Strukturering och dokumentation av en produktionsprocess : En fallstudie om klassificering av kritiska artiklar samt risker / Structuring and documentation of a production process : A case study regarding classification of critical parts and risks

Milsten, Jonas, Svensson, Anton January 2020 (has links)
In many organizations around the world, the need to manage and structure information is a growing factor. This is possible with a system support, in which documentation of processes within a company can be handled. With potential risks in focus, the purpose of this study is to gain a deeper understanding of how production and material management processes in a company can be structured and to develop a foundation for today's production and procurement processes. The study is a case study in which the documentation at the company is to be increased through a time study, ABC-classification and a discussion of risks with Kraljic's matrix as a base. The result shows shorter production times, that few modules and articles are cost-bearing in production and that today's working methods cause major risks. As a concept for increasing documentation, linking processes at the company and eliminating these risks, the authors recommend Training Within Industry, which concludes the report.

Zakir Hussain, Tharik, Manavalan, Paul Johny January 2023 (has links)
The door manufacturing industry still heavily relies on manual technology for its production and quality assurance systems, which poses certain challenges. However, in recent years, the industry has witnessed a growing demand for personalized products, leading to a need for more adaptable production methods and shorter product life cycles. Unfortunately, this reliance on manual technologies has resulted in increased errors and inaccuracies. Moreover, manual technology requires significant time and effort investment, which reduces production efficiency and product quality. To address these issues, the purpose of this thesis is to address the issue of inefficiency at a door manufacturing company by examining its existing production systems and quality assurance system. The thesis aims to provide recommendations for improvement by exploring the integration of automated tracing and tracking technology. Furthermore, it would result in recommendations for feasible methods that may be used in Swedish production systems, as well as further study fields.

A new programming model for enterprise software : Allowing for rapid adaption and supporting maintainability at scale

Höffl, Marc January 2017 (has links)
Companies are under constant pressure to adapt and improve their processes to staycompetitive. Since most of their processes are handled by software, it also needs toconstantly change. Those improvements and changes add up over time and increase thecomplexity of the system, which in turn prevents the company from further adaption. In order to change and improve existing business processes and their implementation withinsoftware, several stakeholders have to go through a long process. Current IT methodologies arenot suitable for such a dynamic environment. The analysis of this change process shows thatfour software characteristics are important to speed it up. They are: transparency, adaptability, testability and reparability. Transparency refers to the users capability to understand what thesystem is doing, where and why. Adaptability is a mainly technical characteristic that indicatesthe capability of the system to evolve or change. Testability allows automated testing andvalidation for correctness without requiring manual checks. The last characteristic is reparability, which describes the possibility to bring the system back into a consistent and correct state, evenif erroneous software was deployed. An architecture and software development patterns are evaluated to build an overall programmingmodel that provides the software characteristics. The overall architecture is basedon microservices, which facilitates decoupling and maintainability for the software as well asorganizations. Command Query Responsibility Segregation decouples read from write operationsand makes data changes explicit. With Event Sourcing, the system stores not only the currentstate, but all historic events. It provides a built-in audit trail and is able to reproduce differentscenarios for troubleshooting and testing.A demo process is defined and implemented within multiple prototypes. The design of theprototype is based on the programming model. It is built in Javascript and implements Microservices,CQRS and Event Sourcing. The prototypes show and validate how the programmingmodel provides the software characteristics. Software built with the programming model allowscompanies to iterate faster at scale. Since the programming model is suited for complex processes, the main limitation is that the validation is based on a demo process that is simpler and thebenefits are hard to quantify.

Contextualizing Customer Feedback: A Research-through-Design Approach - Alternative Approaches and Dialogical Engagement in Survey Design

Svensson, Rasmus January 2023 (has links)
Providing context behind customer feedback remains a challenge for company’s who rely on approaching Customer Experience (CX) through standardized Customer Satisfaction (CS) metrics like Net Promoter Score (NPS), Customer Satisfaction Score (CSAT), and Customer Effort Score (CES). Practical guidelines for monitoring CS throughout the customer journey are limited, creating a gap in academic research. This study addresses this gap by offering practical guidelines for CS, actionable insights, and alternative survey design strategies within the context of invoicing. Utilizing a Research-through-Design (RtD) approach guided by the Double Diamond design model, the study consists of four phases: Discover, Define, Develop, and Deliver. From a service design perspective using qualitative methods, the study acquires and analyzes both organizational and customer insights. Synthesized empirical findings emphasize the need for a more comprehensive approach that targets specific phases of the customer journey utilizing a more customer- centric approach, paving the way for alternative methods that reaches beyond just simply measuring CS. Introducing the concept of a personal companion, the study presents a dialogical approach where surveys are experienced as ongoing interactions rather mere tasks. By highlighting the importance of contextualization, alternative survey approaches, and a dialogical approach, this research aims to guide company’s in managing customer feedback strategies.

Värdeflödesanalys : logistik och installation av solceller / Value stream mapping : logistics and installation of solar cells

Gran, Niklas, Thunberg, Albin January 2020 (has links)
This report visualizes the value stream of solar cells at three different types of installations, followed by proposal of improvement at a growing installation company in Sweden. Through value stream mapping, we see a clear connection between a fast growing rate and logistical problems, where traceability, facilities and staff are key factors, which needs to be connected to create as optimal flow as possible. The results are divided into two groups. The first consists of visualization and information of the current value stream and the second of what kind of improvement we suggest the company takes into consider to go even further. We can also see that the company has great potential to increase its profitability by implementing ERP to its logistical department and to connect the other departments to reach a higher level of efficiency.
