In my essay the dilemmas originate from what I have experienced. I have observed myself and some of my colleagues, how we meet children who are lacking the qualifications which school and most pedagogues expect them to have. Focus, in my written experiences, is on children who live in poverty, but how we meet and act toward them is often quite the same independent of what qualifications they are lacking. With the support from literature and theories I reflect and analyse the dilemmas. Through essaywriting I investigate my practical knowledge and I examine how we as pedagogues handle the complex situations encounter when in school and how it is possible to understand why we act the way we do. I think that the knowledge which essaywriting gives me will strengthen me as a person and in my work as a teacher for after-school-center. My essaywriting will motivate me to reflect over the norms of society and their influence on children. I have often find it difficult to know how to act, but my hope is that this new knowledge can help me to understand and handle these types of situations better in the future. We must dare to stand up for the children. Even if only one person reacts to difficult situationes, it will make a difference.

Cryptography and computer communications security : extending the human security perimeter through a web of trust

This work modifies Shamir’s algorithm by sharing a random key that is used to lock up the secret data; as against sharing the data itself. This is significant in cloud computing, especially with homomorphic encryption. Using web design, the resultant scheme practically globalises secret sharing with authentications and inherent secondary applications. The work aims at improving cybersecurity via a joint exploitation of human factors and technology; a human-centred cybersecurity design as opposed to technology-centred. The completed functional scheme is tagged CDRSAS. The literature on secret sharing schemes is reviewed together with the concepts of human factors, trust, cyberspace/cryptology and an analysis on a 3-factor security assessment process. This is followed by the relevance of passwords within the context of human factors. The main research design/implementation and system performance are analysed, together with a proposal for a new antidote against 419 fraudsters. Two twin equations were invented in the investigation process; a pair each for secret sharing and a risk-centred security assessment technique. The building blocks/software used for the CDRSAS include Shamir’s algorithm, MD5, HTML5, PHP, Java, Servlets, JSP, Javascript, MySQL, JQuery, CSS, MATLAB, MS Excel, MS Visio, and Photoshop. The codes are developed in Eclipse IDE, and the Java-based system runs on Tomcat and Apache, using XAMPP Server. Its code units have passed JUnit tests. The system compares favourably with SSSS. Defeating socio-cryptanalysis in cyberspace requires strategies that are centred on human trust, trust-related human attributes, and technology. The PhD research is completed but there is scope for future work.

Múltiplos e divisores de números naturais um estudo no quinto ano do ensino fundamental

Este trabalho é resultado de pesquisa desenvolvida no ano de 2013 em uma escola estadual de Ensino Fundamental, no Município de Itati, no Estado do Rio Grande do Sul, tendo como campo empírico a realização de dez encontros com uma turma do quinto ano do Ensino Fundamental com seis estudantes. A pesquisa abordou o estudo de múltiplos e divisores com auxílio do material didático “segredo dos números” via realização de atividades que viessem a auxiliar os alunos na construção dos conceitos de múltiplos e divisores de um número. O “segredo dos números” é um material didático criado pela professora Esther Pillar Grossi constituído por cartas nas quais os fatores primos dos números naturais são representados por símbolos. Na análise dos dados foi utilizada a Teoria dos Campos Conceituais de Gerard Vergnaud, com ênfase no campo conceitual multiplicativo. Constatou-se que os alunos evoluíram do ponto de vista da aprendizagem, nos conceitos relativos a múltiplos e divisores, desde o reconhecimento de um número primo, até as construções das maquetes de um número, que passa pela identificação de todos os divisores desse número. / This work is the result of research conducted in 2013 in a state school of Primary Education in Itati City, in the state of Rio Grande do Sul - Brazil, it has as the empirical field the realization of ten meetings with a class of fifth grade of Elementary School with six students. The research addressed the study about multiples and dividers with the help of teaching materials “secret of the numbers" through the realization of activities that were to assist students in the building of concepts of multiple and dividers of a number. The "secret of numbers" is a didactic material created by Professor Esther Pillar Grossi composed of letters in which the prime factors of natural numbers are represented by symbols. In the datas’ analysis it was used the Theory of Conceptual Fields of Gerard Vergnaud, emphasizing the multiplicative conceptual field. It was found that students progressed from the point of view of learning in the concepts related to multiple and dividers, from the recognition of a prime number, to the construction of models of a number, which includes the identification of all divisors of that number.

Le secret partagé est une exception légale au secret professionnel, permettant à ceux qui prennent en charge le patient d'échanger des informations le concernant, sans être sanctionnés du fait de cette révélation d'informations protégées. Si les soignants depuis toujours communiquent au sujet du patient dans son intérêt, il n'y en a pas moins un équilibre à trouver entre l'échange d'informations nécessaire à la pratique médicale, et le respect de la vie privée qu'un partage trop large peu compromettre. Or, l'émergence de l'outil informatique, multipliant les possibilités de partage de données de santé, remet en cause un équilibre fondé sur des mécanismes traditionnels de protection de l'intimité de la personne. Le traitement de données de santé partagées doit alors s'analyser au regard des règles du secret partagé, des règles de la législation "Informatique et Libertés", mais également au jour d'un foisonnement vertigineux de normes relatives à la mise en oeuvre de dossiers spécifiques comme le Dossier médical personnel, le Dossier pharmaceutique ou l'Historique des remboursements. La mise en relief systématique de la place du consentement de la personne concernée conduit au constat de l'impérative inscription à la Constitution du droit de la personne à la protection de ses données de santé partagées. / The medical professional secret is a legal exception to the professional secret; it allows a patient's caregivers to exchange health information that is relevant to that patient's care without being punished for revealing confidential information. That caregivers discuss patient's health information with other medical professional involved in that patient's care is to the benefit of the patient. Nonetheless, there is a fine balance to be struck between a "need to know" professional exchange of information, which is essential to care of the patient, and a broad exchange of information, which may ultimately comprise the confidentiality of the patient's private life. The emergence of an electronic tool, which multiplies the potential possibilities for data exchange, further disrupts this balance. Consequently, the manipulation of this shared health information must be subject to the medical professional secret, the "Informatique et Libertés" legislation, and all of the numerous norms and standards as defined by the French national electronic medical record (DMP), the pharmaceutical medical record (Dossier pharmaceutique), or the reimbursement repository (Historique des remboursements). As the patient's health information is increasingly shared between health care providers - through means such as the DMP or DP - the patient's right and ability to control the access to his/her health information have to become more and more important. A study regarding the importance of obtaining the patient's consent lead to the following proposal: to inscribe in the French Constitution the patient's right to confidentiality regarding health information.

My field has its base on Sao Carlos’s city, located in the central area of the state, and focus on the use of seeking applications for loving and sexual men partners between 18 and 60 ages. Considering Queer Theory, Brazilian studies of sexuality and other searches about digital medias, I take as hypothesis that the dynamic of secret that involves the homoerotic relations in this area has the objective to preserve the security in spaces such as family and work. Associating the ethnography work to the interviews, quantitative data and sources about use of digital medias, I look for understanding how the secret is connected to the interurban mobility, geographic location, life’s style, education, income and profession. Taking into consideration the social and technical context of medias reception, I analyze which displacements and repertory’s rearrangements to qualify the desire have been possible by means of the conventions and codes flow digitally mediated. / Esta dissertação deseja compreender o uso estratégico que homens do interior de São Paulo fazem das mídias digitais móveis visando criar relações com outros homens em segredo. Meu campo toma como base a cidade de São Carlos, localizada na região central do Estado, e foca no uso de aplicativos de busca para parceiros amorosos e sexuais por homens com idade entre 18 e 60 anos. Em diálogo com a Teoria Queer, os estudos brasileiros sobre sexualidade e outras pesquisas sobre mídias digitais, parto da hipótese de que a dinâmica do segredo que envolve as relações homoeróticas nessa região tem como objetivo manter a segurança nos espaços da família e do trabalho. Associando o trabalho etnográfico às entrevistas, aos dados quantitativos e às fontes sobre o uso das mídias digitais, procuro compreender como o segredo se liga ao acesso à mobilidade interurbana, à localização geográfica, ao estilo de vida, à educação, à renda, à profissão. Considerando o contexto sociotécnico de recepção das mídias, analiso quais deslocamentos e rearranjos no repertório para qualificar o desejo foram possíveis mediante o fluxo de convenções e códigos digitalmente mediados.

Trying to find the secret kept by the young people involved, our aim was to identify, describe, and analyze its organizational structure, its functioning, its relations, its rules and characteristics. In order to do so, we intercrossed three theoretical and methodological fields: Ethnography; Oral History, and Social Theory of Discourse (FAIRCLOUGH, 2001). The analytical corpus was built upon two verbs: to observe and to listen participative observation and life histories. We observed individuals. We listened to five of them three boys and two girls. We also observed texts and real and virtual contexts. Regarding their discourse about the secret‟ society, we observed linguistic extracts (written and oral texts from taggers and others from graffiti artists, and five narratives of their life histories), so that we could develop the analytical process. We sometimes inquired into texts available on online social networks such as Orkut, written by taggers and graffiti artists, as well as other linguistic events available on group or crew blogs and notes taken on field diary. Within the hierarchically divided and structurally organized space, in which the group plays the main role, individuals live symbolic and material experiences of sociability. They organize themselves, exercise control, set rules, lead, and fund a closed society, whose existence lies on the secrecy. From this society, they play, dispute, protest, negotiate, and claim the inclusion of their cultural practices in the urban contemporary cultural scene. The concept of experience (THOMPSON, 1981) was fundamental to our analysis. The results suggest that the taggers and graffiti artists see the secret‟ society as an identity locus which allows them to have a paradoxical anonymous visibility, once they do not have social projection in peripheries. / Esta tese resultou de uma investigação sobre a sociedade secreta de pichadores/as e grafiteiros/as, em Campina Grande PB. Em busca do segredo guardado por esses/as jovens, estabelecemos, como objetivo, identificar, descrever e analisar a estrutura organizacional, o funcionamento, as relações, as regras e as características dessa sociedade. Para tanto, entrecruzamos três fios teórico-metodológicos: Etnografia, História Oral e Teoria Social do Discurso (FAIRCLOUGH, 2001). Construímos o corpus analítico com dois verbos: OBSERVAR e OUVIR observação participante e histórias de vida. Observamos sujeitos. Ouvimos cinco deles três meninos e duas meninas. Observamos também textos e contextos reais e virtuais. Observamos ainda imagens. No que diz respeito ao discurso produzido por eles/as sobre essa sociedade secreta , utilizamos o procedimento metodológico da observação de excertos linguísticos desse discurso (escrito e oral, respectivamente, alguns textos da pichação e do grafite, e cinco narrativas das histórias de vida), para, a partir deles, desenvolvermos o processo analítico. Recorremos, ainda, algumas vezes, a textos presentes nas páginas do site de relacionamento ORKUT, de pichadores/as e grafiteiros/as, como também a outros eventos linguísticos constantes nas páginas de comunidades e blogs de grupos ou crews, além das anotações no diário de campo. O conceito de experiência (THOMPSON, 1981) foi fundamental às nossas análises. Os resultados sugerem que a sociedade secreta é representada, por esses/as jovens, como um locus identitário que lhes permite, paradoxalmente, uma visibilidade anônima, já que, na periferia, eles não conseguem projeção. Nesse espaço estruturalmente organizado, hierarquicamente dividido, em que o coletivo assume o papel principal, vivenciam experiências simbólicas e materiais de sociabilidade, organizam-se, exercem um controle, estabelecem regras, comandam, fundam uma sociedade fechada, para cuja existência o segredo é uma ferramenta indispensável. Assim, a partir dela, brincam, disputam, protestam, agenciam, mas também reivindicam a inclusão de suas práticas culturais na cena da cultura urbana contemporânea.

Unfair competition and the safeguard of trade secrets / Competencia desleal y resguardo de los secretos empresariales

The Law of Supression of Unfair Competition, approved by Legislative Decree 1044, tries to avoid confusions about what is protected as a trade secret and what cases of misappropriation should be sanctioned.In this article, the author questions the interpretation and application that has beenconsistently employed, in many cases, to some of the terms contained in the aforementioned law.For that purpose, the author explains the meaning of the trade secret and other related terms, such as prohibited competition and concurrent purposes. He then proceeds to elaborate an analysis about the economic function of protecting trade secrets and what should be the correct application of the Law of Supression of Unfair Competition. / La Ley de Represión de la Competencia Desleal, aprobada por el Decreto Legislativo 1044, trata de evitar confusiones acerca de qué se protege comosecreto empresarial y qué supuestos de apropiación indebida deberían sancionarse.En el presente artículo, el autor cuestiona la interpretación y aplicación que se le ha venido dando, en muchos casos, a algunos de los términos contenidos en dicha ley. Para ello, explica el significado del secreto empresarial, y de otros términosrelacionados como la competencia prohibida y la finalidad concurrencial. Luego, pasa a elaborar un análisis sobre la función económica de proteger los secretos empresariales y de cuál debería ser la correcta aplicación de la Ley de Represión de la Competencia Desleal.
