Krause, George Frederick 30 June 2006 (has links)
SUMMARY The purpose of this study was to investigate a style of advertising from the perspective of the Analytical Psychology. The style involves the depiction of a young man and woman in a state of interaction with one another. In an attempt to understand how the viewer experiences this, concepts from the Analytical Psychology of C.G. Jung were used. Jung claimed that the psyche contains constructs which he termed archetypes. Archetypes are ideas and predispositions, organisms are born possessing these. If the theory is correct, it can be assumed that these constructs will influence human behaviour. The archetypes responsible for initiating heterosexual interest are called the anima and the animus. The prevalence of different aspects of these in four television commercials as experienced by participants during interviews was studied by means of content analysis. Sexual manifestations were found to be the most prominently used aspects of the anima and the animus to market the advertised products. / PSYCHOLOGY / MA(SS) (PSYCHOLOGY)

Alván León, Alexandra Verónica 13 May 2014 (has links)

Brognez, Claire 04 1900 (has links)
Not satisfied with regular concepts usually used when one speaks about stop-motion animation, I suggest another way to discuss about animation films while analyzing four short films made by estonian directors Jelena Girlin and Mari-Liis Bassovskaja, based on a wider research on intimacy and sensory perception in art. I first explore, through a review of literature, the paradox of animating the inanimate and the Freudian umheimlich, substantially recurring in writings about stop motion films. Having demonstrated that the work of Girlin Bassovskaja be seen against the domain of intimacy, I deepen my analysis of the films by relying on theories of haptic visuality. I discover the body of works in the light of these theories, and evoke the idea of a caressing gaze from the viewer to the film, but also its reversibility. In addition, as a filmmaker creator of short animated films, the above theories are feeding my reflexions and serve to describe my almost obsessive desire to make tangible intimacy with sensual animated plasticine on glass.

Suplementação de vitamina D3 na dieta e exposição à luz solar alteram cor e fragmentação miofribilar de carne de Bos indicus sem causar impacto no desempenho e maciez / Vitamina D3 supplementation in the diet and sunlight exposure alter the beef color and myofibrillar fragmentation in Bos indicus without impact on animal performance and tenderness

Lobo Junior, Adalfredo Rocha 14 October 2008 (has links)
The beef tenderness improvement through the vitamin D3 supplementation in the diet has been challenged by inefficient results after pre-slaughter treatment and additionally possible negative impacts on the animal performance. The vitamin D3 can be synthesized in the animal through the action of the ultraviolet (UV) radiation from the sunlight, reaching maximal production at low latitudes. This work aimed to verify the possible interaction between vitamin D3 supplementation in the diet and sunlight exposure on the animal performance and their implications on the carcass and beef quality in Bos indicus. Forty-one Nellore castrated bulls (µ=411±38 kg) were feedlot for 45 days, after being assigned to 6 treatments: T1) No vitamin D3 supplementation (NV) or shade (NS); T2) NV with shade (WS 50% UV filtration); T3) With 2x106 UI of vitamin D3 for 2 days consecutive pre-slaughter (WV2) + NS; T4) WV2 + WS; T5) With 2x106 UI of vitamin D3 for 8 days consecutive pre-slaughter (WV8)+ NS; and T6) WV8 + WS. The postmortem measures were taken in the Longissimus dorsi muscle. The experimental design used was completely randomized blocks with 3 (vitamin D3 levels) x 2 (sunlight exposure conditions) factorial arrangements. There were no effect (P>0.05) on the performance variables. Lower fat thickness (P=0.09), hot (P=0.08) and cold (P=0.10) carcass weight were found for T6 compared to T5 (1.8±0.6mm; 240.5±3.0 and 236.6±3.0kg vs 3.4±0.6mm, 251.2±3.2 and 246.1±3.2kg, respectively). Plasma ionized calcium concentrations did not differ (P>0.05) between the treatments either before or after vitamin D3 supplementation. The WV8 level increased the fragmentation (P=0.09) in NS animals with regard to the WS (22.3±1.5 vs 18.3±1.5, respectively). However, the NS animals presented the lower total muscle calcium concentration (P<0.05) with relation to the WS. There were no effect on the shear force, being only observed differences (P<0.05) at aging times of 1, 7 and 21 days (10.4±0.5; 8.8±0.5 and 6.8±0.5 kgf, respectively). The WS animals showed the lower carcass temperatures (15.07±0.29ºC; P=0.05) and the higher total losses (28.9±0.5%; P=0.06). The WV8 level was efficient to increase L* (P=0.065), a* (P=0.02) and b* (P<0.001) compared to WV2 (32.3±0.5; 17.0±0.4 and 4.5±0.2 vs 30.5±0.5; 15.8±0.4 and 3.5±0.2; respectively). For these values, the WV2 level did not differ (P>0.05) in relation to NV (31.6±0.5; 15.5±0.4 and 3.3±0.2). NS (34.5±0.5) animals presented the higher (P<0.05) L* values at 24 hours postmortem than WS (32.6±0.5). Vitamin D3 supplementation in the diet and sunlight exposure did not affect animal performance and beef tenderness. The vitamin D3 can alter beef lightness. The sunlight exposure can also improve the beef lightness and interact with the vitamin D3 supplementation to define the myofibrillar fragmentation.

Braun, Adriana 08 August 2014 (has links)
Made available in DSpace on 2015-04-14T14:50:16Z (GMT). No. of bitstreams: 1 461608.pdf: 5223181 bytes, checksum: 86fc9cfeddfa54c5f8407987d8286ee5 (MD5) Previous issue date: 2014-08-08 / This work presents a methodology, named Persona, for learning and transfer of facial motion style of an actor in order to provide parameters for avatar facial animation. Through this methodology, we can drive the facial animation of avatars using the motion style of a particular actor, through the performance of any user. Thus, the avatar can express the facial movements that the user is performing, but replicating the particularities of the actor s facial movements, based on his or her Persona. In order to build the facial motion style model of an actor, we used points tracked on image sequences of the actor performance as input data. We also used a database of threedimensional facial expressions, annotated according to the Facial Action Coding System (FACS). Principal components analysis was performed using these data. Afterwards, artificial neural networks were trained to recognize action units both in the actor and user s performances. Given these classifiers, we can automatically recognize action units in the user s expression and find the equivalent parameters in the actor s motion style model. The result of the process is the provision of such parameters to facial animation systems. The prototype developed as proof of concept has been used in case studies, whose results are discussed. Future work are also addressed.

Ernestina Lesina e o Anima e Vita: trajetórias, escritos e a luta das mulheres operárias (inícios do Século XX São Paulo)

Gonçalves, Caroline 04 June 2013 (has links)
Made available in DSpace on 2016-04-27T19:30:46Z (GMT). No. of bitstreams: 1 Caroline Goncalves.pdf: 8456004 bytes, checksum: 1226d667e42dd2e7822a64bac9de46ca (MD5) Previous issue date: 2013-06-04 / Conselho Nacional de Desenvolvimento Científico e Tecnológico / The study examines the written material made public by Ernestina Lesina, an Italian socialist immigrant whose political action consisted chiefly in the defence of the working women s cause through an indefatigable participation in the debate of ideas supported by Anima e Vita, the weekly newspaper she published. The examination brings to life the tensions all too real in which the town of São Paulo was awash with early in the 20th century a time of fast urbanization and structuring of the industrial system and closely follows the spreading of political ideas and the outset of clashes between unions and employers. After depicting a general view of feminine, feminist and working class woman press, the study concentrated on the analysis of Anima e Vita and attested to the consistency of subjects covered and themes chosen, such as women s awareness of their role in society, anticlericalism, free love, marriage, education, work, and maternity/family. Ernestina Lesina s articles draw a clear profile of the socialist ideology to the indoctrination of which she devoted her efforts, emphasizing women s self-esteem and awareness, along with the vital importance of the fight to conquer their rights / A dissertação analisa os escritos propagados por Ernestina Lesina, imigrante socialista italiana, cuja atuação política consistiu precipuamente em defender a causa das mulheres operárias mediante a participação no debate de ideias, estimulado pelo Anima e Vita, jornal que dirigia.
