A Jungian approach of events organized over the internet

MUCCIOLO, Daniel Costa Vianna 27 March 2015 (has links)

When such events occur they alter the dynamics of public and private spaces of large cities. To understand this phenomenon, the works of authors who discuss crowds, urban public spaces and cyberculture has been reviewed. Both destructive and positive traits were found on the various studies of crowds. Studying public spaces is justified because they are the backdrops for events and influence the public life of its citizens. The association with cyberculture is also essential to understand these social events, it is the means by which new information and communication technologies become instruments in the organization of events, quickly reaching a large number of participants, thanks to the speed of propagation of the information. The events studied are flash mobs; Brazilian protests of June 2013; "rolezinhos (little strolls)", and "isoporzinhos (icebox parties)". To support the study, books, articles and reports on the subject are used. For Carl Gustav Jung, collectivity is endowed with a psyche that is governed by elements very similar to the structure of our individual psyche. Empathy with events, invitations to act symbolically and trigger emotions that are already part of our cultural subconscious, are reasons that mobilize participants to express their claims emotionally (individually and collectively), such as the protests of 2013, or to create more recreational dimensions, such as the case of flash mobs, an alternative to escape the routine of large cities.

A timidez na perspectiva da psicologia analítica / Shyness in the analytical psychology approach

Esteves, Ana Letícia 28 November 2012 (has links)

No. of bitstreams: 1 Ana Leticia Esteves.pdf: 807011 bytes, checksum: 4b33fc90d4780cfb3a8bbb90e0b9b82a (MD5) Previous issue date: 2012-11-28 / Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior / This study aimed to review the literature on shyness in the perspective of Analytical Psychology. In this process, it was found that this subject is scarcely studied in jungian literature. The shyness s concept adopted was the personality characteristic that is marked by fear of social situations and other people, especially strangers, because the fear of a negative judgment. Thus, it must be configured as an object of study of psychology as it can cause pain and difficulties in one s life that has this attribute. From the bibliography it was found that there was a relationship between shadow and persona with shame. The role of shame is not only to suppress the contents but also to recognize and assimilate these shameful contents that were repressed or projected, which is essential to self-knowledge. Shame is the prompt reaction to the realization that something that does not fit the ideal image of oneself unveiled behind the mask. The individual quest for perfection and a good image of oneself, excludes all that is dark, blocking the process of individuation, which it is premised also integrate what is dark and imperfect. In the book 'Memories, Dreams, Reflections' shyness was the word used to denote what Jung felt when he 'encountered' for the first time with the anima, understood as the unknown and unconscious. The approach to these unconscious contents can generate fear and resistance, feelings that are in agreement with the conception of shyness. However, as these contents have been integrated in conscious it can promote personality growth. The work of Aron relates the shyness to the object of their study, which was the 'high sensitivity' from the perspective of Analytical Psychology. 'Highly sensitive' individuals develop shyness more easily as they experience the same unfavorable environment in a more negative way. The search for internal resources to address the fear of the other, that is unknown, will be beneficial both to overcome shyness and to be open up to new possibilities. It is the psychodynamics between self and other that promotes growth / Este estudo teve como objetivo fazer uma revisão da literatura sobre a timidez na perspectiva da Psicologia Analítica.

The population consisted of 48 people, 28 of the control group and 20 of the experimental group, referred by the city clinic of the University of Mogi das Cruzes. Both groups answered a form of characterization and Beck Anxiety Inventory. The second group also answered a semi structured interview, the technical drawing of the human figure, guided imagery and thematic design. The method of analysis of the results was quantitative for anxiety and the form of characterization in both groups, and qualitative analysis was intended only to other techniques applied in the experimental group. The analysis was based on assumptions of Analytical Psychology. It was concluded that stressful situations and conflict contributed to the development and aggravation of symptoms and it was observed that feelings of abandonment, neglect and emptiness arising from childhood surfaced for many participants, in which we found evidence of maternal and paternal complexes. A multidisciplinary approach is necessary and psychological intervention is of paramount importance for the development of traumatic content / pacientes quanto a seus sintomas de escoriação psicogênica.

Aspectos psicol?gicos do Z? Pelintra na cultura do Rio de Janeiro / Psychological aspects of Z? Pelintra on Rio de Janeiro?s culture

So this is the development of research on the african-Brazilian religious diversity. Genuinely Brazilian, Umbanda is marked by syncretism of indigenous, african traditions, catholicism and the spiritism of Kardec. It is remarkable the integration, on the mythical plan in his own Pantheon, of marginalized members categories. In this sense, Z? Pelintra is the direct representative of the Rio?s trickery which emerged in the early of the twentieth century. Historical fact of this period which we highlight, are the intense removals (remocao de que???) known as the "put-to-low" of Pereira Passos. It is in this period that the figure of the "trickster" appears circulating for several areas of the city. In 1808, with the arrival of the Royal Family and the Portuguese Court in Brazil, the Law of Pensions was established to ensure the Portuguese nobles the right to request a house to bring them satisfaction. During this period, the groups of ?capoeira? as well as tricksters, occupied the city on their own way. In the XXI century, Rio de Janeiro lives a new process of change in the urban and social space, as in the previous arbitrary removals which were part of history. Hence, Jung understands that the unconscious processes and the conscious activity generate psychic compensation ruled by tangible and / or abstract expressions. So here we have the following questions: what material and psychological impact urban removals are causing in the city of Rio de Janeiro? If removals reveal aspects of the class struggle present in the city, then we can consider the trickster and Z? Pelintra phalanx as individual and collective unconscious compensations? In our research we recognize that the image of Z? Pelintra reveals the psychological aspects related to the personification of a cultural complex. Nesse sentido, Z? Pelintra ? o representante direto da malandragem carioca surgida no come?o do s?culo XX.

To compose a research, five practitioners / supporters of Candombl? (Il? Omiojuar? - Nova Igua?u, RJ), Catholicism (S?o Sebasti?o, Barra Mansa, RJ) and Guarani-Mby? religion (Sapukai Village, Angra dos Reis, RJ), making a total of fifteen participants. From the knowledge collected in the research field, through the application of a semi-structured interview and using the resources of symbolic-archetypal processing, it was noticed that the influence of religiosity before death is manifested in many ways according to each religious group. So, the notion of the continuity of life, the value of ancestry, the hope of going to a better place, the maintenance of health and identity, among other aspects, were influences understood in the project. As a research that prioritized the context and the understanding of symbols in the collective, the project presents narratives about the beliefs related to death in the interaction and individual-group influence, resulting in the perception of the experience of death within the myths and rites of each religion researched. Thus, the influences of religiosity before death in each researched collective context were highlighted, highlighting their particularities as a religious practice, and the archetypal potential of death, as transmutation, transformation and renewal through the continuity of life, beyond the physical dimension / Este trabalho tem como objetivo compreender influ?ncias da religiosidade diante da morte, entrevistando praticantes do Catolicismo, do Candombl? e da etnia ind?gena Guarani-Mby?, para montar uma compreens?o da tem?tica, utilizando o referencial te?rico da Psicologia Anal?tica de Carl Gustav Jung, em conjunto com outras ?reas do conhecimento humano, como: tanatologia, hist?ria, sociologia, antropologia, biologia, teologia, bem como o conhecimento do respectivo praticante.

Gonçalves, Marina de Castro Nascimento 28 April 2011 (has links)
Encontram dificuldades no caminho da realização desse encontro e, nessa jornada, podem (mas não necessariamente isso acontece) transformar e ser transformados pelo outro / Background: Mentoring, a kind of relationship in which a more experienced person guides a young beginner in his development, has been adopted in Medical schools as a strategy to offer personal support and to promote the professional development of future physicians. Studies show that mentors also report changes and benefits over time, but do not explore the dynamics and meaning of these transformations. Considering that unconscious aspects are present in mentoring relationships, this study addresses the mentors development according to some concepts of Analytical Psychology, especially the archetypes and myths, emphasizing the Heros Journey, also linking them to the Medical Education field. Objectives: This study explores the perceptions and the meaning attributed by mentors to their experiences, aiming to understand their motivations, difficulties, resources and changes perceived over time. Method: The research is a qualitative study with fourteen mentors of the FMUSP Mentoring Program. The heterogeneity of the investigated group was intentional. Data were collected during the second half of 2008 and January 2009, by semi-structured interviews. Mentors answers were analyzed using content analysis technique and thematic categories linked to the study objectives were developed. Results: Mentors presented motivations related to the student (the today student and the mentor when student in the past) and to the institution (making the function official, collaborating with medical education, updating themselves about the medical course, returning the received opportunities). Most of mentors recognized difficulties along the way, which involved initial doubts, frustration with the students adhesion and overload of daily academic and professional work. To cope with difficulties, mentors highlighted external resources such as the Program Coordination, supervisors and other mentors, and internal resources, especially their own life experience. Many mentors reported changes: a reviewing of themselves and of the context in which they live, learning and rewards, especially being in contact with the youth. There are mentors, however, that did not identify changes: they justified that this kind of relationship was already present in their daily lives; others just observed changes in students, and others reported having nothing to be transformed. Conclusion: There is a desire among mentors of recovering the old, meaningful and close masterapprentice relationship; they value being a teacher and are grateful to the Institution. Symbolically, they aim to keep in touch with their \"inside wounded student\" and take care of him. Mentoring allows mentors to recover the past and to rejuvenate themselves with the present. In this journey mentors face difficulties and they may, although not all of them, transform and be transformed by other

Mitologia brasileira e psicologia analítica: experiência de campo, alteridade e modos de vida / Brazilian Mythology and analytical psychology: field experience, otherness and ways of lif

Guimarães, Flora Cardoso de Oliveira 12 December 2018 (has links)
Por fim, é apresentada uma contribuição que se insere no âmbito da psicologia analítica ao considerar dimensões da cultura brasileira que podem ser aproveitados para refletir sobre aspectos simbólicos do coletivo e da cultura, e estabelecendo algumas relações com outras áreas do conhecimento / In searching of stories related to brazilian mythology in some communities in north of Brazil, the present research accomplishes to gather narratives that allows them to be related with ways of life and creates a parallel between the context of the field experience and São Paulos contemporary life context, which is the researcher is immersed. The Analytical psychology is taken as the theoretical background which contributes both to comprehension and symbolic analysis of the myths and your relevance in each context, as well as to the elaboration of the field experience. Another relevant aspect of the reasearch is to capture views/features of the brasilian history in which the brazilian people was originated. The initial encounter between Portuguese an Indians was decisive for the existence of stories that form part of this work, such as curupira, yara and the big snake. Analytical psychologys authors, in which Roberto Gambini stands out, allowed this point, by developing a line of work which partake in this reasearchs theme in a wider sense. Finally, this research hopes to have contributed, within the field of analytical psychology, in considering dimensions of Brazilian culture that can be taken into consideration to reflect on symbolic aspects of the collective and the culture, and establishing some relations with other areas of knowledge

Myten om mödomshinnan : tolkad genom Jungs arketypteori

Schiller, Lina January 2015 (has links)
This paper interprets the myth of the hymen through the archetypal theory of Carl Gustav Jung. Today it has been proven that there exists no hymen that breaks at a woman’s first intercourse. Nonetheless, the myth of the hymen lives on – creating enormous consequences for girls and women. In several cultures the hymen symbolizes purity and a gift to be offered to the man on the wedding night. According to the theories of C. G. Jung, the human psyche contains archaic remains that run cross cultures within the whole of humanity. These remains, called archetypes by Jung, hold special functions within the subconscious, and have been expressed in religions, myths and fairytales since the beginning of mankind, according to Jung. In this paper, tales and collectively held ideas about the hymen will be examined and analyzed. The archetypes found in the material will be identified and their functions presented. The object of the paper is to try to gain a better understanding of how a belief in a nonexistent part of the body has been able to survive. According to my interpretation of Jung's theories, the hymen can be seen as a result of emotionally charged functions in the human psyche, which contributed to the creation of myth of the hymen.  Keywords: Analytical psychology, Archetypes, C. A critical Jungian investigation of student resistance to English in an Emirati university foundation-year programme

Hill, Mark Richard January 2009 (has links)
This thesis is directed towards investigating the nature of English language learning in a foundation-year programme in one public university in the United Arab Emirates. The aims of the thesis were based on the need to provide a possible explanation for the significant number of learners achieving low results, or failing their English language courses, in this programme. It was felt that a critical Jungian perspective could help uncover the existence in the Emirati tertiary system of both conscious and unconscious student resistance to English and of, synchronous, discursive forms of linguistic imperialism. This notion was based on findings in the literature, principally in Analytical Psychology, which suggest that the individual psyche is composed of profound and powerful personal and collective unconscious elements as well as critical theory, which maintains that the language classroom cannot be extricated from the influence of surrounding political, or even geopolitical, forces. The thesis sought, through the use of both a critical discourse analysis and critically-oriented case studies, to provide insight into the nature of the dialectical tension believed to exist, in this milieu, between the propagators of the language and those adopting it. The findings provided considerable evidence of a tension operating both at the discursive level and at the psychological level in the use of English in the foundation-year programme. The findings suggested that the discourse presented to learners, from western textbook writers and editors, is heavily Anglo-Saxon in its use of motifs and topics and that there is room, at least on a macrostructural level, to offset this tendency and reconsider the cultural weighting of topical content so as to more appropriately cater to an Arabic and Muslim audience. Also, the primary data revealed that the study’s participants were critical of the use of English as the university’s medium of instruction and there was consensus among them that a significant number of Emirati students, as well as some members of the public, were not receptive to the intrusion of this foreign language into their lives. Critical Discourse Analysis and critical case studies were combined in the shaping of the research methodology and this enabled the researcher to gain an in-depth and qualitative insight into the nature of English propagation and adoption. Key data collected from the research interviews was placed into a Jungian taxonomy and combined with the critical discourse analysis. Upon examination, it provided the researcher with information, supported by relevant literature, that led to a number of recommendations directed, in particular, to language teachers (and publishers) regarding the need to shape discourse to cater to the cultural needs of the learners and to consider the psychological impact that the tertiary English language policy was having on the Arab student body. The thesis strongly maintains that the discursive content of the language materials delivered to such students needs to be more extensively adapted in order to cater to the student body so as to minimize, as much as possible, potential cultural alienation. It also advocates the provision of Jungian psychological counseling in English language programmes because it would encourage policy makers to acknowledge the role of the unconscious in learning as well as provide invaluable support to language learners who are experiencing conscious or unconscious resistance to the English language in such a setting.

O laboratório analítico: a psicologia de C.G. Jung examinada pela teoria do ator-rede / The analytical laboratory: the psychology of C.G. Jung examined by actor-network theory

Henrique de Carvalho Pereira 26 September 2007 (has links)
The Swiss psychiatrist Carl Gustav Jung is one of the leading names of the psychology and psychotherapy of the twentieth century. Some of his major theoretical-methodological contributions are the ideas of the psychic reality, complex, archetype (collective unconscious), individuation process, dialectical method, constructive method and active imagination. Jungs Analytical Psychology, during its formation, was influenced by many disciplines, one of them the ethnology (social sciences). The present work has intended to follow on that process of epistemic construction, by analyzing Jungs conceptions with the Actor-Network Theory (ANT), an important trend of contemporary sociology. This author also wanted to know whether Analytical Psychology is an up-to-date subject or anachronistic theory and clinical practice. The main author connected to the ANT dealt with in the present work is the French sociologist Bruno Latour. From his perspective, the modern settlement, that keeps Nature and Culture apart, is insufficient to clear the complication embedded in the entities that form reality. In order to escape from the conceptual traps of Modernity, Latour operates with constructs such as the collective (social), actor-network, proposition, attachment and plasm. The present work is based on Latours thoughts and, in addition, on Gabriel Tardes sociological ideas and on Tobie Nathans ethnopsychoanalystic influenciology, they all being theoretically alike. Nathan, by developing a practice in psychotherapy, permits us to raise to Jungs clinical psychology certain questions that Latours approach, more strictly sociological, does not allow. After exposing the conceptions of Latour, Tarde and Nathan, the present work pointed out the elements of the Analytical Psychology that, assumedly, were compatible with those conceptions. This author came to see that, notwithstanding the differences, there are many similarities between Analytical Psychology and ANT. It was found out that the Jungs conception of a multifaceted psyche, in becoming, made up by components that relate to each other in different ways, shows to be comparable to the notion of the actor-network developed by Latour, and to Tardes monadology. This author concluded as well that the pragmatic and constructive approach identified in Jungian psychotherapy is in many aspects analogous to the practice of ethnopsychoanalysis. Therefore, it was possible to state that ANT and Analytical Psychology may go along as allies.
