Pfützenreuter, Filipe Marchioro January 2014 (has links)
Tese (doutorado) - Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina, Centro de Comunicação e Expressão, Programa de Pós-Graduação em Literatura, Florianópolis, 2014. / Made available in DSpace on 2015-02-05T20:59:37Z (GMT). The historical confront between the goodness and the badness is frequently explored by the works of the Children´s Literature. In the history of the western world, which is strongly influenced by the Christianism, this conflict is often related to a battle between God and Devil by the popular imagination. In this case, these two characters are supposed to represent two antagonistic realities. If among Christians the Devil has been recognized as the commissary of the badness; in the Literature, it has not always happened the same way. The presence of this character also in works of the Children´s Literature, the fact of these works have historically explored the instrumental-pedagogical dimension of the Literature and the lack of studies focusing on the Devil as a character of this context were the factors that motivated the present thesis. Considering this, its objective was to analyze the composition of the character of the Devil in the classical tales of Grimm brothers, which were extracted from the compilation Contos Maravilhosos infantis e domésticos (1812-1815), and also to find out the impacts that the way this character is built promotes to the children-readers. Facing this objective, it was concluded that the Devil by the Grimm brothers is not a well defined or a previously defined character ? as the Christian archetype is ? and, unlike it is thought for the literary production of that period, the Devil by the Grimm brothers is not used to create an instrumental-pedagogical Literature, not even to sustain the Christian dogma. That is the thesis which is aimed to sustain here. As a line of research, it was chosen the Theopoetics, by Karl-Josef Kuschel, which deals with comparative studies between Theology and Literature. Inside the Theopoetics, this research focused on two of the five areas of study according to the definition by Antonio Carlos Magalhães: 1st) the one which explores the religious aspects of literary works, even when they have been written by atheist authors; 2nd) the one which explores the presence of religion in Literature. The bibliography was chosen considering three needs of the research: 1st) to understand Theopoetics as a line of research; 2nd) to understand the Devil as a character who does not belong to the institutionalized religious exclusively; 3rd) to understand the literature which is called ?Children´s Literature?. Considering this, it can be enhanced the following authors: from the Theopoetics, Kuschel and Northrop Frye; from the studies about the Devil, Alberto Cousté and Giovanni Papini; from the Literature, Maria Antonieta Antunes Cunha and Nelly Novaes Coelho.

The purpose of this speech of mastership is to research the Nietzsche‟s critical to Europe of his time, starting by taking an overview about the “Beyond Good and Evil” work. At the first step, I research the way that the German philosopher considers that the Europe lived in a general weakness condition that shows itself into the philosophy, religion, art, political and go on, among all cultural predominant components. At the second step, I seeking where these weaknesses come from, they are find in the historic and philosophy process the has the man of “modern ideas” as its main representative, a kind of weak and degenerated man that speeded out for all Europe. At the third step, beginning by critical realized by the philosopher to his age, I analyze the Nietzsche‟s aim to overcome this cultural wreaking condition that is to prepare the way to a new Europe, a strong and high , the Europe of the future. I even analyze, from the Nietzsche‟s perspective, the necessity of a dangerous work, that is to culture this kind of European, that even in a weak condition, have the strong and capacity necessary to create new values, and starting from these values, to legislate over all Europe. I try to conclude that this kind of man is the legislator philosopher, “the good European” and with” free spirit” that have the duty to high the European culture, and with this, to anticipate in an experiment way, the Europe and the European of the future.

_____________________________________________________________________________________ ABSTRACT / Plotinus establishes as the last end of human existence the unification of the soul with the transcendent principle of all beings: the One, or the Good. The aim of this dissertation is to investigate in what sense internalization is the way that allows the realization of the return to transcendence. According to Plotinus, this is only possible by virtue of the presence of the One in the soul, considered as its center and original nature. Self-knowledge is indispensable in this process, for it allows that the soul know its origin, its bond with the principle and the cause of the evil that affects it. The way of ascent to the principle must be pursued in two stages: from the sensible to the intelligible, and from the intelligible to the One. There are three candidates able to pursue it: the musician, the lover and the philosopher. The return to the intelligible can be accomplished by means of the contemplation of beauty, the practice of the virtues and the exercise of dialectic. Unification with the One requires the overcoming of all intelligible determination by means of abstraction, and allows that the soul surpass its limits and coincide with the presence of the One.

Therefore, will be used as a resource the query of two movies and two theological excerpts that can contribute to this debate. The chosen films are ?Melancholia? and ?Antichrist?, of Lars Von Trier. Under the theological point of view, will seek inspiration in the final phrase of the Our Father (prayer): ?deliver us from evil?; and in the stretch of the Saint Paul?s Letter to the Romans (Rm 7,19): ?For I do not do the good I want, but the evil I do not want is what I keep on doing.?.

With the objective of understanding how such images were embedded in both modern and postmodern imaginaries, this study is grounded on the philosophical conception of evil, as means of understanding its both complexity and adaptability. In order to proceed the necessary investigations and obtain outcomes that could prove this thesis, the depth hermeneutics of John B. Thompson (1995) was employed as an effective path. This methodology enabled the analyses of the images as symbolic forms, and, from formal-discursive and socio-historical analyses, it was possible to develop an interpretation/re-interpretation of the subject matter. Therefore, the purpose of this thesis is fullfilled, as its results shows that visual representations of evil are subjected to the imaginary accordingly to the period in time. During modernity, they carried a strong load of morality; in postmodernity, they are influenced by a less determinist way of life, causing a proximity between the concepts of good and evil.

Silva, Carina Zanelato. January 2019 (has links)
(Resumo completo, clicar acesso eletrônico abaixo) / Abstract: Recent researches on the Heinrich von Kleist's literary works (1777-1811) recovered the author's famous "Kant crisis" as a factor of great relevance in the study of his literary universe. Tim Mehigan, for example, in his book Heinrich von Kleist: writing after Kant (2011) presents a new facet of interpretation of this crisis by considering it as the starting point for Kleist's development as a great contributor to post- Kantian philosophy, because his letters (from 1800), essays and literary works reflect the clash between Kant's theory of knowledge and the limits to which self-consciousness can arrive at the apprehension of the data of empirical reality. Kleist's work, from this point of view, can be understood as "post-Kantian" in that as long as it goes beyond the Kantian school and discusses new cultural, aesthetic and philosophical issues opened by Kant himself. These conclusions allow us to advance the discussion undertaken by these researchers towards an approach of a frequent theme in Kleist's works: a break in the boundaries between the concepts of badness (Das Böse) and goodness (Das Gute) developed during the Aufklärung. This break seems to us to be strongly associated with a subversion of the concept of reality drawn out by Kleist from the Kantian notion of apprehension of reality by reason and the very characteristic skepticism of Hume's philosophy. Therefore, in this research, we will attempt to demonstrate what this break of the limits between good and evil con... (Complete abstract click electronic access below) / Doutor

This thesis about the Visigoth kingdom makes use of a genre of sources, the hagiography, as a starting point for the proposed approach. These sources show us an testimony of the imaginary in their imbrications with the sacred, that is, with Christianity, and the limits of the Catholic Christianization; religious syncretism between Christian faith and called beliefs pagan by the Church itself; and, within that scope, the representations of evil and ethics related to such perceptions as elements of medieval religiosity - present in the visigothic culture - which, despite extensive studies conducted until the present moment, require new approaches. Generally speaking, we propose to analyze the perception of evil and its representations in the long duration, the role and intentions of theologians and hagiographers, paying special attention to religiosity and its implications in the imaginary.

Nascentes, Zama Caixeta January 2004 (has links)

This thesis about the Visigoth kingdom makes use of a genre of sources, the hagiography, as a starting point for the proposed approach. These sources show us an testimony of the imaginary in their imbrications with the sacred, that is, with Christianity, and the limits of the Catholic Christianization; religious syncretism between Christian faith and called beliefs "pagan" by the Church itself; and, within that scope, the representations of evil and ethics related to such perceptions as elements of medieval religiosity - present in the visigothic culture - which, despite extensive studies conducted until the present moment, require new approaches. Generally speaking, we propose to analyze the perception of evil and its representations in the long duration, the role and intentions of theologians and hagiographers, paying special attention to religiosity and its implications in the imaginary. As the main sources of our research, which are part of the Visigoth hagiographic corpus, are: Saint Emilian Life (Vita Sancti Aemiliani) of Braulio of Zaragoza; The Lives of the Saint Fathers of Merida (Vitas Sanctorum Patrum Emeretensium) and The Life of Saint Frutuoso (Vita Fructuosi) of unknown authors; The Life of St. Desiderius (Vita Desiderii), written by Sisebuto, and the autobiography of Valerius of Bierzo / Doutor
