As the gig economy is growing at a rapid pace and digitalization has spread throughout the management consulting industry, a notable disruption of this traditional industry has occurred. Digitalization in the management consulting industry has affected both how the management consultant does his/her job as well as how the connection between consultant and client and the relationship between colleagues constitutes. Digitalization also facilitates remote working, which has after the Covid-19 pandemic become a high priority. This in turn has enabled the growth of the gig economy and the increasing number of gig worker. Digital gig platforms acting as a meetingplace have increased in both numbers and popularity as well as digital service platforms providing digital tools with the help of SaaS or AI to deliver a more complex solution to the customer. The disruption of the management consulting industry has only begun and therefor it is a need to analyze the way this industry works today and discuss how the industry has adapted to digitalization. Therefor the purpose of this master thesis is to increase the knowledge of how the progress of digital business models affect the management consulting industry by answering the two research questions: “How has the management consulting industry within the area of organizational development been disrupted by the increasing amount of independent workers using gig platforms?” and “How has digitized Service platforms in the area of organizational development changed the traditional management consulting business model?”. This master thesis is conducted through a literature review and semi structured interviews. What can be concluded is that the management consulting industry has been disrupted by the digital platforms in a way that has put pressure on the larger traditional management consulting companies, more digital platforms are created and an increasing number of gig workers have resulted in collaborations between freelancers and traditional management consulting companies. It is also seen that traditional management consulting companies are adopting other business model alternatives that includes solutions based on AI or cloud solutions. / I och med att gigekonomin växer i en snabb takt och digitaliseringen har spridit sig genom hela managementkonsultindustrin har en tydlig påverkan skett på denna traditionella industri. Digitaliseringen i managementkonsultindustrin har påverkat både hur managementkonsulter utför sitt jobb och kopplingen mellan konsulten och klienten samt vad relationen mellan kollegor har för funktion. Digitalisering gynnar även distansarbete, som efter Covid-19 pandemin har fått en allt högre prioritet på arbetsplatser. Detta har i sin tur medfört en växande gigekonomi med ett ökat antal gigarbetare. Digitala gigplattformar som fungerar som mötesplatser har ökat både i antal och popularitet, likaså digitala serviceplattformar som tillhandahåller digitala verktyg som till exempel SaaS- och AI-lösningar för att kunna tillhandahålla en mer komplex lösning till kunden. Den påverkan som gigekonomi har haft på managementkonsultindustrin är i början av utvecklingen, vilket skapar ett behov av att industrin och hur denna fungerar idag analyseras, samt diskutera hur industrin har anpassat sig till digitaliseringen. Därför är syftet med detta examensarbete att öka kunskapen kring hur utvecklingen av digitala affärsmodeller påverkat managementkonsultindustrin genom att svara på de två forskningsfrågorna: ”Hur har managementkonsultindustrin inom området organisationsutveckling blivit förändrad av det ökade antalet gigarbetare som använder sig av digitala plattformar” och ”Hur har digitala serviceplattformar inom området organisationsutveckling ändrat de traditionella managementkonsulternas affärsmodeller”. Detta examensarbete utfördes med hjälp av en litteraturstudie samt genom semistrukturerade intervjuer. Slutsatsen som kan dras från detta examensarbete är att managementkonsultindustrin har blivit påverkad av digitala plattformar och därmed har satt press på de större traditionella managementkonsultföretagen, fler digitala plattformar skapas och ett ökat antal av gigarbetare har resulterat i en ökning av samarbeten mellan frilansare och traditionella konsultföretag. Resultatet visar vidare att fler traditionella managementkonsultföretag anpassar sig till andra affärsmodellsalternativ som innefattar lösningar baserade på AI eller molntjänster.

Die Thematik der Strategieberatung in kleinen und mittleren Unternehmen (KMU) hat in der Managementforschung bisher wenig Beachtung gefunden und dies obwohl jenem Forschungsfeld hohe Relevanz attestiert wird. Die vorliegende Arbeit adressiert genau dieses Forschungsdesiderat. Im Rahmen einer explorativen, qualitativ-empirischen Studie wird beleuchtet, inwieweit KMU-Geschäftsführer (KMU-GF) Unternehmensberatung zur strategischen Unternehmensführung in Anspruch nehmen, ob diesbezüglich unterschiedliche Typen existieren und wodurch sich die entsprechenden Verhaltensweisen der KMU-GF begründen. Für die Analyse, weshalb KMU-GF Strategieberatung nutzen bzw. nicht nutzen, wird eine sozio-kognitive Perspektive eingenommen, die kognitive Strukturen sowie kognitive Prozesse als Auslöser von Verhalten untersucht und dabei auch die Rolle von Kontextfaktoren berücksichtigt. Ergänzend werden Einblicke in die Denk- und Verhaltensweisen von KMU-GF hinsichtlich der Themen Unternehmensberatung allgemein und strategische Unternehmensführung geboten.

本研究主旨有三:(一)整理現有股市財經節目的營運方式、節目內容並瞭解財經節目主持人及其口語傳播技巧。(二)從股市財經節目觀眾收視行為來觀察,以節目收視率及收視觀眾輪廓(audience profile)為基礎,觀察股市財經觀眾其日常生活中收看股市財經節目的相關行為。(三)結合對財經節目與觀眾收視行為的觀察與研究,找出股市財經節目的關鍵要素並提出建議。
本研究以文本分析、深度訪談、二手資料整理等研究方法進行,分析整理後,發現股市財經節目觀眾的收視動機非常明確,為主動閱聽人,收看節目係屬工具性行為,主要目的係希望投資獲利。因此,節目設計應先考量以下兩點:(1)股市財經節目的觀眾特性:男女比例相當、年齡層較高、學歷較高、居住北部地區較多、家庭所得較高、對資訊需求差異大、對節目是否應教育功能意見分歧。(2)股市特性:資訊瞬變、影響股市漲跌因素甚多、需專家解說。
而股市財經節目雖與其他節目有明確區隔,唯同類型的電視投顧節目或股市貼盤節目本身並無差異化,造成電視投顧節目以消耗投顧老師的方式進行經營,四個股市貼盤節目僅有二個尚稱成功,本研究建議節目產製單位應以更深層、更能吸引觀眾的相關投資資訊來提升閱聽眾對節目的忠誠度,而同類型節目之間則應以觀眾對資訊偏好的需求、對節目教育功能的不同的認知來進行差異化。 / This analysis will 1) examine the current format for Stock Market Analysis Television Programs, the program content, the program hosts types, and the host speaking styles. 2) Examine program viewer behavior, based on viewer ratings, audience profile, and the role that these programs play in the daily lives of its viewers. 3) Ascertain the key elements of these programs and provide recommendations based on conclusions reached through cumulative analysis of such television programs and the behavior of their viewers.
Based on text analysis, in-depth interviews, and second-hand data, viewers appear to have clear utilitarian motivations for watching these television programs, they are active listeners, and their primary objective is to profit on their stock market investments. Program design should take into consideration the following elements: 1) Viewer Demographics: even proportion of male and female viewers, higher age-bracket, highly educated, living primarily in Northern Taiwan, high household incomes, strong demand for new information, split on whether such programs provide educational value. 2) The Nature of the Domestic Stock Market: information changes quickly, factors affecting the rise and fall of stock prices are many, professional market insight and analysis is needed.
Stock Market Analysis Television Programs, which are quite different from other television programs, fall into one of two main types: Investment Consulting Company-produced Analysis Programs, Real-time Market Data and Analysis Programs, with very little variation between competing programs in each category. The former generally relies on a string of new program hosts in an attempt to maintain viewer interest. There are currently only four of the latter type of program currently running with only two of them showing even mild success. This report will recommend that producers of such programs should offer more in-depth content so as to better attract and maintain viewers. Competing programs should also distinguish themselves from one another by offering different types of data and analysis content, and different levels of educational content in their programs.

Architect of empire: Joseph Fearis Munnings (1879-1937)Roberts, Heulwen Mary January 2013 (has links)
New Zealand-born architect Joseph Fearis Munnings (1879-1937) is largely forgotten in the country of his birth. Considering the importance of his public works in Bihar and Orissa, India (1912-1919) and his prominence as a school architect in New South Wales, Australia (1923-1937), recognition of his architectural achievements is long overdue.
This thesis takes as its premise the notion that early twentieth century architecture in colonial New Zealand, India and Australia was British, the rationale expounded by G. A. Bremner in Imperial Gothic– Religious Architecture and High Anglican Culture in the British Empire (2013). My thesis argues that, considering Munnings’ colonial upbringing and English training, the styles he employed reflected his and his clients’ identity as British. It explores the extent to which Munnings adapted British styles, by incorporating features appropriate for colonial conditions. Drawing upon the work of Ian Lochhead on the achievements of Samuel Hurst Seager, my thesis considers the role played by Seager in mentoring Munnings and guiding his philosophy of architecture. Peter Scriver’s papers, ‘Edge of empire or edge of Asia’ (2009) and ‘Complicity and Contradiction in the Office of the Consulting Architect to the Government of India, 1903-1921’ (1996), also inform my analysis of Munnings’ work in India.
To enable an analysis of Munnings’ work, this study divides his career into chronological stages: Early experiences and training, Christchurch, New Zealand, 1879-1903 Architectural training, London, England, 1903-1906 Partnership with Hurst Seager and Cecil Wood, Christchurch, 1906-1909 Work with Leonard Stokes, London, 1909 Responsibilities and achievements, India, 1910-1918 Contributions and achievements, New Zealand, 1919-1923 Partnership with Power and Adam, Sydney, Australia, 1923-1937.
This thesis, the first comprehensive study of Munnings’ career, illuminates the extent of his architectural legacy in India, his significant contribution to school architecture in New South Wales, and asserts his place as an architect of the British Empire.

證券投資信託基金已是國人重要的理財主要工具之一。回顧我國證券投資信託基金發展的歷史,從早期為吸引外資投資我國而開放設立證券投資信託基金,接著也成為我國投資人重要之投資工具,到後來開放境外基金得以在國內顧問,境外商品就此開始深受國人喜愛;直至證券投資信託及顧問法通過,主管機關依授權訂定境外基金管理辦法後,國人得投資經由總代理人依法向主管機關申請核准或申報生效在我國境內募集銷售之境外基金,也開啟了境外基金與證券投資信託基金於國內銷售既競爭又合作之關係。
境外基金與證券投資信託基金於國內銷售之競爭合作的關係,不僅在產品創新及銷售金額等方面,本文所關切的是,在境外基金管理辦法公佈實施後,我國證券投資信託基金相關法規發生了什麼變化?有無任何規定是因為境外基金管理辦法實施後,證券投資信託基金相關法規不得不隨之調整者?還有,有無任何境外基金的規範進而影響我國既有之規定?當然,是否也有境外基金業者因為境外基金管理辦法的實施,必須調整其基金的運作與內控制度,以符合我國之法令規定?甚至,有無任何境外基金註冊地,為配合我國市場及法制環境,而更改其法令者?
本文之研究係以比較我國證券投資信託基金相關規範,與境外基金管理辦法暨我國境外基金主要註冊地之法源,尋找彼此規範不同處,了解其為何規範不同的理由與背景,探討規範不同點之存在理由合理否,進而探詢彼此間之衡平性,以作為提供我國基金產業法律發展之參考資料。
最後結論除回覆前述問題並舉例說明外,並嘗試歸納本文之研究結果,對證券投資信託基金與境外基金之法制規範差異性比較,採見解扼要衡平重申外,並期對我國基金產業之整體發展提供建言。 / The securities investment trust fund is one of the important financial investment vehicles in Taiwan. Looking back on the history of Taiwan fund industry development, from the early days of fund launch to attract foreign investments to these modern days that funds become important investment tools for the investors. Soon later the offshore funds were open to the domestic consultants, they began to be a favored investment product for many investors. After the Securities Investment Trust and Consulting Act takes effect, the regulator prescribed the Regulations Governing Offshore Funds. The local investors may invest in the offshore funds that have obtained authorizations from the regulator, which contribute to not only the competition but also cooperation by and between the offshore funds and the securities investment trust funds in Taiwan.
The competition/cooperation between the offshore funds and the securities investment trust funds can be seen at not only the product innovation or domestic sales. More importantly, this thesis concerns more on what are the regulatory initiatives that have been taken for the securities investment trust funds due to the promulgation of the Regulations Governing Offshore Funds. Are there any requirements of the securities investment trust funds that will need adjustments or amendments after the implementation of Regulations Governing Offshore Funds? Also, what are the impacts on the current rules and regulations after the birth of offshore fund regulations? Of course, will the offshore funds managers need to adjust their operation and internal control system to be in compliance with the laws and regulations in Taiwan? Will any offshore funds domicile jurisdiction change their respective laws in order to meet the requirements set fort by the market and legal environment in Taiwan?
This thesis uses a comparative study of the related laws of the securities investment trust funds and the Regulations Governing Offshore Funds as well as the directives of UCITS, the original law of most of the offshore funds. To realize what is the specification of their difference and to explore the rationality of their difference. Moreover, to seek the balance of inquires among them, so as to contribute to the fund industry in Taiwan as the reference for legal development.
Finally, the thesis tries to summarize the results of this study in addition to replying to the above questions with some examples. After the comparison of the legal systems between the related laws of securities investment trust funds and that of offshore funds, this thesis briefly reiterates the opinion of the balancing and provides concrete and workable suggestions to further the development of the fund industry in Taiwan.

Mit der Insolvenz der Schlecker-Drogeriemarktkette im Jahr 2012 wurden erstmals die technisch-organisatorischen Schwierigkeiten thematisiert, die mit der Implementation von Transferangeboten für bundesweit tätige Unternehmen des Einzelhandels mit mehreren tausend Beschäftigten verbunden sind. Der Gegenstand der Fallstudie ist die Arbeit des Trägers START NRW GmbH (im Folgenden: START) im Rahmen der Praktiker/Max-Bahr Transfergesellschaften.Im Zentrum dieser Studie stehen sowohl die Perspektive der Teilnehmer_innen wie auch aus der Sicht der Berater_innen von START. Die Bewertung und Analyse der Transferberatung schließt die Charakteristika der Beschäftigten ebenso mit ein wie die strukturellen Rahmenbedingungen dieser spezifischen Transfergesellschaft, die in einem Verbund aus sechs Trägern eingebettet war. Die Fallstudie untersucht die psychosoziale Unterstützung in der Beratungsbeziehung zwischen Teilnehmer_in und Berater_in nach dem Arbeitsplatzverlust. Schließlich benennt die Fallstudie ausgewählte begünstigende Faktoren und Entwicklungspotentiale für das Praktiker-Transferprojekt und zukünftige Transfergesellschaften. / Transfer companies are an instrument at the interface of labor market policy and company personnel policy. With the bankruptcy of the Schlecker drugstore chain in 2012, the organizational difficulties associated with the implementation of job-to-job transitions for nationwide retail companies with several thousand employees were discussed for the first time. The subject of this study is the work of the promoter START NRW GmbH ('START') within the framework of the Praktiker / Max-Bahr transfer company. The focus of the case study is both the perspective of the participants and the perspective of the START consultants. The evaluation and analysis of the transfer companies includes the characteristics of the employees as well as the structural conditions of this specific transfer company, which was embedded in a network of six institutions. The case study examines psychosocial support in the counseling relationship between participant and counselor after job loss. Finally, the case study identifies selected facilitating factors and development potentials for the Praktiker transfer project and future job-to-job-transitions.
