Framtidens digitaliserade studentboendenTenenbaum, Sebastian, Ganlid, Marcus January 2019 (has links)
The progress of digitization leaves few industries untouched. Digitization leads to higher efficiency and reduced costs. This will benefit property owners who get a more efficient property management with reduced overhead costs and tenants who can get a higher quality of life in their accommodation. But so far, digitalization has mainly gone to commercial and public buildings and has not yet had any major impact on private homes. The real estate industry is now in a transformation phase and even private homes will be more digitized than they are today. This means that the homes will have more technical functions and become more advanced. However, digitalization on the home side has not received as much attention in academic and non-academic writings. Even less attention has been paid to the digitization of student housing. Therefore, the purpose of this study to investigate what students want in future digitized student accommodation. The question is answered through a questionnaire. The survey was sent to students in Malmö in order for them to answer what functions and services they would like in a more digitized accommodation. After analysis of the survey, it seems like a built-in Wi-Fi in the building and a smartbox were you can collect packages from shopping online are the most requested features. This is something that real estate companies can implement to continue developing their service offering.

Mathematical Treatment of Digitized Data Containing Instrument Response and Statistical DeviationsSlavinskas, Darius 04 1900 (has links)

Two methods of approach are presented for the analysis of digitized
data containing instrument response effects. The first method corrects the
data vector by means of multiplication by the inverse response matrix. In
order to accomodate large size data fields, a special effort is made to
obtain expressions for the inverse. matrix elements in closed form. Reduction
of statistical uncertainties is accomplished by application of non-negativity
conditions. The second approach is based on the method of
least squares. Applications to two-dimensional coincidence spectra and
nonlinear model functions are discussed in some detail. Although the main
emphasis is placed on analysis of nuclear spectra, the techniques presented
need· not be limited to this application alone.
/ Thesis / Doctor of Philosophy (PhD)

Value Network Transformation : Digital Service Innovation in the Vehicle IndustryAkram, Asif January 2016 (has links)
Advancement in digital technology is rapidly changing the contemporary landscape of business and associated networks for manufacturing firms. Many traditional physical products are now being embedded with digital components, providing them digital capability to become digitized products. The digitization of physical products has become an important driver for digital service innovation within manufacturing industries. Such digital service innovation transforms value networks of manufacturing firms in various industries. While digitization of products and digital service innovation can be observed in many manufacturing industries, this thesis focuses on the transformation of value networks within the vehicle industry. This thesis is a collection of papers and a cover paper. The thesis reports from a collaborative project in the vehicle industry. The project explored new digital services for vehicles based on remote diagnostics technology. The exploration and conceptualization of digital services is investigated in a collaborative manner with participants from the vehicle industry. The results reflect that there is a paradigm shift for manufacturing firms digitizing their products, and stretching the business scope from product to solution oriented business. This thesis contributes to the existing literature on digital innovation with insights on the transformation of value networks in the vehicle industry. The research question addressed in this thesis is: How are value networks of manufacturing firms transformed by digital service innovation? To answer the question, this thesis conceptualizes how the value creating pattern of digitized products transforms value networks of manufacturing firms. A model is presented that reflects how the symbiotic value relationship between the digitized product and digital services transforms the roles, relationships and exchanges in the value networks of manufacturing firms. The model can serve as an analytical tool to further advance the knowledge on business aspects in digital innovation. This thesis contributes to practice by providing an understanding of how manufacturing firms can leverage value of digitized products and digital services in value networks. / ReDi2Service

Journalists, an excessive profession? : A qualitative study of the changing role of the local journalist.Boström, Josefine January 2016 (has links)
This essay is based on central theories within journalism in an organization. Highlighted theories will we news evaluation, what issues makes it into news. Organization is driven by different goals, the economic goal and the publicist goals. How does the organization work with these goals joined with what the audience want from the organization when the audience has new possibilities to contribute through citizen’s journalism and participatory journalism? Is it possible to se the media user as a threat to or an extra asses for the news organisation when, according to citizen journalism anyone can call them self a journalism without any specific education. The result will be presented from eight qualitative interviews with journalist on local newspapers in Sweden. This is to present how the journalist perceives the changes in journalism as a profession. How do they see the citizen journalists, as an extra recourse or a threat? After guidance through central research and preformed Interviews the essay comes to the conclusion that the role as a journalism in not an excessive role. The work that a journalist produces is important and it is necessary which source the news comes from.

Faça-você-mesmo a digitalização 3D de acervos museológicos / Do-it-yourself the 3D digitization of museological collectionsAlencastro, Yvana Oliveira de January 2018 (has links)
It is understood that by taking a do-it-yourself attitude, as well as appropriation tactics and maker principles, it is possible to approach and interact more museums with contemporary society and can offer a participatory and continuous renewal of processes. All this, without demanding large investments, motivating participants to learn by doing and sharing knowledge. The use of a three-dimensional digitization technique do-it-yourself, in addition to bringing aggregates to the attitude, makes possible the valuation of the museological collection. An object of the collection becomes able to transpose its singularity to reach distances beyond the geographic ones, taking to the public its knowledge for valuation and awareness to safeguard these collections. In this sense, this research contemplates the challenge of proposing design guidelines for the use of do-it-yourself 3D digitization to be used in different types of museums. These guidelines were constructed from information collected in experiments and interviews, later worked through a creative process carried out in a workshop at the Júlio de Castilhos Museum, the oldest museum in Rio Grande do Sul, and, finally, guidelines and results of the workshop will go through a refinement for the creation of a framework of design guidelines. The profile of the institution participating in the research activities was established by its collection variety, because it presents pieces with different physical, chemical and morphological characteristics. The results indicated the opportunity to make the museum's collection more accessible to the public in a safe way, allowing different educational activities, greater availability, scope for research and greater knowledge of the museum's collection.

Speech generating devices and autism : a comparison of digitized and synthetic speech outputRamdoss, Sathiyaprakash Thoppae 24 September 2013 (has links)
Children with autism often experience substantial impairments in the domain of language and communication. Speech generating device (SGD) is one of the widely used augmentative communication systems with this population. The most prevalent speech output systems currently in use with SGDs are digitized and synthetic speech outputs. Advantages and disadvantages of each speech output system exist, and large individual differences in-terms of preference and performance have been speculated in both modalities. There is currently no published research that compares digitized and synthetic speech outputs.
The primary goal of this study is to examine the effects of SGD training using digitized vs. synthetic speech outputs on the acquisition of requesting skills of 4 non-verbal children diagnosed with autism. The study addressed the following research questions. First, are there differences in acquisition rates for requests taught using digitized vs. synthetic speech outputs? Second, do children show a preference for one speech output over other? Finally, Are there any differences in perceived social validity of digitized vs. synthetic speech outputs?
The primary findings of this study were: (1) Differences in the performance were found between two of the participants within each speech output; (2) two of the participants appeared to prefer one speech output over other and one participant could not indicate his preference due to positioning bias; (3) social validity measures indicated favorable ratings for SGD training but no clear indications in-terms of acceptability and usability of speech outputs across different settings. The overall results obtained from this study suggest that speech output can play a significant role, and it is one of the important components that can contribute to the success of the intervention. Additionally, overall outcome suggests that non-verbal children with autism can successfully learn to use the SGDs at their own pace with the support of proper prompting strategies and instructional procedures. / text

Bloggar som kommunikation : inom förskolan, skolan och fritidshemSonntag, My January 2015 (has links)
Parents today can be very stressed at the drop off and pick up of their children, this leads to that they sometimes miss important information that is pinned to the walls for example. Papers has the ability to disappear, a blog collects all in one place. Today, almost everything is digitized. This study has examined what a blog is and how schools and preschools can use it. The blog is used as a communication site for the preschools and school. This exam graduate work is made of three blog analysis, the analysis is made to see if the blogs can help the preschool and school to communicate wiht the parents. The theory I have decided to use in this study is the sociocultural theory. This theory is based on the interaction between society and the induvidual people. Everything that happens aorund us is affecting us. The theory also talks about mediation, mediation is a way to use tools. The tools is used as a way to understand the society or to deciede how to act. Surveys were used to collect the information for my study, the survey was sent to three pedagogues. The pedagogues that I choose is the ones conneted to the blogs I analysed. I used the answers to the surveys for my results. The study had som mixed results, the results of the study was based on the interest from both the parents and the pedagogus. A blog can never be used as the only source too infomration in a school if not both parents and pedagogues is intrested to use it. But a blog can be a very good complememt to only papers.

The postindustrial market increasingly demands service infused products to add more value to the customer in order to be competitive. Much research regarding digitalized services indicates that companies have to be innovative in order to compete on the market. However, companies within different industries face different challenges with digital service development. This study has been conducted because there are little known about the opportunities and the challenges different industries faces with a globalized market. Our research question is what the challenges are and what opportunities does strategic digital service development entails for companies. To be able to understand digitalized services and to answer our research question about these challenges and opportunities we used a qualitative method, gathered data through interviews and literature studies. This study contributes a faceted understanding of digital service development within the electricity industry and an approach to strategic efforts at digital service development and what challenges and opportunities it entails.
