Do you mind talking to a chatbot? : A quantitative study about how chatbots affect the digital customer experience within Swedish banks.

Hultman, Anna, Zarki, Mikaela January 2021 (has links)
This bachelor's degree thesis aims to increase the understanding of how chatbots affect the digital customer experience within Swedish banks. Furthermore, this study examines how bank chatbot's technical quality affects the digital customer experience. In this thesis, the authors have chosen to use a deductive approach and a quantitative research strategy. Moreover, the authors used the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) program to process the collected quantitative data from the questionnaires. The thesis empirical findings were analyzed and discussed in correlation to previous research to strengthen the research results. The thesis empirical findings demonstrate that 42.9% of the respondents agreed with the statement; My bank's chatbot technology quality improved my customer satisfaction. Moreover, the correlation analysis showed that customer satisfaction and customer satisfaction linked to technical quality had a strong positive correlation between the concepts. Swedish banks could use the information to develop further their chatbots' technical quality, which would reduce customer service costs and influence how customers visit the bank. The thesis research results can also be applied and used by other industries that want to improve or implement chatbots in their digital business.

The implemenation of a human capital shared services model in the South African banking sector

Swart, Karen 05 1900 (has links)
To cope with constant changes in the economic environment, organizations continuously strive to implement appropriate business models that will contribute to increased productivity, reduced costs and a competitive advantage. Organisations need however to choose among different business models and select the option that offer the greatest potential to improve their service delivery, reducing costs and enable them to focus on their core business. This study conceptualized the shared services business model, by focusing on key factors, such as the rationale for implementing a shared services unit over other business models, establishing the processes followed by the banking industry with the implementation of a human capital shared services model, identifying the advantages versus disadvantages of the implementation of the model and to provide recommendations for the development and implementation of shared services models within specific organisational context. The researcher conducted mixed method research to address the research problem which incorporated both qualitative and quantitative research. In the study research was conducted in three phases. During the first phase exploratory research was conducted, consisting of desk study research and industry reports as well as surveys, periodicals and academic publications.During the second phase qualitative research was conducted, through semi-structured interviews. Findings from this research phase were used during the third phase, which was a quantitative study, whereby information gathered from the interviews informed the design of questionnaires. It is evident from the results that there were many similarities between the analyses of the interviews and questionnaires in relation to the literature review. Many commonalities amongst the three banks were identified during the implementation process and in many instances corroborated statements by key authors during the literature review. Both the interviews and analysis of the questionnaires confirmed cost savings, improved customer services and standardization as benefits of a shared services model. It was concluded that the implementation of a human capital shared services model within the banking sector in South Africa contribute positively to each of the banks used in the sample, both from a cost perspective as improvement of efficiencies. It was further concluded that the processes, systems and people involved in the implementation process are critical to successful implementation. Based on the information gathered the researcher recommends that a project team be appointed from inception to finalization of the implementation of a shared services model, which will be required to deal with the planning phase, feasibility study and the full implementation plan relating to the implementation of the model. In practice, this study will provide shared services managers with insights with regards to the implementation process to be followed for implementing a human capital shared services model. It can also provide valuable insight to management with regard to important or key factors to consider, ensuring the effective implementation of the model. Findings of this study may also be extended to other organizations in South Africa, considering the implementation of the shared services model. / Graduate School for Business Leadership / Thesis (M.B.A.)

La mobilité interne des cadres : l'exemple des établissements de crédit en France et au Maroc / Internal mobility : the case of credit institutions in France and in Morocco

Ajdour, Siham 12 July 2012 (has links)
And one cannot conceive of the latter without taking into account the most strategic component: the human capital. Nowadays, the question on professional mobility within an organization is among those that generate the most interest. Although many a reason could be found, it is more a matter of how to keep a workforce flexible and available to occupy several positions in order to stimulate the rapid evolution of professions and qualifications, without having to lose the most competent employees. This research bears upon the latest works on the topic and proposes to further reflect on the contributing effects brought by the management of human resources onto the development of organizations. The thesis that we will support aims at comparing the stakes in and the limits to the executives’ internal mobility in companies within the banking sector in France and Morocco, and at demonstrating its impacts on their organizational performance

Bankovní efektivnost, riziko a kapitál v zemích Visegrádské čtyřky / Bank Efficiency, Risk, and Capital in the Visegrad Group Countries

Fraňo, Filip January 2015 (has links)
The aim of the thesis is to estimate the cost efficiency of the banks from the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, and Slovakia during 2008-2013 using stochastic frontier analysis. In addition to this, mutual relationships between the changes in banks' cost efficiency, risk- taking, and capital position are examined. First, the literature that is concerned with these relationships is reviewed and the stochastic frontier approach towards the efficiency estimation is outlined. In the empirical analysis, the cost efficiency of the banks from the aforementioned countries is estimated. The results suggest that the Czech and the Polish banks from the sample have the highest average cost efficiency while the Hungarian banks rank the lowest. The estimated efficiency is decreasing during the sample period. No conclusive results are found to support the hypothesis that the larger banks exhibit higher cost efficiency. Subsequently, the system of simultaneous equations is applied to test the mutual relationships between the changes in the banks' cost efficiency, risk-taking, and capital position. The results suggest a negative relationship between the changes in risk-taking and cost efficiency and between the changes in capital position and risk-taking of the banks. Moreover, the results do not indicate simultaneous...

Hållbarhetsredovisning i banksektorn : En undersökning av motiv till hållbarhetsredovisning och lagkravets påverkan / Sustainability accounting within the banking sector : A study on the motives behind sustainability accounting and the influence of legal requirements

Ahmed, Zeineb, Cecavac, Maja January 2019 (has links)
Purpose: The aim of this study is to research what motivates companies in the banking sector to establish sustainability accounting reports, and what these reports can add to a company from a business perspective. The perspective is linked to three different theories: stakeholder theory, legitimacy theory and institutional theory. Furthermore, this study will examine whether the law on sustainability accounting in annual reports, issued in July 2016, has influenced the formation of sustainability accounting reports within the banking sector.Methodology: This essay has a case study design. The research has been conducted on five selected companies within the banking sector. Two different methods of qualitative data collection were used: telephone interviews, and qualitative content analysis on reports prepared between 2015 and 2018.Result: The collected data showed that companies produce sustainability accounting reports because it is natural. The main reasons for establishing a sustainability accounting report are pressure and expectations from stakeholders and the maintenance of legitimacy. Establishing a sustainability accounting report has generated more positive effects than negative, such as internal and external legitimacy and a strong reputation and brand. The study has also shown that the legal requirement that was introduced in July 2016 regarding sustainability accounting has not made a significant impact on the formation of the companies' sustainability accounting reports, besides becoming sharper in all areas covered by the law.Originality/value: The study contributes to an increased understanding of what motivates companies within the banking sector to engage in sustainability accounting and what it has subsequently added to companies. It has also contributed to a deeper understanding of the legal requirements introduced in July 2016 as a new phenomenon. The law is relatively new and therefore much research has not been done in the area of how the legal requirements have actually affected companies.
