Le pli : Deleuze entre Leibniz et le Baroque / The fold : Deleuze between Leibniz and the Baroque

D'aurizio, Claudio 15 April 2019 (has links)
The subject of my thesis is the concept of “fold” in the work of Gilles Deleuze, as it emerges in the late 80’s. My purpose is to show that the concept of fold can summarise the entirety of Deleuze’s philosophical project. As a matter of fact, its formulation allows to address all of the most important questions of his thought, and to adopt a different approach on the discussion and the solution of some philosophical problems, such as the theme of the subject and Deleuze’s conception of philosophy as a “creation of concepts”. By doing that, I try to follow and underline the several implicit references and the hidden theoretical pattern which compose the text of The Fold. Leibniz and the Baroque (1988). My work is composed of five chapters. The first one has an introductive character and consists of a reflexion on Deleuze’s philosophical reading method, which we define as “anamorphic”. The second chapter focuses on the presence of Leibniz in Difference and repetition (1968) and on the relevance of his thought in the creation of Deleuzes’ philosophical terminology. The third one is titled “A thousand folds”, paraphrasing the name of another work of Deleuze and Guattari. There I try to reconstruct the several theoretical lines that compose the concept of fold; furthermore, I try to underline the philosophical multiplicity of this concept. The fourth chapter focuses on the Baroque, which plays a fundamental role in Deleuze’s argumentations. Here I retrace his ideas about infinity and folding during the Baroque era. Then, I try to confront his theory with Walter Benjamin and Jacques Lacan’s lectures of Baroque. The last chapter deals with the concept of neobaroque.

Quixote, andante poesia / Quixote, andante poetry

Pedrosa, Gabriel 26 May 2015 (has links)
This thesis seeks to think the latent defunctional in every writing, as language and life: its potencies not dominated by the finalist and utilitarian cut between functional and dysfunctional, and the becoming-poetry of this interdicts when reversed in the affirmation of possibilities beyond those determined by fixed codes and existing composition models. His relationship with imminent death; the role of reading in his fantasy, which extension shows up inescapable to whoever gets close to it; his irreducibility to any judgment that could be tried on his mental sanity; his constant construction of an equivocal and elusive identity; and his permanent and delirious improvisation in the theatre of the world configure a ludic, inventive and open writing, aware of its formation, its context and its routes, which enables the construction of the notion of a poetics of existence, suggested by preliminary theoretical speculations.

The central objective of the research was to investigate the old age as a vector to creations of itself, requiring the structuring of a policy of meetings and with the support and means, the political philosophy of Deleuze. This search begins for questions and lines for what is happening and pierces the meetings, providing approximations of what distinguish a life of all the others, ie, singling and individuation processes that express something about the ways of life of each. The adopted methodological strategy was based on a rhizome and interstitial procedure applied in the literature of the surveyed works, prioritizing the issue that is in the friction between old age as agenciadora meetings, and an implied policy in the promotion and proliferation of good meetings, and the philosophy of Deleuze support for us we slide through his conceptual thoughts, in our view, still able to attract new interference, just by virtue of everything that happens in their midst. This methodology allowed the approach of different thoughts and the development of conjugations and trials in the search for a political meetings as a possibility for other creations. The alliance between these fields enabled think old age as an event, ie, containing within it the possibility of radical transformation of existence. In addition, the research advances in the development and mapping of a Deleuzian policy meetings, which, among other things problematize contemporary lifestyles / Esta tese resultou de um estudo fomentado nas ideias do filósofo francês Gilles Deleuze.

França, Alexandre Gil 23 June 2017 (has links)
The present dissertation proposes, through concepts drawn from diverse thinkers, mainly Gilles Deleuze, Félix Guattari and Giorgio Agamben, the development of tools for analysis and creation of artistic works in the field of representation. Based on two key concepts, the territory in Deleuze and Guattari\'s conception, and the desecration in Agamben\'s interpretation, this dissertation discusses the connection between varied artistic areas (such as performance, theater, cinema, etc.), as well as the relation between materials of the past and those of the present, in order to highlight the vast field of artistic creation and analysis present in the contemporary representative arts. Moreover, to demonstrate the strength of the tools discussed and deepened in this dissertation, the author developed a practical part, in which he weaves a dramaturgical text inspired by the ideas debated in the course of his theoretical work.

Kafka: estética e política do estranhamento / Kafka: aesthetics and politics of the uncanny

Maeso, Benito Eduardo Araujo 24 April 2013 (has links)
This work aims to investigate the way Kafka´s thematics and narrative structure builds the sensation of uncanny, misplacing and oddity between the reader and the story. Simultaneously, these characteristics of Kafka´s work can build a political field of resistance. To achieve this goal and locate those elements in Kafka´s literary corpus, an in-depth analysis of his works letters, aphorisms, romances and short stories - is necessary, with special attention to The Process, The Castle and The Metamorphosis. Also, this work intends to establish a dialogue between Kafka´s thematics and the concepts of Adorno, Benjamin, Deleuze and Guattari, among others. Four lines of force are the core of this thesis: Kafka´s writing techniques; the concept of mimesis; the uncanny (unheimlich); and the linkage between art, poltics and society, with emphasis in the concept of resistance which is present in Kafka´s work and in Adorno´s (and also in Deleuze´s) definition of art. At last, what is the political status of Kafka´s work as an allegory of human condition?

Deleuze, temps et éthique : les trois synthèses du temps et les trois éthiques / Deleuze, time and ethics : the three syntheses of time and the three ethics

Zhou, Xiyin 30 November 2015 (has links)
This dissertation plans to contribute to a study of the philosophy of time and the ethics of Deleuze, by scrutinizing the conception of time drawn from the three syntheses in Difference and repetition and that of ethics which is embodied in the article titled “Spinoza and the three « Ethics » ” (Critical and Clinical), in order to show the isomorphism between the ternary structure of the three syntheses of time and that of the three Ethics. This brings about a meta-ethical stake going beyond the deleuzian scope and also enables to recapture the conception of ethics from a perspective of time. It’s about trying to arrive at a meta-ethical reflection, on the deleuzian ethics inspired by Spinoza and Nietzsche, from this ‘problematique’ of both time and ethics. The approach and the style that are adopted to realize this theme are neither exegetical nor hermeneutical, but inclined to construct the arguments. Hence, instead of adhering to the deleuzian assertions taken for granted, by insisting on an intellectual reserve and by practicing an argumentative attitude, a genuine conceptual dialogue with Deleuze from an external point of view becomes possible. This argumentative dialogue is realized by applyingsome powerful concepts, which don’t necessarily attach to the deleuzian system: the concept of ‘presentism’ is introduced by joining it with that of the spinozian ‘expression’ in order to make all the three syntheses of time univocal; the concept of ‘abduction’ is invited to clarify the particular philosophical manner of Deleuze. Therefore, this dissertation privileges an externalist point of view in the reading of the articulation between ontology of time and ethics.

Architectures Numériques et Résurgence Baroque : bernard Cache, Greg Lynn et le Pli de Deleuze / Digital Architectures and Baroque Resurgence : Bernard Cache, Greg Lynn and Deleuze's Fold.

Plihon, Florence 07 October 2016 (has links)
During the 1990s, the word baroque reappears in some discourses on emerging digital architecture and the changes induced by new design and production softwares. Can we say that some architects are extending a baroque impetus in new exploratory modes of architectural form by digital tools? This thesis proposes an approach that combines philosophy, anthropology and linguistics to analyze the speeches of two architects, pioneers in the development of digital technologies. Greg Lynn (USA, 1967*) approaches the design by algorithms that generate complex forms, while Bernard Cache (France, 1958*) explores and theorizes the file-to-factory, which is a continuous chain between design and production. They become closer in their respective interpretation of The Fold, Leibniz and the Baroque, Gilles Deleuze (1988), a philosophical work from which they pull out many concepts to theorize the themes of continuity, the infinite variety of forms, and the non-standard. The analysis focuses on the involvement of the baroque in the discursive strategies as an homology structuring their thoughts, and raises its fictional dimension. The concept, in addition to be a founding archetype of the imaginary of these architects, is a useful operating tool in their theoretical and architectural productions. However, it is adapted to answer the intellectual challenges of their time.

Arsenal: um bando de ideias sobre arte na educação / Arsenal: a bunch of ideas on art in education

Kelly Cristine Sabino 30 October 2015 (has links)
Arsenal is a repository of ideas collected from the classroom, from so called contemporary art and from Deleuze and Guattaris philosophy. Compiled as an alphabet, it is a dictionary born of the clash between the field of art education and what students and some artists say, mixed and transformed in the fashion of the philosophy of difference. Contemporary art is of interest to this research because of the scrambling it causes to the canonized and stable ways of understanding and receiving art, in the belief that such operations can contribute to art inserts in the school environment through invention and power. Life experiences gathered in the classroom, rather than stories of success, operate as shots of what generates discomfort and misunderstanding, understanding with Barthes that writing begins where speech becomes impossible. It is therefore in the negotiation between the margins of research and practice that this work is situated, accomodating a need for a place where art, education, philosophy and so many crossings brought to the classroom meet. Arsenal seeks to identify an alleged school culture around the arts, tensing the position this culture holds in education, while proposing to inscribe it into everyday school life, to a point beyond the methodology-knowledge binomial. Arsenal presents through twenty-three entries ways to see the classroom, art, students and the school as rarities, in the Foucault mode, so that things and words are not directly related to unquestionable truths, waging a struggle for an education with more vitality and allowing difference and creation to spring up in that arid and trampled place called school.
