Dorigo, Marina Goulart. January 2019 (has links)
(Resumo completo, clicar acesso eletrônico abaixo) / Abstract: Communication is a building element of society. Through their communicative sharing, societies were and are being constituted and organized. In this way, communication permeates and connects all social constituent elements. And just as in society, communication also founds organizations, as well as being the link that keeps them connected with the context in which they are inserted. Given this, a social communicational transformation slips into the organization and its communicative relations. The phenomenon of mediatization begins with the introduction of digital and internet technologies in the daily lives of societies. This communicational movement promotes the reformulation of structures, symbols and interactions, bringing to the organizations new communicational contexts, new media and new communicative relations. Given the above, this study aims to analyze and identify the transformations in organizational communication relations in organizations inserted in the context of mediatization. In order to achieve the objective, a conceptual and applied study was carried out, with descriptive, exploratory and interpretative purposes. The semi-structured interview with communication managers working in IT companies in the city of Bauru / SP was the methodological technique of data collection. Given the collected data was applied the content analysis methodology for categorization and interpretation of results. Based on the results, it can be concluded that the main organization... 1:1 – teknik före funktion? : A study of the motivations and implementation of municipal 1:1-efforts

Olsenmyr, Emil, Sannehag, André January 2013 (has links)

In search of a definition of CSR : A study of Swedish business press during 2005-2014

Thornton, Laura, Kvarnström, Eskil January 2015 (has links)
In recent years Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) has been the subject of much attention and the concept has been referred to as a global movement and mega-trend, which has resulted in a long and diverse history in the academic literature. However, little attention has been paid to the part media plays in the construction and popularization of CSR. The aim of the thesis is to draw insights on how media frames and present the concept of CSR. In order to examine this a quantitative content analysis has been performed on two leading business papers in Sweden, during the years 2005-2014. The thesis builds on a previous study by Grafström and Windell (2011) in which they analyze how CSR is defined in English business press. The findings of this thesis suggest that corporations are the main actors in framing CSR and that Swedish business press mainly stress CSR as a management idea, containing several arguments for incorporating CSR. As oppose to Grafström and Windell (2011) our study presented some differentiating results, which might be explained by different institutional environments.

Crabb, Evelina, Bäcklund, Karin January 2008 (has links)
This study focused on how local politicians in Kalmar perceive journalists and their intertwined relationship. We based our study on the theoretical understanding of today’s media-centric democratic society. The ‘adversary model’ offered an understanding of the intricate relations between politicians and journalists. The relationship builds on constant trade where both parties are dependent on each other. Politicians exchange information to gain attention in the media. Journalists needs politicians as important sources of information and have the power to control the exposure that politicians get in the public eye. This study was researched and conducted through qualitative interviews with local politicians. We found that experienced politicians have developed an understanding for journalistic work and that it is important to have a good relationship to reach out to their constituency. This professional relationship has to be kept at arm’s length as it otherwise risks to become too muddled. We learned that politicians are well aware of the need to adapt to media conditions – there were, however, examples of breakdowns in this precarious relationship. The politicians in our study delivered several examples of how media adaptation is managed, e g how press conferences are scheduled according to media deadlines and are held at suitable locations so that photographers can get good pictures. Trust appeared to be the crucial condition for a rewarding relationship. Every politician in our study agreed that it is all a question of trust.

Berntsson, Jonathan, Larsson, Simon January 2014 (has links)
Total amount of words: 15 269. In this essay, the purpose is to examine the personalization of Swedish national coaches during international championships in the Swedish tabloids. Research shows that a leader nowadays is representative for her organization. Therefore it could be assumed that the way the national coach is portrayed can have some kind of effect on the public opinion about the team as a unit and their sport federation in total.  This essay is a quantitative study of the sport tabloids Sportbladet och SPORT-Expressen during three international championships: Euro 2012 in football, WC 2013 in ice hockey and Euro 2014 in handball. We have studied the coverage of the national coaches Erik Hamrén, Pär Mårts and Ola Lindgren/Staffan Olsson in contrast to the coverage of their teams in total. The main results are that the national coaches are mentioned in every second article that is written about the national teams during the championships. They are mainly portrayed in a neutral way, even though the coverage of them is affected by the results in the matches. In the absolute majority of the articles, the national coaches are described without any personal attributes.

Mediatiserad religion i ramen av humor : En studie av den amerikanska sitcom-serien the Big Bang Theory / Mediatizied religion in a humour context : A study of the American sitcom-series the Big Bang Theory

Andersson Happe, Emma January 2015 (has links)
Since 2007 the American sitcom the Big Bang Theory has spread throughout the world. With its twenty million watchers it is one of the most popular sitcoms of our time. The starting point for this essay is that the humourus series with the more or less geeky main characters is more than just entertainment - it is a part of the mediatization of religion. This means that media is affecting the recipients’ view on religion in general and the personal religion. As we watch TV, we get socialized into how to act in our every day life. In this case, it is about religion depicted as entertainment. Through a film analysis of a number of selected scenes from the first three seasons of the series, this essay stresses the representation of the religious traditions Judaism, Christianity, Hinduism and religion in general. On the basis of etnocentrism, exitocism and a differentiation between religious praxis and religious beliefs my conclution is that Jews are portrayed in a very ”modern” and secular way, Christians are narrow-minded and quite stupid and Hindus are doing strange rituals and believe in very unreasonable phenomena. Religion in general is portrayed as something accepted but it should be rational and religous practice has its own time and place.

“If you don’t exist in media, you don’t exist politically”.

Edberg, Clara, Sandorf, Elin January 2018 (has links)
Previous research has been done in the field of Political Communication, aimed to show a deeper understanding of how social media affects the public opinion. Less studies have been made aimed to understand how youth federation communicates with potential voters. We are therefore interested in gaining a deeper understanding of what three Swedish youth federations publish on their Instagram accounts to attract potential voters during the early stages of the election year 2018. The aim of this report is to examine and analyze how three of the biggest youth federations in Sweden communicates with potential voters though the social media platform Instagram during the first three months of 2018. Through a qualitative image analysis supplemented by informant interviews, we have been able to study which communication strategies the youth federations used when they published pictures on Instagram during the limited period of January 1 until March 3, 2018. Our findings suggest that the variation of the published material depends on what political marketing orientation the federation belongs to. We hope that our study can contribute with useful understandings into further research.

The report when inserted in the context of journalism in your post-industrial stage, is one of the genres that turns when published on the web, although visible permanence in relation to publication media predecessors. Here, the focus is on the transformations. These transformations occur in the sphere of the message itself, since hypertextuality and convergence significantly alter the informative presentation, resulting in hypermedia, language naturally adapted to the Internet environment; as well as they occur in the plan of productive arrangements, where new configurations of teams and differentiated work routines are present, being intrinsically related to both the current scenario in which the media companies and the hypermedia imperatives meet. Allied to this, in view of the varied contemporary media ecosystem, it must be reiterated that the transformations are also present in the stage of receiving the messages, leading, in some cases, to the elaboration by participatory users, post-reception, of criticism about the media. These criticism can return to the sphere of production, provoking diverse directions; as well as influencing the stage of the reception of messages, something that meets the idea that we live today in a mediatized society. Thus, under a systemic and relational view, it is considered that from the research object - the hypermedia report - uncovered interrelations previously unpublished between emitter, message, receiver and receiver productions. The articulation between Mediatization and Media Ecology composes the theoretical basis of the thesis. For the empirical stage, the weekly series of TAB reports, published by the brazilian portal UOL, was selected in the period from October 2014 until October 2017. Each sphere investigated required the use of different methodological tools, such as systematized observation (investigation of the message), the in-depth interview (to obtain data about the sending system), and the analysis of media critical devices (research on consumption and its developments). The main objective of the thesis is to construct a theoretical repertoire about the consolidation of the hypermedia report through the optics of complexity, from the articulation of the object to external factors, of macrossocial order; as well as the interrelationships between the different stages of the hypermedia reporting cycle (from production to social responses). Some of the main results indicate that the valuation of innovation - in its economic and social aspect - is essential for the establishment of hypermedia reports as a journalistic format. This, however, is commonly "closed", making transmedia strategies of distribution necessary to extend the circulation of the content of the reports to social media, for example. The analysis of social responses to such transmedia strategies has, however, revealed notable shortcomings in the reception process, since different levels of understanding share common spaces of interaction, configuring distinct and often disparate transmedia reception subsystem. / CAPES 001

This study aims to investigate the marks of the contemporary audiovisual culture inscribed in the propaganda produced by Al Hayat Media Center, a media arm of the Islamic State (IS), specialized in the production of content in English and European languages. The investigation bases on a theoretical repertoire, which seeks to clarify the motives behind the discursive and technical choices that shape these productions, leading us to three initial stages of work. The first is the mapping of the ascension process of modern Islamic fundamentalist movements, which gives us a glimpse of the narrative that influenced the thinking of the ideologists who created Islamism in the 20th century and whose ideas serve as the basis for the construction of the IS discourse. The next step is to unveil the media practices of the movement from which the group derives, showing how they evolved in parallel to the process of globalization and dissemination of new communication technologies. Reflections on the constitutive processes of culture and the impacts of the new information and communication systems on them, under the mediatization bias, complete the apprehension of the phenomenon. In addition, the parameters of contemporary audiovisual culture help us situate the actions of the Islamic State in a society permanently “attacked” by bombs of images that revive the power of the realism. It is the background, which supports the analysis of 10 videos released by the Al Hayat Media Center between 2014 and 2016. Available in the online repository by Aaron Zelin, a researcher at the Washington Institute for Near East Policy, they respond to two main criteria. One of them being the fact that they were released in the ascension period of the IS as global character (for this reason synthesizes its publicist longings and strategies) and constitute a rich sample of the hybridism of the group’s audiovisual pieces intended for the western audience. The other is the evidence that they sustain the hypothesis that they merge elements of contemporary audiovisual culture and jihadist culture, in this case strongly represented by the format of nashīd video. From the detailing of the videos, we propose to identify the characteristics of each production and draw points of connection between them to group them into large categories, which we call “audiovisual marks” and which the objective is to prove where the Islamic State propaganda seeks its backing. For this purpose, we propose a method of analysis based in the methodology framework developed by Francis Vanoye and Anne Goliot-Lété (1994) to scrutinize a genre that shares the genetic material of our object of study: the propaganda spots. It bases in two central axes: style and discourse. The first one consists of four guidelines that help us to describe the structure of the videos and determine their stylistics particularities: duration, visual material, characteristic of plans and assembly. The second axis seeks to determine how the group message articulates in each video. To this end, it proposes three observation spots based on the functionality of the “communication contract” proposed by Patrick Charaudeau (2006). The combination of these two poles allows us to proof that the IS propaganda has constructive logics and editing tools naturalized by the contemporary audiovisual culture, which turns the symbolic arsenal of the Islamic State into an eximious model of the new face of terror.
