Previous issue date: 2013-12-10 / The researcher's experience as Educational Manager led him to this research. The objective of this Master's thesis was to present some elements in order to expand awareness of Educational Managers, including the study of interdisciplinary assumptions in their education. The researcher made use of narrative tools and deepened his research on new propositions about historical aspects of the area of Administration. This study shows that in the 80s academic research began to present more significant and innovative thinking concerning schools, especially when dealing with Educational Management. It was found that the pursuit of improved information, knowledge and development in the paths towards educational qualification is quite large. The Graduate program expansions contributed to the advancement of research on School Management, and there have been changes in the field of Educational Management in the past ten years, for example, professionals invited to hold the position of Educational Manager could no longer meet the needs required by conventional university courses. Teachers, students quickly noticed the incompetence of this professional bringing many problems for the institution which ultimately dismisses and replaces him/her with another. There are still cases of hiring professionals to perform the coordination function without having training or domain regarding the area they will guide, which cause problems for the institution / A experiência de mais de 10 anos do pesquisador, como Gestor Educacional, levou-o a esta dissertação de Mestrado.

This study aimed to analyze the beliefs (belief systems) of educational administrators regarding bullying. Participants were teachers, coordinators, principals and vice-principals of two schools of municipal schools. The literature points out educators as key professionals in the school intervention for violence, and beliefs relevant to understanding the process of managing this environment. A qualitative methodology was carried out and educators answered a semi-structured interview. The treatment of the interviews was done using the technique of content analysis. The results show a strong tendency of educators in consider the parents or guardians of children absent in the socialization process and formal education of students. This belief is linked to other ones regarding management of bullying, and the absence of family as a deterrent to the effectiveness of any intervention process at school. Family-related beliefs are related to low quality in parenting and little emotional contact with the child. Accordingly, the study findings points out relevant factors to be considered in future school anti-bullying interventions, both the training of educators and family participation in the process.

This research had as its object of study the formation of the educational manager for basic education in two Mercosur countries: Brazil and Argentina. The main objective was to verify whether the reciprocity educational agreements signed in 1991 were implemented by the graduate courses for educational administrators, offered by two universities Mercosur: one in Jequie, Bahia, Brazil and one in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The theoretical training on the educational management was based in the national and international literature, and protocols, agreements, reciprocity agreements signed within Mercosur, as well as educational laws of both countries. The leadership task of grade heads at a private secondary in GautengVoyadjis, Mary 02 1900 (has links)
The study involves an in-depth case study on the leadership task of the grade heads at a private secondary school in Gauteng with the main research problem arising as: After defining the leadership task of grade heads at a private secondary school in Gauteng, how important do the learners in the grade view the individual grade head tasks to be? From the mixed-method research conducted, it stems that the leadership tasks of the grade head (and also the grade head system as a whole) have a positive impact on the learners and the holistic school environment. Therefore, it is recommended that the particular school under study continue with the structure of grade seven roles of the teacher as this provides a clear background for an organised educative approach to leadership within a grade head system.heads and that the leadership roles of the grade head continue to function within the seven roles of the teacher as this provides a clear background for an organised educative approach to leadership within a grade head system. / Educational Management and Leadership / M.A. (Education Management)

Previous issue date: 2009-06-24 / The objective of this thesis is to investigate how people Appropriate digital technologies, more specifically, to reveal and to understand how this process takes place. Initially the use of the term Appropriation was studied in different knowledge areas. The practical work included the study of the training course "Projeto Gestão Escolar e Tecnologias" (School and Technologies Management Project) and the data used was the text extracts from the "Memoriais Reflexivos" (Reflexive Memorials) produced by educational managers who participated in the course. These extracts were analyzed, categorized, compiled and submitted to a new analysis, using a multidimensional statistical method performed by the software CHIC- Coercion, Implication and Hierarchic Classification. The software generated similarity trees and the numbers of occurrences of the specified categories. Bar charts were then elaborated based on these numbers, using Excel. Based upon the analysis of all this information the result showed that: the presence of orientation principles of the Complex Thought, indicating that the process of technological Appropriation is a Complex process; the relations established among the person, the object and the "other", signaling that technological Appropriation is not in the person nor in the technologies itself, but it is in the relations established among them; and the Appropriation is configured as a spiral in an ascending movement, which happens as part of the computer mediation, peers and the course professors. This confirms, therefore, that the digital technologies Appropriation is a Relational, Complex and Spiral process, which is constituted in levels, although singular in its identities, they are part of a unique movement. At the base of this process it is the Emotional level which supports the existence of other levels such as Imitation,, Relation- Communication, Relation-Information, Reflective-Relation/Expression and Selfeducation. The Emotional level is not related to the Technical-Operational level. The identification, the comprehension and the understanding of these levels, will be able to contribute to the educators' training actions or to other segments that have digital technologies as one of the supports for its accomplishment, to use these technologies as communication, information and expression means, allowing the students to appropriate them. Another result is to extend to the persons who have not appropriated the technologies, but who are trying to look for means to the realization of their emotions (MATURANA, 2001) / O presente trabalho tem como objetivo mostrar como ocorre a Apropriação das
educacionais, participantes do curso.
A identificação, a compreensão e o

Theory of Complexity based on Transdisciplinarity and Ecossistemic Thought to
online formation of educational manager of brazilian public schools. It is linked to
RIES (Red Internacional de Ecología de los Saberes), which defends the humanist
approach as an alternative to the contradictions of globalization and neoliberals
practices, which is based on the high value set on the capitalistic logic and on the low
value set on the citizens construction and its ethic values, as well as an holistic,
happy and sustainable formation. The RIES has Ten Steps about Transdisciplinarity
and Ecoformation, searching for new principles and practices to reinvent education.
The research is specifically linked to the item number eight of Ten Steps, which is
related to the formation of the citizens in the Knowledge Society. It starts from the
principle that the formation of educational manager is in a context of structural
transformations and, consequently, the traditional methods of teaching and learning
need to be totally changed, considering the new opportunities offered by
Technologies of Information and Communication (TIC) in the Knowledge Society.
Developing a formation-research about the experience of continuous formation of
educational manager in Programa Escola de Gestores, developed by a brazilian
public university, this research studies how the educational manager can build the
necessary knows of his profession, observing and analyzing the contribution of virtual
environment on his formation, including meta cognitive process / O problema desta pesquisa acadêmica consiste em investigar a
formação a esfera metacognitiva

A phenomenological reflection on the role of the school principal as educational manager and instructional leader in Limpopo ProvinceMamabolo, Caroline Sejeng 30 June 2002 (has links)
The aim of the research was to reflect phenomenologically on the role of the school principal as educational manager and instructional leader in enhancing a culture of teaching and learning in schools, and to reflect critically on this state of affairs in Limpopo Province. A literature study was undertaken to expose problems that deter principals from fulfilling these roles. Qualitative research in the form of ideograms, as well as, unstructured interviews with principles, was used to elicit principals' views concerning how they perceive their roles in an attempt to enhance a culture of teaching and learning in schools.
Research findings indicated that principalship is beset with many problems which have to be addressed in order to restore the collapsed culture of teaching and learning in schools.
Results revealed among other issues that:
- The training of principals for the introduction of Outcomes Based Education in schools was not well carried out. It was incomprehensible for the Education Department to exclude principals from the training when the whole system of teaching and learning was supposed to change with the introduction of Outcomes Based Education
- The redeployment and rationalisation of teachers has given rise to many complicated problems in schools, leaving teachers demoralised and being a major cause of job dissatisfaction for principals
The research findings revealed that the role of principals as educational managers and instructional leaders in Limpopo Province is not authentically enacted. Recommendations include among other issues that:
- The Department of Education in Limpopo Province review the implementation of Outcomes Based Education, particularly the training of principals
- Attention should be given to problems arising from the process of redeployment and rationalisation of teachers in schools
- There is a need for ongoing, effective and in-service lifelong training for teachers, principals and the School Governing Body with regard to education management.
Attention to these issues, amongst others, it is proposed, will contribute to the effective implementation of the role of school principals as educational managers and instructional leaders, particularly in Limpopo Province. This will reinforce the desired culture of teaching and learning in schools. / Educational Studies / D. Ed. (Philosophy of Education)
