Možnosti rozvoje komunikačních dovednosltí v předškolním věku v rámci mimoškolních aktivit / Speech Therapy in Mainstream Preschoool Education in Extracurricular ActivitiesŠusterová, Pavla January 2018 (has links)
The main topic of the Master's thesis are the possibilities of development of communication abilities during the preschool age through extracurricular activities. The research study is qualitative and its goal is to determine the effect of group speech therapy sessions on the communication abilities of children attending a mainstream preschool. The Master's thesis is divided into two parts - a theoretical and a practical part. The theoretical part provides basic information about the overall development of children from the time of birth until reaching school age. It describes the development of children's motor skills, the development of sensory perception (visual and auditory perception) and the development of communication abilities. Each part also contains information about the possibilities of stimulating the individual areas of development. The theoretical part also defines and describes impaired communication ability. The thesis deals in more detail with the types of impaired communication ability which occur frequently in population. Based on the research study, a description of impaired communication ability in hearing-impaired people is provided. The practical part consists of a qualitative research study. The goal of the study is to determine whether group speech therapy sessions affect...

Hispanic students' connection to school: The relation between extracurricular participation and grade point averageTowe, Chad R., 1973- 06 1900 (has links)
x, 84 p. : ill. / This study examines the relation between Hispanic students' extracurricular participation and GPA. Research suggests that participation in extracurricular activities is positively related to academic achievement in high school. This study addresses the Social Capital connection to school as a contributing factor in academic achievement. This study's findings provide evidence to support the hypothesis that extracurricular activities have a positive relation to freshman year GPA scores, specifically for Hispanic students. The study's findings also suggest there is a difference in terms of GPA for Hispanic students across trimesters. This study adds to the growing body of literature on the positive relation between extracurricular activities and cumulative GPA for Hispanic students. / Committee in charge: Dr. David Conley, Chair

Beyond band : perspectives on the high school jam sessionSouthworth, Patricia Joan 05 1900 (has links)
This mixed-method case study examined effects of high school musicians' participation in the jam session, a student-directed, extracurricular music activity. The single case study site was a rural British Columbia high school exceptional for its support of jamming. Forty-four subjects, including 21 who fully met stated criteria for jammers, and 13 non-jamming subjects, were studied over a period of four months. The general research question was: Does participation in a band room jam session benefit students cognitively and motivationally? Specific research questions were: Do students who informally jam on various forms of music enhance their music skills in the perception and meaningful manipulation of music elements, and if so, how? In what ways does Csikszentmihalyi's flow theory explain the continued participation of students in the jam session? Three quantitative instruments were administered to 13 jammers capable of playing a Bb Concert scale on a melody instrument as well as to a comparable group of 13 non-jammers. These instruments included Gordon's Advanced Measures of Music Audiation (AMMA), Froseth's Test of Melodic Ear-to-Hand Coordination (TMEHC), and a researcher-developed test of ear-to-hand coordination (SOR). An ANOVA test showed no significant difference between jammer and non-jammer groups on AMMA scores (p<0.05). ANOVA showed a notable but not significant difference (p<0.056) between groups on the TMEHC, while a Repeated Measures Analysis of pre/post test TMEHC scores showed no effect of jamming over a period of 10 weeks. ANOVA showed a very clear difference between groups on the SOR (p<0.001). Qualitative data collected via journaling, interviews, observation, and participant-observer tasks indicated that jammers were perceiving and manipulating music elements in meaningful ways, and also supported Csikszentmihalyi's flow theory as an explanation for jam session participation. In particular, flow characteristics including transformation of time, loss of self-consciousness, and challenge/skill balance were both observed and reported. The role of the teacher, the presence of a music subculture, and the pseudo-curricular nature of jamming were noted as possible topics for further research.

Lokomocinio judėjimo raiška po trijų ir ketverių metų trukmės popamokinių krepšinio pratybų / Locomotion movement expression after three and four-year extracurricular basketball trainingGadliauskaitė, Giedrė 01 August 2013 (has links)
Nėra išsamiai išaiškinta kaip pasireiškia 10–11 metų amžiaus vaikų fiziniai gebėjimai bei specifiniai judėjimo mokėjimai, šiuo laikotarpiu ir esant tam tikroms fizinio ugdymo sąlygoms, todėl aktualu yra ištirti popamokinių fizinio ugdymo pratybų įtaką vaikų fiziniams gebėjimams ir judėjimo mokėjimams bei vertinti juos amžiaus bei trukmės aspektu. Šis tyrimas naujais duomenimis papildys edukologijos mokslą apie trijų ir ketverių metų trukmės popamokinių krepšinio pratybų poveikį 10-11 metų berniukų lokomociniams gebėjimams, o gauti tyrimų rezultatai leis geriau suprasti popamokinių fizinio ugdymo pratybų įtaką vaikų judėjimo gebėjimų raidai. Praktinėje veikloje leis vykdyti savalaikę atranką bei laiku pradėti taikyti specializuotus ugdymo krūvius.
Tyrimo objektu buvo pasirinkta vaikų lokomocinio judėjimo raiška.Tyrimo subjektu - 10–11 metų amžiaus vaikus. Pasirinkus tyrimo kintamuosius iškeltai hipotezei patikrinti buvo siekiama tikslo - ištirti lokomocinio judėjimo raišką po trijų ir ketverių metų trukmės popamokinių krepšinio pratybų. Siekiant užsibrėžto tikslo, magistro darbe buvo iškelti pagrindiniai tyrimo uždaviniai: 1. Aptarti vaikų fizinio išsivystymo rodiklius. 2. Nustatyti vaikų fizinius gebėjimus ir krepšinio technikos mokėjimus. 3. Atlikti skirtingo ugdymo grupių vaikų lokomocinių gebėjimų palyginamąją analizę. Remiantis ankstesnių tyrimų rezultatais suformuluota tyrimo hipotezė: galima prognozuoti, kad trijų ir ketverių metų trukmės specializuotos... [toliau žr. visą tekstą] / There is no circumstantial explanation about how physical abilities and specific movement skills of children from 10 to 11 years appears. During this period and under particular physical education circumstances it is relevant to investigate extracurricular physical education exercise influence on children's physical skills and movement of payments and evaluate them in terms of age and duration. This study will complement the educational science of three and four-year term extracurricular basketball training impact on 10 – 11 year-old boys locomotive capacities with a new data and the results of investigation will lead to better understanding of extracurricular physical education impact on children’s movement skills development.
