The present work discusses the process of learning of free hand drawing and, particularly, the construction of personal languages in this form of expression. Interviews made with ten drawers and the reading of texts related to the drawing and its learning are the base upon which reflective essays are made, that propose a look at this learning as a personal experience of each individual person, but with possible references for the understanding of general ways of learning to draw as well as of its pedagogy. Besides the introduction e the final notes, this master dissertation has five parts dealing with questions as the relation between drawing and body, the learning by means of the copy of drawings, the pleasure in the personal construction of languages and the possible role of techniques in the teaching of drawing, with considerations on drawing pedagogy and a systematization of the process of development of the author as a teacher of classes of free hand drawing.

Development of Electrical Push Open / Utveckling av elektrisk push open för lådor

Hultqvist, Johan January 2013 (has links)
One of the main goals when designing new furniture today is to make life easier for the user of the product, for this reason the electrical push open has been developed. In the present day it is mostly used in the kitchen environment in both drawers and doors. The function of an electrical push open is to open a drawer or door automatically when the user gives the drawer or the door a small push. The objects of the project have been to develop concepts of electrical push opens, build a simple prototype, conduct a cost analysis and to make a function description of the push open. Delimitations of the project were to focus on a TV-bench and not focus on developing the software for the push open. The project was conducted in five different phases. The first phase was to define the problem and gather the information needed for the rest of the project. The final stage of this phase was to define the requirements for the new product. The second phase started with the development of concepts that could fulfill the requirements. Through extensive screening and evaluation of the concepts three concepts were chosen to further development. In the third phase these concepts were developed further and re-evaluated resulting in one final concept. The fourth phase of the project was to build prototypes to use for testing, based on the result of the tests the concept was re-designed and more tests were conducted. The fifth phase started when the tests were passed. In this phase the concept was further developed and the dimensions and the material of the parts decided. The final work that was done was to make a cost analysis to investigate if this type of product is something worth further development. The developed concept works as intended, however it will require more work before it can be manufactured. The objective of this Master of Science thesis was fulfilled; conceptual designs of an electrical push open was developed, a working prototype was built and the cost analysis and function description of the push open was generated.

Framtagning av lådorganisering för höga kökslådor / Development of drawer organization for large kitchen drawers

Nguyen, Si Vay January 2022 (has links)
The kitchen is a gathering place where family and friends can socialize. This is also where most of the cooking takes place. Cooking a meal can be both time consuming and stressful. By having order among kitchen utensils and food supplies, time can be saved on not having to go and look around in the kitchen. In today's modern kitchen, kitchen utensils and food are stored in pull-out kitchen drawers. These are spacious and the space in the kitchen drawers is very much based on height, which can be problematic. For example, if tall things are not stored in the kitchen drawers, a lot of unused spaces can be created. In this work, the problem of unused space in larger modern kitchen drawers will be solved by developing a product that increases the use of the unused space. The purpose of this work is to develop a product that makes organization in modern kitchen drawers easier. The goal is to find a solution in the form of a stackable drawer system for storing kitchen utensils. To develop a product, a product development is undergone that goes through processes from identifying customer needs to creating a finished prototype. Calculations are made to ensure that the product can withstand loads. The finished prototype is presented in the form of an organization system that consists of two levels. The organization system is adaptable and consists of drawers that can be stacked and moved around with the aim of helping the user to get a better organization in the kitchen drawers.

Customer Perceptions of Child Safety towards Residential Furniture

Zhu, Yajie January 2018 (has links)
With the nature of exploring and less awareness of danger, furniture at home has been causing various kinds of child injury all over the world. Furniture tipping over is one emerging cause among children under 6 years old. Despite of the importance of child safety, it lacks evidence about people’s perceptions of child safety towards residential furniture. Hence, this thesis used the theory of consumer behaviour to identify factors that can potentially effect perceptions and applied quantitative and qualitative methods to find out perceived importance of child safety when people buy furniture and how people perceive child safety in a given case. It has been found that people perceive child safety much less important when buying furniture not specifically for children. Some factors, such as age, income have influence on it. In the given case of chest of drawers, when perceived to be more likely to tip over, people are more willing to anchor a chest of drawers. It has also found that a three-row and shallow type has mixed perceptions. When the weight of a chest is perceived to be more important, people agree more on the statement that a heavier chest of drawers is less likely to tip over. Although anchoring is considered to be an efficient way of preventing tipping over, results showed that it is not a preferred way for most people. Further study is needed to find out other ways. Information of child safety is welcomed by most of the people. More research can be done to find out effective ways of displaying child safety information.
