Como resultado, Origens acabou por incorporar temáticas e teses de ambas as teorias.<br> / Abstract : We present an overview of Hannah Arendt's The Origins of Totalitarianism from a  genetic point of view, according to which the complexity of this book is a result of the transformation of Hannah Arendt's thought during its writing, since it involves at least two fundamentally different theories: an initial theory about  race imperialism , main theme of Arendt s original project, and a theory of  totalitarianism , which started to be developed by the author when she was already finishing her earlier project. As result, Origins incorporates thematics and theses from both these theories.

Abstract: This study aimed to develop a proposal for intercultural planning through a didactic sequence directed to the fifth grade of elementary school. Em guarda contra as altas finanças: o pensamento de Gottfried Feder e Gustavo Barroso em perspectiva comparada (1919-1939) / On guard against the high finances: the Thought of Gottfried Feder and Gustavo Barroso on a Comparative Approach (1919-1939)

Lima, Marcelo Alves de Paula 19 June 2017 (has links)
This paper aims at comparing the writings of two ideologues who belonged to two important political movements from the 20th century: one from the Brazilian integralism, and the other from German national-socialism Gustavo Barroso and Gottfried Feder, respectively. After a careful reading of these authors works, written on the 1920es and 1930es, we managed to understand that the concept of financial capital was of main importance for both authors to develop a conspiratorial narrative that uncovered a Jewish plot to conquer the world. Based on the Conceptual History, we noticed that the works of Barroso and Feder represented a key moment in the History of the concept of financial capital, especially considering that both of them wrote during the first financial hegemony. However, while Barroso, on the one hand, thought that the struggle against financial capital should be a universal struggle, Feder, on the other, believed that such struggle should have only the German people as its leading actor. Moreover, while Barroso managed to play a major role in the integralist movement until its ending on 1937, Feder ended up marginalized in the Nazi political scenario after the national-socialist seizure of power on 1933.

Racismo, anti-racismo, nação: estudo sobre a obra de Pierre-André Taguieff / Racism, anti-racism, nation: a study on Pierre-André Taguieff´s contribution to the theory of racism

Diatkine, Manuel 08 May 2017 (has links)
O primeiro capítulo focaliza as fontes, a metodologia história das ideias e história do tempo presente, a historiografia do racismo e do antirracismo , e enfim P.-A. P.-A. / This study answers the following questions: What were the steps that led to the rupture between Pierre-André Taguieff and the French intellectual antiracist Left? To what extent can this split provide us with elements to understand the history of anti-racism in France, in particular in the case of the anti-racism of intellectuals from the seventies to the 2010 decade? The first chapter focuses on the sources, the methodology - the history of ideas and the history of present times, the historiography of racism and anti-racism - and at last, P.-A. Taguieff, the historian of racist ideas, an aspect of his work that will be left aside in the rest of the paper. The 1980 decade is the theme of chapter II. P.-A. Taguieff becomes famous for his analysis of the discourses of the so-called New Right and the National Front. To describe this party, he proposes the national-populist concept. He advances a typical ideal model of confrontation of racism - anti-racism: the differentialist anti-racism would, by way of priority, oppose itself to the universalist racism, and universalist anti-racism to the differentialist racism. Chapter III is about P.-A. Taguieff\'s attempt to consider a republican anti-racism in the 1990 decade, i.e., articulated around the notion of a civic nation, not ethnic. It is this evolution that leads him to break off with the majority of the intellectual political Left. At the end of this decade, he starts deepening his reflection on the notion of progress and progressivism, which we interpret as a reflection about the motives of his own breach with the Left. Chapters IV and V refer to the years after 2000. In chapter IV, we approach the quarrel of the \"new judeophobia\", i.e., the fundamental role played by P.-A. Taguieff in identifying the diffusion of a new judeophobic racism in France. We study the hostile reactions, mostly from Left intellectuals worried about the need of not stigmatizing youth. In chapter V, we evoke the dimensions of the contemporary debate in France around racism and anti-racism. We show that anti-racism ceased to be a coherent intellectual and political universe. On the contrary, it became divided and thus, weakened. This division and weakening contribute to explain - only partly however - the recent electoral evolution in France. Finally, chapter VI, conclusively, interrogates itself synthetically about what evolved or not in P.-A. Taguieff\'s reflection and intellectual production. We conclude, firstly, that P-A. Taguieff remained loyal to a patriotic anti-racist conception, rooted in the tradition of the French republicanism, precisely the tradition that many political and intellectual Left currents intend to leave behind, in the name of multiculturalism, cosmopolitanism and the \"convergence of the fights\"; and secondly, that from the very first texts, their interventions in the public debate aim at defending the plurality of ideas, the condition for the existence of a true public debate sphere.

The everyday life in Germany during the National-Socialist government consisted of a confluence between the conservation of social structures with political radicalism. For the Jews, is added the anti-Semitic persecution with ideological support from the government, which proved to be active in the implementation of their beliefs since the first year in power. Klemperer, considered Jewish by Nazi laws, recorded his experience in this period in his diaries, reporting his routine marked by uncertainty and fear. His narrative demonstrates the effects of oppressive policy on society and the reactions of the application of anti-Semitic measures, from which he suffered directly, and to emphasize how fear coexisted with social normality. Based on the descriptions made, it is pointed how Klemperer tried to understand his context, forming questions and seeking answers using the available information, along with the development of interpretations about social anti-Semitism and popular opinion. Focusing on everyday experience, it is observed how the persecution influenced his perception and contributed to the formation of meaning on the experienced events.

O drama Saul: diálogo como um princípio descentralizador na obra de Vilém Flusser / The drama Saul: dialogue as a descentralizing principle in Vilém Flussers work

Batlickova, Eva 22 April 2019 (has links)
Goethe no jovem praguense. / The thesis examines the very first Vilém Flusser\'s work purposing to search for the roots of his thought as well as to point the features in it that would become relevant in his future creation. It is a theatre play Saul written in German, in 1936, in Prague, his hometown. The first part of my research focuses the environment within which Flusser was born and in which his vision of the world was shaped. We have outlined a brief history of the Jewish community in the Czech lands, we have mentioned local important literary life figures and significant cultural tendencies to understand his particular universe. The biographical part of the research follows Flusser\'s intellectual activities unfolded between Europe and Brazil, and it is closed with a mapping of the critical resources that reveals the reach of his legacy. The second part of the thesis is dedicated to the analysis of the drama Saul and its contextualization within artistic and philosophical movements of that time. In the fields of art, we have identified the proximity, especially, to Expressionism and to Brecht\'s epic theatre; in the area of the thought\'s history, in turn, to thinkers whose work can be considered dialogical and critical in respect of the instrumental thinking. We have approached names as Ortega y Gasset, Martin Buber, Mikhail Bakhtin or Walter Benjamin and we have dwelled also on the principles of the Socratic dialogue. We have recognized a number of common aspects between the thinkers under discussion and the Vilém Flusser\'s work, both as in the drama Saul and as in the further essays. We emphasise mainly the dialogical and non-conclusive character of his texts, his pursuit of the new forms of expression and of an alternative scientific discourse. With that purpose, the thinker built up a number of strategies up, that aim to subvert the rules of the traditional and academic philosophical discourse. For him, a philosophical position is filled with an ethical dimension, it is an instrument of social engagement. We terminate the research with a reflection on the influence of J.W. Goethe\'s Faust on the young Prague citizen. We have pointed out the transformation of the role of the science in the period that separates Goethe\'s and Flusser\'s lives and have demonstrated how the concerns about the reductionism and the instrumentalization of the science became one of the central themes of Flusser\'s works.

A linguagem revela: Victor Klemperer e a vara de equilibrista / The language reveals: Victor Klemperer and the balancer rod.

Lavezo, Juliana Aparecida 16 April 2015 (has links)
The present work tends to comprehend the life of Victor Klemperer (1881 1960) during Nazi Germany and, through his reports, to understand the conditions in which German society was submitted. Philologist by formation, German and assimilated Jewish, converted to Protestantism still young, Victor Klemperer suffered every kind of humiliation during the years of the Nazi polity in Germany. His marriage to Eva Klemperer reaffirmed his germaneness, for Eva was Arian. What he thought to be a passing madness soon became a discouraging and distressful nightmare; constant were the thoughts of death and depression in relation to the everyday living. Everything intensifies when he loses his romanistic chair at the Dresden Technical University and, summed to this, he was also destituted from the associated rights to German citizenship. This work seeks to understand, through his writings, the reality of a Jewish who closely witnessed the atrocities of the Nazi polity. The fonts here analyzed are his diaries written between 1933 and 1945 and his work LTI (Lingua Tertii Imperii) published in the post-war. The peculiarity of his writings is in the fact that Klemperer has not emigrated from Germany during Nazism, in counterpoint to the autobiographic compositions produced in this period.

It goes through the historical exposition of the events and phenomena prior to totalitarianism: the antisemitism due to the emancipation and Jew’s assimilation by the European society; and the colonial and continental imperialism. The first one, serving European countries in search of new consumer markets, develops ways of domination (racism and bureaucracy) serving to the ideology and to the totalitarian government; the second one deals with the rise of national movements, as well as the unfeasibility of protecting human rights against the nation-state. It also shows the differentiation among the totalitarian government and other ways of tyranny and dictatorship by the treatment given to the totalitarian leader, by the action of his secret police, the government unusual structure, the ideology based on History's and/or Nature' laws, the terror as a guarantee of application of these laws and by the concentration camps as an experiment of man’s total domination. It also deals with the human's superfluity promoted in totalitarianism by the death of the juridical person, of the moral person and destruction of the individuality and by the complete ruin of the human content / Este trabalho pretende fazer uma apresentação do totalitarismo e da superfluidade dos homens dele decorrente, desenvolvida por Hannah Arendt, prioritariamente em sua obra “Origens do totalitarismo”.
