Aiub, Giovani Forgiarini January 2018 (has links)
Based on the theoretical assumptions of Michel Pechêux’s Discourse Analysis, this thesis seeks the construction of the discursive corporeity as a notion, mainly when it analyzes the ways of saying of subjects in between the mother tongue and foreign language. In this research, the language is understood through its materiality, that is, it presupposes its organization to think the order of the language related to the history. At the same time, there is the assumption that the subject is constituted by the language and is also put under an ideological interpellation. Therefore, this is related to a subject with a double simultaneous process of identification, the one through ideology and the other one through the inscription in a linguistic materiality. In this way, this research presents how the subject in process of identification with a foreign language changes the ways of saying, causing movements in the nets of signification, established by the first language. Such process also enables to identify a changing in the subjective posture, which is a subject’s movement caused by the estrangeness based in sociocultural and historical aspects present in the other language. For the analysis, discursive sequences of subjects’ narratives in the process of identification with more than one language (maternal and foreign) are taken. The results point to the presence of socio-cultural and historical aspects in the ways of saying of the languages, as well as they show how a subjective reconfiguration occurs through the process of inscribing the subject into another linguistic materiality. Thus, it is possible to say that there is a discursive corporeality of the language because each language presents itself to the subject through specific ways of saying, and these ways of saying are constituted from certain production conditions. Consequently, the subject imprints his/her singularity by inscribing himself/herself in a language to say and this produces the existence of a discursive corporeality of the and in the subject.

Klassrummets relationsetik : Det pedagogiska mötet som etiskt fenomen

Holmgren, Anders January 2006 (has links)
The main purpose of the present study is to explore how the ethical relationship between teacher and student in the classroom can be described and understood from the approach of the French philosopher Emmanuel Lévinas. I also examine the theoretical concepts that can be derived from Lévinas’ ideas in order to be able to interpret the manner in which this ethical relationship manifests itself in the classroom. The empirical data was generated through observation of the kind often found in ethnographical studies like microanalyses using a variety of digital techniques. I also made use of direct observation and stimulated recall interviews in close connection with the classroom events. The study was carried out at two Swedish schools and the focus was placed on classroom practice and ethical communication in the classroom. Facial expressions, eye contact, gestures and other non-verbal communication was of great interest. Through microanalysis of classroom interaction I have attempted to uncover what exists under the surface of the classroom communication in more detail. According to Lévinas, ethics is understood as a relation of the infinitive responsibility to the Other person. In a pedagogical context, we may speak of the ”first meeting” face-to-face before any categorization of the other individual is formulated. The key concepts are Saying (in relation to the Said), the Other, the Face, asymmetrical relationships and alterity. In their encounter with the empirical data collected, the concepts have been freighted with edagogical significance. These original ethical thoughts of Lévinas, much of which challenge what has previously been taken for granted, can provide new insight into educational work. This investigation has provided other insights into the ethical dimension of education, especially as the teacher-student relationship is concerned. The close connection between vulnerability and interdependence in the teacher-student relationship, and communication as self-exposure, are important findings that can help teachers and pedagogues to understand the ethical dimension of the educational encounter with the student. Throughout the study, a relational ethical perspective has been developed as an alternative interpretative tool for analyzing and reflecting upon the teacher-student relationship.

K problematice frazeologismů na 2. stupni základní školy / To the Phraseology of Elementary School Pupils

HAMPERGROVÁ, Zuzana January 2013 (has links)
Topic of this diploma thesis is The Issue of Idioms at Upper Primary Schools. Phraseology is the integral part of daily communication that is why I decided to explore how pupils understand it. The theoretical part is based on publications of our leading linguists. The practical part studies not only the knowledge of idioms but also whether pupils understand it and if they are able to use them in sentences. The questionnaire consists of idioms, which have emerged as the examples in theoretical parts but also with the help of dictionaries of Czech phraseology and idioms.

O DIZER NA E SOBRE A LÍNGUA DE SUJEITOS DESCENDENTES DE IMIGRANTES ITALIANOS E A FRONTEIRA ENUNCIATIVA / THE SAYING IN AND ON LANGUAGE OF DECENDANTS OF ITALIAN IMMIGRANTS AND THE FRONTEIRA ENUNCIATIVA

Parcianello, Juciane Ferigolo 24 February 2011 (has links)
Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior / This work aims to study the functioning of discursive memory, language and fronteira enunciativa memory in statements of descendants of Italian immigrants. Such statements were retrieved from texts of interviews with five descendents who live in the city Ivorá, Fourth Colony of Italian immigration. For this research, we firstly considered a few aspects of historiographical discourse that refer to the immigration process in Brazil, with emphasis on Italian immigration, and we also pointed out the main causes and consequences of that event to the economic and cultural field of this country. Secondly, we considered the linguistic policies of the Estado Novo as well as the prohibition imposed on the languages of immigration through the nationalization of education. We analyzed some of decree-laws that were prevalent during this period in order to observe how the state interfered in the functioning of Italian language in immigrant colonies, which resulted from this interference. The third stage of this work is characterized by a theoretical review of authors who deal with issues regarding enunciation. We also examined the functioning of the fronteira linguística in enunciative sequences of descendants of Italian immigrants and how they distribute the languages they speak because they are affected by the place of enunciation. The last part of this work is devoted to analytical exercise, at which we analyzed the functioning of discursive memory, language and fronteira enunciativa memory, from a theoretical description of the Semantics of Enunciation. We observed that descendant of Italian immigrants, at predicating on (Italian and Portuguese) language(s), means, in its enunciation, a (political) conflict by the unequal distribution which makes these languages in place of saying. In certain circumstances at enunciating, this political and historical subject establishes a fronteira enunciativa, which means, by the discursive memory and by the language memory, places where it can and should say in each language (Italian and Portuguese).

Den undervisande Andre : Den undervisande relationen i Filemonbrevet urett levinasianskt perspektiv / The Teaching Other : The Teaching Relationship in the Letter toPhilemon from a Levinasian Perspective

Holmgren, Anders January 2021 (has links)
The main purpose of the present essay is, based on Emmanuel Levinas’s ethics of responsibility,to gain new knowledge about the teaching relationship and the relationship between the selfand the Other in that relation. The overarching question in this essay is what characterizes theteaching relationship in the Epistle to the Philemon from a Levinasian perspective. The purposeis also to develop theoretical tools and models from this perspective to interpret the teachingrelationship in the Epistle to the Philemon and which can also be applied to the teachingsituations in different churches. The questions to which I sought answers included: Whatconditions or prerequisites are present in the teaching relationship? What conditions createopportunities for the recipient to learn something from the Other? How does the ethicalrelationship in the language of the letter to Philemon manifest itself? What theoretical conceptsand models of practice can be developed from a Levinasian perspective for interpreting theteaching relationship that can be applied to teaching in a church context?According to Levinas, ethics is understood as a relation of the infinitive responsibility to theOther person. The underlying assumption in my thesis is that teaching is, above all else, anethical relationship. In this essay I have used a Levinasian approach about the Subject (or Ego)to come into being in its encounter with the other person. In other words, the relationship isfoundational to the existence of the Subject. The key concepts in this essay are intentionality,Saying (in relation to the Said), the Other, the Face, Levinas’s ethical subject, asymmetricalrelationship, and substitution. In their encounter with the data in the letters to Philemon, theconcepts have been freighted with educational significance. An important conclusion based on the material is that the didactic relationship is constituted asan asymmetrical relationship where the persons are related to each other in a double asymmetry. This two-way asymmetry requires a double trust in the didactic relationship, which isindispensable for all pedagogical practice, not least in church contexts. Throughout the study,a relational ethical perspective has been developed as an alternative interpretative tool foranalyzing and reflecting upon the didactic relationship.

The Language of Ethical Encounter: Levinas, Otherness, and Contemporary Poetry

Schwartz, Melissa Rachel 18 July 2017 (has links)
According to philosopher, Emmanuel Levinas, alterity can exist only in its infinite and fluid nature in which the aspects of it that exceed the human ability to fully understand it remain unthematized in language. Levinas sees the encounter between self and other as the moment that instigates ethical responsibility, a moment so vital to avoiding mastering what is external to oneself that it should replace Western philosophy’s traditional emphasis on being as philosophy’s basis, or “First Philosophy.” Levinas’s conceptualization of language as a fluid, non-mastering saying, which one must continually re-enliven against a congealing and mastering said, is at the heart of his ethical project of relating to the other of alterity with ethical responsibility, or proximity. The imaginative poetic language that some contemporary poetry enacts, resonates with Levinas’s ethical motivations and methods for responding to alterity. The following project investigates facets of this question in relation to Levinas: how do the contemporary poets Peter Blue Cloud, Jorie Graham, Joy Harjo, and Robert Hass use poetic language uniquely to engage with alterity in an ethical way, thus allowing it to retain its mystery and infinite nature? I argue that by keeping language alive in a way similar to a Levinasian saying, which avoids mastering otherness by attending to its uniqueness and imaginatively engaging with it, they enact an ethical response to alterity. As a way of unpacking these ideas, this inquiry will investigate the compelling, if unsettled, convergence in the work of Levinas and that of Blue Cloud, Graham, Harjo, and Hass by unfolding a number of Levinasian-informed close readings of major poems by these writers as foregrounding various forms of Levinasian saying. / Ph. D. / This project grounds itself on questions of what makes something that is outside of oneself unique, and of how to use language to let that entity, or being, retain its uniqueness alongside the human quest to understand the world that is always in danger of overtaking the not-I. Philosopher Emmanuel Levinas thought these questions were the critical ones for reframing basic issues of humanity. His work asserts that in order to become conscious selves and to relate to other people without dominating them, it is necessary to open up to the force of the encounter with those who are different from you, and whom you cannot fully conceive, allowing them to remain partially inconceivable. The site for relating in this ethically responsible way exists in language that constantly acknowledges that it cannot capture the object of its descriptions, as opposed to language that attempts to appropriate the other through its usual operations. A unique intersection between these ideas regarding ethics occurs when one considers contemporary poetry, which engages with similar considerations. Therefore, by reading four contemporary poets with vastly different cultural backgrounds: Peter Blue Cloud, Jorie Graham, Joy Harjo, and Robert Hass in a way that considers how they use language to relate ethically to the world beyond their material and intellectual grasp, it is possible to see how Levinas’s ideas might operate in actual language sensitive to these issues.

A relação entre o comportamento verbal e o não verbal de crianças na escolha do lanche / The relation between the verbal and non verbal behavior of children in the choice of the snack

Melo, Maria Elisa Midlej Pereira de 16 May 2007 (has links)
Made available in DSpace on 2016-04-29T13:18:03Z (GMT). No. of bitstreams: 1 Maria E M P Melo.pdf: 480720 bytes, checksum: a48a5886e07f819a87667330616281ac (MD5) Previous issue date: 2007-05-16 / Many studies have been analyzing treatments that intervene with the occurrence of correspondence between verbal and non verbal behavior. Nevertheless, the role of verbalization for the emission of the correspondent non verbal behavior, in the studies about correspondence between saying and doing, is not clear yet. The present work had the purpose to combine some treatments already used by some of the studies, with the intention to verify which would be the role of verbalization in the control of non verbal behavior, using a different target behavior than those that have been used in the most part of the studies, and introducing some modifications in the procedure and in the experimental design. The target behavior was the choice of food, considered healthful for the snack. 23 children between 5 and 6 years, with normal development, that studied in the same classroom of a Council School for children, participated of the study. The experimental conditions were: baseline, reinforcement of verbalization, reinforcement of compliance (experimenter s verbalization), reinforcement of correspondence, reinforcement of doing and reinforcement of verbalization 2. The children were divided in 3 groups, with 8, 5 and 7 participants. The sequence of presentation of the treatments varied between the groups. A of multiple baseline design between participants of the same group was used. The results pointed that during of baseline the frequency of choice of more healthful snacks is low, but the frequency of correspondence between verbal and non verbal behavior is high. During the phase of reinforcement of verbalization, the frequency of choice of more healthful snacks is low, and so is the frequency of correspondence between verbal and non verbal behavior. In the phase of reinforcement of doing, the frequency of choice of more healthful snacks is low only when this phase precedes the reinforcement of correspondence and the reinforcement of compliance. In the phases of reinforcement of compliance and reinforcement of correspondence, the frequency of choice of more healthful food increases for the three groups. In the phase of reinforcement of verbalization 2, the frequency of choice of more healthful food was higher than in the phase of reinforcement of verbalization, being, therefore, higher the correspondence frequency. The present study suggests that verbalization has an important role to provide the target response; however it can proceed from the participant as well from the experimenter / Diversos estudos vêm analisando tratamentos que interferem na ocorrência de correspondência entre o comportamento verbal e o não verbal.
