Felicia Stjärnstoft Gustafsson driver en New Age-butik i Gamla Enskede, där hon bland annat säljer böcker, tarotkort och rökelse samt erbjuder olika slags behandlingar. En dag får hon ett erbjudande om en utbildning till regressionsterapeut för att föra sina klienter till tidigare liv. Syftet är att genom bearbetning av sådant som varit svårt i tidigare liv bättre kunna hantera det nuvarande. Stjärnstoft bestämmer sig för att gå utbildningen, men provar först att genomgå en egen regression. Under denna session möter hon en man, Cepheus, som hon älskat i en annan tid.     Stjärnstoft har länge känt sig ensam och söker efter någon att dela sitt nuvarande liv med. I hennes vänkrets finns Elias, som hon misstänker är kär i henne. Kanske har även hon känslor för honom. Men när Cepheus dyker upp i hennes minnen förändras allt. Har han kommit tillbaka för att träffa henne igen? Är de själsfränder som följs åt i liv efter liv, eller är han en demon som kommit för att förleda henne? Är det egentligen Elias som är hennes livs kärlek?   Mitt i Stjärnstofts liv inträffar övernaturliga inslag, som är så vardagsnära att de lika gärna kunde vara verkliga. Liv och död vävs samman i denna kärlekshistoria där Stjärnstoft till sist inte har något annat val än att följa sitt eget hjärta, även om det innebär att hon måste lämna allt det hon någonsin trott på bakom sig.      I denna uppsats har jag försökt att göra de magiska inslagen så verklighetsnära att de blir naturliga delar av huvudkaraktärernas vardag. Det är en uppsats som handlar om längtan efter att veta mer om vad som väntar efter döden, och hur kärleken blir en sammanhållande länk över livstider.

Abstract  Introduction. The aim of this study is to investigate the role of a relatively new genre in popular literature in Sweden called "feelgood". Feelgood, as literary genre, has quickly risen to become a beloved and frequently borrowed genre among readers. However, there is a lack of knowledge regarding how the feelgood genre is perceived and handled by public libraries. Method. Six semi-structured interviews were conducted with librarians at public libraries. The interviewees reside in different parts of Sweden and the video communication platform Zoom was used to facilitate the enquire. Analysis. The data gathered from the interviews were transcribed and analyzed using a qualitative content method. It was also compared in relation to earlier studies. The theoretical approach was retrieved from Catherine Sheldrick Ross seven models of reading and Magnus Persson’s myth elements of literature and reading. Results. The results show that feelgood as literary genre is indeed noticed and discussed among the study’s informants. The thoughts and attitudes among the librarians differ but can generally be perceived as positive. Several of Ross and Persson’s theoretical models were applicable to the arguments put forward by the informants.  Conclusion. The study concludes that the feelgood genre in literature is mostly well-received among the participants.  However, there are some implications of inconsistencies in rhetoric and practice. The genre is considered both a hindrance and an opportunity. Reductions in public library budgets may possibly alter the way the feelgood genre is approached and handled. The result of the study is in many ways consistent with earlier studies conducted on other genre literature.  This is a two year master’s thesis in Library and Information Science.

Den här C-uppsatsen är en kvalitativ studie om användandet av feelgood tidningar i vardagen. Studien strävar efter att ta del av och förstå hur läsarna använder feelgood tidningarna i sin vardag. Studien syftar också att undersöka det psykologiska perspektivet bakom valet att läsa tidningarna. Mina frågeställningar är: Hur använder kvinnorna feelgood tidningen i sin vardag?Hur rumsrent tycker kvinnorna att det är att läsa de här tidningarna? Vad är det som gör feelgood tidningar underhållande?Hur kan man tolka kvinnornas användning av tidningarna ur ett psykologisk perspektiv? Materialet inhämtas via en fokusgrupp med fyra kvinnor i åldrarna 40- 65 år. Den teoretiska bakgrunden har hämtats ur Radway A Janice bok, Reading the romance- women, patriarchy and popular litteratur, Lisbeth Larssons En annan historia och ur boken Oro, av Skårderud Finn. Analysen är ett samspel mellan fokusgruppens utsaga och den teoretiska delen. I resultatet och analysen får läsaren ta del av intervjun med fokusgruppen och en analys som korrelerar med där frågeställningarna och teorin. Islutsatsen diskuteras sammanhangen mellan att kvinnorna i fokusgruppen både njuter och blir stressade av feelgood tidningarna. Det diskuteras även hur det kommer sig att en Engelsk studie som gjordes för 20 år sedan stämmer så väl överens med en studie gjord i dag. Slutligen diskuteras ett bifynd i uppsamlande av materialet, att män saknar en feelgood tidning anpassad för deras målgrupp.

This study has developed a tool for explaining why employees fail to speak up with regard to work related criticism; there is a hidden policy of silence that teaches employees to remain silent. This hidden policy is here designated as the "Curriculum Silentium" and is described in detail on the basis of empirical and theoretical data. After identifying a gap between the intentionally and experienced policy for employees freedom of speech in organizations I suggest that there are on-going unofficial, partially hidden learning processes in the organizations. The overall research question is; How does the Curriculum Silentium; the hidden policy of silence among employees, look like?  I make an analytic construction of the hidden policy as if it were planned policy, using the didactic categories applicable to organizations. These didactic categories are: goals, content, teaching strategies and the motivation of employees. The empirical data was collected in three different organizations: an elementary school, a home for the elderly and a factory in the process industry, using qualitative methods such as interviews and observation. The theoretical foundation of the study is taken from existing theory within the field of work life research and educational science. The study is not a comparative study of the three organizations, but does involve a comparison of whether and how the Curriculum Silentium is expressed in three such different organizations. The challenge of examining hidden relationships in organizations was met through the development of guidelines for an analytical approach called a critical didactic relations analysis. The study concludes that a hidden policy of silence resembling that presented here exists in organizations where employees fail to voice working life related criticism.
