In this newspaper, we examined editions containing facts that gathered multitudes, such as the 300 thousand strike in São Paulo, the section called Tendinha de Reclamações (Stand for complaints) and the editions after Getulio Vargas suicide with a view to understanding the communication contract in the context of a populist government. The analytical methodology involves discoursive analysis of visual and written texts. Última Hora newspaper became a landmark in the Brazilian press history; other newspapers analysed for comparison, such as the ones that belong to the Folhas corporation and O Estado de S. Paulo, adopted other ways to construct such themes in a communication contract which priorized an enunciatee more interested in international issues rather than Brazilian workers claims. In view of the themes examined, we stated the following problem: how and to what extent Última Hora newspaper, while constructing another visuality for the crowds, proposed new communication contracts different from the newspapers at the time? The subject is Última Hora newspaper, São Paulo branch, especially involving the covers of several sections, as well as pages or backcovers with specific topics, time-limited between 1952, the year of the branch foundation, and 1955. Such period of time was selected because, mainly from 1952 to 1954, the mass manifestations were very much present in the newspaper contents. For this research, we used the following methodological procedures: a survey on the pages of the proposed newspapers, bibliographical and internet research, detailed examination of news reports, founding the study on authors from the communication and social history areas, such as Patrick Charaudeau, Elias Canetti, Boris Fausto, Octavio Ianni, Jorge Ferreira, Maria Celina D Araujo, among others. This research seeks to understand the connecting processes between the political context, the public power and the people by means of the communication on media vehicles / Esta pesquisa examina o projeto figurativo e temático do jornal Última Hora no início da década de 1950, circunscrito à construção da visibilidade do povo, das massas e das multidões na espacialidade visual/verbal e ao funcionamento do contrato de comunicação entre enunciador e enunciatário. No periódico foram examinadas edições contendo fatos que reuniram multidões, como a greve dos 300 mil em São Paulo, a seção Tendinha de Reclamações e as edições dos dias posteriores ao suicídio de Getúlio Vargas, com a finalidade de entender o contrato de comunicação no ambiente do governo populista. A metodologia analítica envolve análise discursiva de textos. O jornal Última Hora constituiu um marco na história da imprensa brasileira; outros jornais analisados a título de comparação, como os do grupo Folhas e O Estado de S. Paulo, adotavam outros modos de construção destes temas em um contrato de comunicação que privilegiava um enunciatário mais interessado nas questões internacionais e menos nas reivindicações operárias nacionais. Formulamos, em decorrência dos temas examinados, a seguinte problemática: como e em que grau o jornal Última Hora, ao construir outra visualidade das massas, propôs novos contratos de comunicação diferenciados dos jornais da época? O corpus é constituído pelo jornal Última Hora, sucursal de São Paulo, envolvendo especialmente as capas das diversas seções e páginas ou contra-capas com temáticas específicas, recortadas temporalmente entre 1952, ano de fundação da sucursal, e 1955. Foi selecionado este percurso temporal porque, especialmente de 1952 a 1954, as mobilizações populares estiveram bastante presentes no jornal. Para esta pesquisa, tomamos os seguintes procedimentos metodológicos: levantamento de amostragens de páginas dos jornais propostos, pesquisa bibliográfica e eletrônica, exame das reportagens, fundamentando o estudo em autores da comunicação e da historiografia sociológica, como Patrick Charaudeau, Elias Canetti, Boris Fausto, Octavio Ianni, Jorge Ferreira, Maria Celina D Araujo, entre outros. Este documento mostra uma interpretação do comportamento do consumo de energia elétrica baseada nos dados numéricos que foram coletados com o uso de contadores de Ah em 38 instalações fotovoltaicas domiciliares. A pesquisa envolveu igual número de famílias de 10 comunidades rurais com diferentes características sócioculturais localizadas nos Estados de São Paulo, Pernambuco e Amazonas, no Brasil, e adicionalmente na região Puno, no Peru. Também se discute diversas questões acerca do consumo de energia elétrica em sistemas fotovoltaicos domiciliares e sua relação com o desenvolvimento socioeconômico. O objetivo principal é propor um procedimento para dimensionar esses sistemas que inclua os múltiplos fatores que foram identificados e que exercem forte influência no comportamento do consumo. Estes foram denominados fatores técnicos, gerenciais, psicológicos, geográficos, demográficos, socioculturais e econômicos. O procedimento proposto leva em conta a constatação resultante da análise estatística dos dados por meio da qual a função de distribuição Gama é a que melhor caracteriza o comportamento desse consumo. Em sua essência, esta função indica que “muitas pessoas consomem pouco e poucas pessoas consomem muito". / This document shows an interpretation of the behavior of the electric energy consumption based on the numerical data collected with the use of Ah meter in 38 solar home systems. The research involved an equal number of families of 10 rural communities with different sociocultural characteristics located in the Brazilian States of São Paulo, Pernambuco and Amazonas, and additionally in the Puno region, in Peru. It also raises several points concerning the electric energy consumption in SHS´s and its relationship with the socioeconomic development. The main objective is to suggest a procedure for the sizing of SHS´s that includes the several factors that were identified and that exert strong influence in the behavior of the consumption. These were called technical, administrative, psychological, geographical, demographical, sociocultural and economic factors. This procedure takes into account the evidence resultant of the statistic analysis of the data by means of which the Gamma distribution function is the one which better characterizes the behavior of this consumption. Essentially, this function indicates that “many people consume little and few people consume much".

The period of government of Fernando Lugo is studied as in his leadership occurred several violence, real estate occupations and a constant struggle between peasants and large landowners: the Paraguayan press analyzed called them as "Brazilians in Paraguay". They quickly had their dismissal with a large majority supported by sectors of brasiguayos, since they saw the government as an obstacle to their development as an economic agent and also testify that they lived in total abandonment during his government (indications). The question that directs the research is: Who are the brasiguayos transmitted in the two newspapers? As a methodological support we have the paradigm of Carlos Ginzburg that takes main attention in the individual appearance, in the indications and thus its influence is qualitative. As a bibliography, we use the contributions of Leandro Baller (Jose Luis Albuquerque, Paraguayan and "Brasiguayo" peasants on the eastern border of Paraguay), Henrique Da Silva (frontiers, advantages and peculiarities of Teuto-Brasiguaya colonization), The Paraguayan Encyclopedia, among other researchers of expressive contribution. These narratives of the authors, in agreement or not with the indications of the newspapers. It shows that the difficulties of these Brazilians are shown in the obtaining of legal titles of their properties that often walks to the fight with peasants and Paraguayan carperos. We note that both specialists in the brasiguaya theme and the two newspapers present the theme of "identity" that is present with the confrontation of "I" and "other." Therefore, it is understandable the manifestation of a national identity and the barrier of adaptation by the other. In this way, it is sought to understand how is the treatment given to the brasiguayos in the newspapers of ABC Color and Last Hour in Paraguay reinforcing the idea that the term itself receives several meanings because they are dynamic actors. / A pesquisa analisa as representações sobre os brasiguaios produzidas pela imprensa paraguaia no período da assunção do presidente Fernando Lugo Mendéz, entre os anos de (2008- 2012 até o golpe de Estado), e anos posteriores ao seu governo. Estuda-se o governo de Fernando Lugo devido que na sua liderança ocorreram várias violências, ocupações de imóveis e uma luta incessante entre os camponeses e grandes latifundiários de terras: a imprensa paraguaia analisada os nomeia como “brasileiros no Paraguai”. Consequentemente se tem a sua destituição em sua grande parte apoiada por setores de brasiguaios, já que viam o governo como obstáculo para seu desenvolvimento como agente econômico e também porque viviam em total abandono durante o seu governo (indícios). A pergunta que norteia a pesquisa. Quem são os brasiguaios veiculados nos dois jornais? Como base metodológica temos o paradigma Indiciário de Carlo Ginzburg que presta principal atenção na aparência individual, nos indícios. Como referenciais, utilizam-se as contribuições de Leandro Baller (brasiguaio ator indefinido), Jose L. Albuquerque (Campesinos paraguayos y “brasiguayos” en la frontera este del Paraguay), Henrique Da Silva (fronteireiros. Vantagens e peculiaridades da colonização teuto-brasiguaia), a Enciclopedia Paraguaia, entre outros pesquisadores de expressiva contribuição. Estas narrativas dos autores, em concordância o não com os indícios dos jornais demonstram que as dificuldades destes brasileiros, brasiguaios se veem na obtenção dos títulos legais das suas propriedades que encaminha muitas vezes a briga com camponeses ou carperos paraguaios. Notamos que tanto os especialistas da temática brasiguaia como os dois jornais apresentam o tema da “identidade” que se faz presente com o confronto do “eu” e o “outro”. Portanto, é compreensível a manifestação de uma identidade nacional e a barreira de adaptação pelo outro. Desta forma pretende-se compreender como é o tratamento dado aos brasiguaios nos Jornais ABC Color e Última Hora no Paraguai reforçando a ideia de que o termo em si recobra vários significados porque são atores dinâmicos.

Esta tese apresenta análises de dois problemas de máquina única relacionados à programação da produção com seqüência predefinida. Para ambos os problemas são sugeridas modelagens via programação matemática e algoritmos que encontram a solução ótima em tempo polinomial e pseudo-polinomial. O primeiro problema é o de inserção de espera no problema com função-objetivo que considera s soma de funções convexas do horário de término independentes para cada ordem. O segundo considera custos distintos de adiantamento e atraso para cada ordem e custos de utilização de capacidade adicional ponderados distintamente para cada período de capacidade adicional que possa ser utilizado. Sugere-se adicionalmente um procedimento onde o mesmo avalia a melhor opção entre se utilizar tempo de espera, horas-extras e criar ou eliminar turnos de trabalho. São feitas análises e algumas generalizações como a utilização de diversos intervalos de tempo com diferentes custos concatenados e uma sugestão para a utilização dos procedimentos num ambiente de múltiplas máquinas / This thesis analyses two cases of one-machine problem regarding to production scheduling with fixed sequence. In both problems, modeling with mathematical programming, and (pseudo)polynomial-time algorithms are suggested. The first problem deals with idle time insertion in the problem where the objective function (represented by a sum of costs) considers that each job has costs described as any convex function of its completion time. The second problem considers earliness and tardiness with distinct costs for each job considering the possible use of additional capacity. For the additional capacity we assume that there are distinct costs for each time period where jobs can be processed. A procedure dealing with options of either to change the number of shifts or to utilize overtime considering total costs is suggested. Analysis and generalizations based on the utilization of several contiguous time periods with distinct costs and a heuristic extension for the multiple-machine case are also presented

The thesis deals with the local political party line in the environment of regional government. The work is focused on the town of Kutna Hora (Central Bohemia). The first part, the literature search, is the theoretical definition of basic concepts that deal with the local political party line in four categories according to the size of the municipalities. The most important is a definition of medium-sized municipalities, which corresponds to the currently investigated Kutna Hora. Then there is a definition of the characteristics of communal system, voting behavior and formation of municipal coalitions. The literature search is followed by the practical part, where there is the acquired theoretical knowledge applied to the local government of Kutna Hora. The focal point is based on the identification of local political participants (local organizations of political parties and other political organizations, interest groups, etc.), their electoral successes, the internal decision-making mechanisms, relationships and activities. The essential finding is that it´s not possible to apply expressly the assertion of Katz and Maira that the number of members of local organizations of political parties is steadily decreasing in western democracies, to the local government of Kutna Hora. The number of members in particular political entities of Kutna Hora is relatively high. Mutual relations of political entities of Kutna Hora however are based on personal sympathies and aversions. The local political system can be assessed as fully competitive, based on the principle of government and opposition.

A pesquisa trata do projeto gráfico do Segundo Caderno do jornal Zero Hora (ZH), pe-riódico cuja circulação paga é a maior do Rio Grande do Sul e a sexta do Brasil. O Se-gundo Caderno, suplemento diário de cultura de ZH veiculado de segunda a sábado, é um dos cadernos mais lidos da publicação. O estudo identifica e analisa quais são os elementos gráficos e as estratégias compositivas utilizadas pelo caderno, verificando como estes articulam-se com os processos editoriais e com os valores do campo jorna-lístico, a fim de compreender as especificidades do design gráfico desenvolvido junto ao segmento diário cultural. Os procedimentos metodológicos adotados foram a pesquisa bibliográfica; a avaliação quantitativa e qualitativa de um corpus composto por edições dos meses de julho, agosto, setembro e outubro de 2011, num total de 24 edições; a ob-servação das rotinas produtivas da editoria que produz o caderno; e entrevistas não-estruturadas com cinco profissionais que atuam neste setor. Os resultados mostraram que o jornalismo possui uma cultura de trabalho muito forte e que suas condicionantes guiam a prática do design nesse contexto. A afinidade teórica entre as áreas mobilizadas para pesquisa pode ser percebida no plano dos objetivos junto ao público e na corres-pondência entre os parâmetros que orientam a atividade do design e os critérios e valo-res do jornalismo. Na avaliação do projeto gráfico, houve proximidade em muitos as-pectos entre o que a teoria apontava e o que foi identificado através da apreciação das edições. Não obstante, também foram percebidos alguns pontos questionáveis, como o pouco uso ilustrações e infografia e o grande volume de fotos de divulgação, tendo em vista que a cobertura do caderno é de cunho planejado e que seu foco privilegia os acon-tecimentos locais. Isso revelou a tensão inerente ao campo jornalístico, em que a pres-são do tempo, a estrutura e a rotina de produção editorial formatam os elementos e as estratégias gráficas que configuram as edições. / This research discuss the newspaper Zero Hora's Segundo Caderno graphic project, a journal whose paid circulation is the bigger on the state of Rio Grande do Sul and the 6th in Brazil. The Segundo Caderno, a newspaper's cultural daily addendum conveyed from Monday to Saturday, is one of the most read on the publication. The study identi-fies and analyses which are the graphics elements and the layout strategies used by the paper, verifying the way it deals with the editorials process and with the journalistic field values, in order to understand the graphic design specifics developed nearby the daily cultural segment. The methodologics procedures adopted have been the bibliogra-phic research; the quantitative and qualitative evaluation of a corpus composed by July, August, September and October of 2011 issues, in a total of 24 issues; the observation of the editorial's productive routines which produces the addendum; and interviews not-structurate with five professionals acting on the editorial sector. We noticed that the journalism has a work culture very strong and that its conditions guides the design prac-tice on this context. The theoretical affinity between the mobilized areas for the research can be noticed on the goals nearby the readers and on the interchange between the pa-rameters which guides the design activity and the journalism values and criterions. On the graphic project evaluation, had been nearness in a lot of aspects between what the-ory pointed and what was identified through the editions enjoyment. Despite that, were noticed also some questionable points, like the sparse use of illustrations and graphics and the great quantity of publicity pictures, intending that the addendum coverage is planned and its focus privileges the locals issues. It revealed the tension on the journa-listic field, in that the deadline stress, the structure and the editorial production routine create the elements and the graphic strategies which shapes the issues.

In the diploma thesis "St. Nikodemus Hagioreites and the sources of his thought" I focus on the writings and views of this saint, which some scholars do not consider as Orthodox and find there an influence of the West. For example, professor Yannaras finds in the work of St. Nicodemus the influences of the Trident Council, of Enlightenment and Pietism. These and other influences, according to the researchers, are reflected in the writings of the saint. His writings Invisible Combat and Spiritual Exercises are also problematical. These are revised books of Roman Catholic spiritual literature. It is a matter of exploring who translated these handbooks and how they came into the hands of the saint. In my work I gradually attend to the possible influences on the work of St. Nicodemus, to the writings considered to be influenced by the West, some of the saint's views and their comparison with the views of other theologians and peripheral to the hesychastic movement. Very important Nicodemus' issue is the question of frequent Communion. Is it really about trying to restore the practice of the early Church? In each chapter there is the task to provide briefly basic information and to outline issues related to the topic.

O presente trabalho aborda a trajetória jornalística do escritor Caio Fernando Abreu no jornal Zero Hora, de Porto Alegre. A pesquisa efetua um recorte biográfico de CFA, com ênfase na atuação profissional, a partir de entrevistas com amigos e ex-colegas de jornalismo do escritor, além de recorrer a livros já publicados sobre a vida de CFA. Em seguida, é feita uma discussão sobre as diferenças e semelhanças entre jornalismo e literatura e sobre os elementos característicos da crônica, à guisa de argumentação teórica. Por fim, é realizada uma análise dos textos de CFA publicados entre as décadas de 70 e 90, também no jornal Zero Hora. / This work is about the writer Caio Fernando Abreu as a journalist at Zero Hora, an important newspaper in Porto Alegre. The research directed to a biographic view, with friends and ex colleagues journalists, aiming his professional side, besides studying books about CFA's life. Following, is discussed differences and similarities between journalism and literature, in a chronicle point of view discuss its characteristics in a theoretical approach. Finally, is made an analysis in ZH texts, published in 70's and 90's.
