[pt] O desafio da tese é atravessar um incômodo: a separação classificatória entre uma suposta poesia puramente expressiva - entendida enquanto uma escrita não elaborada e capaz de revelar algo da vivência do autor - e uma outra, puramente construtiva - concebida como um objeto controlado, distante da emoção e da realidade imediata do escritor. A partir do universo crítico-poético da poesia marginal dos anos 70, são afirmados diálogos e combates com autoridades (autores e rótulos) canonizados em torno da referida dicotomia. Trata-se de uma travessia tensa, cuidadosa e delirante. Sem negar a força da construção e da expressão, realiza-se uma operação de vazamento - traidora/trapaceira - em seus possíveis canais de totalização. / [en] The challenge of this thesis is to cross over a troublesome situation: the classifying separation between a poetry supposed to be purely expressive - understood as a no elaborated writing, able to reveal something from the authors life - and another one, purely constructive - understood as a controlled object, far from writers emotion and from his immediate reality. In this way, one affirms from the critical-poetical universe of the marginal poetry written in the seventies (70s) - dialogues and battles with/against authorities (authors and labels) that became canonized around the referred dichotomy, in other words, one deals with a tense, careful and delirious crossing. With no intention to deny the forces of the construction and of the expression, one realizes an operation of leakage - a traitor / trickster operation - in its possible channels of totality.

A dissertação focaliza Mário de Andrade leitor dos parnasianos brasileiros a partir de sua marginália nos autores e obras com os quais ele dialoga, em sua biblioteca particular, na segunda metade do decênio de 1910 e antes de 1921, quando o Jornal do Comércio estampa a série de sete artigos, Mestres do passado, em que ele se posiciona como modernista. Aos doze títulos vinculados à abordagem dos poetas parnasianos Francisca Júlia, Raimundo Corrêa, Alberto de Oliveira, Olavo Bilac e Vicente de Carvalho, nos artigos referidos, circunscreve-se a exploração das anotações autógrafas que preservam instâncias do processo criativo do crítico e de Mário de Andrade poeta em formação, na primeira parte deste mestrado. A recuperação integral dessa marginália, mediante transcrição e classificação acompanhada de notas da pesquisa esclarecendo determinados aspectos e traçando correlações com obras do escritor, compõe a segunda parte da dissertação, parte que constitui também um rigoroso instrumento de trabalho para os estudos sobre o escritor e sobre o parnasianismo no Brasil. / The dissertation focuses on Mario de Andrade reader of brazilian parnassians from his margin notes in the authors and works with whom he dialogues, in his private library in the second half of the decennary of 1910 and before 1921, when the Jornal do Comércio stamp a series of seven articles, \"Mestres do passado\", in wich he stands as modernist. To the twelve titles linked to the approach of the parnassian poets Francisca Julia, Raimundo Corrêa, Alberto de Oliveira, Olavo Bilac and Vicente de Carvalho, in the articles referred, is limited to exploitation of handwritten notes that preserve instances of the creative process and critical of Mário de Andrade poet in training, in the first part of this masters degree. The full recovery of his margin notes, by transcription and classification accompanied by notes explaining certain aspects of the research and plotting correlations with works of the writer composes the second part of the dissertation, which is also part of a rigorous working tool for studies on the writer and on the parnassianism in Brazil.

[pt] A dissertação investiga diversas faces das relações entre a história dos conceitos de Reinhart Koselleck e a hermenêutica filosófica de Hans-Georg Gadamer. Ao propormos uma interpretação da obra de Koselleck a luz das questões da filosofia hermenêutica, pretendemos entender e problematizar uma forma de conhecimento histórico que se baseia no diálogo e no vínculo entre passado e presente, com vistas a abertura de novos horizontes e perspectivas de futuro. Tal propósito é bem realizado pelos estudos históricos de Koselleck, mediante seu laço teórico com a filosofia heideggeriana e inserção nas questões políticas e sociais de sua época, o que os torna um importante campo para discussão no âmbito de nossa disciplina. O vigoroso debate travado entre os autores a respeito dos fundamentos do conhecimento histórico revela não somente discordâncias, mas também amplo campo de convergências, às quais iremos abordar. Estas idéias suscitam grande interesse num momento em que a ciência histórica cada vez mais parece definir seus objetivos como a investigação da alteridade histórica. A relação entre história e filosofia pode nos revelar perspectivas interessantes para a disciplina que nas últimas décadas, tem sofrido um grande impacto de correntes da antropologia. / [en] Dissertation looks into the various aspects of relations between Reinhart Koselleck s history of concepts and Hans-Georg Gadamer s philosophical hermeneutics. By proposing to interpret Koselleck s work in the light of inquiries made by hermeneutics philosophy, we intend to comprehend and bring into question one form of historical knowledge that is based upon the dialogue and the link between past and present, with a view to opening up new horizons and prospects of future. Such purpose is well served by Koselleck s historical studies, be it through their theoretical ties with the Heideggerian philosophy or their insertion into the political and social questions of his days, whereas they also make up a major discussion topic within our discipline. These authors strong argument on the fundamentals of historical knowledge shows not only dissent, but a wide field of consent as well, which will both be approached here. Authors ideas are of much interest just when historical science increasingly seems to state its purpose as an inquiry into historical otherness. The relation between history and philosophy may disclose interesting prospects for the discipline, which has greatly experienced the impact of anthropological trends in the latest decades.

Adaptive Critic Designs Based Neurocontrollers for Local and Wide Area Control of a Multimachine Power System with a Static Compensator

Modern power systems operate much closer to their stability limits than before. With the introduction of highly sensitive industrial and residential loads, the loss of system stability becomes increasingly costly. Reinforcing the power grid by installing additional transmission lines, creating more complicated meshed networks and increasing the voltage level are among the effective, yet expensive solutions. An alternative approach is to improve the performance of the existing power system components by incorporating more intelligent control techniques. This can be achieved in two ways: introducing intelligent local controllers for the existing components in the power network in order to employ their utmost capabilities, and implementing global intelligent schemes for optimizing the performance of multiple local controllers based on an objective function associated with the overall performance of the power system. Both these aspects are investigated in this thesis. In the first section, artificial neural networks are adopted for designing an optimal nonlinear controller for a static compensator (STATCOM) connected to a multimachine power system. The neurocontroller implementation is based on the adaptive critic designs (ACD) technique and provides an optimal control policy over the infinite horizon time of the problem. The ACD based neurocontroller outperforms a conventional controller both in terms of improving the power system dynamic stability and reducing the control effort required. The second section investigates the further improvement of the power system behavior by introducing an ACD based neurocontroller for hierarchical control of a multimachine power system. The proposed wide area controller improves the power system dynamic stability by generating optimal control signals as auxiliary reference signals for the synchronous generators automatic voltage regulators and the STATCOM line voltage controller. This multilevel hierarchical control scheme forces the different controllers throughout the power system to optimally respond to any fault or disturbance by reducing a predefined cost function associated with the power system performance.

Para tanto, o corpus utilizado constituiu-se de fontes primárias recolhidas nas bibliotecas e acervos das cidades de Assis, Marília, Campinas e São Paulo, bem como nos meios eletrônicos (Internet) - nos sites de buscas e outros relacionados ao banco de dados virtuais de acervos afins. Os textos consultados, referentes a Hesse e sua obra, abrangem o período de 1935 até 2005. Ao reunir a bibliografia sobre o escritor, procurou-se ampliar o conhecimento sobre a literatura hesseana e possibilitar o surgimento de novos estudos. / This text is about collecting and thinking over Hermann Hesse's reception in Brazil seeking to verify the importance that's been given by the Brazilian critic to him, specially in the state of São Paulo. For this, the corpus used has been built from primary sources collected in the libraries and collection from the cities of Assis, Marilia, Campinas and São Paulo, as well as through electronic methods (internet) - in the sites of searching and others related to the virtual data of collections. The consulted texts, referring to Hesse and all his work, involve the period from 1935 to 2005. This is all about verifying then in which circumstances occurred this encounter between the Hesse's literature and the Brazilian readers, represented by the journalists and academic researchers emphasizing the tendencies and the most important contributions of the critic concerning the story of Hesse's reading in Brazil. As guiding axis of this research a bibliographic list with comments has been made allowing a circumstanced view concerning all the texts found. The research also contains transcription of the texts published in newspapers and magazines which have its access restricted. When reunited the bibliography about the writer, the knowledge concerning Hesse's literature has been increased making possible the appearance of new studies.

A postura de Pedrosa como organizador da cultura ganhou outro patamar quando ele inicia um programa em defesa da inserção da arte abstrata na lógica artística nacional. Isso só foi possível ao crítico a partir de seu contato com a obra de Alexander Calder que, por sua vez, inaugurou uma estética inovadora na escultura. Unindo postulados da engenharia mecânica e sua grande inspiração circense, Calder deu origem a obras de natureza móvel: os móbiles e com eles reformulou o próprio conceito de escultura. Essas novas possibilidades plásticas apontadas por Calder foram responsáveis por muitas das inovações artísticas no Brasil, pois elas trouxeram a Pedrosa um expressivo alargamento de horizontes para com o fenômeno artístico, sendo desencadeador direto de sua ação como crítico e mentor de uma geração de jovens e brilhantes artistas do Neoconcretismo / Abstract: Our work treats the dialogue between the art critic Mário Pedrosa and the north-American sculptor Alexander Calder while source of esthetic information to artist of the Brazilian constructive project. Mário Pedrosa‟s as culture organizer gain another level when he starts a program in defense of abstract art and its insertion in the Brazilian‟s artistic logic. This was possible to the critic only after his contact with Alexander Calder‟s workmanship that, by his turn, started a pioneer esthetic in sculpture. Joining postulates of mechanics engineering and his great inspiration on circus, Calder gave origin of mobiles sculptures and it reformulates the concepts of sculpture. These new possibilities pointed by Calder was responsible for many of the artistic innovations in Brazil, because they brought to Pedrosa a expressive widening of horizons with the artistic phenomenon, being directly responsible by his action wile critic and mentor of the brilliant and young artists generation of Neoconcretism / Mestre

A presente pesquisa propõe uma reflexão sobre a leitura da história no século XVIII português, em especial a leitura de autores clássicos, ou de autores modernos que escreveram sobre a Antiguidade. Como fundamentação teórica, propõe-se que: tanto as maneiras de escrever e os objetos de escrita, quanto as razões e as maneiras de se ler, são elementos constitutivos do conhecimento histórico. Através da análise das obras de Luís António Verney (1713/1792), busca-se, portanto, responder: como e por que a história antiga era lida? Este estudo, ainda que trate de um caso particular, pretende contribuir, mesmo que de forma provisória e limitada, para a compreensão da historiografia e das práticas letradas do período, pois, ao construir suas preceptivas de leitura, o autor lusitano fez uso de tópicas compartilhadas por diversos outros autores europeus. Como estratégia heurística fez-se uso das noções de método e crítica como ferramentas de leitura, conformando, assim, o que aqui se chamou de um olhar moderno sobre a história antiga. / This research proposes a reflection on the reading of history in the Portuguese eighteenth century, especially the reading of classical authors, or modern writers whose works talk about antiquity. As the theoretical basis, we propose that both ways to write and writing objects, as well as the reasons and ways to read, are elements that compose the historical knowledge. By analyzing the works of Luís António Verney (1713/1792), therefore, this research aim to elucidate: in which way and for what reason antique history was read? This study, although it covers a particular case, intends to contribute, even if in temporary and limited basis, for understanding the historiography and literacy practices of the period, because, by forming his reading preceptives, the Lusitanian author made use of some topical shared by many other European authors. As a heuristic strategy was employed notions of method and critic as reading tools; conforming, in this way, what is here called a modern look at antique history.

En restaurangs uppgång eller fall : En komparativ studie mellan anonyma och offentliga matrecensioner och dess inverkan på restauranger / The rise or fall of a restaurant : A comparative study between anonymous and public food critics and its impact on restaurants

Syftet med denna uppsats var att studera de språkliga skillnaderna mellan anonyma och offentliga professionella matrecensenter, samt undersöka hur restaurangrecensioner påverkar restaurangägare. De tre frågeställningarna som har undersökt syftet var: Hur skiljer sig språket i de anonyma recensionerna gentemot de offentliga och påverkas språket i en recension av anonymiteten? Hur upplevs recensionen av restaurangägaren och har det någon betydelse om recensionen är skriven av en anonym eller offentlig kritiker? Hur skiljer sig språket beroende på om recensionen är positiv eller negativ? Undersökningen har utförts genom en kvantitativ metod med textanalys som redskap för undersökningen. Analyserna har gjorts på sex olika matkritikers recensioner. Textanalyserna gjordes på totalt 60 recensioner skrivna av tre anonyma kritiker respektive tre offentliga kritiker. Studiens andra syfte var att undersöka recensionernas inverkan på restauranger. Denna del av undersökningen har varit kvalitativ där intervjuer har gjorts med två restaurangägare. Resultatet av den kvantitativa undersökningen har visat på att det finns språkliga skillnader mellan anonyma och offentliga recensenters texter. Studien visade i den kvalitativa delen att genomslagskraften från restaurangrecensioner är hög. Restauranger påverkas följaktligen av recensioner publicerade angående deras restauranger. Slutsatsen var att restaurangrecensioner skiljer sig åt i språket mellan anonyma och offentliga skribenter samt att restauranger blir påverkade av båda negativa och positiva recensioner. Detta öppnar upp en debatt för att förändra kulturen av att ha anonyma recensenter i Sverige. / The aim of this study was to examine the grammatical and linguistic differences between anonymous and public food critics and to study how restaurant reviews affect restaurant owners. The three questions that have examined the aim was: How does the language differ in the anonymous reviews in comparison to the public and is the language in a review affected by the anonymity? How is a review perceived by a restaurant owner and does it matter if the review is written by an anonymous or public critic? How does the language differ depending on if the review is positive or negative? The study has used a quantitative method where text analysis as a tool for the examination was chosen. The analyses have been conducted on 60 reviews in total, written by three anonymous critics and three public critics.  The second aim was to investigate what influence food reviews have on restaurants. This part of the study was qualitative where interviews have been conducted with two restaurant owners. The outcome of this study shows that there were linguistical differences between anonymous and public food critics reviews. It also demonstrated in its qualitative section that food reviews have major impact on restaurants. Consequently, restaurants are greatly affected by reviews published regarding their restaurants. The conclusion of the study was that restaurant reviews differentiate between anonymous and public writers and that restaurants are affected by both negative and positive reviews. This opens a debate regarding the culture about having anonymous critics in Sweden.
