No. of bitstreams: 1 Eliezer Victor Pereira Ramos.pdf: 706023 bytes, checksum: ecafbafba46d7c71ffd6cc6e68eee3f8 (MD5) Previous issue date: 2009-02-09 / Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior / This research compares the Biblical counseling developed and proposed by Jay Edward Adams and the Analytic Psychology of Carl Gustav Jung. According to Jay Adams, in order to be Biblical, the counseling must be Nouthetic, word transliterated from Greek and which is related to confrontation and exhortation. This is the main idea of Jay Adams counseling: confrontation of personal sin in the life of the person who has been counseled. As it is said by the author, there are not the words neurosis and psychosis , they are something that science created, behind all not organic disease there is a personal sin which must be confronted so as to have the repentance, or, to change the behavior. In the same way, John MacArthur Jr. developed his Biblical counseling establishing a substantial division between Psychology and Counseling, position that all Christians, compromised with the Bible, have to take. However, the life of Jung is opposed to this idea. He, who founded the field of Analytic Psychology, declares to be protestant and protector of the Christian faithfulness. Therefore, there are two positions of Christians on Psychology and, consequently, a theological and psychological analysis of Biblical Counseling in the last chapter. Thus, for the theological analysis, there are two main points: first, the Biblical counselors who follow Jay Adams thoughts and who indicate, in a way out of proportion, the God s special Revelation and with a reduction of the General Revelation importance, not taking into consideration that God gives intellectual capacity, using common recognition, for all human beings; second, the Biblical counselors state that the Bible is a counseling manual par excellence, although, It does not take some themes of mental disorders, but establishes thoughts categories so as the humanity, agreeing with the Bible, help his or her Brother. The psychological analysis indicates only one point: the definition of mental disease of the Biblical counseling, since it is the principal possibility, as a helpful device, will determine the position of someone in relation to Psychology. Jung asserts that the mental equilibrium is established in a healthy relation between conscious and unconsciousness, since it is essential to mental health in order to know and understand unconscious aspects of personality, a constructive attitude for the future.

A história do absoluto: teogonia e cosmogonia no ‘sistema dos tempos’ de Schelling / The history of the absolute. Theogony and cosmogony in Schelling’s ‘system of times

The present research was developed aiming to understand and to expose the idea of God or primal Being’s genesis and the world of finite beings from this point on, in the perspective of F.W.J. Schelling, such as presented in The Ages of the World. To this effect the research was driven by the radical question ‘why is there something rather than nothing?’. For its part, this question was analyzed in the context of the formulation of a system of times in whose interior is articulated the yet-to-come of the primal Being and God's life in its different ages. From that ontological-metaphysical radical question comes out the understanding that the appearance of finite beings from God is a free and conscious process, i.e. God wants to reveal Himself. Schelling's purpose in The Ages of the World is to narrate this process scientifically, i.e. to show how the Absolute come out from itself and is revealed in the creation. The question, at this point, is an investigation of the Being, which reveals the metaphysical aspect of this research. Along with this radical question, is necessary to consider other some in order to achieve the purposes of this research: what makes possible for the finite and limited to know the infinite and unlimited? In other words, how can the man know God? And furthermore, how to know and understand the advent of time in its bipolarity finiteness/endlessness? That brings us to the epistemological aspect of this research. The answers to these questions contain an idea that will be widely explored in the research following this project: Schelling believes is an analogy between God and the human being and, therefore, the man has a co-knowledge of the creation. This is the fundamental idea followelly the investigations of Schelling in this research.

The research analyzes the relationship between the set of symbols used in the book and the political resistance of the Christian community on the oppression of the Roman Empire at the dawn of Christianity. Accordingly, from a bibliographical methodology, this study encourages critical reflection between the text and the context of Revelation, seen as engaged literature with the opposition to oppressive conditions to which many Christian communities were subject. The work is divided into three chapters: the first discusses the socio-historical context of Christian communities that favored the emergence of Revelation. The second is an analysis of the text of Revelation 17,1-18 in terms of exegetical and hermeneutical. Finally, the third discusses the ways in which some symbols are described criticism of the political oppression of the Roman Empire.

[en] ANALYSIS OF ALTERNATIVES OF INVESTMENT IN THE PETROLIFEROUS AREA UNDER THE OPTICS OF THE REAL OPTIONS INLAYING THE INVESTMENT OPTION IN INFORMATION / [pt] ANÁLISE DE ALTERNATIVAS DE INVESTIMENTO NA ÁREA PETROLÍFERA SOB A ÓTICA DAS OPÇÕES REAIS, EMBUTINDO A OPÇÃO DE INVESTIMENTO EM INFORMAÇÃO

[en] The Real Options Theory approaches the reality in financial analysis better than the traditional methods (NPV and TIR, for example), as it turns possible to change the plans that had already been done, according to the situation (managerial flexibility). This subject is very important, specially for projects that involve huge amount of investment, a lot of uncertainty and low reversibility. Normally, the oil industry s projects have these kind of characteristics; justifying, this way, the application of this theory. In this case, because of the huge capital needed to be invested in order to develop the oilfield, it s worthwhile to analyze the advantages that can be provided by a forward investment in information in order to reduce the technical uncertainty. This is one of the objectives of this work. Therefore, one real case of the oil industry is being used in this work, considering three different available alternatives for the development of the oilfield, which one having its own scales of production, and always adopting situations with technical and economic uncertainties. It was done simulations for different percentage of uncertainties revelations (provided by the information obtained forwardly), for different costs of the investment in information and for different quantities of alternatives available to the manager. This last simulation shows the value added by the flexibility provided with the increasing of alternatives to develop the oilfield. This is the other objective of this work.

[en] REVELATION AND EXISTENCE: A STUDY ON THE PLACE OF THE SYMBOL FOR THE KNOWLEDGE OF GOD IN THE CONTEMPORARY WORLD / [pt] REVELAÇÃO E EXISTÊNCIA : UM ESTUDO SOBRE O LUGAR DO SÍMBOLO PARA O CONHECIMENTO DE DEUS NO MUNDO CONTEMPORÂNEO

SILVANA GOMES VENANCIO CABRAL 15 December 2011 (has links)
[en] The purpose of this research was to reflect on the revelation of a transcendent God and his relation with a finite human being in Paul Tillich. When asked about this relationship, the research is lead by a the idea of how can the knowledge of God, conditioned by human finitude, and how that knowledge is in danger of becoming a knowledge like any other. For the only way of man to know the reality around you is always through the subject-object structure. But God can not be an object among others. Thus, research aimed at studying the theology of Paul Tillich, an existentialist theology, which posits the concept of language as a symbol of faith as a way for the revelation of God is welcomed, without making God an object of idolatry and fanaticism. To answer these questions, the first time the research pervaded the limits of human reason, through the contribution of philosophy, making a relationship between human existence and finitude. In a second time the research established the relationship between the revelation of a transcendent God and human experience in everyday life. The experience of a revelation which requires approximation, which is not something outside, objective, but existential. Finally the search was halted on faith as an inherent dimension of the human being, a faith that communicates through symbols, mediated by language and tries to escape all the purposes of fundamentalist domination and imposition.

Teologické a religionistické aspekty vědeckého sporu ,,Babel-Bibel" / The Theological and Comparative Religious Aspects of the Scholarly Dispute ,,Babel-Bibel"

Sýkorová, Jitka January 2017 (has links)
This dissertation thematically belongs to the field of "History of Science and Scholarly Knowledge" with significant reach to theology and exegesis. It concerns the dispute of whether the annunciated text of the Old Testament was in all respects original or if it in some respects followed the traditions of ancient Near Eastern civilizations, particularly the Sumero-Akkadian one. The purpose of this thesis is to introduce the fundamental information on the "Babel-Bibel" dispute to the Czech scholarly community for the very first time. The dissertation includes an analysis of the course and consequences of the dispute as well as a discussion of the impact of Oriental scholarship on Old Testament exegesis.

Revelation's hymns : commentary on the cosmic conflict

Grabiner, Steven Charles 02 1900 (has links)
Topic This study examines the hymnic pericopes found at Revelation 4.8-11; 5.9-14; 7.10- 12; 11.15-18; 12.10-12; 15.3,4 and 19.1-8 in light of the cosmic conflict theme. It considers that this theme is a major contributor to the development of Revelation’s plot, and thus the hymnic sections are informed by, and inform the understanding of the controversy. Purpose Recognizing that the majority of critical studies give interpretative primacy to the social and political realities that existed in the Roman Empire at the time of Revelation’s composition, there is need for an examination of the storyline from the perspective of issues that are clearly of narratival importance. This study argues that the cosmic conflict is at the center of the book’s concerns, and attempts to determine the function of the hymns in relation to the ongoing controversy. Previous examinations of the hymnic sections have either considered them to be a response and/or parody to Roman liturgy, examples of God’s unquestioned sovereignty, or expressions of thematic overtones found throughout the book. While all these approaches make a contribution to a greater understanding of the hymns, the relation of the hymns to the ever-present conflict theme has not been explored. This study allows the hymnic sections to engage with the larger narrative issue as to who is truly the rightful sovereign of the universe. Conclusion This study found that a close examination of the text confirms that the cosmic conflict is the major motif in the narrative, and that it does not simply serve as a metaphor for political realities. It also concluded that the temple/throne room imagery found throughout the storyline, should have a controlling influence upon interpretation. This setting provides the backdrop for understanding the origins and issues of the controversy. Another conclusion of the study is that the only way for the controversy to be resolved is for God to reveal Himself in such a manner that the truth about Him is manifest. Finally, it was seen that the hymns do provide commentary on the conflict, by acclaiming God’s goodness and right to rule, despite the undertones of Satan’s accusations. / New Testament / D. Th. The infinite subject in the mirror of oneiric autobiography. Fragmentary narrative in Juliusz Słowacki’s Król-Duch and Gérard de Nerval’s Aurélia

Harsany, Katarzyna 31 January 2011 (has links)
« Dream is a second life », Gérard de Nerval writes. « I have never been able to cross through those gates of ivory or horn which separate us from the invisible world without a sense of dread ». He sees dream and real life as asunder though parallel compartments, while Juliusz Słowacki sees them a continuum, without precise boundary where one ends and the other begins. But they do agree on one point: poetry and dream are intimately united.Juliusz Słowacki’s Król-Duch and Nerval’s Aurélia have in common to be oneiric biographies, i.e. written from naked truth as revealed in dreams, where « life is free of space and time ». The outcome is well-nigh as disconnected and incoherent as dream itself. Words cannot represent adequately heavens opened. It is somewhat uncanny that, in both cases, the fragments of the « infeasible book » look like an initiation into sacred mysteries.
