsatsen var ändå att tjänsten fungerade och var en förbättring för användarna.</p>

ROSES : Un moteur de requêtes continues pour l'agrégation de flux RSS à large échelle

Les formats RSS et Atom sont moins connus du grand public que le format HTML pour la publication d'informations sur le Web. Néanmoins les flux RSS sont présents sur tous les sites qui veulent publier des flux d'informations évolutives et dynamiques. Ainsi, les sites d'actualités publient des milliers de fils RSS/Atom, souvent organisés dans différentes thématiques (politique, économie, sports, société...). Chaque blog possède son propre flux RSS, et des sites de micro-blogage comme Twitter ou de réseaux sociaux comme Facebook publient les messages d'utilisateurs sous forme de flux RSS. Ces immenses quantités de sources de données continues sont accessibles à travers des agrégateurs de flux comme Google Reader, des lecteurs de messages comme Firefox, Thunderbird, mais également à travers des applications mash-up comme Yahoo! pipes, Netvibes ou Google News. Dans cette thèse, nous présentons ROSES -Really Open Simple and Efficient Syndication-, un modèle de données et un langage de requêtes continues pour des flux RSS/Atom. ROSES permet aux utilisateurs de créer des nouveaux flux personnalisés à partir des flux existants sur le web à travers un simple langage de requêtes déclaratif. ROSES est aussi un système capable de gérer et traiter des milliers de requêtes d'agrégation ROSES en parallèle et un défi principal traité dans cette thèse est le passage à l'échelle par rapport au nombre de requêtes. En particulier, on propose une nouvelle approche d'optimisation multi-requête fondée sur la factorisation des filtres similaires. Nous proposons deux algorithmes de factorisation: (i) STA, une adaptation d'un algorithme d'approximation pour calculer des arbres de Steiner minimaux [CCC+98], et (ii) VCA, un algorithme glouton qui améliore le coût CPU d'optimisation du précédant. Nous avons validé notre approche d'optimisation avec un important nombre de tests sur des données réelles.

Para a avaliação econômico-financeira, foi empregada a avaliação custoefetividade. Estudos comparativos sobre os tipos de tratamento disponíveis e utilizados nacionalmente foram considerados. Assim, o processo que melhor se adequou ao sistema proposto foi o da incineração com tecnologia de gaseificação e combustão combinadas (GCC). Os resultados demonstraram que o sistema proposto está sob a égide da lei contemplando, inclusive, a Política Nacional de Resíduos Sólidos (PNRS), desde que mediante anuência do Conselho Gestor do campus da USP e de sua Comissão de Meio Ambiente, além do devido processo de licenciamento ambiental junto à CETESB e pré-análise dos RSS. Contudo, sob o aspecto ambiental há questões públicas e políticas sobre a aceitação de sua implantação no complexo hospitalar. Embora haja o emprego de avançada tecnologia, o equipamento avaliado necessita de instalação, manutenção e monitoramento adequados por profissionais capacitados para operá-los, a fim de se evitar possíveis danos às pessoas e ao meio-ambiente, para isso, os envolvidos devem agir com responsabilidade. Por fim, sob o aspecto econômico-financeiro houve um empate técnico entre os custos do tratamento realizado atualmente e os da proposta do investimento. Assim, esse último aspecto avaliado incidiu sobre o benefício implícito da decisão de se implantar ou não o processo. Portanto, considera-se a viabilidade da implantação de um sistema próprio para tratamento de RSS no HCFMRP-USP para geração de energia sob os três aspectos: legal, ambiental e econômicofinanceiro. / Finding solutions to the waste problem and reducing dependence on fossil fuels due to the growing demand for energy have become big challenges for researchers to deal with. Hospitals are large producers of Medical waste (MW) and also big energy consumers due to their long running hours and the running of equipment that demands adequate infrastructure. Despite accounting for a small share of all the Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) not all producers, in Brazil, are concerned about waste treatment and its final destination. The use of technologies developed with the aim of treating such waste in order to generate energy has to be assessed. The Hospital das Clínicas da Faculdade de Medicina de Ribeirão Preto (HCFMRP-USP) generates around 1.9 tons of waste per day. In this context, the general aim of this research program was to assess the legal, environmental and economic-financial feasibility of the implementation of a private system of biomedical waste treatment at HCFMRP-USP in order to generate energy. The method was structured in exploratory research, data gathering by means of semi-structured interviews with MW department staff at the hospital, with Health researchers, with Engineering College researchers, technical organizations and equipment manufacturers, besides bibliographic referencing and content analysis. Cost-effectiveness analysis was used for the economic-financial analysis. Comparative studies of the types of treatment available and used nationwide were taken into consideration. Thus, the process which best suited the proposed system was that of incineration by means of Gasification Combined Cycle (GCC). Results showed that the proposed system is under the support of Law and it also takes into consideration the National Policy for Solid Waste (NPSW), provided that it has the approval of the Director Council of the Administration of the campus of USP and of its Environment Committee as well as appropriate environmental licenses granted by CETESB and pre-analysis of MW. However, under the environmental aspect, there are public and political issues regarding the acceptance of this implementation in the hospital premises. Although there is the use of advanced technology, the equipment which was assessed needs to be installed, maintained and monitored adequately by professionals trained to operate it so as to avoid possible damage to humans and the environment. Staff involved must be responsible. Finally, under the economic-financial aspect there was a draw between the costs of the treatment conducted at present and those of the proposed investment. Therefore, this last aspect assessed prevailed over the implicit benefit of the decision on whether to implement the process or not. However, the feasibility of the implementation of a private MW treatment system at HC-FMRP-USP in order to generate energy is to be considered under the legal, environmental and economicfinancial aspects.

This thesis focuses on solving problems related to searching of relevant data on the internet. In text is presented possible solution in form of application capable of automated extraction and aggregation of data from web and their presentation, based on input key words. For this purpouse there were studied and discribed possibilities of automated extraction from three chosen data types, mainly used as data storages on the internet. Furthermore it focuses on ways of data mining from social networks. As a result it pressents planning, implementation, realization and testing of created appliation which can easily find, display and let user easy access searched informations.
