O espaço \"concebido\" e o espaço \"vivido\" da morada rural: políticas públicas x modo de vida camponês / The conceived and lived space of the rural housing: public politics x peasant´s way of life

Andréa Figueiredo Arruda 01 June 2007 (has links)
The aim of this paper is at first, to understand and to register two fundamental issues. The first is the territorialization of the peasantry in Brazil as it happened through history, and the public policies which defined and define the design of the rural space. The second report is a brief survey of the housing demands and production in the country. The research is also based on a concrete experience of the construction of popular houses, in a kind of self management and getting together to build each others house in the settlement Fazenda Pirituba, Itapeva, São Paulo. The observation of the peasants way of life during the implantation of the Rural Housing Subsidy Program (PSH-Rural), appears as one of the ways to understand the several adjustments and disagreements of this method. Since it is a more than 20 years old settlement, the Fazenda Pirituba consolidates as a territory worthy of peasant manifestation that is identified from the way these families organize their daily activities redefining and reinventing the design of the settlement given by the state to the mediation with technicians for the organization of the place. Through the observation of the peasants way of life, their relation with the work, the time, the land, the family and neighbors and also how these relations happen, such as the house- backyard and its surroundings, the small farm; it is possible to visualize the formulation of public policies that are appropriate to their modus vivendi.

This thesis, developed under the Post Professional Graduate Program in Management and Public Education Evaluation Center for Public Policy and Evaluation eEducation the Federal University of Juiz de Fora, deals with the case management refers to the practice of Interaction Bidirectional in High School Project Classroom with Technology Mediation in the municipality of Tonantins - AM. The research brings the following guiding question: Why is the interaction between Professor Lecturer and students, at the time the lessons are transmitted is not the case as provided by the Pedagogical the PEMPMT, ie dialogical way in which they meet demands of each student? In order to examine this question, the research undertaken was based on a qualitative basis methodology, with the use of document analysis and questionnaires as data building instruments. The documentary analysis was carried out in didactic Guidelines and Bingo Tickets of classes. Since the questionnaire was offered to the students of two classes of 3rd series of the East PEMPMT Education, State School in San Francisco; two classroom teachers and ministering to twenty-four teachers of the aforementioned classes. This research had as theoretical reflections of authors such as Arantes (2010), Belloni (2012), Costa (2015), Dias (2010), Freire (1987), Levy (2001), Malhotra (2012), Moore ( 2013), Moran (2007), Peña (2012), Peters (2001), Cousin (2011), Valente (2003), Vygotsky (1991) and Zuin (2010). The results pointed to two main issues: i) the need to improve the use of interactive tools so that, there is an effective interaction between the participants in the educational process; III) the need for specific training to act as teacher of this type of education. From these findings, as a proposition that can empower the educational actors PEMPMT order to have an effective dialogue, seeking to develop the actions of construction of knowledge, mediated by ICT and quality in education are set out below: I) Recast Proposal pedagogic PEMPMT, so you can use the tools of two-way interactivity as the forum and the wiki, using 20% of asynchronous classes of the course; II) Development of a specific training course about the techniques and procedures that facilitate the mediation of knowledge to the classroom teacher Tonantins - AM. Thus, both the reorganization of the structure of the course as the qualitative use of interactive tools and specific training to work in this educational model, are key to improving the two-way interactivity of Mediated Education Project for Technology in Tonantins and therefore in Amazons.

Poisoning of automotive exhaust gas catalyst components:the role of phosphorus in the poisoning phenomena

Kröger, V. (Virpi) 31 October 2007 (has links)
Abstract The aim of this thesis project was to gain new knowledge on the effect of phosphorus on the catalytic activity and characteristics of automotive exhaust gas catalyst components. The simultaneous roles of phosphorus and calcium were also studied. The first test series of powdery catalyst samples contained Rh and oxide (Test series 1) and the second, Pt and oxide or ZSM-5 (Test series 2). The catalysts were analyzed when fresh and after two ageing and phosphorus poisoning procedures developed in this work. The procedures consisted of adding poison via impregnation in an aqueous solution (for Test series 1) and in the gaseous phase under hydrothermal conditions (for Test series 2). The poison compounds formed and the changes in the washcoat were studied by using physisorption analyses, SEM, TEM, XRD, and FTIR-ATR. The poison content of the samples was determined by ICP-OES and XRF. Laboratory-scale activity measurements were done to investigate the catalytic activity. Thermodynamic calculations were used to obtain information about ageing conditions and phosphorus compounds formed during ageing. Phosphorus decreased the catalytic activity and the characteristic surface areas of the catalysts. Addition of calcium to a phosphorus-poisoned catalyst was found to have even a regenerating effect on the catalysts' activity. The poisoning methods developed in this study resulted in the same phosphorus compounds as can be found in vehicle-aged catalysts. Phosphorus was identified as cerium, zirconium, aluminium, and titanium phosphates. Phosphorus was detected in zeolites, but phosphorus-containing compounds were not observed. Phosphorus poisoning takes place in the gas phase at high operating temperatures and with high oxygen and water contents. It was also shown that the role of phosphorus poisoning was more pronounced than the role of hydrothermal ageing alone. Phosphorus poisoning mainly affects the oxide components used in this study, not the noble metals. The results can be utilized in the development of catalytic materials and catalyst compositions that can better tolerate phosphorus poisoning under hydrothermal conditions. The results can also be applied in evaluating the effects of phosphorus on different catalyst compositions and in estimating the age of commercial catalysts.

Customer engagement : A study of consumers interaction with fashion brands on social media

Bylund, Isabelle, Lindgren, Susanne January 2017 (has links)
Social media is widely expanded worldwide with increasing number of users in social networks. Social media allows the consumers to connect directly with companies, which has led to a shift from traditional one-way communication to a two-way communication between both consumer to company and consumer to consumer. A successful two-way communication on social media engages both the consumers and the company. The rise of social media has quickly changed the marketing approach, as it creates new opportunities for the consumer to connect and communicate in a greater rich. In a two-way communication, the communication needs to create engagement from the consumers even though the consumer may not want to engage, contributing to a challenge for companies to communicate to customers in order for them to engage. It could be argued that companies should in some way get their customers to be more engaged even though the engagement can generate several outcomes in this complex communication approach. Furthermore, customer engagement could have an impact on the purchase intention for the consumer. Therefore, the aim of this thesis is to investigate motives that create customer engagement with fashion brands on social media and the relation between customer engagement motives and purchase intention with a fashion brand. According to previous research, personal interest, entertainment, rewards and information acquisition and sharing are the most encouraging motives for customer engagement. Due to that fact, these motives were in focus in the study and the motives were also put in relation to their effect on purchase intention. The research was conducted by a quantitative study through a survey, in order to gather an overviewing perspective in customer engagement on social media towards fashion brands. The sample size reached a valid number of 109 respondents. The findings of this thesis give the impression that overall customer engagement is still low even for the investigated motives. This indicates that the respondents do not usually take part of the two-way dialog. The reliability seems to lie with other consumers rather than fashion brands on social media when searching for information. In addition, information acquisition was ranked as the most encouraging motive while personal interest is the motive that most encourage to purchase intention.

Evaluation of TCP Performance in 3G Mobile Networks

Jogi, Mutyalu, Vundavalli, Madhu January 2011 (has links)
With the increase in mobile broadband services the operators are gaining profits by providing high speed Internet access over the mobile network. On the other side they are also facing challenges to give QoS guarantee to the customers. In this thesis we investigate the impact of data rate and payload size on One Way Delay (OWD) and packet loss over TCP performance in 3G networks. Our goal is to evaluate the OWD and packet loss characteristics with respect to payload size and data rate from the collected network level traces. To collect these traces an experimental testbed is setup with Endace Data Acquisition and Generation (DAG) cards, for accurate measurements Endace DAG cards together with Global Positioning System (GPS) synchronization is implemented. The experiments are conducted for three different Swedish mobile operator networks and further the statistics of OWD measurements and packet loss for different data rates and payload sizes are evaluated. Our results indicate that the minimal OWD occurred at higher data rates and also shows a high delay variability. The packet loss has much impact on higher data rates and larger payload sizes, as the packet loss increases with the increase in data rate and payload size.

Migration radiale dans les disques galactiques et applications à la Voie Lactée / Radial migration in galactic disks and applications to the Milky Way

Kubryk, Maxime 09 September 2014 (has links)
We study the radial migration of stars, and test its impact on the chemical evolution of the Milky Way. For this we use a simulation-body + SPH (Gadget-3) strongly barred galaxy to study the radial migration induced by the bar. We examine a new mechanism of radial migration: a fraction of stars trapped at corotation with the bar, move with the corotation radius when it goes outwards (when the rotational speed of the bar decreases, because of its secular evolution). We show that this mechanism affects mainly the outer regions of the disc, provided that the corotation reaches these regions. We also show that the mechanism has no effects in the Milky Way, as the observational estimates of the characteristics of the bar indicates that the corotation is not in the outer regions. We also analyze the radial migration in this simulation to construct an empirical model of diffusion in the stellar disk, and we include this model in a semi-analytic code of chemical evolution of galaxy. We test the validity of this approach by ensuring that the galaxies simulated with N-body + SPH and semi-analytic have similar morphological and chemical properties. We then apply our model to the Milky Way, by adapting the model parameters. Then, we compare the results obtained with a large number of observations on the solar neighborhood (age-metallicity relation, metallicity distribution, relationship O/Fe vs. Fe/H and bimodality thin disk - thick disk), and radial gradients of abundances.

Tests of additivity in mixed and fixed effect two-way ANOVA models with single sub-class numbers

Rasch, Dieter, Rusch, Thomas, Simeckova, Marie, Kubinger, Klaus D., Moder, Karl, Simecek, Petr January 2009 (has links) (PDF)
In variety testing as well as in psychological assessment, the situation occurs that in a two-way ANOVA-type model with only one replication per cell, analysis is done under the assumption of no interaction between the two factors. Tests for this situation are known only for fixed factors and normally distributed outcomes. In the following we will present five additivity tests and apply them to fixed and mixed models and to quantitative as well as to Bernoulli distributed data. We consider their performance via simulation studies with respect to the type-I-risk and power. Furthermore, two new approaches will be presented, one being a modification of Tukey's test and the other being a new experimental design to test for interactions.

How to ensure quality between buyer-supplier : A case study at Volvo cars Torslanda

Wienefors, David, Palmér, Victor January 2016 (has links)
In today’s market it is possible to get a competitive advantage with right quality- and safety work to satisfy the customers in the automotive- and manufacturing industry. Today companies are also highly exposed with today’s media and social media which make the quality assurance even more important to avoid bad publicity. This report consists of an investigation about how the automotive- and manufacturing industry work with their suppliers’ to mutually achieve the required quality targets. Toyota Motor Corporation has single handily been a trademark for high quality for a long time in the automotive industry. Their successful organization is based on different principles which have created The Toyota Way. Thus the authors’ of this report has chosen to select some of these principles, which are thought to be appropriate for the reports purpose. The principles are investigated and described so that they can be compared to the case study at Volvo Cars Torslanda. The purpose is to find potential improvement possibilities and recommendations for both Volvo Cars and for the manufacturing industry. The findings and analysis has shown that a more cross-functional way of working in teams between different departments should be used in a greater extension. Thus to achieve greater knowledge in the decision making process concerning the organization and to improve the quality assurance work concerning the suppliers’. Another recommendation is to greater encourage job rotations among the quality engineers concerning the different quality reviews. The authors’ are sure that greater job rotation can encourage better motivation at work and support to become an even more learning organization in addition to achieve the greater quality assurance. With these findings and recommendations the authors’ believe and suggests that further research can be done with a deeper approach towards the specific recommendations to find further improvement possibilities concerning the automotive- and manufacturing industry.

Investigating Transparency in Government of Canada Citizen-focused Communications

Ghergari, Kori January 2012 (has links)
Government of Canada communications professionals work in an increasingly challenging environment, characterized by an intrusive 24/7 media cycle, a frenetic pace of evolving communication technologies, layered accountability requirements, political tension, and waning public trust. Scholars call on professional communicators to help rebuild public trust, which is intrinsic to a healthy democratic government. The Three-dimensional Model for Transparency in Government Communication developed by Fairbanks, Plowman and Rawlins (2007) serves as the theoretical framework for investigating the Government of Canada’s approach to transparent citizen-focused communications from the perspective of communications professionals. The model’s adaptability to the Government of Canada context is tested through 23 qualitative semi-structured interviews with Government of Canada senior communications advisors, managers and executives. The data is analysed using constant comparative thematic analysis. The findings demonstrate that Government of Canada communicators strongly value transparency. Furthermore, the key components of the transparency model – communications practices, organizational support and provision of resources – encapsulate the factors that influence the practice of transparent citizen-focused communications by the Government of Canada. The study concludes by offering recommendations for future research and practical applications.
