Telenovela e identidade nacional no ciberespaço: explorações metodológicas da recepção internacional de Caminho das Índias em comunidades virtuais / Telenovela e national identity on cyberspace: methodological procedures of Caminho das Índias internacional reception in virtual communities.

Denise de Oliveira Freire 17 September 2010 (has links)
Is it possible to talk about national identity in times of globalization? With this question as the issue and also the telenovela as the nation narrative, we intend to perceive the interpretation and the shaping of new social meanings for the audiovisual product in cyberspace through existant communities and discussions promoted by brazilians living in Portugal about Gloria Perez\'s telenovela Caminho das Índias (Rede Globo) broadcasted by SIC. For us to develop this study, this dissertation highlights yetst the need to review concepts and methodological procedures, once the research on virtual space brings us new challeges to methodology of research and especially Comunication methodology.

Carvalho, Ana Cristina Azevedo Pontes de 16 August 2013 (has links)
Made available in DSpace on 2016-03-15T19:35:17Z (GMT). No. of bitstreams: 1 Ana Cristina Azevedo Pontes de Carvalho.pdf: 1518327 bytes, checksum: 57c67b18a326439fe55735c46dcd12fe (MD5) Previous issue date: 2013-08-16 / The innovations in the exercise of citizenship after the evolution of technology lead to reflections in the Law area, concerning information, liberty of expression and respect to private life. The use of cyberspace as a way to practice juridical acts was transformed by the creation and popularization of internet, which made possible the information process as no other way of communication could ever have done, due to the fact that it allowed people to inform, be informed and keep informed in an easier way. The modern conception of citizenship requires, not only solidarity to demand the rights for which the whole society is interested, but also covers the needing that all people have access to technology, otherwise it would make very difficult to exercise their rights. Inserted in the research area Citizenship Modeling the State , due to the needing of revision and consolidation of the concept of citizenship and the rising importance of the right to information, when internet plays a preponderant role on citizens life, the objectives of this thesis are: to analyze the role of the right to information on the cyberspace, reflecting about how it models the performance of the State and leads to the exercise of an active citizenship, modernizing democracy, and also to evaluate if this right is present in the construction of the rules for a civil regulation of the internet. The methodology comprehended a documental research, using both national and foreign literature, and also the current legal rules, the Law Project (and Substitutive) that intends to create the Civil Regulation of Internet and the case law, based on the literature of authors such as Alexy, Bucci, Castells, Dahl, Dworkin, Lévy and Pinsky. This thesis was divided in three chapters: the first one regards the transformations of society, related to the right to information; the second one studies the internet and its role on the exercise of citizenship; the third one analyzes how the creation of a civil regulation of internet in Brazil may promote the exercise of the right to information and consolidate citizenship. It was supported that the rules regarding the exercise of the right to information and applicable to the cyberspace of internet may consolidate citizenship, concluding that the Law Project 2.126/11 (and Substitutive) contains the main rules in order to cover these objectives, as an effective public policy related to the exercise of citizenship.

This doctoral dissertation, inspired by the assumptions of converge culture which blurs the frontiers between new and old media, art and entertainment, entertainment and education, high and low culture, aims at investigating the emergence of online textual interventions related to the Machadian classic. The dislocation of Machado’s literature to the platforms of Web 2.0 signals for the current reader’s challenge to have access to this output under various mediatic circunstances which keep certain distance from previous models of adaptation. Therefore, the focus of our analysis lies upon less traditional rereadings of the literary text (twitterfiction, fanfiction, web series, tv series, facebook simulation, animated cartoons). Our hypothesis is based on the power of the media and the digital culture genres to configure new interfaces for the literary adaptation as well as the literature teaching practices in the present time. Thus, this work unites critical/theoretical perspectives for the studies of adaptation in the context of media convergence related to the possibilities that the digital space, its technologies and the participative culture from which it emerges, offer for the multiple literacy procedures – literary and digital – in cyberspace.

The fact is, we are intertwined in many ways at all times. People have already "connected" socially through a network of signs, codes, languages, and especially common interests, long before the advent of the internet. Even the simplest idea of networking may be a tangle of small interconnections, but it may also be followed by a large and rich theory of the Umbandist Continuum. When a continuum forms in the physical space, offline, it becomes an online, virtual space. This phenomenon deserves attention under several aspects. Much more so if this entire process involves a theme that allows connections between various "worlds", in addition to the physical, as is the case with religion. In this work, we studied the way in which technological changes and the formation of new communication environments are appropriated by a network of social, ritual and religious practices linked to Umbanda. We sought to understand how these connections may or may not alter the mode and the possibilities for understanding the continuum in the "recent" Umbanda.

Klady a zápory sociálních sítí / The pros and cons of social networks

Justová, Martina January 2015 (has links)
The aim of my thesis was to find out how people behave on social networks. My focus was to highlight the advantages and disadvantages that come out with moving into the cyberspace. As I discovered while writing, social networks can be used for good purposes, for example the charity. At the same time, I concluded that any advantage can be abused. The use of social networks is very tricky. I made up a survey to determine how people use social networks, and which are the most popular. I've created five hypotheses, two got confirmed and three did not. I believe that the results of this survey brought out quite valuable information. The questionnaires revealed that the most popular social networking site was Facebook. It was also confirmed that social networks became a real part of daily life. I wanted to draw attention to the actual topic. I think social work is important to deal with this issue more, because a lot of problems with children and adolescents takes place on the Internet today. Ignorance of this environment can lead to misunderstanding or ignorance of problems and it prevents resolving them. This topic has many more angles to describe from. I can see the importance of kids getting informed at schools by teachers and also instruction of their parents what to take care about.

Boj s terorismem v EU - "kyberterorismus" jako nová bezpečnostní hrozba / EU fight against terrorism - "cyberterrorism" as a new security threat

Snížková, Žaneta January 2013 (has links)
This diploma thesis deals with European Union and current security threats, concretely with Cyberterrorism. Cyberspace and internet became essential parts of our living over the last decades due to rapid development of information and communication technology. The increased dependency on cyberspace is visible in all governmental operations, public-private sector, financial and business operations, as well as communications between individuals and groups. As a result our society is facing new threats. On one hand cyberspace is a place for economic growth and innovation, on the other hand criminals, spies and terrorist use cyberspace as a place for their activities. Our society should be aware of these negative impacts as well. Cyberterrorism by its nature is considered to be a very dynamic phenomenon. Regarding this fact this thesis provides a dynamic way how to define Cyberterrorism and reveals main perspectives of Cyberterrorism. Tracking the European Unions Convention on Cybercrime and main means to fight Cyberterrorism, this thesis analysis whether European Union disposes of appropriate means to engulf the dynamic nature of this phenomenon.

The different faces of Bulimia Nervosa

Bradford, Karen Mayler 16 October 2007 (has links)
The Different Faces of Bulimia is a research project that has represented a journey. It began with the question “How do females experience bulimia as part of their lives?” and moved through rooms where different ‘faces’, or theories on bulimia, were met with and interviewed. There appear to exist, in literature concerning bulimia, five dominant faces on the matter. These are the Psychopathology face, the Psychoanalytic face, the Cognitive-behavioural face, the Cyberspace face, and the Narrative face. Each of these appeared to offer an individual and different meaning of bulimia. The research extended to include the sixth and seventh faces of C and L, two women who live with bulimia in their own lives, and the meaning that they attach to it. They represented the individual faces that existed in human interaction and not in the words of books, magazines, or computer screens. The meaning of bulimia in C and L’s lives was searched for in interviews with both women that were audio-recorded and transcribed. The analysis of these was done in line with narrative methodology which holds that our experience is constructed in collaboration with history (or past experience) and culture. Both history and culture is assumed to inform and co-author the narratives of bulimia in C and L lives, as well in the lives of the five dominant faces explored in this research. The analysis took the form of searching for the meaning that C and L attach to bulimia. The five dominant literary faces also became the history and culture that one supposes women living with bulimia to co-exist with, and their effect on their personal narratives became important. That is, whether the dominant literary faces had an effect on the stories told by the faces of these two women. In line with narrative methodology, this research’s aim was not to provide one final answer or conclusion to the research question, but rather to provide an analysis of the individual meanings contained in each face. It has, in effect, added another face of bulimia in it’s search for what bulimia means. / Dissertation (MA (Counselling Psychology))--University of Pretoria, 2007. / Psychology / MA / unrestricted
