A Study of Manpower Dispatched Model

Wang, Li-Jung 07 February 2006 (has links)
This study is based on human resources management to discuss the operating model of dispatched enterprises which includes the influences of cross-organizational collaboration between the internal part and external environment on operating performance. Due to the studies of discussing operating model of dispatched industry were quite limited in the past, this study founds on human resources management, supply-chain management, cross-organizational recreation and cooperative relationships adopting qualitative case study research method. Taking U company which belongs to China Steel Company group for example, collates data and analyzes the subordinative relationships between dispatched agency, dispatched workers and dispatched enterprises and the real operating condition of the industry to construct a operating model which could improve the image of dispatched industry. The result findings are as follows: 1.The operating model of the dispatched industry should control the expected financial target first to be the index of analyzing external environment risks and opportunities and estimating the reaction ability of the company. 2.The operating model is not invariable. It is a dynamic system. It will not find the right direction until proceeding reciprocation procedures many times even continuing. 3.To increase operating performances, dispatched enterprises usually keep different level of cross-organizational collaborative relationships with dispatched agencies. Dispatched enterprises consider that keeping good relationships could improve management efficient and have positive effect to operating performance. 4.By sharing related information, participating in the enterprise internal activities, building up coordinate system and developing mutual values, dispatched enterprises and dispatched agencies not only decrease costs, but increase revenues. 5.The innovation of operating model and transformation of management thought subvert the traditional two-way relationships between employer and employee. The irresistible developing situation of dispatched industry pushes the government to accelerate legislation to be taken as the base for the dispatched industry. The study results could supply for dispatched industry as empirical application consultation and bring up for government legislating for labor dispatched law on the subject of protecting rights of dispatched workers, increasing dispatched job opportunities and developing potential labor force.

The role of collaborative relationships in implementing traceability in supply chain networks : A network analysis of the textile and clothing industry

Buse, Anina Maria January 2020 (has links)
Purpose – The complexity and resulting opacity of TC supply chains, and the fragmentation of approaches to traceability to address these issues, revealed the necessity of collaboration for traceability in TC supply chains. Although the challenges have been explored in literature and practice, it has been left unstudied how collaboration can overcome these challenges. Further, current literature is limited to focus on buyer-supplier relationships rather than the inclusion of external supply chain (SC) actors despite their important role in the implementation of SC traceability. Acknowledging the need for broadening the perspective from dyad to network level, the purpose of this study is to examine collaborative relationships for implementing traceability in the extended TC supply chain network, and thus identify collaborative challenges and possible improvement opportunities. Design/methodology/approach – This research was based on a multiple case study method of three relationship types considering primary data from semi-structured interviews and documentary secondary data related to the studied organizations. While embracing an abductive approach by extending the AARI framework by Welch and Wilkinson (2002) to the context of traceability in TC supply chains, the data analysis followed the Grounded Theory methodology of open, axial and selective coding. The findings of the dyadic relationships were discussed by their substance layers and cross-case comparison. Findings – Through the extended model, the findings shed light on the role of collaborative relationships in the implementation of SC traceability and their interconnectedness on the network level. Based on developing preconditions for dyadic relationships, deductions for the network level could be made. Further, the essential role of external SC actors for the implementation of traceability in the TC supply chain network indicated the necessity of considering collaboration with the extended network. Consequently, possible improvement opportunities for implementing traceability through better collaborative relationships in the extended TC supply chain network could be detected. Originality/Value – This study adds to the theory of network relationships and literature of traceability in TC supply chains by focusing on collaboration in the extended network. It creates new insights by including the ideological dimension. By considering possible chain dependencies of relationships and the interrelation of schema couplings with resource ties and activity links, it can offer practitioners a better understanding of the network behavior and possible challenges in relationships. The proposed set of preconditions can provide inspiration and a change in perspective for successfully collaborating to implement traceability in TC supply chain networks.

Evaluating Collaborative Relationships Between K-12 Public and Private Day Schools in Virginia

Mazurek, Bethany Christine 19 March 2020 (has links)
This study is an evaluation of collaborative relationships between K-12 public and private day schools in Virginia when serving students with special needs. Research on the conditions and barriers of collaborative relationships in the educational setting is mostly centered around the dynamic between general education teachers and special education teachers when serving students with special needs. The purpose of the study was to determine the main factors that differ between collaborative relationships that are perceived as strong to those perceived as weak. The study is guided by two research questions: (1) What factors contribute to strong collaborative relationships between K-12 public and private day schools in Virginia? (2) What factors are identified as areas of concern regarding weaker collaborative relationships between K-12 public and private day schools in Virginia. The literature review explores prior research on educational collaboration while methodology addresses the research design and study procedures. Participants were 43 public school special education directors and private day school administrators across the Commonwealth of Virginia. Demographic information was provided by all participants. An online inventory was completed by those participants who had worked with a minimum of two of the opposite provider; special education directors in the public school setting were required to work with two private day schools and vice versa. Responses were recorded from each of the eight regions delineated by the Virginia Department of Education (VDOE, n.d.). Statistical analysis did not reveal any statistically significant differences between the two groups of participants. However, results of the study indicated strengths related to the factors of membership characteristics and purpose for strong relationships. When evaluating a weak collaborative relationship, the factors of process and structure, communication and resources were the primary areas of concern. Regardless of the strength of the collaborative relationship, the resource factor was the lowest scoring factor, indicating it was the primary concern regarding collaborative relationships. This study adds to the field of special education by applying the existing research to the relationship between K-12 public and private day schools when serving students with special needs along the continuum of services. / Doctor of Education / This study evaluated the collaborative relationship between public and private day schools in Virginia when serving students with special needs. Building Collaborative Relationships for a Sustainable Finance System

Bergman, Jenny, Knudsen, Cristina, Seely, Kate January 2014 (has links)
Society today faces unprecedented social and environmental challenges that are both complex in nature and require immediate and severe action. The financial system is a complex system that has an important impact on the sustainable development of society. Currently, however, the role of the finance system in sustainability is ambivalent, as it invests both in the causes of the sustainability challenge as well as its potential solutions. As the finance system is a complex system collaboration is needed to make change possible. Relationships are a key component of collaboration, and this research looks closer at how relationship building can enable effective collaboration aimed at finance systems change. Research draws on Literature, and a case study of the Finance Innovation Lab including 19 qualitative interviews. In order to build collaborative relationships for a sustainable finance system the results point to: 1) the importance of the individual being present in the initiative rather than the organization they represent, and the importance of connecting on personal level; 2) the complexity of relationship building, with different processes and key elements interrelating; and 3) collaborative relationships being only one part of systemic transformation, requiring also a diversity of people and a clear structure and common strategy to be effective in achieving their goals.

A critical appraisal of collaborative partnerships between business and NGOs in post-conflict settings in Africa

Makan-Lakha, Pravina 23 February 2013 (has links)
Collaborative relationships between business and non-governmental organisations (NGOs), is offering innovative business practices, as a new and emerging concept. The potential of this phenomenon to offer market-orientated solutions to the social and developmental challenges confronting us globally is imminent. The significance of this concept for businesses in post-conflict settings in Africa is particularly relevant for Africa as the next growth market. Critically examining this evolving concept, this study looks at the perceptions and nature of collaborative relationships between business and NGOs in post-conflict settings, the contributory and inhibiting factors, as well as its characteristics towards closing the gap in knowledge.Twenty leaders of businesses and NGOs in Burundi, Sierra Leone and Liberia, involved in collaborative relationships, were interviewed. The concept was scrutinized in a qualitative study, using in-depth interviewing with qualitative and quantitative data collection methods. The methodology allowed innovative practices of collaborative relationships in post-conflict countries to be reflected on.The findings related to the embryonic and evolving nature of collaborative relationships between businesses and NGOs in post-conflict countries reflect a model of innovative cases for enhancing business processes. The model of Business Process Enhancement (BPE) is conceptualised from the results of this study. Concomitantly, the study presents new insights into the strategic potential of collaborative relationships and offers both business and NGOs in post-conflict countries a framework of the benefits, and the contributory and inhibiting factors. / Dissertation (MBA)--University of Pretoria, 2012. / Gordon Institute of Business Science (GIBS) / unrestricted

The processes of identifying the best suppliers for a new product or service or even to evaluate the performance of an existing supplier are essential tasks in managing the supply chain, in order to enable that the collaborative process occurs in an efficient manner. The supplier selection problem (SSP) fits the multicriteria context due to involve several qualitative and quantitative criteria in the decision making process. So, the main objective of this research is to propose a model of multiple criteria decision aid for suppliers sorting in levels of collaboration in supply chain management, using ELECTRE TRI method. Several studies have approached the supplier selection problem in multicriteria context. Most of these studies address the choice and ranking problems and specific methods are proposed for this purpose. However, the sorting problem is not much explored, and in addition, there are few studies that specifically address the subject of collaboration with suppliers considering multicriteria context. Whereas in most cases, in several business segments, companies have at their base, suppliers with different features and degrees of performance, it becomes necessary to decide at what level to collaborate with each type of supplier. Thus, using the proposed model makes it possible to manage suppliers, considering their differentiation in terms of performance, sorting them into appropriate levels of collaboration in order to facilitate the adoption of different strategies with each category. Moreover, with the use of this model, it is possible that the decision in this context occurs in a systematic manner and, considering the repetitive nature of this problem, the proposed model constitutes a useful tool for decision aid. This tool can be used periodically in accordance with the needs of the decision maker in order to provide feedback of the evaluation to suppliers, monitoring the performance in the defined criteria set and, reviewing the strategy adopted if necessary.

No. of bitstreams: 1 Ramon Silva Leite.pdf: 1012552 bytes, checksum: b3d09d4e52a7267b02a8d3f6b152290c (MD5) Previous issue date: 2009-04-27 / Fundo Mackenzie de Pesquisa / The Vertical Collaborative Relationship has been a way encountered by companies to act cohesively and to get mutual benefits. Accordingly, this study aimed to examine the collaborative relationship and its impact on businesses performance, focusing on the footwear s industry array of production of Nova Serrana (MG) and its suppliers. In order to analyze it, a descriptive research was done about the transaction cost theory and also about the main conceptions and contributions about chain companies, productive arrangements and cooperation. Later this descriptive research, an extensive fieldwork was carried out, divided into two stages. The first one, based on an exploratory character, was composed of 24 interviews: 14 with footwear manufacturers and 10 with their main suppliers. This stage aimed to study the phenomenon in a greater depth, to gain familiarity with the analyzed object and to refine the patterns used in other studies addressed to the reality of the footwear s sector. The obtained data on this stage, concerned by the content analysis' methodology technique, revealed that: a) communication, adaptation, commitment, dependence and trust are important for collaborative relationship; b) small companies remain relations considered relations of market, contributing to higher transaction costs; and c) medium and major companies prefer higher collaborative relationships in order to reduce transaction costs, as well as costs of new products` development. The research s second stage, descriptive in nature, had four main objectives: 1st) to identify the predominant variables in the relationship between manufacturers and suppliers from both perspectives; 2nd) to validate and operationalize the keys identified as their connection s constructs; 3rd) to verify if some firms characteristics are associated to better performances, and 4th) to compare suppliers and manufacturers point of view about their relationship. This stage had two data collections. The first one involved 211 manufacturers, while the second involved a sample of 87 suppliers. The gathered data underwent several tests, including the Structural Equation Modeling and CHAID s (Chi-Square Automatic Interaction Detection) technique of segmentation. The results proved that: a) the major variables for the collaborative relationship differ from manufactures to suppliers for the sample of manufactures, communication and commitment influence the relationship significantly, while for the sample of suppliers trust and commitment were considered the most important; b) the patterns that composed the final model, right after some adjusts, reached acceptable values of validity and trustworthiness; c) footwear manufactures with certain characteristics, such as type of shoe produced and capacity, obtain better performance than its competitors; and d) there are significant divergences between manufactures and suppliers` views about relationship. Before the obtained results, it follows that there is a significant relation between collaboration and performance. Thus, the way companies deal with their partners leads them to better results. Moreover, the collaborative relationships benefits are greater for the suppliers. For manufacturers, it is interesting to develop collaborative relationships with their most important suppliers, while standard market relations may be more appropriate to the less strategic partners. Finally, it is suggested that future studies concern other variables and include larger samples.
