An investigation of different phases of pentecostal experience in the Apostolic Faith Mission (AFM)Hwata, Benny 30 November 2005 (has links)
This dissertation is an analysis of differing Pentecostal experiences in Apostolic Faith Mission from its inception, with specific reference to the AFM of South Africa and AFM in Zimbabwe. The study examines:
The brief history of the AFM. This begins with the Azusa Street Revival in Los Angels. Pentecostalism then spread to South Africa through John G. Lake with the founding of AFM of South Africa. AFM filtered into Zimbabwe where it faced stiff resistance from government authorities and established mainline churches.
Theologies and spiritual gifts which make Pentecostalism different from other faiths.
Main doctrines and tenets of faith discernible from the brief historical outline.
A general outline of phases in Pentecostalism. An attempt will be made to determine whether these phases are applicable to AFM. This dissertation is a contribution towards reconciling diverging views concerning Pentecostalism in the AFM because various congregations of the same denomination behave and believe differently. / Systematic Theology & Theological Ethics / M.Th. Movement in gestalt therapeutic intervention for adolescents with disruptive behavioural tendenciesHorn, Annamarie 30 November 2004 (has links)
Movement in Gestalt therapeutic intervention, using structured activities and free improvisations, is a successful alternative to punishing adolescents with disruptive behavioural tendencies in the classroom. An overview of the existing literature regarding the therapeutic value of movement in Gestalt therapeutic intervention for adolescents with disruptive behavioural tendencies is firstly presented. Various techniques supporting the adolescent in his quest to achieve equilibrium, ultimately improving his relationships with others and his environment, are described. A case study, involving eight adolescents with disruptive behavioural tendencies in group therapy follows, which indicates that movement in Gestalt therapy is an alternative to punishment. In the light hereof it is suggested that movement in Gestalt therapy could be implemented successfully in the formal school environment. This form of intervention can contribute to the adolescent's growth, his ability to communicate and his relationships with self, others and the environment, culminating in improved behavioural tendencies. / Social Work / M. The role of indigenous healers in disease prevention and health promotion among Black South Africans : a case study of the North West ProvinceShai-Mahoko, Sophie Nkinki 06 1900 (has links)
The majority of black South Africans utilize the services of indigenous healers and the new
National
Health Plan for South Africa makes provision for cooperation between the healers and formal health
practitioners.
The purpose of this study was to determine the role played by indigenous African healers in the
prevention of diseases and the promotion of health, and to design a model which will provide
guidelines for cooperation between indigenous healers and formal health workers.
This study was ethno-medical, contextual, exploratory and qualitative. It was designed to look
into the health care of a specific cultural group to explore in depth the experiences of indigenous
healers in providing health care within their cultural context.
Data was collected by individual free-type interviews from indigenous African healers, users of
formal health services and by observation.
It was found that there is dual utilization of both formal and indigenous health service systems by
clients. A specific culbrral terminology relating to health was found to be used. Such terminology
could result in communication gaps and breakdowns if not known to or used by formal health workers.
The findings show that cultural beliefs are still strongly adhered to. These were found to
influence
the life-styles and health maintenance behaviour of a cultural group. The fmdings show that
divination
fonns the core of health assessment and health-problem diagnosis. It was found that no health
problem could be attended to without first going through a divination session.
The findings also show involvement of indigenous healers in primary health care workers at first
contact levels of prevention in the field of paediatric preventive care. Diarrhoea and vomiting in
children was found to be the preventable disease in which healers specialize. Infertility and
impotence were found to be conditions taken to healers for treatment. Other sexually transmitted
diseases as well as culture-bound syndromes treated by indigenous healers were found in this study.
The use of rituals and rites of passage and the involvement of ancestors were found to form part
ofholistic health care.
The fmdings show the willingness of healers to collaborate with formal health workers. A model is
designed to guide the process of collaboration. / Health Studies / D. Lit. et Phil. (Advanced Nursing Sciences)

'n Filosofies-andragogiese benadering tot dialektiese strategiese onderwysbestuur : 'n verwysing na die satellietkampus van die Vaaldriehoekse Technikon in Kempton ParkGeldenhuys, Michiël Daniël 06 1900 (has links)
Hoër Onderwys in Suid-Afrika is in 'n proses van transformasie. Hierdie transformasie is
onder meer as gevolg van internasionale wereldtendense en die historiese agterstande van
onderwys in Suid-Afrika.
In hierdie studie is ondersoek gedoen na strategiese bestuur as dialektiese strategiese
Higher Education in South Africa is in a process of transfonnation. This transfonnation is,
amongst others, due to the international global tendencies and the historic backlog of
education in South Africa It is therefore imperative that institutions, such as the East Rand
Campus of the Vaal Triangle Technikon, should incorporate strategic planning in its
managerial activities. This study has strategic management as a central theme with
components in the Philosophical Anthropology and in Business Management.
In this study strategic management has been investigated as dialectic strategic management
with characteristics of a bi-polar, dualistic and contention nature. It is from this departure
that dialectic strategic management can be funded in the categories of being human, namely
openness to being, dialogue, futurity, pathic-dynamic relatedness, imagination, self
consciousness, values and freedom and decision making. It can thus be stated that dialectic
strategic management is a human activity funded in the Philosophical Anthropology and in
the Axiology.
An investigation has also been done pertaining factors which can influence and/or determine
the future strategic position of the East Rand Campus of the Vaal Triangle Technikon.
International and national educational factors have been investigated and a non-empirical
survey was made among stafl: students and employers as to obtain infonnation that can be
used in strategic management. The conclusion of the study is presented in the form of
strategic intents and a probable management plan that can be used as a point of departure in
a strategic management plan for the East Rand Campus of the Vaal Triangle Technikon. / Educational Studies / D. Ed. (Filosofie van die Opvoeding)

Tarptautinė prekyba paslaugomis: tendencijos ir problemos / International trade in services: tendencies and problemsJankauskaitė, Rasa 28 December 2006 (has links)
The sphere of services started to develop very actively in the last century. Nowadays this sector of economics gained the dominant positions: currently those services compound more than two thirties of the World’s Gross National Product (GNP). Approximately seventy percent of the GNP is obtained in sector of the services. Moreover, this sector is growing much faster (16 percent per year) than trade in services (7 percent per year only). Currently more than seventy percent of the employees are working in the sector of the services, and this part practically contains all the development of employment. According to the data of the Statistic Department of Lithuania and the Bank of Lithuania, during period 2000 – 2006 the services became the key in economical sector in the structure of the Lithuanian economy, and it compounds the biggest part of surplus. Despite this fast development of the sector of the services, many problems that limit this market are rising up, for example, obstructions for Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (SME), the problems with innovations, the efficiency of the employment, the obstacles that influence the establishment of the enterprises. It is necessary to make the comprehensive analysis of the sector of the services in order to solve those problems.
The conception of the service, groups of the services traded in the international market and their accounting, the development of the services of the international market and its changes, the factors that... [to full text]

The human nature of Christ, fallen or unfallen?: a comparative analysis of the Christologies of Pannenberg and Hatdzidakis with reference to the Seventh-day Adventist Church debateChuumpu, Keith January 2020 (has links)
Bibliography: leaves 118-124 / Did Christ, in the incarnation, take a fallen or unfallen human nature? This question, in
its various forms, has occupied the Christian Church for as long as it has existed. For
the Seventh-day Adventist church, to which tradition I belong, the question centres on
whether Christ as a human being had sinful tendencies or not. This question has
divided the church into two main camps, with one camp saying he did, and the other
saying he did not. And the debate goes on. It is from the Seventh-day Adventist church
tradition that I picked up on this debate, following it up to mainstream Christianity
and motivating this research. My research seeks to identify the causes of the debate.
Its premise is that unless the specific causes of the debate are clearly identified and
appropriately addressed, it is difficult, if not impossible, to conclude it. For a close
analysis, two scholars, each representing one side, are picked and examined:
Pannenberg, representing the fallen nature position, and Hatzidakis, representing the
unfallen nature position. Their respective arguments are gleaned, compared and
analysed; and their differences, causes and possible solutions are pointed out. The
findings are then applied to the Seventh-day Adventist church debate and to
Christianity at large. / Philosophy, Practical and Systematic Theology / M. Th. (Systematic Theology)
