Virtual onboarding på arbetsplatsen : En kvalitativ studie om möjligheter och utmaningar med implementation av 360-videos i en organisations onboardingprocess / Virtual onboarding in the workplace : A qualitative study of opportunities and challenges with the implementation of 360 videos in an organization's onboarding process

Holmgren, Ellen, Carnerud, Ebba January 2022 (has links)
In an organization such as a university with many institutions and new employees the onboarding process is a key activity for the employee life cycle. This study examines the possibilities and limitations of further digitalization of the process by including new formats for information.  The format in question is 360-videos. These videos can be viewed both on head mounted displays which are used to create a 3D environment but also on computer screens which allows the content to be accessible to those that lack the 3D equipment. Based on semi-structured interviews with HR-employees at the university the study has found there to be many activities that are suitable for the format but also a few limitations concerning planning for and executing the development of new content for the onboarding process. The conclusions drawn from the results in this study and previous studies on the topic shows that implementation of 360-videos would lead to standardized content concerning many of the activities that cannot be done digitally by conference calls or two-dimensional videos. These activities are today done in person and at the responsibility of the new hires closest manager which leads to the activities being time consuming and can vary in terms of content.

Zielgruppenorientierte Gesundheitsförderung von Migranten - Optimierung über interkulturelle Teamarbeit

Mackovic-Stegemann, Anna 29 December 2005 (has links)

Zulehner, Christoph 04 August 2008 (has links)

Migration et accès aux services de santé dans le district de Bamako : une analyse par approche géomatique / Migration and access to health services in the district of Bamako : geomatics approach

Keïta, Mamadou 08 October 2018 (has links)
This thesis aims to contribute to the understanding of Bamako people’s access to healthcare according to their migratory status. Indeed, despite the large share of Bamako’s populations of migrant origin, we have little knowledge of their access to health services. With geographic and geomatic tools and methods, we were able to study access to health services for native and migrant populations of Bamako. While it is undeniable that health services and especially basic services are abundant and well distributed in Bamako, it should be noted that this offer suffers from several problems such as the permanent availability of qualified personnel, the quality of services offered and the dysfunctions between health structures. Despite the abundance of healthcare in Bamako, the recourse rate remains too low. This shows that access to care is not limited to the physical availability of health facilities. The renunciation of care is explained by an interweaving of factors even if the perception of the severity of the disease, the position in the household and the profession appear more. If the study did not find notorious differences in the access to the care according to the migratory status of the population, it nevertheless showed that recourse strategies and health status change with length of residence in Bamako

Interactive 360-degrees video : User experience, user interface and heads-up display for educational training scenarios in nursing education

Glinghammar, William January 2023 (has links)
This thesis explores the user experience, potential and design principles of a HUD-based user interface in combination with interactive 360-degrees videos in nursing education. A HUD-based 360-degrees video was designed around a previously recorded scenario in an emergency room and user tests were conducted on nurse educators, working nurses and a nurse student.  Data from the user tests were gathered both through observations and interviews. The results show that participants' experience was overall positive and that the technology is seen as a realistic, interesting and valuable way to educate nursing students. Although no definitive design principles could be established for interactive 360-degrees videos, the result suggests that focusing on key design principles for multimedia learning may provide a better user experience. These principles include managing extraneous, essential and generative processing.

Offline H.264 encoding method for omnidirectional videos with empirical region-of-interest

Sormain, Rémi January 2017 (has links)
Panoramic virtual reality is an emerging technology that has recently gained the attention of both the research community and regular consumers. It allows the users to immerse themselves in omnidirectional videos with the help of a virtual reality headset : thanks to an increasing amount of affordable head-mounted-displays, any recent smartphone can offer a decent panoramic virtual reality experience. However since omnidirectional videos are videos with a large field-of-view that covers the entire sphere around the camera, they require large resolutions and thus high bitrates. This master degree project conducted at RE’FLEKT GmbH is an exploratory work that seeks to reduce the panoramic video bitrate. Because of the nature of omnidirectional videos, the user can only see a subpart of each video frame, and thus some zones of the video can attract more attention than others. The purpose of this study is to introduce the concept of region-of-interest encoding in panoramic VR. The main contribution is a method to encode panoramic videos in an H.264 video format stream with a space-variant level of details depending on the zones that attract the most the viewers’ interest. First, the region-of-interest are detected through a head-tracking module combined with a Gaussian attention model. Then, the reference video is encoded with the open source x264 encoder, with a quantization step adjusted to the region-of-interest information. The International Telecommunications Union standard subjective tests show that this method can perform better than classic H.264 encoding only in specific cases.

Developing Trust in Sharing Rental Economy through Virtual Reality 360° Video

Singh, Narendra January 2019 (has links)
Students, especially international ones have a hard time seeking accommodation in big cities like Stockholm in Sweden at an adequate pricing. To facilitate such a search process and to create a sense of trust, tenants and landlords use video and/or voice calls for early communication with one another. However, the establishment of trust among tenants and landlords in this context is a challenging task. This study thus aims to investigate if innovative virtual reality (VR) approaches like 360° videos can be used to develop trust among tenants and landlords. This study undertakes an investigation from student perspective due to the limited timeframe. This study was carried out in collaboration with Ett tak (English: One roof) which is a startup working in the rental market in Stockholm. The tenants are the students and the landlords are senior people having spare space in their homes. A pre-study was conducted to identify the expectations of the students. A landlord was filmed for the 360° video which was developed into a Unity VR app. The results from the usability study indicate that most students felt a high degree of trust towards the landlord by using an immersive 360° VR tour. Conversely, the students showed hesitation to use the 360° VR by buying their own VR headsets unless VR becomes mainstream in the different areas of life. This study builds upon existing literature that validate the positive impact of attributes like profile photos, ratings and reviews on the trust level between the providers and the consumers in a sharing economy.

Microwave Lens Designs: Optimization, Fast Simulation Algorithms, and 360-Degree Scanning Techniques

Dong, Junwei 30 October 2009 (has links)
Microwave lenses support low-phase error, wideband, wide-angle scanning, and true-time delay (TTD) beam forming. They provide ideal performance for applications such as satellites, remote-piloted vehicles, collision-avoidance radars and ultra-wideband communications systems. The emerging printed lenses in recent years have facilitated the advancement of designing high performance but low-profile, light-weight, and small-size beam-forming networks (BFNs). The microwave lens adopts a few beam ports to illuminate the prescribed receiving ports that feed energy into radiating antennas. Multi-beam patterns can be achieved by exciting multiple beam ports at a time. The design process starts with path-length equations from a limited number of beam-port foci assumptions. This constraint does not take into account the amplitude information; however, it allows an initial lens geometry to be solved. The resulted scanning angle of microwave lens is limited by the beam port contour, as such ± 90 degrees. In this dissertation, three contributions are made from the aspects of minimized phase errors, accurate and efficient simulation algorithms, and 360-degree scanning range extension. First, a minimum-phase-error, non-focal lens design method is proposed. It does not require a specific number of foci along the beam contour; however, minimum phase errors for all beam ports are able to be achieved. The proposed method takes into account flexible prescribed geometrical design parameters, and adopts numerical optimization algorithms to perform phase error minimization. Numerical results compared with the published tri-focal and quadru-focal lenses demonstrate the merits of the proposed method. Second, an accurate and fast simulation method for the microwave lens has been developed to predict the phase, amplitude, array factor, and power efficiency performance. The proposed method is compared to both full-wave simulation and measurement. Comparable results have been achieved. Third, a novel method for a 360-degree scanning microwave lens is proposed. This concept uses the beam ports and the receive ports in an interleaving sequence such that adjacent ports alternate beam and receive functions. The result is a lens that produces scanned beams on opposite sides of the structure resulting in a 360-degree scanning range. The structure can use multiple opposing facets or continuous circular-port and radiating-element contours. To prove the concept, a four-facet microstrip lens has been designed, simulated, fabricated, and tested. The comparison between full-wave simulation and measurement has demonstrated good agreement. / Ph. D.
