La réception en Chine du sentiment de l'absurde dans le théâtre d'Eugène Ionesco / The reception of the sentiment of the absurd in Eugène Ionesco's theatre in China

La réception du théâtre d'Eugène Ionesco en Chine a connu plusieurs périodes différentes depuis les années 1960. Cette thèse consiste à l'explorer sous trois formes principales : la critique, la mise en scène et la création dramatique chinoise sous son influence. Les recherches sont entreprises à partir d'une réflexion récurrente de la réception d' « autrui » et la constitution de « soi ». La conception d' « autrui » traditionnelle et moderne chinoise influencent toujours la perception des cultures hétérogènes, alors que l'évolution de cette conscience depuis la fondation de la République Populaire de Chine agit profondément sur la réception de la littérature et l'art occidental. De la critique à la consécration, l'interprétation du théâtre d'Ionesco passe par le processus de rejet, refus, distinction et identification de l' « autrui ». Due à la lecture incomplète, elle se focalise sur quelques mots clés et des idées préconçues, pendant que sa conscience politique demeure un point aveugle. La pratique scénique du théâtre d'Ionesco est expérimentée pendant deux périodes intensives. Peu nombreuses, ces créations révèlent déjà des particularités de « sinisation » et la volonté de construire sa propre identité culturelle. Quant à l'écriture dramatique chinoise, l'apparition du théâtre de l'absurde chinois semble atteindre l'équilibre dans le vacillement entre deux pôles de l'emprunt de l' « autrui » et le retour du « soi ». Se référant au théâtre d'Ionesco, ce théâtre démontre des similarités. Un cas spécifique de réception d'une culture d' « autrui », celle du théâtre d'Ionesco, retrace aussi le chemin de rétablissement de l'identité culturelle de la Chine contemporaine. / The reception of Eugène Ionesco's theatre in China has witnessed several different periods since the 1960s. This thesis involves researching the reception from three principal forms: the critique, the staging, the Chinese dramatic creation under his influence. The study is begun from a recurring reflection in reception of 'the other' and constitution of 'the self'. The Chinese traditional and modern conception of 'the other' influence always the perception of heterogeneous cultures, while her evolution since the foundation of People's Republic of China has a profound effect on reception of occidental art and literature. From critique to consecration, the interpretation of Ionesco's theatre passed by the process of rejection, refusal, distinction and identification of 'the other'. Due to an incomplete lecture, it is focused on several key words and preconceived ideas, although his political conscience remains a 'blind point'. The practice scenic of Ionesco' theatre experienced two condensed periods. These creations which are not numerous convey already the particularities of 'sinicization' and the will to construct the Chinese own cultural identity. As for the Chinese dramatic creation, the appearance of the Chinese theatre of the absurd seems to attain the equilibrium in the wobble between two poles which are borrowing from 'the other' and return to 'the self'. Instead of referring to the whole occidental theatre of the absurd, but to Ionesco's theatre, this theatre demonstrates the similitude.The reception of Ionesco's theatre, a specific case of reception of the other's culture, retraces also the way of the cultural identity's re-establishment in contemporary China.

The critics often associate the fantastic typical of the author to the category of absurd. But what characterizes the absurd universe created by Rubião? This research aims to investigate the construction of the absurd in work of Rubião, both thematically and discursive. The theoretical basis for this work is the absurd philosophy, present in the essay The myth of Sisyphus, by Albert Camus, and some ideas and concepts of Jean-Paul Sartre s existentialism. Considering this, we seek to demonstrate how is the dialogue between the short stories of Rubião and the absurd according thoughts of these philosophers of existence. Parallel to the study of this theme on construction of the absurd by Rubião, will seek to analyze the use of the tools of language to create this absurdity or, in other words, the creation of a poetic of the absurd in writing of the author. While the absurdity of Rubião dialogues with ideas of the philosophy of existence, it has also important differences in some points of the dramatic content of existential and existentialist literature, presenting ironic, comic and fantastic forms. Analyze how Murilo Rubião demarcates the peculiarities of its absurdity and the relations of this absurdity with the procedures of the modern fantastic are also motivations of this research / Muitos contos do escritor mineiro Murilo Rubião (1916-1991) trazem ações e situações entendidas, no geral, como absurdas que, analisadas de forma mais detida, são representações do sentimento de estranhamento do homem diante do mundo e do esvaziamento de sentido da experiência moderna. São narrativas que levam a crítica especializada a associar o fantástico típico do autor à adjetivação ou categoria do absurdo. Mas, o que caracteriza e para onde aponta o universo absurdo criado por Rubião? Esta dissertação visa investigar a construção do absurdo na obra muriliana, tanto no âmbito temático, quanto discursivo. Elegendo como base teórica a filosofia do absurdo de Albert Camus, presente no ensaio O mito de Sísifo, além de algumas ideias e conceitos existencialistas de Jean-Paul Sartre, buscaremos apontar um possível diálogo entre os contos de Rubião e o absurdo de Sartre. Paralelamente ao estudo dessa construção temática do absurdo em Rubião, realizamos uma análise da linguagem nesse processo criativo - ou, em outras palavras, como é construída uma poética do absurdo na escrita do autor. Ao mesmo tempo em que o absurdo de Rubião dialoga com ideias da filosofia da existência, também se afirma como componente de uma obra autêntica, que destoa em alguns pontos do teor dramático da literatura existencial e existencialista, apresentando-se como formas irônicas, cômicas e fantásticas. Tendo a Arte como a expressão do espírito das épocas do desenvolvimento do pensamento humano que tratamos aqui, manifestadas no cotidiano de cada época. Based on Harold Pinter&#039 / s three plays &ldquo / The Homecoming,&rdquo / &ldquo / The Caretaker&rdquo / and &ldquo / The Dumb Waiter,&rdquo / the aim of this study is to explore the idea that an individual cannot be a speaking member of the Symbolic Order, thus of the society unless s/he obeys the prohibitions/commands of language, a concept on which both Pinter and Lacan put great emphasis in their own vision. For Pinter human beings lead a life controlled by some unknown powers and build a disastrous subjective world devoid of linguistic competence. As for Lacan, language imprisons, castrates and pushes the subject into a claustrophobic world, which is portrayed strikingly by Pinter. The result is equally impressive / for Lacan: neurosis or psychosis, oscillating between the Orders/Registers of the Symbolic, Imaginary and Real, not possessing an assigned role in the community, and for Pinter: an absurd world where there is no meaning but a sense of loss. Lacan&rsquo / s explanation for the reasons of this absurd world focuses on two significant factors : the m(O)ther, who meets the basic needs in the Imaginary Order/stage of infancy and who introduces the Father to the child, and the Father, who will enable the child to obey the prohibitions of language, and thus to secure the child&rsquo / s adulthood. Throughout the study the points which will be highlighted are as follows: the characteristics of the absurd drama, the place of Harold Pinter in the contemporary theatre and the justification of a Lacanian reading, subjectivity&rsquo / s constitution.

Les années cinquante ont vu l'apparition d'un «théâtre d'avant-garde» en France, sous la plume d'auteurs tels que Samuel Beckett, Eugene Ionesco, Jean Genet et Arthur Adamov. Au Québec, le même phénomène s'est produit, mais l'étiquette officielle de «théâtre de l'absurde québécois» n'a pas encore été prêtée à un corpus défini de pièces de théâtre. Cette étude, dans un premier temps, effectue un repérage des caractéristiques intrinsèques aux oeuvres du théâtre de l'absurde français, plus précisément celles des quatre auteurs mentionnes ci-dessus, a l'aide d'ouvrages théoriques reconnus (notamment The Theatre of the Absurd de Martin Esslin, Histoire du «nouveau théâtre» de Geneviève Serreau, Le Théâtre du nouveau langage de Gilbert Tarrab et Le théâtre de dérision d'Emmanuel Jacquart). Les chapitres subséquents sont consacrés a 1'analyse des oeuvres dramatiques québécoises Les Insolites de Jacques Languirand et La répétition de Dominic Champagne, afin de vérifier l'occurence des mêmes traits, particuliers au théâtre de dérision, et de montrer l'existence réelle de ce type de théâtre au Québec.

Enoncée notamment dans ses Notes et contre-notes, l’idée de Ionesco de donner de la matérialité à l’absence, à l’invisible, se retrouve dans la plupart de ses créations théâtrales. Pourtant, il ne s’agit pas d’une innovation technique pour soutenir le théâtre de l’absurde, dans le sens strict, mais d’une procédure qui se nourrit de l’irrationnel de l’existence humaine. Ainsi, les troubles identitaires sont la conséquence du gouffre dans lequel s’enfonce irréversiblement le personnage hanté par la mort. Dans un univers où il ne trouve plus de repères pour établir sa position, autrement dit son identité, il y a un déficit de présence. Non seulement le personnage hanté se manifeste comme présence absente, mais aussi la mort personnifiée qui transcende l’univers de sa proie. Victime et bourreau, jamais réconciliables, deviennent conscients de leur présence réciproque et leur rencontre ne se produit que pour accomplir l’acte d’agression. / In his book « Notes et contre-notes », Ionesco announces his project to give substance to absence, to the invisible, which is portrayed in most of his theatrical creations. For the playwright this is not a matter of creating new techniques to sustain the theater of the absurd, but rather a procedure that exposes the irrational side of human existence. The characters’ identities troubles are thus presented as a result as their being haunted by death – a haunting similar to sinking or falling into a deep chasm. In a universe in which the character has no clues for establishing his position or for articulating his identity, there is an absence or lack of presence. The haunted character manifests himself as a paradoxical lack of presence or a personification of death. Victim and aggressor become conscious of one another and their meeting will serve solely to accomplish the act of aggression.

Camus - who was an Algerian writer and received a Nobel Prize for Literature in 1959. He conceived the absurd as an experience resultant of the awareness of asymmetry current in the human existence. This asymmetry is set in the extreme between the human desire for happiness, unity and fullness and the evidence expressed by pain, fragmentation and limitation. The revolt exists in this scenery as Camus answer for the simultaneously demand for justice and revolt against death. As far as religion is concerned, Camus understands it as an escape founded on hope. This escape neglects and impedes the extreme consideration of human condition. The religious hope, in short, invalidate the revolt as a legitimate answer to the existential condition, as it intends to justify the injustice as an answer to a mystery. As it was provided the description of absurd and the revolt, this research turns to Paul Tillich s thought, a German theologian and philosopher, as a theoretical reference in order to analyse the specific relation between religion and Camus thought. The concept of religion and faith in Paul Tillich is as an important element as it takes into consideration the existence of an ambiguity in the religious experience, performed by Paul Tillich from the dialogue between finite and infinite, or, in other words, between the being and the no being. From Paul Tillich, we ask about the possibility of religion, even amid statement of the impossibility of the eternal. So, there ensue to the consideration that the carrying out of religious experience in Camus as an expression of a profane transcendence, where the refusal of God take communion with an everlasting demanding for perfection and eternity. / A presente pesquisa busca, a partir dos dois pólos fundamentais ao pensamento de Albert Camus, a saber, o absurdo e a revolta, discutir a relação do pensamento camusiano com a religião, no que tange fundamentalmente à sua recusa frente a um pensamento ou atitude que recorra a um sentido além da existência humana. Camus escritor franco-argelino e Prêmio Nobel de Literatura em 1959 concebeu o absurdo como a experiência resultante da consciência de assimetria vigente na existência humana. Esta assimetria se estabelece na polarização entre o anseio humano por felicidade, união e plenitude e a evidência expressa pela existência de dor, fragmentação e limite. A revolta subsiste neste cenário como resposta camusina: esta é concomitantemente reivindicação de justiça e insurreição contra a morte. No que concerne à religião, Camus compreende uma fuga fundamentada na esperança. Esta fuga negligencia e impede a consideração radical da condição humana. A esperança religiosa, em suma, anula a revolta como resposta legitima a condição existencial: pretende justificar o injusto com base em um mistério. Realizada a descrição do absurdo e da revolta, recorre-se ao pensamento do teólogo e filósofo alemão Paul Tillich, como referencial teórico para a análise específica da relação entre religião e pensamento camusiano. O conceito de religião e fé em Paul Tillich apresenta-se como elemento importante para a consideração desta relação ao salientar a vigência da ambigüidade na experiência religiosa, interpretada em Paul Tillich a partir da experiência dialógica entre o finito e o infinito, ou, em outros termos, entre o ser e o não-ser. A partir de Paul Tillich pergunta-se sobre a possibilidade da religião, mesmo em meio à afirmação da impossibilidade do eterno. Caminha-se, assim, para a consideração da efetividade da experiência religiosa em Camus como expressão de uma transcendência profana , onde a recusa a Deus comunga com uma perene reivindicação da perfeição e do eterno.

The main intentension of this work is to demonstrate the different kinds of understanding the death by individual authors. We look for the answers of the questiones, if we can find the different forms of the death. The questiones, which way authors akcept the dead in their works, or if being of the death affect their work. At the end I want to refer of the question of life after the death. If authors belived in the life after the dead or if they didn´t. The work is written with consciousness, that the death has its own secret, that is hardly to answer.

Através do aprendizado com os mestres Nair D’Agostini, Inês Marocco, Thomas Leabhart, Kai Berthold e Ana Elvira Wuo, os processos de encenação ganharam “corpo” na intertextualidade formadora da escritura cênica das montagens de GODÔ; TRATTORIA e JOGUETE, espetáculos criados a partir de uma dramaturgia escrita (“Esperando Godot” de Samuel Beckett, “O Montacarga” de Harold Pinter e “Fim de Jogo” de Samuel Beckett – na ordem respectiva), utilizada como impulso para um vôo criativo tanto do encenador, quanto do ator. / Cette dissertation se veut étudier, analyser et enregistrer le processus de mise en scène des spectacles de clown - GODÔ, TRATTORIA et JOGUETE - qui furent créés à partir de textes dramaturgiques du théâtre de l´absurde, l’objectif étant de susciter une réflexion sur les formes adoptées lors du montage de ces derniers. La mise en scène est construite selon des relations qui peuvent faire parler les théories et les techniques de Dario Fo, Lecoq e Burnier ainsi que les méthodes de Stanislavski et de Viola Spolin. On se souviendra que le théâtre de l’absurde fait référence au cinéma muet, aux dessins animés et au cirque. D’enseignements de maîtres comme Nair D’Agostini, Inês Marocco, Thomas Leabhart, Kai Berthold e Ana Elvira Wuo, la mise en scène gagne « corps » lors de l`écriture scénique des montages de GODÔ; TRATTORIA e JOGUETE, spectacles créés à partir de dramaturgies tels que : « En Attendant Godot » et “Fin de Partie” de Samuel Beckett, et “Le Monte Plats” de Harold Pinter. Ceux-ci donnant l’élan d’un vol créatif pour le metteur en scène que pour l’acteur.
