Gynovation : Redesigning Gynaecologist Clinics for Enhanced Well-beingVo Gårdh, Emma January 2024 (has links)
The objective of this project is to challenge the traditional interior design of gynaecologist clinics and develop a fresh and innovative concept that enhances the overall experience for patients. By utilising colour, material, and form, this interior concept aims to transform the perception of healthcare facilities, ultimately improving the well-being and comfort of patients during gynaecological visits. To exemplify a different, more welcoming and safe environment, my experiments have involved using colour, material and form, as well as purpose designed chairs for the waiting room as well as the examination rooms, respectively. Besides this I have explored distractive elements during the patients’ examination. The design process for this project involved conducting qualitative research and studying existing gynaecologist clinic designs, patient experiences, and current trends in healthcare environments. Valuable insights has been gathered through interviews with healthcare professionals and patients, which helped identify areas for potential improvement. Additionally, the project explored the use of innovative design techniques, materials, and spatial configurations that foster a sense of privacy, and well- being. The design process also involves the development of design sketches and digital visualisations to aid in the visualisation and refinement of the interior concept. By utilising all design elements, the concept aims to create a health-promoting experience that ensures a safe, pleasant, and welcoming environment for both patients and staff.

Previous issue date: 2012 / Nenhuma / Atualmente o design vem ganhando um papel estratégico no desenvolvimento da inovação organizacional, trazendo uma nova orientação pela qual estas podem gerar valor. O design estratégico propõe um método projetual para o desenvolvimento de conceitos de projeto que posteriormente são transformados em produtos. Este percurso é explorado no presente estudo buscando elucidar as características dos conceitos de projeto e as dificuldades no seu percurso de implementação. Foram desenvolvidos três estudos de caso com organizações que se propuseram a desenvolver projetos de design estratégico. Nestes estudos foram levantados documentos bem como feitas entrevistas com um gestor e um líder da equipe de designers em cada uma delas. Os resultados apresentam uma série de características básicas dos conceitos de projeto e tópicos pertinentes ao seu processo de implementação. / Design nowadays is developing its strategic placement for organizational innovation, bringing a new orientation from where to generate value. Strategic Design proposes a projectual method that proceds from concept development to the implemented solutions. This path is explored in this study in order to clear the concepts' charactheristics as well as the difficulties and standards for its implementation. Three case studies have been made with organizations that proposed to develop Strategic Design projects. In this studies a number os documents were raised and interviews with a manager and a design leader in each one of them. The results point to a series of basic charactheristics of the concepts and relevant topics on the implementation process of strategic design projects

Detta examensarbete handlar om konceptframtagning av ett tilläggssystem för QFM-pressen som är tillverkad av Quintus Technologies. I dagsläget kan pressen endast utföra kallformspressning och efter ett avslutat projekt är målet att kunna kombinera både kall- och varmformspressning med hjälp av tilläggssystemet. Olika konceptidéer genererades med hjälp av brainstorming och sedan valdes det mest lämpliga konceptet utifrån en beslutsmatris. Genom ett iterativt arbete med det valda konceptet kunde ett resultat presenteras med 3D-modellering i PTC Creo Parametric. Efter ett avslutat projekt uppfylldes syftet och målet med detta examensarbete. / The purpose of this thesis project is to create a concept for an additional system that may be used by the QFM-press. Currently, the press can only execute cold-form pressing rather than a combination of both cold- and hot-form pressing. Different conceptual ideas were generated using brainstorming method, and the most suitable concept was chosen based on a decision matrix. After investigating possible solutions, results associated with the 3D-modelling in PTC Creo Parametric were present. By the end of this study, the purpose and goals of this thesis were fulfilled.

DESIGN OF SET DISPLAYS FOR BREAD AND BAKERY IN GROCERY STORESLázaro García, Julia January 2022 (has links)
Master thesis carried out in collaboration with PS Retail, a retail design company from Jönköping, during the spring semester of 2022 as a part of the Industrial Design Master at Jönköping University. This project describes the process of design, development and construction of a module focused on the bread and bakery department in grocery stores for EveryDay Sweden, a partner of PS Retail. It consists of the development of a new versatile and contemporary assortment of displays that fit the interior of grocery stores, more specifically, for the bread and bakery department. Some of their approaches are to anticipate how supermarkets will evolve over time and design accordingly. In addition, they want the space to be comfortable for everyone, so some ergonomic factors are taken into account. Finally, their goal is to expand to other European markets, so both aesthetics and function must be considered. The final result is a module for bread storage and some proposals on how to fit in different environments. It works similar to a drawer, except that when the customer pulls it, the glass is lifted and the bread is exposed. In addition, the proposals represent how this module would look in different shapes and environments, depending on the capacity of the store.

The primary aim of this study in creative writing is research into an aspect of the writing process, namely the creation of spatial dynamics in a novel. This objective required the creation of an artefact. A novel titled Somersneeu was written in order to examine the very process of generating spatial dynamics in this novel in particular, as well as in the novel as such. Somersneeu was published by Human & Rousseau in 2010.
Practice-based as well as practice-led research was fundamental to this study. An artistic creator registers intellectually whatever unfolds during the creative process and so new knowledge can simultaneously be created. The process of creating a work of art as well as the reflection thereon is fundamental to practice-led research. In other words, the creative process of an artefact like the novel Somersneeu is the source of a certain kind of knowledge that gradually emerges and can eventually be verbalised. Therefore a design concept for creating spatial dynamics may be articulated.
It is a fact that a definite coherence exists between space and spatial dynamics. These two concepts are in reality inseparable and this cohesion is what is also being investigated in this study. Space actually consists of spatial dynamics since all the different facets of space, concrete as well as abstract, have definite and inseparable repercussions upon one another, causing a dynamic interaction among all facets of space. Apart from concrete or physical space, numerous abstractions of space take part in this interplay. These spatial abstractions are, for instance culture, identity, zeitgeist and the all-encompassing human psyche. The intense interplay among all the facets of space triggers spatial dynamics. This is the case in real life as well as in fiction.
The above mentioned discussion of space and spatial dynamics is followed by an intense and heuristic view of the process of creating spatial dynamics. In order to create spatial dynamics in a novel, a novelist should have a strong sense of place. The essence of creating spatial dynamics in a novel consists mainly of the transformation of sense of place. The main aim of this study is then to present a design concept for the creation of spatial dynamics in a novel. This design concept may be used by other writers in order to create spatial dynamics in a novel. Einige Aspekte der Gestaltung mit Licht und Farbe sind subjektiv, jedoch gibt es auch physikalische Auswirkungen auf den Körper. Im Bereich des Lichts spielen die Lichtart, -quelle und -temperatur eine entscheidende Rolle. Im Bereich der Farbe nehmen Farbton, Helligkeit und Sättigung, sowie die Farbtemperatur und ihre Verteilung im Raum Einfluss auf unsere Wahrnehmung. Dieser Forschungsartikel untersucht, durch welche Gestaltungskonzepte und Merkmale von Licht und Farben das Wohlbefinden von Patient:innen einer forensischen Psychiatrie verbessert werden kann.
Auf der Suche nach einer Gestaltungsempfehlung wurden zunächst die wichtigsten Merkmale aus der Literatur herausgearbeitet um anschließend in einer Befragung thematisiert zu werden. In dieser wurden die drei Hauptaufenthaltsräume: Patientenzimmer, Therapieraum und Gemeinschaftsraum untersucht und visualisiert.
Dabei gab es Parameter, bei denen sich die Meinungen der Befragten deckten. Beispielsweise der Wunsch nach großen Fenstern, sowie die Bedeutung, die natürliches Licht für den Körper hat. Jedoch gibt es auch Parameter, wie die Lichttemperatur und Farbe, bei denen es mehr Variationen in den Antworten gibt. Um diese verschiedenen Wünsche zu erfüllen, wurde der Vorschlag einer regulierbaren Lichtquelle angebracht. Besonders im Patientenzimmer erscheint dies als sinnvolle Maßnahme, da sich eine individuelle Farbwahl der Wände in einer solchen Einrichtung als problematisch darstellt. [... aus dem Text]

Design of body assemblies with distributed tasks under the support of parametric associative design (PAD)Tecklenburg, Gerhard January 2011 (has links)
This investigation identifies how CAD models of typical automotive body assemblies could be defined to allow a continuous optimisation of the number of iterations required for the final design and the number of variants on the basis of Parametric Associative Design (PAD) and how methodologies for the development of surfaces, parts and assemblies of the automotive body can be represented and structured for a multiple re-use in a collaborative environment of concept phase of a Product Evolution (Formation) Process (PEP). The standardisation of optimised processes and methodologies and the enhanced interaction between all parties involved in product development could lead to improve product quality and reduce development time and hence expenses. The fundamental principles of PAD, the particular methodologies used in automotive body design and the principles of methodical development and design in general are investigated. The role which automotive body engineers play throughout the activities of the PEP is also investigated. The distribution of design work in concept teams of automotive body development and important methodologies for the design of prismatic profile areas is critically analysed. To address the role and distribution of work, 25 group work projects were carried out in cooperation with the automotive industry. Large assemblies of the automotive bodies were developed. The requirements for distributed design work have been identified and improved. The results of the investigation point towards a file based, well structured administration of a concept design, with a zone based approach. The investigation was extended to the process chain of sections, which are used for development of surfaces, parts and assemblies. Important methods were developed, optimised and validated with regard to an update safe re-use of 3D zone based CAD models instead of 2D sections. The thesis presents a thorough description of the research undertaken, details the experimental results and provides a comprehensive analysis of them. Finally it proposes a unique methodology to a zone based approach with a clearly defined process chain of sections for an update-safe re-use of design models.

Syftet med studien är att presentera ett designkoncept för publika diskussioner på nätet med målet att uppnå djupare diskussioner och minska mängden information overload. Arbetet använder metoden Concept Driven Interaction Design (CDID) som går ut på att skapa ett designkoncept utifrån flera olika teorier som appliceras genom interaktionsdesign. Ett designkoncept innehåller tre delar: ett namn, ett syfte och huvudprinciper. CDID innehåller sju steg som arbetet är utformat efter: 1. Concept Generation – Summeras i en tabell som jämför diskussioner i forum (med flera antagande) och diskussioner med hjälp av metoden Philosophy for Children (P4C), samt annan teori. 2. Concept Exploration – Åtta olika designaspekter identifieras utifrån jämförelsetabellen. 3. Internal Concept Critique – Designaspekterna jämförs med två snarlika diskussionsformat. 4. Design of Artifacts – Designkoncept version 1 skapas. 5. External Design Critique – Intervjuer utförs för att undersöka intervjupersonerna generella erfarenheter av online diskussioner, testar antagandena från jämförelsetabellen och ge direkt feedback på första versionen av designkonceptet. 6. Concept Exploration – Eight distinct design aspects are identified from the comparison table. 3. Internal Concept Critique – The design aspects are compared to three similar discussion formats. 4. Design of Artifacts – Design concept version 1 is created. 5. External Design Critique – Interviews are conducted to explore their general experience of online discussions, investigate the hypothesis from the comparison table and to seek direct feedback on the first draft of the design concept. 6. Concept Revisited – Changes are made to the design concept based on the interview material and the direct feedback. 7. Concept Contextualization – The design concept is related to the original literature. The result of the study is a design concept named CoFramer.
