Hermansson, Klas, Jansson Ask, Alfons January 2014 (has links)

Ready or not, here they come!

Arvidsson, Linda, Gran, Amanda, Sjöberg, Matilda January 2019 (has links)
Exchange students has been seen as an important segment of youth tourism according to previous studies of the topic, nevertheless have destinations failed to see the connection between the group and the advantages that comes with. This study aimed to investigate what kind of advantages the exchange students of Kalmar brings to the city. Previous research discusses the biggest advantages as economic, cultural and marketing, these three became the categories we investigated in our study. The study is based on a survey and three interviews.   Our study showed that the exchange students in Kalmar payed basic living costs. They also brought visitors and travelled around the destination as well as to other Swedish and European cities. They proved to have long term economic advantages since many of them planned to come back in the future. The result of the study when it came to marketing was that most of the students had a positive image of Kalmar, most of them also used social media and talked about or mentioned Kalmar in their updates. Many of the students would also recommend Kalmar to future exchange students. The biggest cultural impact according to previous research was that exchange students expose the host society for different cultures, however this can only happen if the exchange students gets the chance to interact with the local people and students at the destination. Our study showed that the exchange students did to some extent interact with the local students but not very much with the local society.   Our conclusion became that we couldn’t say for sure to what extent exchange students affected Kalmar from an economic and cultural perspective. But we can say that from the marketing perspective the exchange students brought some advantages. We think that even though we cannot say for sure to what extent the students affect Kalmar, we do believe that the advantages that comes with the exchange students needs to be addressed and recognized by the destination and its actors.

Blended-Learning arrangements for higher education in the changing knowledge society / Blended-Learning-Arrangements für Hochschulen im Wandel zur Wissensgesellschaft

Schoop, Eric, Bukvova, Helena, Lieske, Claudia 20 January 2010 (has links) (PDF)
This paper presents an advanced – international – blended learning arrangement. It has been developed, implemented and reviewed regularly in the last 4 years at the authors’ institution. Instead of referring solely to traditional classroom teaching, we use and continually refine this arrangement in our every-day formal teaching and learning processes at Technische Universitaet Dresden. By this we take into regard the changes induced by the Bologna Roadmap and try better to support its “new” didactical objectives: more interactive and interdisciplinary modules with focus upon the (practical) integration of professional and methodical responsibility, decision-making and soft skills.

Lietuvos studentų adaptacijos ypatumų užsienio aukštosiose mokyklose vertinimas: tarptautinių akademinių mainų atvejis (LEU ir VIKO studentų požiūriu) / Evaluation of peculiarities of Lithuanian students’ adaptation at higher educational institutions abroad: international exchange of students (from the viewpoint of LEU and VIKO students)

Vilčinskienė, Rūta 02 September 2013 (has links)
Darbo naujumas. Akademinio jaunimo dalyvavimas tarptautiniuose mainuose ir adaptacija svetimoje šalyje buvo gvildenta įvairiuose lietuvių moksliniuose darbuose... [toliau žr. visą tekstą] / Relevance and problem of the present paper: Educational Law of Republic of Lithuania supposes the right of Lithuanian citizens to study abroad. Studying abroad is not an easy task: students have difficulties not only in academic field but psychologically as well. K.Singh (1993) pointed out main problems that people have while studying abroad: emotional – loneliness, missing home, eating disorders, worries for what is going at home; academic – communication in foreign language, higher level of studies, misunderstandings between professors and students; readjustment that depends on social class (students coming from higher social level adopt themselves easier than those from average level), university level (it’s easier to study at regional institutions), time-span of studies, personal age and characteristics. Facts reveal that students from abroad suffer more than natives as they often experience additional stress like communication barrier, cultural disorganization: conflict between old and new cultural values, lack of family support. The more different cultural environment is the harder is acculturation process for individuals. Individuals feel out of community for a longer time then. Acculturation is an individual process so before moving abroad one has to be prepared how to ease the condition. Innovation of the present paper: Participation in international exchange of students and their adaptation in foreign countries was analyzed in various scientific works but mainly... [to full text]

Role zahraničních studijních pobytů budoucích učitelů / Role of study abroad for future teachers

Mitasová, Kateřina January 2017 (has links)
(in English): The master's thesis The Role of Studying Abroad for Future Teachers deals with the impact of an international study visit on prospective teachers and identifies areas of their professional training which can be affected most. The theoretical part of the thesis expands on studying abroad and the Erasmus Programme. It also deals with the teacher's personality, their competencies and pedagogical skills. The practical part of the thesis is devoted to specific international study visits within selected academic fields; it also analyses the respective study plans and estimates the extent of their possible influence on future teachers.

Proměny interkulturních kompetencí a obraz globálního občanství u absolventů programu Erasmus / Changes of Intercultural Competence and the Image of Global Citizenship within Erasmus Graduates

Hromková, Magdaléna January 2012 (has links)
Every year thanks to the Erasmus Programme hundreds of students spend a semester studying at a university abroad. In the Czech Republic available data cover only the number of student mobilities and of ECTS credits acquired, or show how the students were satisfied with their studies. The goal of the thesis is to find out whether, or how, the students' intercultural competence increased, how their view on citizenship changed, and how they perceive global citizenship. In the thesis, intercultural competence is measured purely quantitatively using the Multicultural Personality Questionnaire, citizenship is studied by the use of several open questions. Liberal model of citizenship is the most prominent among the students. As for global citizenship, the students' opinions vary. Most often, it was described as an affiliation to the Earth. Intercultural competence has not increased substantially in connection with the studies abroad. If not only academic development, but also increase in intercultural competence and development of responsible (global) citizens is to be achieved by studies abroad, students need to be better prepared for their stay.

Erasmus Darwin e os seres vivos: concepções de \'evolução\' e herança / Erasmus Darwin and the living beings: conceptions of evolution and inheritance

Donda, Pedrita Fernanda 15 February 2016 (has links)
Erasmus Darwin (1731-1802) mainly presented his evolutionary views at the end of the 18th century. However, they were not considered carefully at that time. His grandson, Charles Darwin (1809-1882), in the 6th edition of Origin of species evaluated them in a negative way, comparing them to Lamarcks erroneous conceptions. The aim of this dissertation is firstly to describe Erasmus Darwins conceptions on heredity and evolution considering the context of his time. Besides that, it tries to elucidate the reception received by them was due to a weak proposal or whether they deserved greater consideration. This dissertation comprises an Introduction and five chapters. Chapter 1 discusses Erasmus Darwins life, work and the context in which he presented his ideas. Chapter 2 deals with the conceptions of inheritance and evolution which are present in Zoonomia. Chapter 3 discusses Erasmus view on the transmutation of species in plants. Chapter 4 compares Erasmuss evolutionary conceptions to Lamarcks ones. Chapter 5 tries to answer the questions proposed in the beginning of this research and presents some final remarks concerning the subject. This research leads to the conclusion that the transmutation of species was not the main Erasmus concern. He did not present any empirical foundation of his views related to the subject. This fact, together with the socio-political-religious situation, must have contributed to its reception. Besides that, although there were some similarities between Erasmuss and Lamarcks proposal there were also great differences such as the scope of the research, the space dedicated to its discussion, the foundation provided, among others. Erasmus did not provide a coherent theory of the transmutation of species dealing with since the origin of life to the rise of man, departing from a study of natural history such as Lamarck. In this respect, he only presented a few ideas in works dedicated to other subjects.
