Influência das TIC na dinâmica cultural e política de comunidades / Influence of the ICT (Information and Communication Technologies) on the cultural and political development of communitiesSá Filho, Carlos Alberto Cordeiro de 25 October 2006 (has links)
By means of bibliographical research and analysis of practical experience accounts, this work deals with the emergence of the information and communication technologies diffusion and the establishment of new paradigms for human organizations and activities. The work points out that the classical concept of community, which determines the groups formed by individuals within the same physical territory and linked by bonds of sociability and by common feelings and interests, has been remodeled. This phenomenon seems to take place especially under the influence of the acceleration of communicational processes of share of the codes belonging to the cultural patrimonies characteristic of communities which can, nowadays, occur inside or outside a common physical territory or even in virtual environments, which broadens the groups reach and geographical fragmentation and enables the existence of local, widened and virtual communities. At the same time, this work discusses that the problem of social exclusion shows that the same set of tools and technological options which may be used for group promotion and cohesion, may result in increased opportunity discrepancy and inequality between included and excluded community members. In this direction, the work states that issues regarding digital inclusion and the generation of network organization culture are directly connected to the effective implementation of the democracy, citizenship and popular sovereignty trinomial, and to the conquest and maintenance of rights which ensure human promotion and community autonomy. While discussing the ICT and the necessity for digital inclusion, the work seeks to present an ideal classification for communities, according to their level of involvement and deepening into knowledge, use and manipulation of those for their development. The work concludes that an option is necessary for established actions as integrated and universalizing public policies which develop from the active and constant participation of the communities so that digital inclusion may promote social inclusion and establish itself as a right for the participative construction of the ubiquitous, critical and solidary path for the reception and transmission of information and knowledge among communities.

Tecnologias para a difusão de conhecimentos em saúde na era da informação: a arte de transformar educação, pesquisa e assistência em um hospital universitário / Technologies for the diffusion of knowledge in health in the information age: the art of transforming education, research and assistance in a university hospitalSilva, Marcos Roberto Pereira 04 November 2016 (has links)
Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) have evolved exponentially over the past few years and combined that with the easy access to the internet ICTs have caused major changes in the way society communicates and relates. That evolution has been felt in different fields of society. ICTs reached classrooms, offices and hospitals. People can now connect over the Internet, forming large global networks creating what we know as the \"Information and Knowledge Society\", where the information holder has power. Through communities, knowledge began to be built collectively, creating \" Collective intelligence \". The present work reflects this context and its consequences for healthcare. Thus this work presents the issues and alternatives involving knowledge about healthcare, internet and people. This work also presents ways to search for healthcare information on the Internet, initiatives that contribute to this topic and tools to support the creation and delivery of knowledge about health on the Internet. In this context, we seek to submit a work proposal to the HCFMRP- USP involving knowledge management, a methodology aimed primarily manage, create and provide the institutional knowledge and technology information and communication tools.

Nowadays, entrepreneurship emphasizes the use of technological tools to achieve their strategic objectives and be competitive in the market. In this context, it is imperative to consider the insertion of ICTs in organizational processes because we know the competitive advantages that this implies, however, it is important to consider that in the implementation of an information system many factors intervene, being one of the main the human factor. This is how this research aims to analyze the impact of ICTs on the satisfaction of the internal client (collaborator) and the external client in a specific area such as the companies that provide dental services in our country, as this health sector in the Peru has been growing rapidly, especially specialized medical services that grew by 20% to 2018 (MINSA, 2018). The technique that was used was the survey, Likert type, and the research design is descriptive, causal correlational, with a quantitative approach. The population consisted of 125 collaborators of a dental clinic and 300 clients in the dental clinics, which were chosen randomly according to specific inclusion criteria.
Finally, it is concluded that ICT have a significant impact on internal and external client satisfaction in dental companies in Metropolitan Lima and Callao. The correlation of Spearman 0.696 has a positive sign, therefore, it can be affirmed that the relationship is direct; that is, the higher the ICT score, the higher the satisfaction score. / Tesis

The purpose of this paper is to gain insight into how efficient the computer is in support of the pupils literacy learning. Will there be a difference in literacy learning if i compare the pupils who use computers as an aid in relation to those pupils who are educated by synthetic method? Have the puplis felt affected in some way when having the computer as an aid in literacy learning? I have chosen to do a qualitative study with quantitative data. I have observed and interviewed pupils using the Trageton strategy. The interviews were based on a number of key issues. The quantitative data is based on my study that includes a reading development schedule, LUS.

The results obtained show that pupils who have worked with Trageton strategy are more motivated to read and write than those pupils who have learned to read and write by the traditional method. Most pupils who were interviewed said that it was easier to write on the computer than with pen because they were tired of holding the pen and form letters. They also experienced that it became neat and was easier to read than handwritten text, which strengthen their self-confidence.

Civil Society 2.0 : Conceptualizing the idea of aNylund, Jesper January 2007 (has links)

The purpose of this thesis is to conceptualize the idea of a “digital civil society”. During the latest half-century, technological developments in the areas of information and communication have been increasingly ingrained in everyday-life of many people. Not surprisingly, politics have also been affected by these developments. The concept of a global civil society is getting increasingly fashionable, and it is my belief that this global civil society in many ways is related to the technological developments manifested in the digital revolution. From this point of departure, it is my intent to depict the idea of a digital civil society within a conceptual framework substantiated by a number of cases of collective action where the use of information and communication technologies (ICT) has been instrumental. By doing this, my intention is to see if, and how, the ICT revolution is altering civil society organization, mobilization, advocacy and action.

The essay has five parts. First, there is a brief introduction of the subject where the main research issues are put forward. The second part describes the methodology and defines the central concepts; global civil society, globalization and the ICT revolution. This framework, elaborated more thoroughly in part three, will serve as both goal and means for the research as it constitutes the research method as well as a potential basis for further research in the area. In part four, a number of cases of civil society collective action are portrayed and analyzed in connection to the conceptual framework. In some of these cases, ICT is used as a way to support and supplement more traditional “offline” collective action whereas in the second part of this chapter, cases of more pure “online action” are described. With the features and characteristics of these case studies in mind, the aim is to identify tendencies supporting the idea of a possibly emerging digital civil society. In the last chapter, there is a discussion concerning the potential characteristics and outcomes of such a digital civil society. I also present a model describing the logic of the conceptual framework and the processes and concepts which are central to this study.

My conclusions are meant to create an environment conducive to further research on the subjects I have studied. First, it appears as if the logic of “networking” as power structure within civil society is favourable for organization, participation, communication, mobilization and action. As such, the networked, dynamic and horizontal character of the Internet seems to influence the organizational character of many civil society entities. Secondly, the Internet’s ability to allow for many-to-many communication seems to contribute to a broader and more inclusive way to debate issues of all kinds. Thirdly, ICT in some ways appears to “individualize” collective action, a development possibly related to the individual and isolating character of Internet use itself and the relative anonymity which can be enjoyed online. In sum, these findings suggest that the idea of a digital civil society broadens the base of collective action and, to some extent, reduces the costs of participation.

Designing technologies to support migrants and refugeesBrown, Deana 21 September 2015 (has links)
Families migrate to improve their outcomes, however the process is very disruptive. My research asks and answers the question can scaffolding communication through technology mitigate the disruption caused to families by migration, and if so, how? In my work I have explored two forms of disruptive family migration—parental migration (where parents and children live in separate countries) and refugee resettlement (resulting from forced migration). In both forms, families are embedded in support networks of individuals they rely on to minimize vulnerabilities faced post-migration and to rebuild a stable family structure. My empirical results revealed barriers (distance, language, literacy and so forth) that render the communication between families and their support network less than effective. Through participatory approaches, I then design and evaluate separately, two systems to mitigate the barriers and improve communication in the various support networks. The end contributions of my work include: i) contributing a nascent agenda on migration for Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) and related fields through providing an increased understanding of the challenges that limit the livelihoods of migration-separated and refugee families; ii) demonstrating two communication scaffolding systems for transient use by migrants to mitigate communication barriers--- time and distance on one hand (to support transnational home-school communication) and language and literacy on the other (through mediated human-in-the-loop voice translations for everyday interactions with refugees); iii) putting forth a reflection on methods to guide others seeking to work with similar groups and establishing the notion of designing for transient use in the development of systems to scaffold communication.
