This characteristic is the one responsible for the relationship between these two arts. This strong relationship in the process of adaptation of an art to another. Thinking about it, this dissertation is a study on the adaptation of the novel Dom Casmurro, Machado de Assis to the cinema. For both were chosen to compose the corpus of this research the film Capitu, Paul Cezar Saraceni and the screenplay of the same name written by Lygia Fagundes Telles and Paulo Emilio Salles Gomes. Our goal is to analyze how was the implementation of the narrative from one language to another, observing the treatment given to the novel's structural narrative elements in this process of adaptation. Noting how every artistic expression provides the categories: plot, character and focalization as well as the interpretation generated for each work. In order to support our research we rely on some theoretical and critical literature and cinema. In the analysis of narrative aspects used for both arts, authors of literary theory as the Russian formalist Tomachevski (1976), Genette (s / d), Antonio Candido (2007), Todorov (2008) and criticism related to Dom Casmurro. In relation to the cinema in order to clarify issues regarding the adaptation of theoretical reflections used as Robert Stam (2003), Brian McFarlane (1996), Ismail Xavier (1996; 2003) and João Batista de Brito (1995; 2006; 2007). We conclude that the way events are reordered and presented to us viewers, both the film and the script changed the construction of characters and their relationship with the episodes of the book. / A literatura e o cinema, embora possuam linguagens diferentes, visto que enquanto este se utiliza predominantemente de uma linguagem audiovisual aquela faz uso de uma linguagem verbal, ambos apresentam um traço característico que consiste na possibilidade de narrar um enredo ficcional. Esse traço é um dos responsáveis pela relação existente entre essas duas artes. Relação essa acentuada no processo de adaptação de uma arte para a outra. Pensando nisso, essa dissertação consiste em um estudo sobre a adaptação do romance Dom Casmurro, de Machado de Assis, para o cinema. Para tanto foram escolhidos para compor o corpus dessa pesquisa o filme Capitu, de Paulo Cézar Saraceni e o roteiro homônimo escrito por Lygia Fagundes Telles e Paulo Emilio Salles Gomes. Nosso objetivo é analisar como se deu a transposição da narrativa de uma linguagem para a outra, observando o tratamento cedido a elementos narrativos estruturais do romance nesse processo de adaptação. Verificando como cada expressão artística apresenta as categorias: trama, focalização e personagem, assim como a interpretação gerada por cada obra. A fim de fundamentar a nossa pesquisa nos apoiamos em alguns teóricos e críticos da literatura e do cinema. Nas análises de aspectos narrativos buscamos, para ambas as artes, autores da teoria literária como o formalista russo Tomachevski (1976), Gérard Genette (s/d), Antonio Candido (2007), Todorov (2008) e da crítica referente a Dom Casmurro. Em relação ao cinema, a fim de esclarecer questões referentes à adaptação, utilizamos reflexões de teóricos como Robert Stam (2003), Brian McFarlane (1996), Ismail Xavier (1996; 2003) e João Batista de Brito (1995; 2006; 2007). Concluímos que a forma como os acontecimentos são reordenados e apresentados para nós espectadores, tanto pelo filme quanto pelo roteiro alterou a construção dos personagens e a relação destes com os episódios do livro.

This dissertation presents results of a study whose main objective was to identify and understand the social actions taken by the bishop Don José Vicente Silveira Távora in Sergipe (1958-1970). Such actions were here related to the senses and provisions established in the Brazilian Catholic field since 1930 to 1970 and to the discussion about the social issue that drove the Social Doctrine of the Church in Brazil. We also seek to highlight the following aspects: emergence, strategies, practices, discourses and symbolic goods offered by this bishop. Thus, the analysis of social actions of Dom Távora in Sergipe requires, above all, understanding the senses of that religious field, as well as the positions of the agent within this social sphere in the 1950s and 1960s, a period under the sign of the genesis of the catholic left and of its transformative ambitions. It s supposed that the social actions implemented by Dom Távora in Sergipe are directly associated with the defense of a Church model, which is manifested by the reform faction of the Brazilian clergy to which he was linked. Moreover, it s noted that the pictures attributed to him were the result of a construction career in defense of a direct action of the Church regarding the social issue, as well as its proximity to the intellectual and political field in Brazil. / Esta dissertação apresenta os resultados de uma pesquisa cujo objetivo principal foi identificar e compreender as ações de cunho social empreendidas pelo prelado Dom José Vicente Silveira Távora em Sergipe (1958-1970). Tais ações foram, aqui, relacionadas aos sentidos e disposições instituídas no campo católico brasileiro no intervalo de 1930 a 1970 e ao debate acerca da questão social que impulsionou a Doutrina Social da Igreja no Brasil. Busca-se também, evidenciar os seguintes aspectos: emergência, estratégias, práticas, discursos e bens simbólicos oferecidos por este prelado. Assim, a análise das ações sociais de Dom Távora em Sergipe pressupõe, antes de tudo, a compreensão dos sentidos do referido campo religioso, bem como, da posição deste agente no interior desta esfera social nas décadas de 1950 e 1960, período sob o signo da gênese da esquerda católica e suas ambições transformadoras. Pressupõe-se que as ações sociais implantadas por Dom Távora em Sergipe estão diretamente associadas à defesa de um modelo de Igreja manifestado pela facção reformista do clero brasileiro ao qual ele estava vinculado. Ademais, é percebido que as imagens a ele atribuídas foram fruto de uma construção de carreira em defesa de uma ação direta da Igreja com relação à questão social, bem como de sua aproximação com o campo intelectual e político no Brasil.

Esta dissertação apresenta os resultados de uma análise de Dom Casmurro que levou à conclusão de que a ironia é princípio constitutivo do romance. A ironia explica como a duplicidade efetiva da obra não a impede de se erigir como um todo artístico objetivo. Procuramos mostrar como são conjugadas duas causalidades de natureza diversa: uma, que ocupa o primeiro plano da obra, é expressão da interpretação que o narrador personagem confere à própria existência e contém elementos naturalistas tanto na articulação do enredo, como nas concepções em que se baseia. A outra, que abrange a primeira e a desqualifica, ergue-se a contrapelo e associa a ação recíproca entre personagens às forças histórico-sociais que os pressionam. Ao final, vemos que a ironia age em três níveis interdependentes: na articulação formal, nas concepções que lhe servem de base e no caráter dos personagens. O resultado é um romance que inclui elementos da ideologia conservadora para figurá-los como preconceitos. Essa constituição confere à narrativa a capacidade de enredar o pensamento conservador, que encontra nela motivo de se expor abertamente / This dissertation presents the results of an analysis of Dom Casmurro which has drawn the conclusion that irony is a constitutive principle of the novel. Irony is what explains how the effective duplicity of the story does not prevent it from being constructed as a complete artistic object. We have worked to demonstrate how the two causalities, while of diverse nature, are actually conjugated. The first, occupying the foreground, is the expression of the interpretation the first person narrator confers on his own existence. It also contains naturalistic elements not only in the plot articulation but also in the conceptions on which it is based. The second one, which both includes and disqualifies the first, emerges in spite of the latter and associates the reciprocal actions between the characters and the socio-historical forces which push them. In the end, it can be clearly seen that irony acts in three interdependent levels: in the formal articulation, in the conceptions on which it is based, and on the characters\' actions and disposition. The result is a novel which includes elements of conservative ideology, to reveal them as prejudice. This constitution confers on the narrative the ability to entangle conservative thinking, which finds in the novel a reason to expose itself openly

\"Dom Casmurro sem Dom Casmurro\" tem como objetivo analisar o roteiro que a escritora Lygia Fagundes Telles e o crítico de cinema Paulo Emílio Salles Gomes fizeram a partir do livro Dom Casmurro de Machado de Assis para o filme Capitu (1968) do cineasta Paulo Cezar Saraceni. O livro que traz o tratamento do roteiro foi publicado pela Editora Siciliano, em 1993. A proposta do trabalho é comparar roteiro e obra, tendo como base os pontos principais levantados pela fortuna crítica do escritor, sobretudo os textos de Roberto Schwarz e John Gledson, e buscar um sentido, interpretar o conjunto de diferenças verificadas na passagem do livro ao roteiro para tentar entender a que tipo de leitura do romance de Machado de Assis as grandes e pequenas modificações promovidas pelo roteiro servem. / The aim of \"Dom Casmurro Without Dom Casmurro\" is to analyze the script written by author Lygia Fagundes Telles and film critic Paulo Emílio Salles Gomes based on the book Dom Casmurrro by Machado de Assis for the film Capitu (1968), by filmmaker Paulo Cezar Saraceni. The book containing the script was published by Editora Siciliano in 1993. This thesis will compare the screenplay and the book based on the central issues arising from the writer\'s critical fortune - especially the texts by Roberto Schwarz and John Gledson - and find a meaning as well as interpret the differences found in the adaptation in order to try to understand how the large and small changes in the screenplay can offer a different interpretation of Machado de Assis\' novel.

Com o intuito de aproximar as Literaturas Portuguesa e Brasileira, mais especificamente Machado de Assis e Eça de Queirós, este trabalho procura elucidar pontos de convergência e de divergência na elaboração e utilização da simbologia literária num estudo comparado da construção e personificação das casas em Dom Casmurro e Os Maias, relevando os aspectos em que a simbologia das casas em Eça (O Ramalhete e a Toca) e Machado (Matacavalos) é antitética ou análoga. Além da simbologia das casas e sua personificação, aborda- -se ainda a copiosa exploração dos símbolos ligados a nomes próprios, cores, números e objetos, integrados todos para construir a riqueza narrativa das duas obras, e procura-se traçar um paralelo de algumas semelhanças literárias de criação, a par de contrastes igualmente detectados. / The purpose of this study is to draw Brazilian and Portuguese literature closer to each other, especially two authors of indisputable value - Machado de Assis and Eça de Queirós - by showing points in which they converge and diverge while creating and using literary symbols. Conceived as a comparative study on the elaboration and personification of the dwellings where much of the action takes place (Ramalhete and Toca in Os Maias and Matacavalos in Dom Casmurro), it points out the aspects in which symbology is antithetic or analogous. Besides the symbology and personification of the dwellings, there is also an extensive analysis of the symbols connected to proper names, colours, numbers and objects - all woven together to form the narrative richness of each novel - and a parallel between similarities and contrasts detected in them.

Denna studie undersöker skillnader i svarstid mellan komponentbaserade SinglePage Applications i ReactJS och i LitElement. LitElement bygger på webbkomponenter som använder sig av Shadow DOM. ReactJS använder sig istället av Virtual DOM. Problemet är att virtual DOM kan orsaka en stor kostnad i beräkningskraft vid utveckling av större projekt. För att undersöka hur denna kostnad i beräkningskraft påverkar svarstiden för ReactJS i jämförelse medLitElement utförs ett experiment i en kontrollerad miljö. Resultatet blev att LitElement har en säkerställd lägre svarstid än ReactJS. Slutsatsen som drogs var att anledningen till denna skillnad i svarstid beror på kostnad i beräkningskraft förReactJS vid uppdatering av data . Vidare testning av detta fenomen, exempelvis fler mätserier eller funktioner skulle kunna vara ett framtida arbete. Andra framtida arbeten för att bredda denna studie kan även vara att undersöka skillnad vid användning av mobila enheter, applikationerna i kombination med databas ,mätning av utvecklingstid och mätning av användarupplevelse

Mercury (Hg) transport in streams is typically facilitated by dissolved organic matter (DOM), however, the dynamics of Hg and DOM during snowmelt in montane watersheds are poorly understood. Hg transport during snowmelt is widely recognized as a significant source of Hg to downstream lakes and reservoirs, such as Jordanelle Reservoir where fish consumption advisories are in effect due to elevated Hg concentrations in certain species of fish. For this study, total mercury (THg), methylmercury (MeHg), and DOM samples were collected at three sites in the upper Provo River, northern Utah, during the 2016 and 2017 water years. To evaluate Hg and DOM sources, samples were collected from snowpack and ephemeral streams in the watershed. In-situ fluorescent DOM (fDOM) data and other parameters were measured in the river to characterize high-frequency variation in water chemistry. Excitation-emissions matrices (EEMs) were used to determine changes in DOM characteristics during snowmelt. Hg concentrations increased in the upper Provo River from /L during baseflow to >;7 ng/L during the snowmelt period (~April-July), with filtered THg concentrations approximately ~75% of the unfiltered concentrations. In the watershed, filtered THg concentrations ranged from ~0.4 ng/L in snowpack to ~8 ng/L in ephemeral streams. Annual THg loading from the Provo River to Jordanelle Reservoir was approximately 1 kg/yr with ~90% of the flux occurring during the snowmelt period. High correlations between filtered THg and fDOM allowed for the development of a high frequency filtered THg proxy using in-situ fDOM sensors. DOM characteristic during the snowmelt period showed that Hg transport was facilitated by humic substances which was sourced from upland soils. Fractions of filtered methylmercury (MeHg) and filtered THg (filtered MeHG:filtered THg) were ~0.1 during baseflow and reduced to ~0.01 during snowmelt, implying that snowmelt runoff has little impact on the MeHg flux to Jordanelle Reservoir. The results suggest that Hg and DOM are flushed from soils during snowmelt, and that a significant majority of the Hg flux occurs the snowmelt period. Our study has implications for understanding Hg sources and transport mechanisms in other snowmelt dominated watersheds.

The investigation focused some traces, like the presence of the passions (pathos), in scenic arts as well as hybridation of musical and textual languages in the approach to the daily routine lived by Dom Casmurro. It was analysed also the integration of some communication elements typical of the opera gender which can be found in this novel Dom Casmurro such as gesture, music, word, building up the characters through a photographic frame which freezes at the same time as it moves on acts and expressions. The complexity of the novel has required specific theories for the analytical purpose. So, in order to discuss the Dramaticity in the Word it was required to convoke Nietzsche, Gledson, Kerman, Borheim, Coli. In the chapter Between the draw of gestures and the colour of the Words , the dissertation is supported by the theories of Guinsburg, Barthes, Roubine and Delgado. In the third chapter, The Reminded Image and the Musicality in the Word we have found background in Bergson, Bachelard and Seincman. In this analytical an interpretative way, sharing subjectivity with different authors the novel Dom Casmurro, as well as in the opera, revealed itself to be garnished of a memorialistic musicality, supported by memories which interferes in the telling and retelling one s lived experiences. The presence of the opera is observed when it touches the reader s passions when poetry goes thru the spectator linking musical and textual languages. As well as in the cenic 9 arts, Dom Casmurro is a text which is permeated by gestures and words in conflict or not, building up the characters thru his memories and imagination, inviting the reader/spectator to rebuild, Bentinho s life / A presente dissertação, articulada de acordo com a proposta do Programa de Estudos Pós-Graduados em Literatura e Crítica Literária, tem como objetivo principal desvelar a presença da ópera no romance Dom Casmurro de Machado de Assis, articulando as relações entre as linguagens literária e cênica, desvelando a significação oculta pelo fingir da casmurrice. Para tal investigação fizemos um recorte em torno de algumas marcas como a presença das paixões (pathos), traço presente nas artes cênicas e a hibridização entre linguagem musical e textual na aproximação com o cotidiano vivido por Dom Casmurro. Também analisamos a integração de alguns meios de comunicação típicos da ópera e presentes no romance Dom Casmurro como o gesto, a música, a palavra, a construção de personagens pelo enquadramento fotográfico que, ao mesmo tempo em que congela, movimenta atos e expressões. As questões acima arroladas são discutidas nos três capítulos que compõem a dissertação, reunidas pelos temas: A Dramaticidade da Palavra, onde discorreremos acerca do drama permeando a narrativa de Dom Casmurro. Entre o Debuxo dos Gestos e o Colorido das Palavras, capítulo no qual analisaremos a ambigüidade existente entre os sinais expressivos, fala e gesto, que se contradizem no romance em questão, assim como nas artes cênicas. Finalmente no último capítulo, A Imagem Lembrada e a Musicalidade da Palavra, discutiremos a formação de um discurso narrativo baseado na memória e imaginação de Dom Casmurro, uma vez que está recontando seu viver, assim como na música, que, quando encerrada, só pode reconstituir-se em nossa mente através de uma reelaboração subjetiva. 7 Estas temáticas integram-se, unindo as pontas da dramaticidade na conclusão do trabalho, onde vinculamos as questões discutidas na dissertação. Dada a complexidade da obra em questão tornou-se necessária, para sua análise, a busca de teorias requeridas. Assim, para discutir a Dramaticidade na Palavra, recorremos a Nietzsche, Gledson, Kerman, Borheim, Coli. Em Entre o Debuxo dos gestos e o Colorido das Palavras, pudemos apoiar nossa teoria em Guinsburg, Barthes, Roubine, Delgado. No capítulo 3, A Imagem Lembrada e a Musicalidade da Palavra, encontramos respaldo em Bergson, Bachelard, Seincman. Istraživanje je zasnova-<br />no na razumevanju pojmova stana i doma kroz različite diskurse.<br />Multidisciplinarnim pristupom uspostavljene su mnoge istražene<br />veze između životnih stilova i savremenih informacionih i komuni-<br />kacionih tehnologija, koje utiču na promenu koncepta stanovanja i stva-<br />ranje mnoštva različitih atmosfera stana. Ovo mnoštvo je u radu<br />korišćeno ne samo kao metodološko načelo, već je posmatrano i kao<br />materijalno mnoštvo različitih oblika stanovanja koje treba prepo-<br />znati kroz diskurse o stanovanju. Promišljanjem ove pojave shvata se<br />da su singularnosti (npr. stambena jedinica) istovremeno i mnoštva,<br />odnosno da je svaki stan uvek jedno konkretno postojanje, kroz koje<br />struji (a pogotovo danas) mnoštvo arhitektonskih diskursa.</p> / <p>This thesis explores in detail the relationships between function and form of<br />contemporary dwelling, as well as the changes it goes through. It is based on<br />understanding the notions of the dwelling and home through different<br />discourses. Multidisciplinary approach established many explored connections<br />between life styles and contemporary Information and Communication<br />Technologies, which affect the change of the concept of a dwelling and<br />creation of many different atmospheres within a dwelling. This multitude is<br />used here as the methodological principle but is also observed as the<br />material myriad of different forms of housing that should be recognized<br />through discourses on dwelling. Reflecting on this phenomenon it is recognized<br />that singularities (i.e. dwelling unit) are also multitudes at the same<br />time, therefore every dwelling is always one concrete existence that has<br />many architectural discourses streaming through it, especially today.</p>

In the present work we suggest and test new process of web information extraction. Proposed method consider DOM tree of the web page including it's visual cues. Basic and the rst part is semantic parts extraction of a page using VIPS algorithm. Next step is validation and eventual modication of gained information based on the local context. Final part is classication of analyzing page into predened classes using got facts. Set of critics implemented by congurable instances of neural networks determine the classes.
