MAX is a porphyry Mo deposit located near Trout Lake village in southeastern British Columbia. Mo mineralization is hosted by variably-altered calc-alkaline granodiorite dikes. Quartz veins have been subdivided into a paragenetic sequence based on vein style and crosscutting relationships. Post-magmatic Pb-Zn-Ag-bearing veins crosscut Mo-bearing veins. Similarities in fluid chemistry from both vein types suggest a genetic link between porphyry Mo mineralization and base-metal veins. Three molybdenite samples were collected from early and late Mo-bearing veins for Re-Os dating to constrain the timing of Mo-mineralizing events within the paragenetic sequence. All three dates overlap within analytical error, and yield a weighted average age of 80.3 ± 0.2 Ma. These dates are in excellent agreement with two 206Pb/238U weighted-average ages of the Trout Lake stock at 80.2 ± 1.0 Ma and 80.9 ± 1.6 Ma, indicating that the magmatic and hydrothermal ore-forming events were coeval and cogenetic.

Η διπλωματική εργασία στόχο έχει την ανάδειξη του πολιτισμικού πλούτου του χωριού Άγιος Θωμάς Ηρακλείου Κρήτης και προβολή του στον παγκόσμιο Ιστό. Για να πραγματοποιηθεί αυτό θα χρησιμοποιήσουμε τεχνολογίες διαδικτύου ανοιχτού κώδικα καθώς και περιφερειακές συσκευές απεικόνισης και σάρωσης ώστε να επιτύχουμε τη βέλτιστη ψηφιοποίηση του υλικού που διαθέτουμε. Το υλικό μας είναι τόσο φωτογραφίες, βίντεο και ηχητικά αποσπάσματα, όσο και γραπτά κείμενα που αφορούν την ιστορία του χωριού αλλά και τη σημερινή του ζωή. Μέσω των νέων τεχνολογιών αποσκοπούμε στην διατήρησή τους σε κατάσταση αναλλοίωτη στο χρόνο και προσβάσιμη από παντού και από οποιονδήποτε ενδιαφερόμενο. Ο ιστότοπος που θα δημιουργηθεί θα αποτελεί ένα κόμβο ενημέρωσης και περιήγησης στο χωριό και την ιστορία του παράλληλα με την ενημέρωση που θα παρέχει στο χρήστη για τις προσεχείς εκδηλώσεις του πολιτιστικού συλλόγου. Με λίγα λόγια θα είναι ένας τόπος συγκέντρωσης όλων όσων κατάγονται από τον Άγιο Θωμά προσφέροντάς τους ένα πλούσιο αποθετήριο της πολιτισμικής κληρονομιάς του τόπου, σε μια προσπάθεια να έρθουν πιο κοντά στο χωριό από όποιο μέρος του κόσμου κι αν βρίσκονται. Χρησιμοποιώντας γλώσσες προγραμματισμού όπως PHP, CSS, JavaScript, HTML, βάσεις δεδομένων MySQL καθώς και Content Magement Systems όπως η Joomla θα προσπαθήσουμε να δείξουμε πως είναι εφικτό να φτάσουμε σε άρτια προβολή και παρουσίαση του ψηφιοποιημένου υλικού με μικρό κόστος και σε μικρό χρονικό διάστημα αφήνοντας παρακαταθήκη για περαιτέρω εργασία και μοντελοποίηση του συγκεκριμένου CMS ώστε να τεθεί στην υπηρεσία του πολιτισμού. Θωμά «Ο Λόγιος» www.logios.gr, μέσω νέων τεχνολογιών διαδικτύου ανοικτού κώδικα. / The MSc thesis aims to highlight the cultural wealth of the village of St Thomas Heraklion and demonstrate it on the web. To do this we will use Internet technologies and open source peripherals imaging and scanning to achieve optimal digitization of materials available. Our material is so photos, videos and audio clips, and writings on the history of the village and its current life. Through new technologies we intend to keep them in a state invariant in time and accessible from anywhere and from anyone interested. The site created will be a hub for information and tour the village and its history along with information that will provide the user about forthcoming events of the cultural association. In short it is a meeting place for all those descended from St. Thomas, offering a rich repository of cultural heritage site in an effort to come closer to the village from anywhere in the world they are. Using programming languages such as PHP, CSS, JavaScript, HTML, MySQL Databases and Content Magement Systems like Joomla will try to show that it is possible to reach a well-promotion and presentation of digitized material at low cost and short time leaving legacy for further work and modeling of specific CMS to put at the service of culture.

O objeto de estudo foi o conv??nio estabelecido, em 1985, numa iniciativa considerada "pioneira", entre a Pol??cia Militar de Minas Gerais e a Funda????o Jo??o Pinheiro. ?? luz da teoria das organiza????es trabalhou-se com o pressuposto de que em ambientes altamente institucionalizados, as organiza????es s??o premidas mais por demandas de efici??ncia institucional que por efici??ncia t??cnica. Assim, a iniciativa da Pol??cia Militar de Minas Gerais, considerado inserir-se num ambiente altamente institucionalizado da seguran??a p??blica, teria se orientado mais por uma busca de legitimidade que por efici??ncia t??cnica. Sob esta perspectiva, a investiga????o compreendeu extensa pesquisa bibliogr??fica e documental, no sentido de caracterizar as organiza????es envolvidas quanto ??s suas especificidades, contexto de cria????o, trajet??ria hist??rica e ambiente organizacional. A descri????o e an??lise do momento e termo de conv??nio foram complementadas com entrevistas com atores diretamente envolvidos tanto da parte da PMMG quanto da FJP. A orienta????o mais evidente da iniciativa centrou-se no car??ter de ag??ncia p??blica da organiza????o policial militar, ou seja, nas demandas por reforma e moderniza????o administrativa. / This dissertation aimed at analyzing the relationship of "partnership" between a military police organization and a teaching and research institution. The object of study was the partnership established, in 1985, in a step considered "pioneer", between the Pol??cia Militar de Minas Gerais (PMMG) and Funda????o Jo??o Pinheiro (FJP). Under the theory of organizations worked with the assumption that in highly institutionalized environments, organizations are more droven on by the demands of institutional efficiency that technical efficiency. Thus, the initiative of the PMMG, considered fall into the highly institutionalized environment of public safety, have been guided more by a quest for legitimacy that technical efficiency. From this perspective, this dissertation include an extense researche of literature and documents, in order to characterize the organizations involved and their specific characteristics, context of creation, historical background and organizational environment. A description and analysis of time and term of agreement were supplemented with interviews with actors directly involved both as part of PMMG as FJP. Finally, it was concluded that in 1985, the PMMG proposal's of technical cooperation agreement with the FJP didn't configure, strictly speaking, a pioneering initiative. Even set up a partnership proposal. It wasn't evident the predominance of a demand for legitimacy (institutional efficiency) in spite of it can infer its existence. The most obvious direction of the initiative focused on the public agency characters of military police organization, that is, the demands for reform and administrative modernization. / Defesa e Seguran??a

Orientador: Paulo Cezar Ceresini / Resumo: O controle biológico é um dos métodos do manejo integrado de doenças de plantas, sendo uma das únicas alternativas viáveis para minimizar o impacto da queima-das-folhas e morte súbita das pastagens do gênero Urochloa (anteriormente Brachiaria). A queima-das-folhas e morte de pastagens é causada pelo fungo basidiomiceto Rhizoctonia solani grupo de anastomose AG-1 IA. Em nosso estudo determinamos se isolados de espécies de Pseudomonas fluorescentes obtidos de solos supressivos do bioma Amazônico possuem potencial como agentes de biocontrole de R. solani AG-1 IA. Especificamente objetivamos: i. Efetuar o screening de isolados de Pseudomonas quanto ao potencial de biocontrole in vitro; ii. Realizar a identificação molecular dos isolados de Pseudomonas fluorescentes selecionados como potenciais agentes de biocontrole e iii. Determinar se as bactérias selecionadas in vitro mantém, in vivo, o potencial de biocontrole da queima-das-folhas e morte da braquiária. Três isolados foram selecionados como potenciais agentes biocontroladores nos testes de antagonismo in vitro (Amana, Poti e Yara), pois diminuíram significativamente tanto o crescimento micelial quanto a germinação de escleródios do patógeno. Com base em análises filogenéticas, os isolados Amana e Yara foram agrupados ao clado de Pseudomonas putida enquanto o isolado Poti foi agrupado em clado distinto de todos os demais, e possivelmente se constitui numa nova espécie. (Resumo completo, clicar acesso eletrônico abaixo) / Abstract: Biological control is one of the methods of the integrated management of plant diseases, which is one of the only viable alternative to minimizes foliar blight impact and sudden death of pastures from genus Urochloa (previously known as Brachiaria). Foliar blight and death of pastures are caused by the fungus Rhizoctonia solani AG-1 IA. In our study, it was determined whether isolates from florescent Pseudomonas obtained from suppressive soils on the Amazon biome had potential as biocontrol agents of Rhizoctonia solani AG-1 IA. Specifically, we aim to: i. Carry out a screening of isolates from Pseudomonas to evaluate their potential as in vitro biocontroler; ii. Perform molecular identification of selected fluorescent Pseudomonas isolates as potential biocontrol agents; and iii. Determine whether in vitro selected bacterial strains maintain the biocontrol ability in vivo of foliar blight and sudden death of braquiária. Three isolates were selected as potential biocontoller agents in vitro antagonism tests (Amana, Poti e Yara), which reduced significantly mycelial growth and sclerotia germination of pathogen. Based on phylogenetic analyzes, Amana and Yara isolates were grouped to the clade belonging to Pseudomonas putida and Poti isolated was grouped in a distinct clade, and should to constitute a new species.
