El cómic como herramienta pedagógica en las visitas virtuales del Museo de Artes y Ciencias Ingeniero Eduardo de Habich / Design as a cultural mediator to optimize virtual tours to the Museum of Arts and Sciences Ing. Eduardo de HabichDíaz Cárdenas, Ana Cecilia 12 August 2021 (has links)
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, massive and group activities were banned. For this
reason, the Museum of Arts and Sciences “Engineer Eduardo de Habich’’ decided to use
the Google Meet videoconferencing platform to carry out virtual tours and thus continue
to approach its audience. The museum presents a wide range of information, however,
according to the testing carried out in the diagnosis, this can be tedious and unattractive
for the teenage public who are in fourth and fifth year of high school and who are part
of the museum’s target audience. This is due to the fact that the communication tone
used in the virtual tours is not appropriate to capture the attention of the teenage public
and encourage their participation. This project aims to create a solution to the identified
problem, through the development of an interactive virtual catalog. The graphic style of
the comic books was taken as a reference and basic gamification concepts were used. The
graphic proposal proved to be an immediate solution to the problem and was accepted by
the teenage public, who showed interest in learning more about the museum’s collections.
Thanks to the gamification techniques used in the final dynamics, it was possible to
generate participation from the public since a playful environment was created and thus
it was ensured that the information provided was received correctly. The project lays
the foundations to explore different solutions through the use of languages related to
teenagers such as comic books. / Trabajo de Suficiencia Profesional

[en] BETWEEN IHGB AND MONTEIRO LOBATO: (RE) SIGNIFICATIONS OF HANS STADEN S BOOK / [pt] ENTRE O IHGB E O MONTEIRO LOBATO: (RE) SIGNIFICAÇÕES DO LIVRO DE HANS STADENDEBORA MEIRA DOS SANTOS 16 November 2016 (has links)
[en] Published in Germany in 1557, the book of Hans Staden about his travels to Portuguese America acquired wide circulation in Europe, with several translations. Part of its success is attributed to the fact that reporting on newly incorporated into the European knowledge region and expose the author s association with indigenous practitioners of cannibalism rituals. In 1882, the reporting of Staden had its first translation into Portuguese made by Tristao de Alencar Araripe. The IHGB member, in addition to the transposition from one language to another, (re) mean the book turning it into a scientific record can say about Brazil in its early days. The report also will have other translations into Portuguese, and (re) meaning in different times and circumstances: Albert Lofgren (IHGSP member) in 1900 and the writer Monteiro Lobato in 1925, 1927 and 1945. Each of these agents translated the book Staden in order to reach different audiences and say, through the report, his idea of history of Brazil and nation that was intended to form. Monteiro Lobato published more than once that material, giving him a lobatiana translation or a literary arrangement, adapting it also for children, using his famous characters of the Sitio do Pica Pau Amarelo (literally translated as Yellow Woodpecker Ranch) as Dona Benta and Narizinho. From the location of these publications, I tried to understand why this book of the sixteenth century take on a symbolic value for their different translators and, accordingly, identify how each assigned new meanings to the book and what are these.

'Impious easterners': can oxygen and strontium isotopes serve as indicators of provenance in early medieval European cemetery populations?Brettell, Rhea C., Evans, J., Marzinzik, S., Lamb, A., Montgomery, Janet January 2012 (has links)
No / Considerable debate persists concerning the origins of those involved in the adventus Saxonum: the arrival of Germanic peoples in Britain during the fifth century AD. This question was investigated using oxygen and strontium isotope ratios obtained from archaeological dental samples from individuals in the ¿Migration Period¿ cemetery, Ringlemere, Kent (n = 7) and three continental European sites (n = 17). Results demonstrated that strontium alone is unable to distinguish between individuals from south-eastern England and north-western Europe. Although 87Sr/86Sr values from Ringlemere fell within local biosphere parameters and suggest a spatially and temporally related group, ¿18O values were inconsistent with origins in eastern England or on the North German plain. Results from the European sites negate past climate change as an explanation. It is possible that culturally mediated behaviour has obscured geographical relationships. Further work to characterize water sources and human ¿18O values in the putative European homelands is required. / NERC

Lídia Besouchet e Newton Freitas: mediações políticas e intelectuais entre o Brasil e o Rio da Prata (1938-1950) / Lídia Besouchet and Newton Freitas: political and intellectual mediations between Brazil and the Rio de la Plata (1938-1950)Rangel, Lívia de Azevedo Silveira 14 October 2016 (has links)
This dissertation intends to analyze the exile of Lidia Besouchet and Newton Freitas, Brazilian leftists militants forced to leave Brazil during the Estado Novo due to political persecution. After crossing Uruguay border, and a short layover in Montevideo, the couple set up a house in Buenos Aires for a dozen years, in which time they grew an intense cultural life based on a strong connection to a rich web of intellectuals. They were mostly concerned with propagating Brazilian culture in Argentina. In order to do so, they have published dozens of books and articles, promoted conferences and exhibitions, taken part in publishing entrepreneurship and translations, fomenting, in that way, the interchange of artists and writers of the two countries. This research aims to understand the importance of their role in the Rio de la Plata during the 1940s, and also to think about the general complex scenario of the not-so-close relations between Brazil and Hispanic America. This research made use of three different kinds of historical documents: personal archives composed by letters, post cards and manuscripts; the political police files; and the set of publications of the couple during the time they lived in exile.

Le festival comme événement reconfigurateur de stéréotypes. Cine Las Americas et les Latinos (Austin, Texas, 1998-2017) / The festival as a stereotype-reconfiguring event. Cine Las Americas and Latinos (Austin, Texas, 1998-2017)Cheyroux, Emilie 23 September 2017 (has links)
From the beginning, Hollywood has used disparaging stereotypes about Latinos to create a series of threatening characters that give shape to the fears of the American society. This research focuses on the Latino film festival Cine Las Americas (Austin, Texas) and questions the explicit and underlying strategies used to deconstruct such stereotypes. First, the study analyzes the different phases that have allowed Cine Las Americas to become an institution between 1998 and 2017. The research also highlights the synergy with the city of Austin, « weird » Creative City, to show how it represents a fertile ground for the festival. It also situates Cine Las Americas in the historical context of Latino film festivals in order to understand their emergence at the turn of the millenium and their specificities.Second, after going over the Hollywood stereotypes about Latinos, the content of the movies from the first fifteen festivals (1998-2012) is analyzed to shed light on the corresponding counter-stereotypes, especially through the image of the migrant, the central figure of the movies about the border. The analysis sheds light on the unifying themes and the counter-narratives and questions Cine Las Americas’s Chicano heritage. Last, the research seeks to consider Cine Las Americas’s position in international and local networks from the beginning to 2017. It seeks to determine how the movies from « the Americas » are used to implement the anti-stereotype mission and to bring forth the collective figure of the Indigenous people, thus demonstrating how Cine Las Americas has become a Field-Configuring Event (FCE). This strategy confirms Austin’s driving force and portrays the organizors as cultural diplomats.

Les identités politiques et religieuses libanaises : Expression et censure des représentations / The Lebanese political and religious identities : Expression and censorship of the representationsSayah, Rita 02 December 2011 (has links)
The Lebanese political identities have often been linked to the existing religious identities. Lebanon has known in fact a number of civilizations and cultures, and has continuously been a place of political and religious tensions. From a methodological point of view, this thesis is based on readings and analysis of the press and the media, in addition to the literature of different artistic expressions. In the first section, the thesis focuses on the problematic. We present the multiple Lebanese political parties, their ideologies, their relationship with power and their history, especially after the Taef agreement (1989). We also study the political institutions and the political practices in Lebanon, as well as the multiple forms of political engagement. The thesis also tackles the important role of the traditional Lebanese families and the charisma of politicians. In the second section, we study the link between the political identities and the religious identities in the Lebanese public space. It focuses on the different kinds of relations that bound those two identities, in addition to the religious implications of wars. Also, this section analyses the geographical distribution of the political and religious identities in the country. In section number three, the thesis highlights the expressions of the political identities. It suggests an approach to the representation of these political identities in the media, in the fiction (literature, cinema, etc), in the songs and in fine arts. Finally, the last section focuses on the censorship, important concept in Lebanon, in the presence of a number of political and religious powers that influence the process of communication. We will define censorship, and focus on different kinds of censorship (political censorship, religious censorship, invisible censorship). We will also highlight the procedures and laws that lead to censorship, and the different ways followed by journalists and artists to face it.
