The first chapter introduces the legal concept of disabled people and their types in order to provide a better understanding of who can be considered. It also deals with the role played by the State, society and family in relation to the treatment they are given to the disabled and their role in defending their interests. The second chapter is devoted to accessibility and fundamental rights for people with disabilities, given that accessibility is the gateway to freedom and autonomy for the enjoyment of a dignified and egalitarian life. The third chapter presents the concept of the Third Sector and the way in which it has been developing its activities in the provision of the public services that it performs, whose social function has been important for the target public. In the fourth chapter, a study directed to the assistance that the Third Sector has been rendering to the visually impaired person has been carried out, in the supporting role that it exercises in relation to the State. In addition to the legal research, a case study was conducted, with a questionnaire applied to the visually impaired who presented their demands and their perception regarding the Third Sector. Then the final considerations. The question that guides the problem is: which are the effects of schooling in the production of subjectivity in students with disabilities? The general objective is to understand the effects of the schooling process in the production of subjectivity of subjects with disabilities; two specific objectives were established by the author, one is to investigate the effects of the school trajectory in the production of subjective senses in these subjects, the other is to seek indicators of subjective senses built during the schooling process. The theoretical framework that supports this work used authors who understand the development of subjects from their sociocultural context, the category of disability and senses presented by Vigotsky, and the works on the production of subjectivity of Fernando Gonz?lez Rey. The investigation and collection of data took place in a private school, which has from the Preschool up to High School, in the city of Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul, through analysis of documents and semi-structured interviews conducted with three students who are diagnosed with physical and/or intellectual disability and that are attending High School, as well as with their mothers. This study has a qualitative approach, with a descriptive character, that uses the semi-structured interview as instrument of data collection. From the viewpoint of data analysis, it was used the Discursive Textual Analysis (MORAES, 2011) which, in qualitative research, expects the immersion of the researcher in the documentary corpus, from which categories emerge from the research subjects' impressions. As for the findings of the study, it is concluded that the effects of the schooling process in the production of subjectivity in subjects with disabilities are unique, although permeated by social subjectivity, so that each subject produces a different sense and this sense is linked to the context in which the subject is inserted, in its trajectory that also produced meanings and that serves as the basis for new subjective senses. It is inferred that, within the scope of the social expectations that the school attends, the subjective senses produced are linked to the feeling of exclusion, and this occurs because schooling practices are still based on processes and methodologies that aim at the homogeneity of the subjects which, as a general rule, prevents teachers and collaborators from seeing the subjective processes of the students. This new attitude inevitably passes through teachers, since these are the very representation of schooling for students.

Under the effect of a - 15 atm stress (using mannitol as osmoticum), Centralmex showed the highest percent germination while IPEACS III showed the lowest. The germination of Piran?o seeds fell in between. There also differences in root and coleoptile growths of the three varieties as compared to that of the controls (germinated in demineralized water). At a more advanced stage of grouth (6-8 leaves, plants in pots kept in a greenhouse), the soil-water stress affected the plants differently. IPEACS III continued to be severely affected but Piran?o was now the least affected, with Centralmex falling in between. The effects of water stress upon the plant metabolic patterns resulted in a increase in the leaf content of nitrate-N, free amino-N, ammonia-N, free proline and soluble sugars.181 There was on the other hand a reduction in nitrate reductase activity and protein content. Although the same general metabolic pattern was observed for the three varieties, significant differences could be detected among the varieties. These results indicated that the greenhouse environment was adequate for the study of plant responses to water stress, even enabling the distinction between varietal differences. The content of free amino-N and soluble sugars in the plant leaves showed a higher sensitivity to moderate water stress than the other indicators. A special attention was given to the study of the increase in free proline levels in the leaves. The ellucidation of the factors governing the relative accumulation of this metabolite in corn leaves requires more detailed studies. Only then could proline content be considered a safe indicator of water stress resistance for corn plants. The plants under water stress were also submitted to growth analysis. This test was very efficient for the study of dry weight and leaf expansion variation among varieties. The results of this study shows that three main factors are responsible for the plant resistance to water stress, namely: a. Tolerance to dehydration (differences in R.W.C.) b. resistance to loss in protein (differences in protein-N levels and free-N/protein-N ratios)182 c. increasc in root/shoot ratios. The present study shows the necessity of experiments with field grown plants, to check the sensitivity of the various factors studied and to compare the behavior of different corn varieties in the field with that in greenhouse.

In the XXI century, despite the speech of especial education in an inclusion perspective, some processes of stigmatization and segregation are still present practices in brazilian school institutions, especially, when it comes to students with Intellectual Disability (ID). In an inclusive aproach, such students inserted in regular schools require modifications, some didactic-pedagogical and attitudinal rearrangements. Thus, the proposed research in this dissertation aims to understand from the life and school histories of young people with ID, how their school trajectories had reverberated in the self-image they establish of themselves, Considering the relationship between the stigma interface, identity and ID. The study aimed to analyze how the school experiences of young people with ID interfere in the formation of their identity. Three young women diagnosed with ID and their respective aunts / mothers had the participation in the study. The applied methodology follows a qualitative approach, guided by the method of oral history of life. In the data construction, the recurrent interview was used, which allowed the apprehension of meanings attributed to the school life by the subjects of the research. We organized the categories as follows: a) school and life trajectories; b) conceptions and experiences of socialization in the regular school; c) schooling processes in regular school. The data analysis allowed us to understand the types of experiences with the stigma which students with ID are experiencing in the school context, considerably broadening the knowledge about the way the process of including people with ID has been done, its advances and its limitations with regards to the guarantee of socialization and schooling in the regular school. We verified, with the study, that the schooling of ID people inserted in regular classes, in the last years elementary and high school, is still characterized by the precariousness of inclusion processes, through the non-acceptance and the establishment of a non-reciprocal mixed contacts, reinforcing the stigma of the non-learning and development of students with ID, as well as the belief that regular school is not their place. At last, one of the lessons (provided by this) dissertation is the need to create a less restrictive school environment for ID students, allowing the construction of identities without limiting and conditioning them to a supposed label, considering the multiplicity of attributes and potentialities that must be effectively developed in the course of a school life, creating new meanings about what is intellectual disability in a school routine.

The dissertation is divided into four chapters, namely: Identification Map, Map Theory, Field Map and Map Analysis. Does the use of official and international documents on education and inclusion, to contextualise the research. It is used as the theoretical research: Mathematical Modeling in education as a research method (BIEMBENGUT, 2008) and perception (DAVIDOFF, 2001). For data collection five physical scale models, derived from the Tactile Cartography Laboratory and School (LabTATE) of the Federal University of Santa Catarina were used. The impressions of the employee on the information contained in the material were audio recorded and transcribed, and the impressions of the author of the research so that comparisons of both perceptions (blind seer) and analysis of the perception of the cognitive psychology could be established. The results show that spatial perception of the blind runs through the steps of Mathematical Modeling as a research method and that the blind are able to perceive the environment and the entities related to mapping similar to a psychic way. The youths who enter in this educational system need proper education which would enable them to continue and succeed. Among these youths, there are those with visual impairments. In Brazil their participation in courses of higher education has increased more than 370% between the years 2003 and 2005. Given this scenario, we chose a qualitative approach to the current research that aims to examine and analyze the inclusion of blind students in private Graduate Schools in Federal District. The paper represents the perspective of these students. To achieve this it was necessary to check and analyze the resources provided by these institutions to keep and successfully graduate students with visual impairments. And also reports from these students, interviews with representatives of institutions and on-site observation. It makes a comparison between the needs presented by these students and the specific treatment offered by the respective institutions of higher education. The process of data collection was based on interviews made by the researcher with students with visual disabilities and representatives of institutions of higher education, in addition to reports done during the visit to the institutions. This research revealed that the complete fulfillment of the student???s rights with visual impairments by institutions of higher education will not be met until there is a civic education of students and the legal prerogative for the actions of the institutions. Students interviewed showed no heed to their rights and duties when enrolling in an undergraduate course, instead they have only ensured their presence in the chosen course and enjoyed what was offered. On the other hand the institutions, despite receiving students with special educational needs for at least five years, do not reveal the institutionalization of actions to ensure adequate care to these students. It is necessary to deconstruct the image of the ideal or stigmatized disability in the school community and then allow the generation of equal opportunity for these students besides ensuring the rights and duties common to all people. After the Second World War, the practice increased all around the world, especially for the recovery of the people who were disabled in the war, to aid rehabilitation back into society. Periodically scientific and technological developments changes elite and amateur sport. Improving the performances is the main reason for continual long and hard training; however, these training sessions can be monotonous, occasionally they need to be renewed in order to motivate the sportspeople. There is a huge communication difficulty in the swimming environment. The aim of this study was the development of a wireless communication system, which allows the haptic signaling between one coach, and many athletes who may be deaf and/or blind. This work has found a solution to overcome these hindrances, the VIBERSWIM. The system is comprised of a transmitter in a graphic touchscreen display, and receivers embedded and fitted to the swimsuit. Using wireless technology, the transmitter sends encoded commands, which has the capability of addressing individual or multiple receivers. A power driver and vibracall motors allows the receiver to transmit haptic signals to the swimmers and those signals have pre-determined specific meanings. The receiver has low energy consumption, 14 autonomy hours, works in aqueous environments and is able to emit audio commands. The prototype was tested and has the capability of transmitting signals over 100 meters. The innovative features of the VIBERSWIM has the potential to, radically, increase the communication between coaches and para-swimmers, in order to elevate the effectiveness of the training sessions.

Thus, we investigate the technologies, with emphasis on Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), used by university students with visual impairment in their learning process in Higher Education in the city of Macap? / AP, with two blind students from Stadual University of Amapa (UEAP). We established as research objectives: To investigate the technologies used by university students with visual impairment in their learning process; To characterize the choices of pedagogical tools of these students in the scope of Information and Communication Technologies; Identify possible technological barriers in the learning process in Higher Education; Characterize the impacts of the technologies used by these students in their learning process. It is worth noting that in order to problematize the process of inclusion of students with visual impairment through the use of ICT as a dimension of accessibility to knowledge, the objectives were deployed in the following study questions: There are other tools of assistive technology in the daily life of the room of class?; What are its impacts on the learning process of students with visual impairment in Higher Education ?; What barriers or obstacles are evident in the process of schooling of students with visual impairment in Higher Education ?; What assistive technology tools are privileged in the choices of these visually impaired students in their learning process ?; What are the didacticpedagogical impacts of the technologies used in the learning process of students with visual impairment? Thus, this study contributes, adopting the methodological conception of Critical Theory as a method, with emphasis on Theodor Adorno's thought, for the unveiling of the plots experienced by students with visual deficiency in Public Higher Education of Amap?. For this, we use as a data collection procedure the semi-structured interview. In the progress of this study, we obtained as a result that even with the possibilities in the access to bibliographic collections in universities and academic databases, with all the tools available to students with visual impairment, either through braille, extended text or digital media , The subjects of our study still face numerous didactic-pedagogical barriers / Nesse estudo discutimos os aspectos pol?tico-legais que se voltam para o processo de inclus?o de estudantes com defici?ncia visual na Universidade, considerando-a como geradora de conhecimento e promotora da emancipa??o de seu corpo discente, reafirmando o direito de isonomia e equidade de oportunidades.

As an?lises estat?sticas foram realizadas mediante an?lise de vari?ncia. / Disserta??o (Mestrado) ? Programa de P?s-Gradua??o em Ci?ncia Florestal, Universidade Federal dos Vales do Jequitinhonha e Mucuri, 2013. / ABSTRACT Currently, due to the limitations of expanding areas traditional of eucalyptus, several research groups have pursued strategies to expand the boundaries Brazilian forest. However, the low water availability of these border regions has limited the development of some genotypes of eucalyptus. Therefore, we aimed to: i) evaluate the morphological and physiological responses of two contrasting genotypes of eucalyptus as to their ability to tolerate drought and ii) build a library differential gene genotype drought tolerant, in order to enable the understanding molecular mechanisms underlying tolerance to water deficit. The experiment was conducted in a greenhouse at UFVJM in Diamantina, MG. The plants of the two genotypes, 953 clones (Eucalyptus camaldulensis vs. Eucalyptus grandis) and 224 (Eucalyptus grandis vs Eucalyptus urophylla) model of tolerance and sensitivity to water stress, respectively, were acclimated in the shade, irrigated for 30 days. After this period, underwent two different water regimes (irrigated and non-irrigated), when then were evaluated over the experimental period, the growth in height and diameter, leaf area, total chlorophyll index, chlorophyll a fluorescence variables, gas exchange variables, dry matter of all plant parts and their relations derived (shoot/root dry weight ratios, leaf weight ratio, specific leaf area and leaf area ratio) and the symptoms of stress. The experiment was conducted in a completely randomized design in a factorial 2 (genotypes) x 2 (water regimes), totaling four treatments (25 replicates each). Statistical analyzes were performed by analysis of variance. For the study of gene expression, concomitant application of water stress, leaves were collected, frozen in liquid N2 and stored at - 80 ?C. Then proceeded with the extraction and purification of total RNA and subsequent construction of the subtractive library. Water stress did not limit the growth in height of the genotypes studied, although it reduced the diameter and total dry matter production. The other morphophysiological variables and all gas exchange variables were negatively affected by drought. Clone 224 was less efficient photosynthetic and more sensitive to water restriction for most variables. In contrast, the 953 was more tolerant to lack of water. Possibly, reduced leaf area, increases in chlorophyll content and photosynthetic apparatus more efficient may have been determinant to increase tolerance found in clone 953. These strategies can be targeted in selection programs of genetic materials more drought tolerant. In this sense, the quantum efficiency of Photosystem II showed a characteristic to be considered in the selection process for tolerance to water shortage. A cDNA library constructed will allow to identify which genes are involved in the process of tolerance on the genotype 953. In the future, these candidate genes may be transferred to genotypes of economic interest through transgenesis.

Disserta??o (Mestrado Profissional) ? Programa de P?s-Gradua??o em Sa?de, Sociedade e Ambiente, Universidade Federal dos Vales do Jequitinhonha e Mucuri, 2013. / ABSTRACT The objective of this study was to analyze social representations, knowledge and practices related to the National Vitamin A Supplementation Program (PNSVitA in its Portuguese acronym) in a municipality of the Jequitinhonha Valley. This Program has been established within the framework of the Brazilian Unified Health System in order to prevent / control Vitamin A Deficiency (VAD), which is currently one of the major public health problems associated with food and nutrition. As far as methodology is concerned, a qualitative approach and the Social Representations Theory were adopted. Semi-structured and focused interviews were conducted with twenty mothers of children who benefit from the National Vitamin A Supplementation Program, this number being defined by progressive inclusion, interrupted by the saturation method. The interviews were tape-recorded, transcribed and subjected to thematic content analysis. With regard to the practices relating to the National Vitamin A Supplementation Program, this study reveals that vitamin A supplementation has been a strategy linked to the National Immunization Program. This is an issue that may have both positive and negative repercussions. It shows that the supplementation practice has not been accompanied by a proper communication, information and education process targeted at the beneficiary population. This may influence the knowledge and conceptions that mothers possess about vitamin A, VAD, and the PNSVitA. It indicates that supplementation with mega-doses of the vitamin has been the central strategy to prevent / control VAD, and suggests the absence of activities aimed at the promotion of appropriate and healthy eating habits. Concerning the knowledge that mothers possess about the subject area of the study, it is evidenced that, in general, such knowledge is absent or is not consistent with what is described in the scientific and technical literature. This is an issue that may affect the recognition of VAD as a local public health problem and that may influence the adoption of co-responsibility for preventive measures. Based on the analysis of their knowledge, in the light of the Social Representations Theory, this study reveals that some mothers view vitamin A as the ?vitamin from the community health post?, which indicates that this nutrient is primarily perceived as medication, and not as a constituent element of food. It reveals the conception that vitamin A is a vaccin or simply a vitamin (in a generic way), and finally it demonstrates that this vitamin is valued by these mothers, even though at times they do not understand its importance. It is concluded that, for effective prevention / control of vitamin A deficiency, it is necessary to prioritize food-based strategies rather than vitamin A drug supplementation, taking into account the human right to adequate food. In addition, it is necessary to develop / strengthen population-focused educational activities concerning this nutritional deficiency and the actions to prevent / control it.
