Gramática tanimuka, una lengua de la Amazonía colombiana / Grammaire de la langue tanimuka, Amazonie colombienne / Grammar of the Tanimuka language, Colombian Amazon

Eraso, Natalia 27 May 2015 (has links)
This grammar of Tanimuka, a Tucanoan language of the Colombian Amazonian area, is organized in four parts. The first part, ‘Tanimuka : the language and its speakers’, is divided into three chapters (1 to 3), which establish the sociolinguistic profile of the language and describe the fieldwork conditions. The second part, divided into two chapters (5 and 6), presents a description of the phonology and morphophonology of the language, with a study of the phenomenon of syllabic epenthesis in the verb. The third part (chapters 7 and 8) begins with a general study of the morphosyntactic and syntactic levels, followed by an in-depth study of the noun classification systems: gender and numeral classifier. The fourth part (chapters 9 to 11) focuses on the expression of space, omnipresent in the language. The first chapter presents an inventory of all the elements that express the domain of space in the language. The second provides a detailed analysis of postures and positional verbs in basic locative construction of simple or complex predicates (serial verb constructions). The final chapter is dedicated to the study of the expression of the Trajectory category. The dissertation ends with three annexes, which present, in turn, the visual stimuli created for the investigation of locative verbs of posture and position, a study of the traditional system of numeration and the transcription of a history of oral tradition: 'The tortoise Parekika', glossed and translated.

Enhet eller mångfald? : En dekonstruktion av samernas biblioteks bibliotekskatalog / Unity or Diversity? : A Deconstruction of the Saami Library Catalogue

Holmquist, Jenny January 2020 (has links)
Introduction. This thesis is set in the field of critical knowledge organization and indigenous knowledge organi- zation. Building on the theory of domain analysis I chose the Saami Library in Sweden as the domain for this thesis. The purpose was to identify the structures of power affecting how the lives and experiences of the Saami people are represented in the library catalogue and in the classification systems used, and to examine the views on knowledge expressed in the classification systems. Theory and method. This thesis builds upon the writings on deconstruction. I seek to deconstruct the cata- logue and the classification system using tools derived from the writings of Jacques Derrida. Analysis. Nine posts from the catalogue, and the classification codes entered there were analysed. Emphasis was put on analysing the DDC classification as this is the primary classification system used. Results. From analysing the classifications and the catalogue posts I found that the representations of the Saami experiences varied depending on which subject class the book belonged to. A majority of the posts analysed were classified as social sciences in DDC whereas the classifications were more varied in the Swedish SAB- system. Conclusion. Two structures have been identified. The first structure places the Saami experiences as some- thing that is other, in relation to which the mainstream is defined. The second structure places the Saami experi- ences as part of a diversity, separate from the unity of the mainstream society. This structure only acknowledges the existence of diversity if this means that the position of the unity is strengthened. Concerning the second purpose of the thesis I find that a western knowledge perspective has got a hegemonic position in the DDC, which means that other knowledge systems such as indigenous knowledge is not seen as such but as something only related to a specific group. This is a two years master’s thesis in Library and Information Science.

From Branch to Branch : Tree Structures and Direct Links in Online Book Shops and Library Systems and How These Affect the Availability of LGBT Literature

Persson, Lina January 2012 (has links)
What this investigation has tried to find out is how easily availabie LGBT literature is in the systems that are used by private companies and the public sector - online book shops and library catalogues available online (OPACs). This entailed a number of more practical underlying factors regarding the design of the tree structure, what kind of language is used and how easy it is to understand, whether or not there are special categories for LGBT-related literature and whether or not there are direct links between literature with LGBT content. The systems investigated were the online book shops Amazon (both the American version and the British subsidiary), The Book Depository and Adlibris along with the classification systems used by the national libraries in the countries where these book shops reside (the US, the UK and Sweden): Library of Congress Classification (LC), Dewey Decimal Classification (DDC) and Klassifikationssystem för svenska bibliotek (SAB). Two of the library systems (LC and DDC) did not have a tree structure available for the customers to see and navigate through, while the third one (SAB) offered a structure with both the classification code and Swedish words explaining what the codes meant, even if the categories and subdivisions were not optimally constructed. None of them had very many links to other literature. Two of them (The Book Depository and Adlibris) did not have main categories specifically for LGBT content which both Amazon US and Amazon UK did. All the library systems could use a revision to ensure that literature, and particularly LGBT literature as that was the focal point of this investigation, is easily available. The Library of Congress and the British Library need to establish a tree structure their clients could use and all three need to make sure they have a category where LGBT literature is collected and available at the root. The online book shops on the other hand do not need to do much to improve the availability of their systems: like the library systems, Adlibris and The Book Shop need to create a category of LGBT literature in the tree structure but besides that the private companies pass with credit. The systems used by the Amazon branches proved to have the greatest availability of all the systems investigated.

Development of a classification scheme for Islam

Idrees, Haroon 15 June 2012 (has links)
The Libraries that have rich collections on Islam are facing the problems of knowledge organization while classifying materials on Islam. This is because the standard classification systems like Dewey Decimal Classification, Library of Congress Classification, Universal Decimal Classification, Bliss Classification, and Colon Classification, which are used by a huge number of libraries, have not provided with sufficient place and proper enumeration or hierarchy for Islamic knowledge. Subsequently, different alternative solutions have been sorted by scholars and opted by these libraries. These solutions include expansions made in standard clas-sification systems with different approaches and indigenous classification systems for Islam. Despite these solutions, the libraries had problems and were not satisfied. This study has addressed this problem, reviewing litera-ture on the problem and collecting empirical data from relevant libraries and scholars of Library and Information Science (LIS) from nine different countries of the world, using interviewing as data collection instrument. Findings of literature and empirical data confirmed the existence of prob-lem and dissatisfaction of libraries. Consequently, the optimal solution in-dicated in literature and by researched population has been brought for-ward in this research, i.e., development of an independent and comprehensive classification system for Islamic knowledge. This system has been got verified by the scholars of LIS and of Islamic Studies.

Role sestry ve screeningu deprese u seniorů. / Role of the nurse in screening for depression in the elderly.

VRZALOVÁ, Monika January 2016 (has links)
The diploma thesis deals with problems of depression in older people. Mainly the work is focused on identifying and analyzing the role of nurses in screening for depression in older people in primary care, acute care, long-term care and home care. This thesis was focused on theoretical direction and was used the method of design and demonstration. In this thesis was set one main goals with five research questions. The main goal was to identify and analyze the role of nurses in screening for depression in the elderly. RQ 1: What is the role of the nurse in screening for depression in the elderly? RQ 2: What is the role of the nurse in the primary care in screening for depression in the elderly? RQ 3: What is the role of the nurse in screening for depression in hospitalized patients in acute care? RQ 4: What is the role of the nurse in screening for depression in seniors in long-term and home care? RQ 5: What rating scales and methods are used in screening for depression in the elderly? The thesis introduce the concept of depression. The following are specified the causes of and the important factors that affect depression in the elderly. It also deals the differences in the clinical symptomatology of depression in old age. It explains possibilities and various barriers in the diagnosis of depression. Another chapter introduces complete geriatric examination, diagnostic classification systems, possible screening methods and scales for detection of depression in the elderly population. It also deals methods of pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatment and its possible complications associated with older age. By reason of increased suicide rate caused by depressive disorder the issue of suicidal behavior in the elderly is introduced. The next chapter deals with the nursing process, which is used by nurses in practice. It consists of the evaluation of the patient's health condition, making nursing diagnosis, creating nursing plan and subsequent implementation and evaluation. The nursing process is also needy for providing quality care. The nursing process in the stage of nursing diagnosis, introduces possible nursing diagnosis for a patient suffering from depression, which are based on the latest classification. Finally is described the role of nurses in screening for depression in the elderly in different health facilities and their contribution to the timely evaluation of depression in the elderly. This chapter introduces the role of nurses, nursing screening and collaboration with a physician. The role of nurses in screening for depression in different medical facilities is based on the first phase of the nursing process of assessment. On the basis of objective and subjective information, the nurse will assess the overall health and mental condition of the patient. Primarily, it was investigated what is the role of the nurse in screening for depression. On the basis of content analysis and synthesis it was necessary to used and processed domestic and foreign literature. A number of relevant sources are the results of various studies and Meta-analyzes, mostly from abroad, but also from the Czech Republic. The thesis can serve as a basis for nurses. The result of this thesis is to create e-learning material available for students in the Faculty of Health and Social Sciences of South Bohemia in Ceske Budejovice in the tutorial called Moodle.
