Would you like to have my expired life? : a study of people's experiences in having the period of sickness benefit expired

Jashari, Hadjere, Omerovic, Mirnesa January 2011 (has links)
The purpose of this thesis is to find out the reasons and perhaps some answers to the problem as we see it, the sickness benefit expiration of those who experience this. By this said we have also taken into account the different laws and adjustments in the long-term sickness benefit, but also major reformation of the security net in the Swedish society. The efficiency of the law on passive long-term sickness absence was added in July 2008, but was later in January 2010 supplemented. The purpose of this law wasn’t only to reduce the long-term sickness absence but also to reduce exclusion. These changes had also been highlighted by the media that people were actually being excluded from the society. It creates marginalization. The aim of this study is to highlight individuals' feelings about the whole performing hedge process. The survey was conducted through semi-structured interviews where we wanted a deeper knowledge of the interviewee’s experiences. In order to give the interviewee the opportunity and possibility to form their own mind and own reflections and express their own thoughts, the questions were open for answers. This allowed us to ask supplementary questions. After collecting the empirical data we did a breakdown in the following three themes: the experiences of the sickness absence, the experiences by the response of the concerned authorities. The theories chosen in this study are stigma, social exclusion, sense of coherence (SOC) and sick role. The economic exclusion creates social exclusion where as the sense of shame among the interviewee’s increase. By this said, the interviewee’s are not able to participate actively in the social activities to the same extent, but also they cannot provide for themselves. This can obviously lead to increased risk for mental illness. In our analysis we aim to discuss our issues based on the experiences for the interviewees’.

Rezultatai. Pirmo etapo tyrimo eksperimentinės grupės okliuzja 120 mm Hg mažina arterinę kraujotaką. Antro etapo kontrolinėje grupėje... No. of bitstreams: 1 GEORTHON SILVA AMORIM.pdf: 1250997 bytes, checksum: 2f4bf03439dff8f97c87967c63015499 (MD5) Previous issue date: 2017-04-26 / Throughout the whole cultural process, as new human being tendencies and needs emerge, changes and transformations occur. This context of changes brings fresh thoughts about all studies and their development. Therefore, when studying the body as a physical and cultural performance representation, as well as the body as a balance between what is inside and outside its own materiality, it seems important to understand the action of the Physical Education professional and anticipate the professional expansion that encompasses this science and the need to study such transformations in a historical process. This research shows us that what influences the relationship between individuals and Physical Activity is the promotion of a culture, not only of awareness, but of effective practice, with the use of all possible Physical Education intervention tools upon the society. We have observed the need to offer an adequate qualification to the Physical Education professionals to enable them to act in the formation of these individuals, providing them with a contemporary view of social, economical and cultural aspects of our society, as well as the principle of interdisciplinary and continuous training, allowing them to understand the complexity of our profession. In this emerging scenario, more and more "quick" and incisive words become more valuable than others which express positive values, recognized and associated with good and attractive things for a wide range of the population. That is why, for example, words such as "well-being", "health", "physical activity", "longevity", "physical fitness", "ability to work" and "employability" have become part of our lives. We can also emphasize the lack of knowledge towards the concept of physical performance and its functional applicability among Physical Education professionals, exploring the history of the body associated to the discussion of cultural performance and well-being. We have propose for this study, aligning within the time and the historical process of evolution of the society, to compile the records of the presence of physical activity practices, listing its tendencies and needs. As we expand the study of the concepts that refer to the relationship between physical fitness and health as a world priority, we create this new cultural paradigm that we must offer to society a cultural idea that physical performance is tied to the human archetype in Contemporary society, providing a chance to improve health, work capacity, wellbeing and cultural aspects. The definition of culture as the human set of material or immaterial achievements leads us to characterize it as a basic foundation of History. And it is through cultural heritage that individuals can communicate with each other, not only through language, but also through forms of behavior and cultural performances, here represented by the study of Contemporary Physical Performances.

Emlén Klaman, Alida, Lindén, Camilla January 2008 (has links)

The aim of this study was to examine how individuals with disability pension reason about a return to work. Action theory, as presented by Berglind, was used as theoretical approach. Qualitative interviews were conducted with five individuals who have disability pension due to mental illness. The respondents describe how they weigh benefits and disadvantages against each other. The main reason for a return to work is economical. The greatest disadvan-tage is the risk of losing their right to disability pension, which seems to limit their motivation to return to work. All respondents stress benefits associated with work but they do not all wish to return to work. Work is not described as equal to paid work but as an essential part of life. All respondents’ express a belief in their ability to work but are doubtful concerning their chances of getting employment, which seems to have a negative impact on their motivation as well. Furthermore, the respondents criticize the public authorities in the field of rehabilitation for not contributing to a return to work process. However, they give an example of how a non-governmental organisation has been important for increasing their possibilities of a return to work.
