Uma leitura discursiva sobre os modos de funcionamento do sil?ncio no livro did?tico de L?ngua Portuguesa

Lima, Fl?gila Marinho da Silva 17 May 2015 (has links)

No. of bitstreams: 1 UMA LEITURA DISCURSIVA SOBRE OS MODOS DE FUNCIONAMENTO DO SIL?NCIO NO LIVRO DID?TICO DE L?NGUA PORTUGUESA.pdf: 12035455 bytes, checksum: e8cadd87174989ac56bc13440d970fb0 (MD5) Previous issue date: 2015-05-17 / This present work aims to reflect about silence in the process of reading proposed by the Schoolbook, it is based on the analysis of activities and modules in a Portuguese Language Schoolbook. It is grounded on the postulates of Pech?ux?s Discourse Analysis and aims to discuss how the silence constitutes senses alternating from interdiction and also stimulation to polysemy of discourse in the Schoolbook. Its corpus was constituted of two Portuguese Language Schoolbooks, Elementary II, from the ?Cole??o Di?logo? of FTD editor. In order to do the analysis, textual interpretation activities were analyzed aiming to verify the silence functioning based on the interdiction of the imaginary reader-subject and the control of the sense. We also analyzed two modules of the school book in order to observe the silencing in them. Our initial hypotheses is that he silence guides the constitution of the senses in these manuals, since it interdicts the access of the subject to different senses, guiding it to the interpretation and reducing it to a mere copy causing the imaginary reader-subject has no opening for interpretation gestures. Thus, these manuals understand sense as something already done and completed and the silence works by signalizer ideological positions of the Schoolbook. The results show that he activities related to reading, in the school books, are on the level of paraphrase without instigating, in the most part of the questions analyzed, a passage towards the polysemy, blocking the student?s perception of plurality of senses which might be linked to the text. On this position, the book is inserted in a discursive formation of unique senses, shaped subjects and, consequently, in an ideology which understands language as transparent. It is also possible notice that the constitutive silence is the source of discursive and ideological affiliations about the black, white and Indian representation since they are inserted in a dominant ideology which understands the indian as ?good salvage?, the black people are folkloric are the white one is always related to work.

This essay is a discussion about how English teachers in the Swedish school system can use Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice to encourage awareness and reflection in students regarding issues of class division and its impact on society. The essay provides examples of how the contemporary Swedish society and the society depicted in Pride and Prejudice share both similarities and differences in issues regarding class division. Le mystère et le fantastique au service du bien dans l’œuvre romanesque d’Iris Murdoch : The Bell, A Severed Head, The Italian Girl, Bruno’s Dream et Jackson’s Dilemma / The Fantastic and the Mysterious to the benefit of the Good in Iris Murdoch’s novels : The Bell, A Severed Head, The Italian Girl, Bruno’s Dream and Jackson’s Dilemma

Guionnet, Catherine 12 June 2015 (has links)
A number of reviewers have dealt with the fantastic character of Iris Murdoch’s novels, others have mentioned the Good. In this study we have aimed at linking both notions to show, in five of her novels: A Severed Head, The Bell, The Italian Girl, Bruno’s Dream and Jackson’s Dilemma, that through the ‘Fantastic’ Iris Murdoch leads her reader on the way to the “Good”.In the first part, after giving a definition of the word ‘fantastic’ we have selected all the elements that point towards the fantastic features in Iris Murdoch’s writings. Starting with the optical illusion, we have shown that the ‘Fantastic’ originates from a break in reality which gives birth to fear, doubt, dream and madness. We have then analyzed the symbols that characterize the genre. In the second part, we have examined the role of the reader in Iris Murdoch’s novels and we have tried to understand in what way the ‘Fantastic’ could influence readers. In the last part we have shown that Iris Murdoch relies on the “Fantastic” and the unexplainable aspect of human beings to lead her reader on the way to the “Good”. Contingency- that is admitting that not everything can have an explanation- which Iris Murdoch sees as of paramount importance, forces the reader to realize that he cannot master his destiny. Therefore the reader cannot do anything other than let go and stop putting forward a blind ego. He or she then becomes a humble man, able to feel an altruistic love that will take him or her on the way to the Good in which death, love and literature are connected.

Perglerová, Jitka January 2020 (has links)
The presented diploma thesis maps the situation of contemporary child's reading. It deals with the factors which form the child reader externally (especially family, school and libraries, or the projects supporting child's reading). The main part of the thesis presents an analysis of the contemporary poetry for children. It examines how the books can influence the readers and motivate them for further reading. For the text analysis, the books of poetry which were awarded in competitions of Zlatá stuha or Magnesia Litera in 2013-2017 were selected as representative samples, namely Poetický slovníček dětem v příkladech, Všelijaké řečičky pro kluky a holčičky and Moře slané vody by Radek Malý, Tetovaná teta by Daniela Fischerová, Vynálezárium by Robin Král and Hlava v hlavě by David Böhm and Ondřej Buddeus. An exploratory investigation into the status of reading promotion projects in South Africa

Chizwina, Sabelo Ransome 01 March 2012 (has links)
This dissertation reports on an exploratory study investigating the landscape of reading promotion projects in South Africa. The study identifies, categorises and describes reading promotion projects. Reading promotion projects are important in that they promote access to reading and improve reading comprehension. The literature review deals with reading, reading promotion and the approaches to reading promotion used by reading promotion projects worldwide. These projects use different methods in the promotion of reading. The two main approaches to reading promotion identified are the reader-centred and book-centred. Methods used to promote reading include mobile libraries, reading campaigns and reading clubs. This study discusses reading promotion projects in South Africa using the content analysis method. Documents concerning reading promotion projects in the country were identified and analysed, using content analysis. The findings indicate that reading promotion projects exist in South Africa. Seventy seven reading promotion projects were identified and analysed. Findings reveal that most projects were managed by local or international non-governmental organisations. The beneficiaries are mostly school going children. These projects use a variety of methods to promote reading with the most common methods being mobile libraries and book donations. The study concludes that the picture of reading promotion in South Africa is bleak. There is little government support, haphazard funding, projects are unevenly distributed, and there is no research in the field. Unless there is support for reading promotion from the highest level of government in South Africa, reading promotion will remain bleak. The Gendered Envisionments Of Reading The Poet X : Understanding Students' Meaning Making in Swedish EFL Classrooms

Andersson, Marcus January 2022 (has links)
This essay applies theories from gender studies and reader response to Elizabeth Acevedo’s The Poet X (2018). The essay discusses diversity in meaning making by investigating differences in creating envisionments. The aim is to unmask the differences in reading to improve and direct teaching practices in EFL classrooms. Moreover, an additional aim is to discuss whether envisionment can be seen as a gendered concept, or if the different readings are equally possible to reach Langer’s five stances. The Poet X centres on a female first-person narrator where the critique towards church, society and normative behaviour is prominent. The potential differences can be seen in understanding the characters in the novel, relating to previous experience and differing understandings of social structures. The pedagogical implementation aims at designing a learning situation where these differing understandings of text can be shared through metacognitive reflection and open-ended methods of pedagogy. The shared understanding of The Poet X in EFL settings can develop the students’ ability to find agency in interpretating texts.
